i don't know any feeling that's better than succesfully traumatizing your dnd players :)))

#i made them fight a crazy woman that was literally a fucking horror film creature #she had like two attacks by turn and everytime someone failed to attack her she'd ripost #although she didn't have a lot of pv but she's really fun to play only because she terrifies everyone #and then my players met her three children that attacked them out of fear #so they negociated with them so they could take the little sister with them for the main quest (she wasn't important but oh well)#and they gave them a magic harmonica in exchange and after this they literally threw a molotov at the two other kids #so i was angry #sooooo the little brother stole some weird potion from one of my players and drank it #before turning into a half-dragon and breathing fire right into them #and the big sis stayed in the fire broke the harmonica and “ate” the harmonica's magic and literally fused with a god #at this point i was so fucking happy bc i just got a lot of lore and showed my players how much they'll find out when they fuck around #no one died bc i'm a rlly rlly nice dm (i know it doesn't show but fr i'm too nice)#and i also have now two ocs i love with my whole heart :)))#dnd #ttrpg

the sheer number of incredibly intricate worlds and characters that i have created with people who i am no longer friends with so that i can no longer talk about those characters or use those settings. i only got half the dog in the divorce do you know what i mean

#i have all these characters but they're missing their FRIENDS and their ORIGINAL CIRCUMSTANCES #people will never understand roleplay with original settings and original characters.#imagine if you played dnd purely by talking about the characters and their relationships with each other and their themes and motifs #and did all the little roleplay scenarios but wrote about it. and then made a bunch of supplementary material for your characters.#and then like. instead of one character you've got like three of them and they're all Part of this collaborative world #mourning the group of like. dkjfghs. nine friends from a fantasy world. i only have claim to like three of them #the rest... again. only half the dog #i WILL use prydwen elsewhere. because i'm in love with him and that's important in a character. he's literally my silly rabbit #but GOD i want to get my fucking hands on people's intellectual property sometimes #i was the ONLY one doing cool shit with the fantasy sci-fi world this one person created and i WANT to do more with it!!!#and like. how am i supposed to use zephyr without stealing the incredibly specific circumstances that they were created out of #anyway. frustrating. at least i have prydwen. hugging him like a teddy bear #yeah girl i have ocs except i don't talk about them on tumblr i'm in my little roleplay servers that i created the ocs for dskfgh #honestly i have probably talked about faedren more than any actual character of mine from like. SORRY !! i forfor to queue on the 20th then i was on planes for like 21 hrs total #well no 5 of those were a layover @ the airport but #ANYWAYYYYY hi future me !!!#Howww was the trip? im on my first (second actually- its 4am of the second day if u coukd the arrival) day in Hong Kong #Its rlly hot and humid so I think im gonna die. ughhhhhhhhhhh why am i so prone to complaining

#seeing a youtuber i like making a redesign of hazbin hotel!#shes nice and shes just giving her opinions on the designs but although i wanna see what she has to say and how she'll do them #im getting rlly mad #rlly and unnecessarily mad #i want to see the vid and i will but ill just let this here coz i cant shut up #rambles #i see what shes saying about charlie's design #the princess and the hellish part dont pop up at all against the concierge motif #i will say that #edit: she does have a point. i like charlies design in the show better but shes got valid points. also vaggie IS a bit shallow.#i love vaggie but #she needs more development #i mean. i also see WHY: vaggie was an exorcist and if she was like. born in heaven instead of a winner as some theories say #then her only purpose of existence was to serve heaven and adam. we see she still has these issues like in episode three when she feels lik #she failed charlie she is very upset and we see her saying that if she doesn't help charlie she has no worth #or smth to that effect #but she does need more development i feel #hazbin hotel #edit 2: the body type thing is VERY true i love viv's work but she does need to work on her problem with super thin characters #vaggie's redesign is looking good. she looks more knight-y which fits but i think it went a little too far #if it was in the show it would be way less subtle and we wouldn't have that chocking reveal with her past as we did. but it looks very nice #im liking the vaggie redesign better than charlie's #edit 2.5: ok im calmed down im not mad anymore #i just disagree with some specific points #edit 3: YES. vaggie's moth motif IS not rlly showing lavender im happy you went more far with that.#i'm really liking vaggie's redesign thank you #edit 4: ok she IS critizing all the red (and more things surrounging it which she makes good points in)#but i don't really see a problem with the red. it's fine to me. weird #um she didn't do angel. what a shame #last one: alastor design criticism i agree alastor's design is SHIT

I've reread Through the Valley again recently and once again started scouring for more fics.

Do you have any fic recommendations (res evil or not) that you would want to share?

I don't read nearly enough Resident Evil fics tbh, but I'm happy to recommend a few of my faves!

I'm sure everyone's familiar with it but I love Mushrooms & Magnets as much as the next person. It's just soooo good and I love Heisenberg in it.

I really like Bite Me, Asshole, and I'm holding out hope it'll still continue bc I also disappeared for a year on my fic so who knows!!

& A series I think doesn't get nearly enough love is the Crow Daughter series, which is an Eveline Lives AU where she ends up in Blue Umbrella/Chris's custody. It's very well done! There was a real rash of Eveline Lives fics that came out around the time of / after Through the Valley (I was maybe the first on this horse to my knowledge lmao but I'm not gonna sit and try to claim some kind of lordship/creatorship over the concept), but this was the main one I read that I actually found to be well-written and well-done.

I've not read much Res Evil in the last few months tho bc unfortunately I got back into Stranger Things like every other loser so like... if anyone knows of good new fics I missed let me know lol.

#sorry I've rlly only got...three...#I should read more Res Evil fics but there's a LOT of character/reader which I have absolutely no problem with but I don't read a ton of #bc I like working more closely with canon and canon divergences #and it's less about shipping for me #and my brain is always like 'why read Res Evil fic when you could be WORKING ON YOUR OWN FIC JACKIE'#if you want stranger things fics tho #......i got a lot.........#asks

#bc you can’t tell me that one extremely traumatic event wouldn’t completely break that man #I’ve also got a stalker/serial killer blaine wip that I’ve been working on for like three years now #but that would require rewatching glee and no. no I will not #there’s plenty of videos compiling his scenes on yt anyway #like he uses the ‘too dumb to live and ultra innocent’ personality as a way of coping #like something clearly happened to him young and he never rlly processed it properly #and eventually his pent up trauma and anger boils over and in an effort to try and ‘regain’#the innocence he never had he ends up crafting said innocent persona to live in and continue ignoring his burgeoning murderous urges #instead of being stupid and innocent he’s very good at reading ppl and amazing at manipulation #and uses that and his fake image as a way to safely express his sociopathic tendencies #and as an adult something else horrific happens to him which finally makes him SNAP #and poor kurt is on the receiving end bc he’s the only one that blaine was ever able to actually have feelings for #so after all those years of being extremely obsessed with kurt and always having surveillance on him #he’s the unfortunate soul who becomes his victim in a psychotic break #sorry can u tell I’ve thought about this a lot
