66, 67. Logico Reads Books, the Second Part
I feel bad when people like reblogs I made of someone else's art bc it's probably an accident

Again designed by Fletch and drawn by me, here's Philologist Flint, the biggest nerd to have ever nerded. Or would that be the smallest? Because he looks about 12 and barely taller than Logico. Huh??? Fletch says he looks too much like Gainsboro, but I don't really see it.
Great, book-reading episodes again
DON'T READ THE EPISODES UNTIL YOU'VE FINISHED THE FIRST BOOK!!
"Vive la Revolution!"
Logico cringes as he opens another book… this one is an old-times murder mystery featuring doppelgangers of Amaranth, Navy, Eminence, and Champagne. The Navy fake is named ‘Amiral Marine’. Apparently a single murder happened in the middle of a war.
LOGICO: Thrilling.
He tries to read the book as fast as he possibly can to get any hint of useful information, just like I’m doing writing this. In the end, does it actually matter? (It was "Amaranth".) The murderer got away, and Logico sighs.
LOGICO: This is the way the world is. The bad guys got away with it.
He should talk, he literally lets half the people go. Tuscany?? A few episodes ago?!
Great shit. Yay, next episode.
The end!
"King Arthur and the Murder of a Jester"
This book’s gonna be even worse - it’s about a fantasy kingdom. HOW IS THIS HISTORY??
LOGICO: You can’t just MAKE SHIT UP. [says the talking magnifying glass]
This book has fakies of Lavender, Violet, Dukey, and Rulean. It has many things, mythical locations, talking swords, just- UGH! Logico can barely concentrate on this ‘legendary jester murder tale’, and his thoughts drift away to something slightly more important.
IRRATINO: Look, look, I’m gonna show you something and you will blow your mind.
LOGICO: Look how excited I am. IRRATINO: You take a book, close it, and… OPEN IT AGAIN! At random. And see what it says!! And then it determines your future. It’s called… BIBLIOMANCY. LOGICO: Wow. Amazing. I am thrilled.
Irratino does it over and over again with the biggest grin.
LOGICO: Well, I’m glad you found a way to ‘entertain’ yourself. I need to buy groceries.
Logico finds himself closing and opening the book at random. Just… because. He wants his goat lord back. In the end of the story, the fake Duke Vermillion was cheesing with a sword, and started spinning around with it as a jester was cartwheeling by, and thrust his head off, and now all violence today is apparently his fault
LOGICO: OH MY GODDDDD
That’s it. Books are NO help. He goes to what actually might BE help - the runes on the ruins. He looks at the letters (which don’t spell ‘eulogy’). What they do spell, however, is… I RULE ANON.
Logi doesn’t actually care who this is referring to. Or does he? It might have to do with- no. Nothing can get him to open that book again.
The end!
Deepest apologies
Next episode for bday is better I promise
(crumples into a ball of shame)
The power of Goat Lord compels you!
See you next time murdlers!

The story of Amaranth and the Scales.
Once upon a time, there was a band of 4 bards. They were trapped in the badlands, traveling the wild and unruly streets. Amaranth was my friend; he was given to me by faith and a promise to not include another name on his title. He flew long and hard, and slept much harder. His check engine light was always on, and often his dashboard lights wouldn't react without a bit of percussive maintenance. He was ancient and amethyst, a dragon that refused to give up. I remember when he lost his eye, a joint misplaced, and he jolted forward instead of stopping. The dragon he bumped into was less worse off.
When we formed The Scales with the other bards, we knew the badlands weren't safe. We had Amaranth awakened and were told explicitly to not take him out of the badlands. "He won't make it. He's very weak."
Amaranth and The Scales didn't have another option and the denizens of the badlands were forcing all the bards out. We loaded everything we could carry, thanked the elder neighbor for the weed, and headed onward.
The badlands were hard to escape. We drew protective runes on Amaranth and they proved their worth multiple times during our escape.
We stayed based on the hospitality of others. Our journey would be long and exhausting for all of us. We met a young couple, a princess and a punk, who couldn't communicate. They promised us a week to get our bearings, and instead needed us gone by the next morning. A blessing in disguise, as the punk saw himself above all others because of his bride's false title. The message from the universe telling us to "Turn and face the void. Jump into the unknown." So we did.
We stayed with other bards for a time, my ex and our children. The last of my lineage. I had tried to take them with us, I was willing to make room, but their father resigned: "It's a bad idea. You don't have anyone outside of the badlands." It didn't change the fact that the badlands wanted us dead. Threatening to hunt us down. They were willing to hide, to pretend to not be bards to stay in the badlands. It wasn't safe. I kissed them all goodbye after a week of quiet bliss.
We travelled north, and we had an Aasimar friend who was excited to meet us once we left the borders of the badlands. He gave us a room and a meal, and a lovely time with his many cats.
From there, we headed west. Crossing over what felt like endless brown fields and billboards asking readers if they knew where they would go when they died. Signs on posts by the road calling for any head of a bard. We kept ourselves quiet there, and made as much distance as we possibly good on the long stretches.
We dipped south a bit to reach another friend. Down in the red rocks, she gave us a room that we barely made it to. The only sounds were the chattering of pastors as we travelled in the dark. The other bards slept soundly while I steered Amaranth and his one eye in the pitch blackness. When we felt the ground shaking beneath us, it was already too late. The giant rock worm was travelling at a mad speed, right next to us as we passed under large striped formations and sky bridges. The friend greeted us in the morning and gave a single hug, then never spoke to any of us again. I still find myself wondering if we had offended her in some way.
Onward, the final stretch before we would reach our destination. We found ourselves in stations performing for coin, finding a way to feed ourselves one day at a time. We rode along winding mountains that stretched as far as the eye could see and cut into the pale blue sky. We nearly lost one of our dogs to a great gorge. Luck would have it that we would reach our sanctuary intact, but that was the first time we were stricken with the chance that any one of us could lose our lives on this trip. We decided the mantra was "This is the timeline where we all survive."
Finally, we passed through the lion's gate. The air felt clearer, our joy filled us, and we shouted as we passed over clear, shining lakes. We stopped in a small town, which wasn't as friendly as we had hoped, despite one of the librarians clearly being a bard herself. The other had a big problem with us being there and called for the authorities to have us removed. Thankfully, no force was needed; they asked us to leave and we complied. Not long after, we reached our destination.
We found a space for camping that was somewhat close to a town with resources. We travelled back and forth for some time before finally moving ourselves into the town. This was when Amaranth started getting sick. Days went on, and he was weaker and weaker. Soon, the townsfolk were suspicious of us and our exhausted ancient dragon. Some days, he needed to be dragged from one place to the next, only for him to quietly go back to sleep. He was dying, and there was nothing we could do to prevent it. It was then that I got sick. My legs and feet swelled like watermelons and were bright red and hot. In tears, I got treatment and a cure, but the scars remained. The phantom sensations of pins and needles in my calves still haunt me.
We travelled between three or four different towns, collecting what we could before we landed where the picture above was taken.
Amaranth died there and, with his last breaths, gave us shelter within his shell. Autumn came and with it, the cold rains and puddles underneath us. There was a small settlement of bards across from us, they let us use their bathroom as much as we needed, and when we found a room to stay in, we gave them our old tents and some vegetables in return for their hospitality.
We were warm that winter. Something I can't say was true for the settlement we left behind. The guilt broke us over and over again. We saw the end of our tenure in that shelter, and Amaranth's corpse was taken care of in the proper ways. We would have to continue our journey to a stable home in sanctuary without our ancient amethyst dragon by our side. From his heart, he left us two deep purple amethyst shards to remember him by, and they are tucked away with our most important treasures, as is his memory.
My he rest in peace.

6 - The lovers

The Chained inn was the best place amidst the hustle and bustle of the bazaar to find privacy and sunlight. The fact that they also served fresh coffee and lokma was a bonus, but she wasn’t here to appreciate the locale or the offerings. She was waiting for someone, someone she hasn’t seen face to face in a decade.
Their dealings often led them away from each other, it wasn’t that sparsely they were separated for months at a time. But a decade… Time flew by so fast, sometimes it felt like the world around her moved at a faster pace than her, which must've been a side effect of her lived age.
She hadn’t changed much, the white in her hair claims more space on her head, old pains flare up every now and then, she’s still the same image of a woman she was ten years ago. She had set up a house in Nia Vasileos, and continued her research with the help of two very esteemed institutions, or rather their archives, where she technically wasn’t allowed to go in, but no one needed to know.
She had gathered enough material to fill a journal with runes, excerpts and archaic texts in languages from before the rupture. She had been studying it all morning in preparation.
He should be here soon, she had left him ample clues and a time where to find her, he enjoyed the challenge, to keep that old brain of his working, and the prepare him for the task at hand. They’d need to search every nook and cranny of the city for whatever their patrons are looking for, and as cryptic as they always tend to be, they had little to go off on.
A familiar sense tingled in her brain, a touch of psionic energy she knew well.
"I missed you." His voice echoed in her head, he was near already if he could make the connection.
She lifted her eyes from her journal and scanned the room vigilantly. It was her turn to play. Now where was he…
He was stupidly good at hiding in plain sight, but luckily for her she had a knack for picking up on traces of magic. Their wedding bands were enchanted, and if he wished to sleep on the bed tonight he should be wearing it.
Hints of magic floated in the inn, nothing yet quite as bright as she knew the ring would be. But then… His magic’s signature bright orange light shining through a black glove, on a hand holding a branch of amaranth.
He had established a mind link announcing his presence, so she could reply back.
“I see you, you scoundrel. I’ve missed you too.” She thought warmly, turning her gaze back to her journal to find the right page.
His shadow crept on the table as he sat down beside her. He set the branch of amaranth on her tea plate and placed his hand on top of hers.
She closed her eyes and leaned her head on his shoulder. He smelled like oranges and cedarwood, just like she remembered.
“You’ve kept yourself busy,” there’s a hint of amusement in his voice
She merely hummed in response, suddenly oh-so-tired. She wanted to stay like this longer, her cheek on his soft wool coat, taking in him and the touch of his hand on hers. But they will have plenty of time to catch up later. Some matters she’s found were quite urgent and why she did call on him to join her here.
“There’s something over this city, I can feel the pull on the weave, something is here that is not supposed to,” she nodded towards the filled spread, a web of runes, names, titles, “I can’t make sense of this city, maybe you’ll be able to. And if you’ve missed high society… now's your chance to make use of that silver tongue of yours”.
“Aw, you need me to talk to people for you?”
She was never the social one, the ten years she spent mostly on her own, with only brief acquaintances to map out her surroundings. She knew he would slip into the city’s hidden inner circles with ease.
“That. And to accompany me to an obelisk, there’s something carved on it that has made me bang my head against the stone for a while now. I'm sure it’ll lead somewhere, I need your fresh set of eyes.”
“What is this? Archmage Harrow unable to decipher a glyph? My, the world really did end.”
“You know what, to this day I think,I would not have considered partnering up with you in a past life, or if the circumstances didn’t force us, you’re insufferable”, she snapped and then paused, “Sometimes” she lifted her hand to pat him on the cheek, and scratched his stubble that he for sure groomed before coming here.
“Isn’t fate and chance funny like that”, he turns his head to look at her, “it’s a good thing we grew on each other yeah? Couldn’t think of a better person to be trapped with.”
She shot him a glaring side-eye, they’ve been through this already and by now she knows he’s merely joking.
“Aaand, couldn’t think of a better person to bless me with her arcane gifts…” he draws his sentence out.
She turned her head towards him and raised an eyebrow, challenging him to finish his thought.
“...that will keep be unharmed and—”
“The obelisk,” she interrupted him and flipped her journal shut, sandwiching his fingers between the covers.
#no proofreading yet again#missed an opportinity to post this on valentines day but baaah#meant to ge this done by sunday anyway#the schedule is more of a suggestion#tldr lucien and viessa reunite after 10 year and lucien is still a lil bitch but viessa loves him so much#there be zombies under the obelisk that should not be there#and the whole city is a lil kooky they got plenty of cleanup to do#and they need to find naria (name under consctruction) to join their gaggle of weirdos#tarot series#armed asshats

two nights ago I dreamed my teeth came loose I could not resist the old urge- to pull to rip them out by the root and when I did so I felt no pain- only relief I dreamed of another woman who collected my fallen molars and cast them as if runes She held a sprig of amaranth tightly yet sweetly between her own sharp teeth and in my fortune we saw the truth gazing up unto the stars waiting for the dawn to rise above the dunes

Samwena in 10x14
I used to think there wasn't any Samwena in the show before their first team-up in 10x18 "Book of the Damned." Then I discovered Sam's fascinated, little smile in 10x07 when he reads about Rowena online and says her name for the first time. And here he goes again in 10x14...
Mind you, he has only ever seen Rowena a single time at this point, in 10x07. But this is the same smile he'd been wearing when reading about the demon-killing spell she created personally. Guess he really just likes her style? One more reason why it was only a matter of time that he'd contact her. This boy is waaaayyyy too fascinated not to. And it took only 4 more episodes till he did... (This is actually a really nice, subtle foreshadowing to their team-up, I just never noticed it before.)
#samwena#sam#rowena#cain#crowley#spn#10x14#yes of course I love that this spell is called rune of AMARANTH <3#samwitch#sam x rowena#rune of amaranth#amaranthmeta

I consider "Fan Fiction" to be a mixed bag, but it's definitely better than "The Executioner's Song," which has one of the Carver era's worst fight scenes. Scratch that, fight episodes. It all hinges on an intended-to-be-epic battle with Cain, yet the lack of preparations renders it boring. With nearly half the season to go, we know Dean will win; the only suspense could be in how. Plot armor, that's how. The characters' established strengths and weaknesses play little role in Dean and Cain's big showdown.
Once they have Cain in a devil's trap, what's the hurry? He says that it won't hold him long, but why wouldn't it? His opponents are drawing on the Men of Letters archives, decades of hunting experience, and King Kraken-Warehouse Crowley's material resources. If a simple star-shaped rail network planned by a 19th-century mortal could keep out Azazel until the magic "equivalent of an A-bomb" ("All Hell Breaks Loose, Part 2"), then surely this devil's trap should keep Cain in for more than 10 minutes.
Then there are all the ways they could weaken Cain, yet don't bother with. As much as I dislike the Carver-era retcon about paralyzing devil's-trap bullets, it's been emphasized too much, in too many episodes, for me to not think about it now. Iron cables? Iron bullets? Even holy water, while it probably wouldn't injure Cain, might sting his eyes and give Dean a little bit of an edge. Basically, if we know the characters have access to something that works on demons, they should throw that at Cain before Dean ever steps into the trap.
Minor complaint: Could they not have given the purple-glowy disguise spell a real name? "Rune of amaranth"? OK, yes, amaranth comes in purple-flowered and purplish-leaved varieties, but that's weak. Even the episode commentary acknowledges that they picked the word for no better reason than that it sounded cool. Not exactly worldbuilding at its finest.
I'm willing to give the episode 2 things:
I like Sam's creepy "true crime" hobby. We know from "Swan Song" that Sam has the capacity to enjoy absolutely horrific violence, even if he usually refrains from it. We also know, from most of the show's episodes, that he tries to incorporate normalcy into his life. Combined, these two aspects of Sam make his interest in serial killers feel oddly appropriate.
At least the heroes' refusal to use anything means that they don't use holy oil, which is supposed to be very rare and yet keeps popping up. ::Grr.:: It's season 10, I'll take my wins where I can get them.
Supernatural Battle of the Episodes!
Looks like Fan Fiction won its 9th battle! One more to make it to the Hall of Fame! Is it strong enough to beat the next contender?
Bring 'em out Chuck!
Chuck: For Fan Fiction's final match, we have The Executioner 's Song - Cain resurfaces and is killing male members of his bloodline! Dean takes him on in a barn before Cain kills a young boy. Dean kills him with The First Blade!

Secret Papyrus (Info Dump)
Warnings: Mentions of violence and emotional distance.
Rune - Secret Papyrus
Personality: He keeps secrets. He guards his secrets closely, but he is also a bit of a villain. He's cruel, cold, and extremely intelligent. He knows how to manipulate situations to his advantage and is untethered by an AU. He is quite cunning and is not afraid to trick his enemies into his death traps. He can be a kind and caring person to those he cares about, but getting that close is unusual. He is wary of getting too close to others and frequently becomes hostile when they do. He has the power to make people unable to say or describe his name.
Appearance: He looks like an average skeleton. He has sharp fangs. His eye lights can change between orange, purple, glaucous, amaranth, and silver. His main eye lights are red, however. He often smells like red velvet marble cake. He has a noticeable scar on his right eye that looks similar to that of a lightning strike.
(But with some red.)

Serenity Rune

Hello. This is Serenity Rune, a gothic rock/metal musician from Sunset Valley who first appeared in The Sims 3.
Serenity Rune, who was born a natural blonde, is the daughter of classical musician Steven Rune and science journalist Celia Avon. Growing up as a toddler, she initially stated that she was to be a classical musician just like her father was. However, by the time she was in elementary school, she began disliking classical music and started listening to metal. Upon reaching high school, she bleached her hair and decided to cut it into a shaggy hairstyle with a bang completely covering her left eye, a hairstyle she would go on to have for most of her career. She rocked numerous hair colors during high school (including blonde, silver, pink, and teal), but upon becoming a young adult, she took the plunge and decided to dye her hair jet black. She would later surpass her father to become the most honorable musician in the history of her family's legendary music career, which began with Steven's great grandfather. Nothing can stop her from pursuing the talent that she deserves.
Serenity Rune's influences are Emilia Suhonen (guitarist for hard rock band The Rasmus, who represented Finland at Eurovision 2022), Elize Ryd (lead singer of Swedish metal band Amaranthe), and Hayley Williams (lead singer of American emo rock band Paramore). Her traits are Music Lover, Active, and Loyal.
Serenity Rune shares her name with the Austrian metal band Serenity and the multiplayer video game Runes of Magic, but was not actually named after either property. She is instead named after the Serenity Falls lot in the console version of The Sims 2: Pets, with her last name coming from a reference to a quest in The Sims Medieval.
Serenity is one of the newest members of The Crypt O’ Club (more information: https://the-crypt-o-club.tumblr.com)
Serenity is available to download at: https://www.curseforge.com/sims4/sims-households/serenity-rune

Magical Compendium: Melkor
Below are my notes that I developed for working with Melkor as a pop culture pagan/chaos magician/I don’t like labels. My primary focus here is on details that can be most directly utilized in spiritual practice/magical workings (e.g. correspondences), but more general information is supplied as well in order to give greater context and develop themes.
I take a generally sympathetic and positive slant, so if that’s not in alignment with your tastes, you probably won’t get much out of this post. Furthermore, I admit that my knowledge of this subject is fragmentary at best and make no claims to expertise. I am simply someone with great interest in this figure/character.
Names:
True (Valarin) Name: unknown
Quenya Name: Melkor, “He Who Arises in Might”; older form Melkórë
Sindarin Names: (after stealing the Silmarils) Morgoth, “Black Foe”/“Dark Tyrant”; Bauglir, “the Constrainer”
Names given by Mairon in Númenórean cult worship: Lord of All, Giver of Freedom, Lord of the Darkness
Names given by himself: King of the World, Master of the Fates of Arda
“It is he whose name is not now spoken; for the Valar have deceived you concerning him, putting forward the name of Eru, a phantom devised in the folly of their hearts, seeking to enchain Men in servitude to themselves. For they are the oracle of this Eru, which speaks only what they will. But he that is their master shall yet prevail, and he will deliver you from this phantom; and his name is Melkor, Lord of All, Giver of Freedom, and he shall make you stronger than they” (Silmarillion, Akallabêth, p. 271).
Title/Occupation: First Dark Lord
Race: Ainur/Valar/Aratar
Texts: The Silmarillion (Ainulindalë, Valaquenta, Quenta Silmarillion, Akallabêth), Morgoth’s Ring, Ósanwe-kenta
Domains: All*
“To Melkor among the Ainur had been given the greatest gifts of power and knowledge, and he had a share in all the gifts of his brethren” (Silmarillion, Ainulindalë, p.16).
Patron of: children; anyone who creates—artists, musicians, artisans, craftspeople, inventors, engineers; anyone who works with words—linguists, writers, poets; outcasts, criminals, prisoners
“From the first he was greatly interested in “language”, that talent that the Eruhíni would have by nature; but we did not at once perceive the malice in this interest, for many of us shared it, and Aulë above all. But in time we discovered that he made a language for those who served him; and he has learned our tongue with ease. He has great skill in this matter. Beyond doubt he will master all tongues, even the fair speech of the Eldar" (Manwë about Melkor to the Elves, Ósanwe-kenta).
Themes: existence (universe/cosmos/creation/Eä)/nonexistence (Void), parent/child, power/powerlessness, creation/destruction, order/chaos, purity/corruption, divinity/humanity, life/death
Colors: galaxy, black, rainbow, light
Elements/Energies: music, fire, ice, smoke, storm, lightning, darkness/shadow, void
“And he descended upon Arda in power and majesty greater than any other of the Valar, as a mountain that wades in the sea and has its head above the clouds and is clad in ice and crowned with smoke and fire; and the light of the eyes of Melkor was like a flame that withers with heat and pierces with a deadly cold” (Silmarillion, Ainulindalë, p. 22).
Magical Disciplines:
Creation magic/art or music magic/chaos magic/tulpamancy
Corruption magic
Magical languages, runes, and incantations
Dark magical races/creatures: orcs, dragons (draconic magic), werewolves, vampires, evil fay/spirits
