OC collection, 4/20

So I’ve been gone a while oopsie. Figured I would show y’all some of what I’ve been working on. All of these are characters from my au server where Elaena became queen by her own right. Starting from the top left hand corner, going right, then doing the same for the next row down. Also this spans over a century of characters Yall the family trees are insane, I’ve casted over two hundred characters just for this server. Does everything make absolute sense? No! And Idrc it’s all just for fun, it’s very soap opera coded, very dramatic.
TW: this is asoiaf there are going to be very mature themes, but as a little synopsis, there are mentions of grooming, sexual abuse, csa, rape, death by childbirth, death in general, suicide, period typical sexism, incest, violence and lmk if I missed anything

Lady Rosalind Everlily- This character was def a therapy project for me. Daughter of Princess Daenora Targaryen and Lord Steffon Tyrell. She was fostered at Casterly Rock from the age of eight. By the time she was sixteen she was married to Tyland Lannister her foster brother, a man seven years her elder. In their marriage he was lustful, inconsiderate, very toxic. He died when she was 25, by that point she had given birth to 13 children, including three sets of twins, 8 of which lived to a significant age. Her children were named Anthony, Bethany, Callan, Damon, Elissa, Falena, Genna, Harry, Illiana, Jaime, Kevan, Leonella, and Myrcella. During the later years of her marriage she found solace in her sworn shield Ser Milo Flowers, a bastard of House Rowan. Two years after the death of her first husband while she was still Lady Regent for her son Anthony, Rosalind granted Milo some lands, and he was the founder of House Everlily. With him she had four more children, Nathaniel, Olenna, Petyr, and Perra. Her fourth son Damon is truly the bastard of King Brandon Arryn. Rider of the dragon Moonshine. (Yes it’s an alcohol joke because she had a reputation of having a tendency to indulge)

Lady Myrcella Brax- The youngest of Rosalind’s children by Tyland, though she considers Milo to be her father as she was a baby when Tyland died. Another therapy project icl. Very good at playing cyvasse which she mostly enjoyed playing with her childhood friend/rival/crush Lorent Brax, a cousin to the Lannisters, who she frequently bickered with. As a teenager she was coerced into a relationship with her brother Kevan, and when their other brother Jaime discovered the pair of them one night Kevan killed Jaime. The guilt nearly drove Myrcella mad and upon discovering she was pregnant she attempted suicide but was stopped by Milo. Upon questioning her mother and Milo were told the truth. Kevan was promptly sent to the wall and Myrcella was given moon tea. She was sent to Hornvale where her friend Lorent discovered letters sent to her by Kevan. They have a huge fight as he was upset she didn’t tell anyone and in turn his best friend Jaime died, she goes back to Casterly and when they reunite he tells her of Kevan’s death at the Wall. Some stuff happens. She ends up marrying Lorent, they have three kids together after a lot of difficulty with fertility, Phillip, Cerissa, and Melara.

Queen Daella Targaryen- my first oc from this server. The great granddaughter of Elaena Targaryen. Daughter of Valerion Targaryen and Vaella Targaryen. As a child she was very bright and curious. Highly passionate about dragons, claiming her own Dreamdancer at the age of seven. She started a book that would be passed down for generations documenting every living dragon during her time and it has been added onto by Monarchs after her. After a lot of oopsies happen and the Targaryen line is whittled down to just three children bearing the Targaryen name. Daella is married to her brother Vaegon at the age of thirteen. Her parents expected them to wait to consummate the marriage but turns out Vaegon didn’t wait as nine months after their wedding night Daella gave birth to their son Aerion. She would go on to suffer multiple miscarriages and a stillbirth while married to Vaegon. They lived on Dragonstone and he was infamously unhappy with the marriage and treated her very poorly. The abuse ended once her parents learned of it. Sending Vaegon on a diplomatic mission to Essos. Though it was soon proven that the Targaryens were unwelcome as Vaegons head was sent back to the royal family in a box. The body of his dragon Morning never found. Daella was named heir over her five year old son. At the age of 21 she was remarried to Lord Brandon ‘The Bloody’ Arryn, rider of the dragon Midnight. She chose him for his strength as he defended his mothers claim to the Eyrie in a civil war that ended with him killing his great uncle and his great uncles steed Shrykos. The beginning of their marriage was rocky, Brandon unable to cope with the fact that he was married to a woman who held more power than him, and Daella finding herself astounded at his lack of empathy for anyone besides himself. Though their marriage proved to be the right choice in the end. Daella developing a backbone, Brandon reconciling with his position in life. They would go on to have eight children, Lord Adrian Arryn, Princess Alayne Arryn, Prince Addam Arryn, Prince Aemon Arryn, Prince Aegon Arryn, Princess Aelinor Arryn, and Princess Alysanne Arryn. At the age of 44, six years after the birth of Alysanne, Daella stepped down from the throne, leaving it to her eldest son Aerion. The retired to the Eyrie with Brandon, the two of them helping their daughter by law Bethany raise their grandson Ben after the death of Adrian. For nearly twenty years they lived there peacefully, Brandon passing two weeks before Daella.

Princess Alysanne Arryn- y’all she’s evil icl. Girlie is her father’s daughter. Betrothed to the Prince of Dorne when she was three years old. She acted out quite a bit as a child. When she turned eighteen she was sent to Kings Landing for a year. While there she had a short lived affair with Prince Daeron Targaryen. During a nighttime outing with some of her friends into Kingslanding she met and befriended and banged Ser Willas Tyrell, a man outcasted by his family after the accidental death of his older brother Lyman. A couple weeks later she was given leave by her brother Aerion to choose a new member of the Kingsguard as whoever she chose would accompany her to Dorne. To her delight she found Willas amongst the ranks and named him as her sworn shield. They resumed their relationship and it continued even after she went to Dorne and married. While there she arranged two poor matches for his sisters, finding them annoying. She was greatly displeased with her marriage as her husband seemed to take nothing seriously She gave birth to a son with dark hair and dark eyes, though he was truly the son of Willas, she was able to pass him off as legitimate. Her relationship with Willas had always been a very toxic one, both of them jealous and bitter. Willas ended up killing her husband in a jealous rage but the pair disguised the death as a suicide. Alysanne grew wary of Willas and after he struck her in a rage she killed him at night. Framing his death as a thwarted attack. She would go on to later marry her nephew, though he was three months her elder, Ben Arryn, Lord of the Vale. With him she would have three more sons. She rode the dragon Vaessia, a purple and gold beast that hatched in her cradle.

Oooooh I would love to hear your anti-romantacy thoughts (because same)
If you feel like sharing I will be sat
So, first little lore dump is I used to be a huge anti SJM person back pre-covid before SJM became uber popular like she is today and ACOTAR sparked this whole romantasy saturation. My negative review of Empire of Storms on goodreads was its own little corner-of-the-internet-controversy back in the day because I was like.....(SPOILERS FOR THRONE OF GLASS SERIES UNTIL THE PARAGRAPH BREAK) Rowan and Aelin came out of nowhere! This is bullshit! Manon is a lesbian! Dorian and Chaol are obviously in love! This magic system doesn't make sense! Why are these characters that meant so much to me as a teenager suddenly caricatures! Why is this world a bad patchwork of every other fantasy story ever!
I feel like 16 year old me didn't quite know how to explain why these things were bad or what the root problems were, but now seeing these root problems repeated widely across a genre....I can summarise in a list. I can go into greater detail if I won't bore anyone, but to sum it up:
Heteronormative as hell. This is my major complaint. Most romance in romantasy reads as thinly veiled conservative propaganda. Plus the weird insistence on using the words "males" and "females"
Bad FANTASY as a whole. Fantasy is my favourite genre because done right you can fold a whole lot of real world observations about our own society into it. Or, if you're Brandon Sanderson, you can write excellent magic systems based around rules and drawbacks. Super Special Girl meets Bad Boy and they have the most specialist powers ever doesn't do it for me really.
Following on: extremely dumbed down plots. Fantasy is about weaving elaborate plots together under a new system of rules, Romantasy is all about the romance. Don't worry about plots, just don't.
Blatant plagiarism absolutely everywhere? Every single book with dragons/wyverns from the past ten years needs to start paying some sort of monetary contribution back to the Eragon series and Dragonriders of Pern.
Really REALLY weird attitudes about race/class/beauty if you start looking at it too head on.
I am a girl with a deep love for ao3 and a fairly active account but it needs to be said.....a lot of these people who exclusively read romantasy have porn addictions. You know how depressing it is to see a favourite fantasy book of yours be rated low because "no spice" or "spice wasn't good enough". Like the spice is only one possible way of flavouring a delicious meal, I think we need to learn to embrace the vanilla too as a society.
The marketing of it is also just disturbing. And it is encroaching big time on fantasy as a genre rather than just accepting that it can be its own thing. Fourth Wing is NOT proper high fantasy, don't make me laugh. Talk to my copy of Priory of the Orange Tree please.
People can enjoy romantasy of course I won't hold it against them, it's just more an absolute hatred for the genre and people reading it refuse to engage with it critically when fantasy as a genre has ALWAYS been a mirror to our own society. Also, returning to my first bullet point, it's just mind-boggling heteronormative slop most of the time. Instead of trying to build a romance that can compel me, most romantasy authors are perfectly happy to go "she was a slight and slender and specially magically powerful girl, he was a hunk of a man, can I make it any more obvious?" and leave it at that.

Some Lore About Kaleb’s Lesser Known Children

Brandon Waters || Gawen Arryn || Alyssa Locke
Brandon Waters
Brandon Waters is the bastard son of Kaleb and Alicent Hightower. He was born during Alicent’s final years, while she was kept prisoner in the Red Keep. Unfortunately, she died shortly afterwards, leaving Brandon’s fate to be decided by his father and the court. They came to the decision that Brandon would remain in King’s Landing and would be raised alongside the young king, and when he came of age, at the same time which he became a squire, he became King Aegon III’s cupbearer.
Growing up, Brandon and Aegon became very close, coming to view each other as brothers. Brandon was exceptionally loyal to Aegon, and in turn Aegon looked out for his young friend. They remained best friends until Aegon’s death.
As a boy, Brandon had feelings for Jaehaera, but he of course never acted on them. After her death, which left him devastated, he accompanied Aegon in his search for a new wife, and one of his potential brides, Myrielle Peake, caught Brandon’s attention, who ended up returning his affections. When they were both older, Brandon would eventually marry Myrielle and have three children by her: Rowan, Addam, and Martyn.
Brandon would eventually become a knight serving under Aegon, although he turned down the offer to join the Kingsguard in order to marry Myrielle. He participated in jousts and was quite popular, especially with the smallfolk.
His relationship with Kaleb is good, even though he doesn’t see him often, and Kaleb refused to legitimize him in order for Tristan’s son to succeed him as Lord of Raven’s Keep instead. They often exchange letters, and when they are able, they visit one another. Kaleb is very proud of his son!
Gawen Arryn
Gawen is the son of Kaleb and Jeyne Arryn, his second wife (the marriage having been arranged by the Small Council). Unfortunately, Jeyne died only a year after his birth, leaving him with very little memory of her. After her death, Kaleb returned to Raven’s Keep to resume his lordship, meaning that Gawen was left in the care of Jeyne’s court and the few living relatives in the Vale that he had.
Having assumed lordship of the Vale at such a young age, Gawen’s rule was incredibly unstable, as he was constantly faced with competition from other Valemen who sought to claim it from him. Multiple plots were made against him, although none but one ultimately proved successful. In response, Gawen did everything possible to assert his legitimacy, from the way he dressed to proclamations to the way in which he ruled. He relied heavily on his council for guidance, although he also proved to be somewhat vain and impulsive, making him hard for them to control.
He was known for being a womanizer, having multiple relationships (including one with one of Aegon II’s bastard daughters) and several rumored bastards, although by the time of his death none were claimed (but there was good evidence of at least some being his children). However, upon his betrothal to Cynthea Tully, he became devoted entirely to her. It was love at first sight, and it was very passionate love indeed. At the time of his and Cynthea’s deaths, despite them having yet to be wed, it was believed that Cynthea had been pregnant.
Unfortunately, Gawen died very young during a tragic “accident”, although it is speculated that it was plot against him considering the swiftness by which his successors took over afterwards. During a jousting tournament which Gawen was participating in, he was impaled through the eye by his opponent’s lance, killing him almost instantly.
Alyssa Locke
Alyssa is the daughter of Kaleb and Jessamyn Redfort, his third and final wife. She grew up in Raven’s Keep with both of her parents, the only one of Kaleb’s children to have a stable upbringing with both parents present.
She lived a much quieter life compared to that of her siblings. When she was of age, she was married to Theodan Locke, the lord of Oldcastle, and they had three children: Benjicot, Daryn, and Shyra.
Alyssa was very close with Kaleb in particular, and she would be the author of the history of his life, The Life Chronicle of Kaleb Dormaire, which is still read into the time of Nadya and her brothers. She was a very skilled writer and historian, more so than most scholars of her time, and is well-renowned by her descendants.

Whenever you feel alone, just remember that those kings will always be there to guide you. And so will I.
Born to a turbulent family on a Mississippi farm, James Earl Jones passed away today. He was ninety-three years old. Abandoned by his parents as a child and raised by a racist grandmother (although he later reconciled with his actor father and performed alongside him as an adult), the trauma of his childhood developed into a stutter that followed him through his primary school years – sometimes, his stutter was so debilitating, he could not speak at all. In high school, Jones found in an English teacher someone who found in him a talent for written expression, and encouraged him to write and recite poetry in class. He overcame his stutter by graduation, although the effects of it carried over for the remainder of his life.
Jones' most accomplished roles may have been on the Broadway stage, where he won three Tonys (twice winning Best Actor in a Play for originating the lead roles in 1969's The Great White Hope by Howard Sackler and 1987's Fences by August Wilson) and was considered one of the best Shakespearean actors of his time.
But his contributions to cinema left an impact on audiences, too. Jones received an Honorary Academy Award alongside makeup artist Dick Smith (1972's The Godfather, 1984's Amadeus) in 2011. From the end of Hollywood's Golden Age to the dawn of the summer Hollywood blockbuster in the 1970s to the present, Jones' presence – and his basso profundo voice – could scarcely be ignored. Though he could not sing like Paul Robeson nor had the looks of Sidney Poitier, his presence and command put him in league of both of his acting predecessors.
Ten of the films James Earl Jones appeared in, whether in-person or voice acting, follow (left-right, descending):
Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964) – directed by Stanley Kubrick; also starring Peter Sellers, George C. Scott, Sterling Hayden, Keenan Wynn, and Slim Pickens
The Great White Hope (1970) – directed by Martin Ritt; also starring Jane Alexander, Chester Morris, Hal Holbrook Beah Richards, and Moses Gunn
Star Wars saga (1977-2019; A New Hope pictured) – multiple directors, as the voice of Darth Vader, also starring Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Peter Cushing, Alec Guinness, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, David Prowse, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, and Frank Oz
Claudine (1974) – directed by John Berry; also starring Diahann Carroll, Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs, and Tamu Blackwell
Conan the Barbarian (1982) – directed by John Milius; also starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sandahl Bergman, Ben Davidson, Cassandra Gaviola, Gerry Lopez, Mako, Valerie Quennessen, William Smith, and Max von Sydow
Coming to America series (1988 and 2021; original pictured) – multiple directors; also starring Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, John Amos, Madge Sinclair, Shari Headley, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, and KiKi Layne
The Hunt for Red October (1990) – directed by John McTiernan; also starring Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin, Scott Glenn, and Sam Neill
The Sandlot (1993) – directed by David Mickey Evans; also staring Tom Guiry, Mike Vitar, Patrick Renna, Chauncey Leopardi, Marty York, Brandon Adams, Grant Gelt, Shane Obedzinski, Victor DiMattia, Denis Leary, and Karen Allen
The Lion King (1994) – directed by Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff, as the voice of Mufasa; also starring Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Matthew Broderick, Jeremy Irons, Moira Kelly, Niketa Calame, Ernie Sabella, Nathan Lane, and Robert Guillaume, Rowan Atkinson, Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin, Jim Cummings, and Madge Sinclair
Field of Dreams (1989) – directed by Phil Alden Robinson; also starring Kevin Costner, Amy Madigan, Ray Liotta, and Burt Lancaster

Fancasting.
Me when I see mfs fancasting Henry Cavill to play Rhysand (leave that white man alone😭):

I was scrolling through reels a couple of weeks ago and saw this lady doing a interview with him and she mentioned that he's "popular" as a fancast when it comes to booktok and apparently, he knows it and doesn't see to mind it? (I'm trying my best to recall it so bear with me)
He has good book recommendations (saw this Tik Tok of him talking about Brandon Sanderson so I can trust him on that, heard nothing but praise when it comes to Brandon) and I doubt that Sarah is a genre for him. Anyone can read what they want but he doesn't give that vibe to me, y'know? I could be wrong but eh.
He's also a smart guy and seems to have critical thinking. So imagine if he decided to pick up Acotar, reads the first book, and go "what the fuck? And people root for this guy?" Just to find out that he's a popular fancast for Rhysand.
What's the chokehold this man has on booktok? I can't lie because he got me in one to (he can literally choke me- I'm sorry y'all)
I've seen fancasting him for Rowan Whitethorn in Throne of Glass which I don't mind but what I do mind is when PEOPLE TAKE GERALT AND CIRI TO FANCAST AS ROWAN AND AELIN!
YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT, LADIES AND GENTS. @viktoriaashleyyx I don't know if you're aware of it but if you are now, sorry you had to find out this way🙏🏾
THE GIANT ASS AGE GAP BETWEEN ROWAELIN IS WILD BUT AT LEAST, THEY'RE BOTH ADULTS. YOU ARE TAKING A FATHER AND DAUGHTER RELATIONSHIP FOR YOUR FAVORITE SHIP?
Have y'all even watched the witcher or read the books because it's clear that you haven't.
Here's the wiki for Ciri (Netflix's version)
I can understand why people would take Ciri/Freya Allen and cast her as Aelin.
Ashen-grey hair
Emerald green eyes
A princess and heir to her kingdom, Cintra
Aelin:
Golden blonde hair
Turquoise eyes ringed with gold
A princess and heir to her kingdom, Terrasen
But there's a catch. Take a look at the family section of her wiki.
You get why it's weird and (let's be honest) controversial to fancast these two as a couple in another series?
Now, I can't talk as I take Geralt as a fancast for Maegor Targaryen (The Cruel) but they do fit. White hair, big, buff, and tough warriors, mommy issues (Sorry Maegor), and they're infertile (Maegor isn't confirmed to be infertile but he always failed to have a kid so....). The only difference is that Geralt is a good lover (If I can recall correctly) and has a kid despite not being his own flesh and blood. (Hell, I might use Yennefer as a fancast for Ashara Dayne.)
And can you imagine how some people will react if a white guy was casted as Rhysand?
Can you imagine how some people will react if a man of color was casted as Rhysand?
Either way, it's a shitstorm. The better and possibly the safest solution is casting a Mediterranean actor.
Anyways, I made this during the night and now, I'm tired. Take care and don't take this post to heart or take it too seriously✌🏾
(Share your thoughts if you like but no arguing, fighting, etc).

★Intro Post!!★
Salutations! Nice to see ya stopping by, why don’t ya grab a cup of tea and ignore the glitter sticking to every surface of this blog? Nobody knows where it came from. It’s probably maybe not radioactive or a biohazard.
Some important snippets that really nail down what who you’re witnessing:
I go by any pronouns, and my preferred name(s) are Meorey, Sunny, Lumen, and Rowan.
I have an art blog!! The URL is sunnysk3tches
I am genderfluid and aroaceflux, emphasis on the aroace part
I am a creative in many different ways, including visual art, writing, and crafting in many of its forms. I’m always looking for new ways to express that creativity!
I am relatively unhinged (no longer attached to the doorframe) and generally pretty cheeky. I don’t take myself too seriously, though I will respect you :]
I am an absolute nerd and know too much about too many topics for my own good
I am a safe person for all trans, queer, and otherwise not cishet individuals! Share your fun neopronouns with me!! :>
I am, to put it lightly, eccentric. I may go on long rambles, share my absurd sense of humor, flit from topic to topic like an over caffeinated moth, or use excessive metaphors and similes in speech though if you have trouble with those do ask for clarification! I won’t mind :)
I am a therian with a few notable theriotypes. Those include cat, moth, crow, and arctic fox.
Hmm, hmm, what now what now.. I suppose a list of things I adore?
★ Shows: Bob’s Burgers, The Good Place, Gravity Falls, Steven Universe, Carmilla, Ramshackle, Helluva Boss, Welcome To Hell, The Owl House, The Great British Baking Show, and a lot more honestly
★ Video Games: Portal, Inscription, Pressure, Subnautica, Minecraft, The Sims 4, Hades, Dialtown, The Stanley Parable, etcetera etcetera
★ Podcasts: 99% Invisible, Welcome to Night Vale, What Roman Mars Can Learn About Con Law, The Magnus Archives, and more I can’t remember right now
★ Musicals: Heathers, SIX the Musical, 36 Questions, EPIC the Musical, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog, Hazbin Hotel, etcetera etcetera
★ Books & Series’: The Skyward Trilogy (and counting? By Brandon Sanderson), The Toby Daye Series (Seanan McGuire), The Sabriel series (Garth Nix), The Manual Of The Planes (D&D book), and probably some I'm forgetting
★ Songs: Butcher Vanity (Flavor Foley), A Human’s Touch (TWRP), The Dismemberment Song (Blue Kid), Writing On The Wall (Will Stetson), Igaku (Trickle), and MANY more I couldn’t possibly list them all..
★ Miscellaneous: (Any unique artistic style such as ascii, hyperpop, found object, etc), (random shiny lights for I am a moth at heart and own many, too many for my own good), (creative and delicious drinks like boba tea, those interesting sodas where you pop down the lid, and any odd flavor of fanta), (anything outdoorsy or nature related, many have described me as having a strong connection with nature and I couldn’t agree more), (collecting random shiny trinkets like a crow)
And now, it is time for you to witness my coveted userbox hoard!

Oh, and important generic DNI to zoos, pedos, TERFs, and proshippers
To everyone else, welcome to my radioactive vessel for glitter and sleep deprivation! Have fun taking mass amounts of psychic damage!
Feel free to send asks, like posts, reblog, or interact with this post in any sfw way!! I’m not a stickler on how you enjoy my blog, if you ever do :)
Tags: squirrel’s art, squirrel’s ramblings, squirrel’s terrors, squirrel’s worlds
!!This mortal vessel is subject to change!!
#Intro post#pinned post#introduction#userboxes#lol I caught u reading these random tags#Well then u get a warning for my awful puns :)#squirrel’s ramblings

Video description: Videoclip depiciting the game show "Um, Actually" discussing Anne Rice and her works on moody vampires interspersed with clips from the AMC+ TV show "Interview with the Vampire" with the characters (in order of appearance): Claudia (@Bailey Bass ), Armand (Assad Zaman), Daniel Malloy (Luke Brandon Field and Eric Bogosian), Louis (Jacob Anderson), Lestat (Sam Reid).
@dropoutdottv @umactuallyshow @samreich
Made this while we were still editing our newest episode on a very dysfunctional family (procrastination? Never heard of it 😋) No hate to either show please! We're huge fans of both @Um Actually ☝️ of @Dropout.tv and Interview with the Vampire on @AMC+ But when I saw them mention Anne Rice, I couldn't resist editing this together. They scenes are from both seasons 1 and 2. Hope you like the clip and check out our podcast ❤️ LiliAnna's Preread Mediathek (wherever podcasts are found)
Show us your fangs! 🧛🏾♂️🧛🏾♀️🧛🏻♂️

This week we’re sinking our teeth into season 1 of AMC+’s ‘Interview With The Vampire’ 🩸⚰️🐀
[emojis for drop of blood, coffin, rat]
As the nights draw in and Autumn approaches, it’s the perfect time to dissect media’s most romanticised monster. Join us on our monster hunt, as we discuss how the show uses the unreliable narrator as a tool of adaptation, Black vampires and who gets to be ‘monstrous’ but also sympathetic, the power of storytelling from the margins, and of course, arguments for queer vampire divorce.
Come inside, we won’t bite… 🦇
