Offer #4
@badassindistress (badassindustries on AO3)
Offer: a historical romance fic of at least 2k words
I’m offering a short Regency/Victorian/Roaring 20s fic for any fandom you can explain to me. Want to see your favourite ot3 fall in love in the ballroom or your OC’s flirt in a speakeasy? Want a regency au of your dnd campaign? Now’s your chance!
Pairings: Fandoms I’ve written for are Les Mis, Penumbra, Untamed and Adventure Zone, but anything you can give a 1 page primer for that can fit in a historical setting is fair game…
It won’t get any steamier than the touch of an ungloved hand and secret kisses in the moonlight. We’re doing fluff and pining and happiness in embroidered waistcoats and silk gowns! (Fictional characters only, RPF flusters me)
For reference to my style, see my Les Mis series of Absolutely No Homophobia Regency Romance or last year’s prize for the Untamed, Elders and Eligibility
Starting bid: $10
See the rules of the auction here

Roaring 20's
Roaring 20's [trailer]
In a single unbroken shot, the movie gives viewers the chance not only to travel to Paris, but to live a day in the life there.
Some of the walk-and-talk conversations are interesting to listen to (like the one about Anish Kapoor's black). But at least just as many episodes were a bit thin (like the one on the subway, or the guy picking up the girl at the Louvre).
But it's nice to have a walk through Paris. Either to refresh your memory if you've been there. Or being able to see what it looks like if you haven't.

You should be acknowledged for your attention to detail your preplanning today. Any previous movement towards your desired goal has gone horribly wrong. It is as if all the work you have done today is a second chance to make right the mistakes so that you can end your day with enough internal satisfaction and confidence that nothing now can detract you from forging ahead.

Human Time Line AU: James and his Bright Red Coat
James has a sad backstory that I had planned for him.
Which is basically 'what if he came from a timeline that was post-apocalyptic where being grimy all the time wasn't an option, it was just a fact of life'.
When he gets onto a Time Line he finally gets actual pay and is thus able to actually buy luxury items. The first thing that he sees and immediately buys is a bright red coat. That's why he gushes about it nonstop.
Everyone else thinks he's being incredibly vain about it. Which, they're not wrong. They just don't know the full context because he refuses to tell anyone else about where he came from. He prefers the lie he tells about everyone living lavishly but him standing out most of all.
He’s going to get his own little character arc where he has one day where the universe is seemingly out to get him in trying to dirty his coat. And he's doing all types of things to avoid that, including selfish things that end up annoying everyone else.
And then he finds a grubby, injured child at one of the stations. Possibly when he's in his original timeline. And there's a hesitance, then a disgust at the hesitance, and then finally he's picking up the child, getting blood and grime on him, and rushing to the nearest medic.
He can put aside his vanity when it matters most.
