I’m sorry but Michelle Williams is such a boring actress, why is she constantly nominated for awards? And the obsession the Oscars have for biopics is so annoying, the performances should be about acting, not impersonating.

I haven’t seen fablemans yet but while there are some really great things in the noms as a whole, aside from Cate Blanchett and Michelle Yeoh, best actress is a mess with Viola and Danielle being shut out, Ana being nominated for a film I refuse to watch that shamelessly exploits Marilyn (the director's quotes about her are hateful). I haven’t seen Andrea’s performance and from what I understand Michelle W should have been supporting. There are no female directors. Biopics are very formulaic (hoping Oppenheimer is diff; but will mainly be watching for Cillian). Elvis was…not good imo altho Austin gave a great performance but the whole fake voice thing for campaigning is weird and if Lisa Marie’s death gets exploited…just gross. Thank goodness Stephanie Hsu was nominated, really wish Dolly de Leon in triangle of sadness was too, but glad it got a lot of noms. A lot of the BP noms are solid (really want to see Women Talking and thank goodness it got noms) and foreign is good minus the decision to leave omission. I also love that best actor is all first time nominees.

But anyway I’m just so happy for Paul! Aftersun was amazing and his nom is so deserved (would have been great to see Charlotte get screenplay or the film get more). The things his fam have posted and he’s posted with Frankie are so pure 😭

Happy Birthday Scottish actor Richard Madden born June 18th 1986 in Elderslie.

Richard was raised by his mother, Pat, a classroom assistant and his father, Richard, who worked for the fire service. He also has two sisters, Cara and Lauren.

His parents were “hippies”, he says, and their house was pretty open, with friends always piling in for big vegetarian meals. Madden spent a lot of time outside, in the woods behind their house. He has several injuries: he shows me where he shot his dad’s old air pistol and blew off part of his finger, then managed to wreck the same finger when he nailed a wooden plank to his skateboard, then crashed it, so apart from the Hippie parents it was much like most of our own days as bairns.

Despite growing up wanting to be an actor, Richard was very shy during his childhood. To overcome this, at age 11, he joined Paisley Arts Centre’s youth theatre program. In 1999 he was given the lead role as Sebastian Simpkins in BBC1’s children’s TV comedy series Barmy Aunt Boomerang, that’s him aged 12 in the first pic with co-star Toyah Wilcox.. By 2000, he’d made his feature film debut in the Iain Banks adaptation, Complicity.

After high school he was accepted to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland and in 2007, he graduated.

Less than two years later, Richard had a recurring role as Dean McKenzie on the 2009 BBC series Hope Springs. Soon after, he landed the role of Ripley in the 2010 movie Chatroom, a film about a group of teenagers who encourage each other’s bad behaviours after meeting online. In the same year, Richard played punk band Theatre of Hate singer Kirk Brandon in Worried About the Boy, a TV film about the life of British singer-songwriter Boy George.

In 2011 Richard landed his breakthrough role as Robb Stark in the HBO fantasy-drama series Game of Thrones. Also in 2011, he played gay paramedic Ashley Greenwick on the short-lived British comedy-drama Sirens. During hiatus from filming Game of Thrones in 2013, Richard was cast to star as Prince Charming in the 2015 Disney film Cinderella.

Richard won his first Screen Actors Guild award in 2014 for the Discovery Channel mini-series, Klondike. He played Bill Haskell, one of two adventurers who travel to Yukon, Canada during the Klondike Gold Rush in the 1890s. He further enhanced his reputation as a good actor when he appeared in the BBC drama Bodyguard in 2018, the following year he played Lieutenant Joseph Blake in the film 2017 and was Elton John’s manager/lover in the biop of the star Rocketman.

In January 2019 Madden won  a prestigious Golden Globe for his role as war veteran David Budd in the BBC show Bodyguard. He also appeared in the 2019 war movie 1917.

We last saw Richard in the movie,  Eternals, which was okay, but nothing great, he is one of several actors being touted as the next James Bond,

James is currently in the Amazon Prime series Citadel, I've watched the first three episodes and am not really impressed with it,I think he does pull of the American accent well, but I noticed there have been people saying he doesn't pull it off, Madden revealed he spoke in the accent for two years straight to prepare for the series. The show has been earmarked for a second series. Richard is set to appear in the feature film Killer Heat next.

In July 2019, Madden received an honorary doctorate from his alma mater, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. When asked about his personal life during a New York Times interview following speculation about his relationships and sexuality, Madden stated: “I just keep my personal life personal.”

Madden was recently named one of ‘Scotland’s Sexiest Men'  following a new study that identifies the most attractive features for men, he has competition though,  also in the running are Bathgate’s David Tennant  and Glasgow’s James McAvoy,

And then they start a band together called The Hellrockets or something and they play at a pub on Saturday nights in London and all the Stranger Things and Rocketman cast comes to listen and then Joe Keery comes up and plays the drums and Jamie Campbell Bower comes up with his guitar and sings some Sweeney Todd or whatever and they go on tour and sell merch and I’ll buy that shit the end.

LOL hello! in response to ur tags on that rocketman post, my friend and i met taron egerton at a bar in my city summer of 2021! he was in town for a while filming that show he did for apple tv+ and new orleans is a very small city so i was bound to run into him lmao. this was huuuuge for me as i saw rocketman 8 times in theaters and it became my hyperfixation of 2020 <3 but yeah he was wasted and was just going around to all the tables asking people what their names were and what they did for a living. you could tell he enjoyed that people didn’t know who he was. but I Did. so i made friends with the bartender and she gave me a free tequila shot and a vodka cran. i went up to him and told him i was fan and offered him the tequila shot. he said “oh love i can’t I’ll be on the floor” but asked me my name and gave me a big hug. we talked for a bit and he was very sweet and drunk and hugged me multiple times and on one of the hugs when i was close to his ear i said “would you be okay with taking a picture? i totally get if not because i don’t wanna blow ur cover!” and he thought about it for a second and then said “you know what? yeah let’s take a pic!” and flagged down some random guy and said “would you take a picture of me and my friends?” and here is the pic lol…. now to address the OTHER thing i said, he keeps hooking up with girls i know bc new orleans is a very small city. he ended up fucking the bartender i befriended that very night, my coworkers’ roommate, and this past weekend he tried to pull a friend of a friend but he was like out with the lads and she thought the situation was weird so she said no LOL. end of very long story!

Taron looks so good in those pics of him with Paul’s baby. Tanned and gorgeous and happy. So glad we’re witnessing this era. He looks even better than during Rocketman when he was most ~himself~

He looks absolutely incredible, tanned and gorgeous and happy indeed. I can't say these looks top Rocketman Summer for me because that'd be lying--I am still emotionally attached to the Breezy Baby shirts and the slightly chunkier figure, sue me, it's just how it is. But you're right, he does feel very ~himself~ these days. And whatever that ends up meaning, it looks bloody good on him. The cherry on top would be starting to see that golden ring back in his earlobe.

Happy Friday!! We made it.

The Bahamas! How fantastic. That will certainly be a change from the Canadian winter (depending on your locale of course.. I'm on the east coast so we've already in frigid temps).

Chris Cornells voice is astounding! Like the fact that a human being could sing that boggles the mind. Sometimes I find myself going down the YouTube rabbit hole of him singing various cover songs and the man really could sing anything. He's such a loss for the music world.

A new album on the horizon. That's exciting news for the fans (Gresties is the best fandom name btw!). PJ had only just released a new one when the pandemic hit so we won't be expecting anything soon I'm afraid. They're known for going long stretches between studio albums though most of the members do have solo/side projects. Do the Greta boys have other projects besides the band?

Mutuals that you share similar interests is the best, isn't it? Most of my friends aren't as into music or book or movies as I am so having people to talk with them about has been great. I love when a mutual recommends something or an interest of theirs that post about shows me something new that I may not of heard of.

I do have Twitter but it's mostly for work and I go on very rarely lol. Insta I have but I'm not very active there and Pinterest is where I go to dig for band pics. It's a treasure trove. Tumblr is the only sm where I'm very active.

Bohemian Rhapsody was so good! I've not yet seen the Dirt but I'll add to my watch list. I loved Ray; Walk The Line; Respect to name a few. I've been meaning watch Rocketman but I've not gotten around to it yet. Have you ever seen the Def Leppard one called Hysteria? It's not the greatest but it's kinda fun.

I've been watching a lot of music docs. I just finished one about Ronnie James Dio that was great. I love the medium of documentary. I'll watch them about artists I don't necessarily know that well too. Do you watch docs?
