2024 Countdown: 7!

Person A is in a family descended from the god of time, and have to take part in the rituals regarding changes in time - like the new year and changes in seasons and such. Their family treats these rituals as huge family parties where certain members have specific tasks and more fringe family members can just enjoy the festivities and atmosphere. Person B is their friend who loves tagging along to their family’s large gatherings and parties as Person A’s plus one, to avoid the questions about dating and marriage from their older relatives. But this year, Person A has been chosen to be the one to take the biggest part of the New Year’s ritual, and they need a partner for it, but is hesitant to ask Person B, since the role will require a New Year’s kiss between them.

Person A is a mythology scholar though and after seeing some hint of the entity still being around, starts trying out different standard rituals and offerings that most mythological beings accept, and, after much trial and error, gains the protection/friendship of the entity, Person B.
