I’m happy you like the title!! it’s actually from this excerpt. I’m the worst at making up titles on my own so I often pluck a line from a pretty poem or excerpt that fits the vibe lol & this one fit so perfectly for what I want with this fic.

love’s only demand is that we fall is my baby ❤️ I haven’t felt this much love for a fic in years so I’m really excited about it. It started out as a series of cute little itafushi headcanons that I was trying to string together and then it evolved into Yuuji’s journey to falling in love with Megumi & coming to terms with those feelings + allowing himself the opportunity to be loved in turn. It’s 98% fluff and fully self-indulgent. ☺️ I’m almost done with the first draft but I’ll probably need a beta reader to help me polish it into the final product.

I’ve posted a couple of snippets but here’s another small one for you:

“It’s something of a habit they’ve developed over time. Yuuji didn’t even notice it until Nobara pointed it out with a disgusted scrunch of her nose, gagging about how domestic they are during lunch one day. That’s when he realizes that he’s leaning in towards Fushiguro to accept the bite of yakitori he’s currently offering. He holds the skewer towards Yuuji expectantly, eyes focused on his phone as if it’s so natural he doesn’t even think about the action.”

:D :D :D hiiiii i love reading all your thoughts too!!!! very fun to sit on for a while hehehe. it’ll probably be a while until i get back to your thoughts, since not only do i spend a good chunk of time trying to address everything mentioned in comments, but also i’ve been typing up my own thoughts on the discussion (and reader!!) questions into essays that i’ll probably post on this blog and link in the end notes in about a month.

i really do love responding to comments in-depth, and i will get back to yours when i can!!!!!

also excited to know you’ll be reading zenith eventually. it’s a slow burn, so the questions probably won’t be explored in the same sort of puppet dialogue as the closet fic, instead going for more subtle discussions and stuff, and it’ll also be a while until some questions are presented at all (esp. the emotion stuff-- though it’ll take up a good chunk of the fic, it takes a few chapters to be introduced aaa), but i’ve been so so so excited for this fic for just months!!!! aaaaa

I feel like I have a lot in common (crazy, unruly hair, an immense desire for baked goods, quick temper, emotional issues) least favorite character: THE FUCKING MAGE LITERALLY FUCKING FUCK THAT GUY AND HIS STUPID-ASS ROBIN HOOD COSTUME I AM SO GLAD HE DIED most underrated character: ~natasha motherfucking pitch i've only been saying it for a year now~ initial reaction to chapter 61: *incoherent screaming* MY BABIES ARE IN LOVE *throws book across room in a frenzied flight of happiness* favorite quote: dude idfk there are so many that I just love so much.... maybe "You were the sun, and I was crashing into you" (i mean obviously, that's kind of the my name on tumblr) or "He's still looking in my eyes. Staring me down like he did that dragon, chin tilted and locked. "I'm not the Chosen One," he says. I meet his gaze and sneer. My arm is a steel band around his waist. "I choose you," I say. "Simon Snow, I choose you."" Jesus fuck I love them all this whole book is my favorite quote.
