hiii have you ever drawn the blues and reds? what do you think they look like?

Heyo first ever ask! I had not drawn them before, but here is a doodle of my first impressions. They would look very similar to the red and blues with minor changes (except for Simmons counterpart).

Detailed notes

Loco: Has a comically large mustache. He also sometimes has a lazy eye

Temple: Wears contacts. After Biff's death, he also wears Biff earrings and dog tag

Buckey: Just different piercings and haircut

Surge: Sarge look-alike though they have different scars (Surge has a lot more knife scars)

Biff: Floofy hair, tinted glasses, and matching earrings with Temple

Gene: He is Latino, has acne and heterochromia eyes (which he chooses to hide)

Cronut: They are French-Korean, and have hearing aids. Their blast scar is on the opposite side of Donuts.

Temple is aroflux and gay. He is also a trans man(he/him) and would kill if clocked.

Biff is omnisexual with a heavy fem lean.

Buckey is pansexual.

Loco doesn’t label himself. He just falls for whoever he falls for

Surge is aroace.

Cronut is asexual and gay.

Gene is nonbinary and uses they/he/it and is gay.

Lorenzo is agender and uses any pronoun.

Felix is a trans man who uses he/they. He’s on the aroace spectrum and he’s biromantic.

Siris is on the aroace spectrum.

Locus is genderfuild and their pronouns changes fairly often. They mainly use they, he, or she. She also is only attracted to men and asexual.

Who am I going to redeem if I ever redeem someone? The most likely to be redeemed are Loco and Surge!

Hm…. If Biff was alive, he’d probably be not a bad guy. Temple can die :3 he’s a butt.

Lorenzo can be redeemed because he has a name similar to my brother’s. I don’t know about anyone else.

Doc and Donut have their redemption arcs later of course :3

Felix doesn’t get a redemption arc, but if he has to stick around he gets the pxss taken out of him. (Is that a saying???)

And because I can’t stop myself:

Felix, Temple, Gene find Simmons mildly attractive. But in an angry way. Like why is this ugly nerd kind of not as ugly as I think he is??? He’s obviously not hot in any way, but I like some of the faces he makes.

Not a full crush, just an attraction.

I have a very specific interaction between Simmons and Felix that kind of turned Felix on, but he was so angry at the time he didn’t want to acknowledge it. Meanwhile Simmons desperately hopes Felix doesn’t stab him for his surprisingly good bluff.

I like to imagine that Blues and Reds (BnR) are such opposites to the Reds and Blues (RnB) that the majority of the BnR are cis Straight people to some degree and the RnB are majority Queers in various degrees.

I also like to imagine that some RnB members cause Sxxuality crisis’ for certain BnR members.

To me:

For Gene and Temple, it’s Simmons (Pretty Boy)

For Cronut, it’s Tucker (Handsome guy)

For Bucky, it’s Donut and Caboose (These two for different reasons)

All but the Simmons one can change.

If I add Locus and Grif:

Locus- Gene, Bucky, Surge

Grif- Cronut

I left Loco out because he wouldn’t think it’s very professional to like who he sees as coworkers or people he just met and aren’t very close with yet.

Who Loco calls pretty as an observation/ compliment: Donut, Simmons

Who Loco calls handsome as an observation/ compliment: Locus, Grif, Tucker

Now you may be wondering, what about Sarge?

Honestly, Sarge is like a twin brother and reflection to Surge.

Sarge obviously never took his helmet off so the others don’t know what he looks like.

I’m just like with Simmons:

BnR have late night meetings (obviously a secret) and Gene is complaining with back handed insults (reverse Back handed compliments) with an increasing red face while frowning and the others are like- Dude, what are you talking about? Dumb pretty face?? Disgustingly soft D cup???

Loco then says, “The pretty maroon one is coming!”

Gene is just like shxt act natural!

Then Simmons just walks in:

With and without glasses.

So like obviously he doesn’t go to bed with his binder on and why would he put it on just to get water?

Temple stares like a dumb Fxck, Gene tries not to. Bucky tries not to fixate on a man’s boobs, but he’s a D cup so it’s hard. Cronut internally commends the simple clothing style. Surge looks a way for some reason.

Loco strikes up a Conversation with Simmons and gets invited to a sleep over with Caboose.

“He’s still in the pillow fort, but he fell a sleep coloring. I’ll be reading a computer manual, but you can come if you want.”

“Sure!”

“Well I’ll leave you guys to your collective late night bathroom break!”

“I still can’t believe he believed that.”

when you realize that the only difference between Surge and Sarge is that Surge has actually lost one of his men (<-Biff)

we can se how it effects him when he is talking to Sarge

while Surge will poke fun at the blues and reds he is not outright mean to them or calls any of them useless (<- from what i remember)

and he gets super defensive when Sarge acts like the death of a teammate is just a joke.

Because Sarge WANTS to be able to make fun of and order his orange soldier but he can’t because Biff is dead.

he is jealous of what Sarge has.

RvB Friendship Fray- Round One, Part Two, Poll Six

how r you so good at drawing (halo) armor. You’re literally one of the best I’ve ever seen. Tips please if possible? (specifically for the shapes of the armor)

Oh god heLLO; I'm super bad at explaining my process of drawing RvB armor, as it's been multiple years since I've done it up until recently, so I'm super rusty but I will do my best to explain myself!!!

I've never made any sort of tip guide or tutorial, so please bear with me!

USE REFERENCES!!! This can go for renders from the Halo games directly (ArtStation was a great place to start, I'm not sure how things are post AI ""art"" surge, though) but at the very least, screenshot the heCK out of the series from whatever season you want to draw. There are a lot of different angles, and after they started to animate, it made it easier to get references with arms up or splayed out to the sides, or legs bent and hand motions!! Depends on what you're looking for!!

For this Reference, I used a Halo 3 render, as well as the Caboose-isms poster render. There are more clear renders out there, I'm sure!

First step that I take in learning to draw a new set of armor is color coding the sections that I'm going to draw, and then labeling them with points of interest that make me remember the detail later; Like grooves, or a bevel that looks weird or silly. Color coding and labelling the parts made it easier for me to break it down into smaller bits to draw piece by piece, bc let's face it; Armor can be super tedious and daunting, especially if you're just starting out.

Remember It's ALL SHAPES!!! IT'S JUST SHAPES!!!! Break them down into more simple shapes to find what works best for you! Keep it loose in the sketch stage, so you don't get lost in the pesky details

Remember that the armor goes on TOP of a body, and isn't a part of their body! Halo Infinite dOES have prosthetics that are a bit smaller than the armor, which adds depth and flavor to your armor though!

When in doubt, draw it larger than you mean to, and size it down to fit your other pieces!

SIMPLIFY IT!!! TRACE TO LEARN!!!! Really just figure out where the pieces go and put them together like a puzzle! Armor is simply just, hard, and there's no easy way to learn quickly how to do it efficiently and well; It really does take a lot of practice and trying and sketching and watching clips and staring at other's art to maybe notice shortcuts or even details you didn't notice before!!

But the biggest tip that I can give you is just, don't be afraid to make "bad art" don't be afraid to draw "bad armor" !!! It doesn't have to be perfect, the details don't all have to align on model 100% of the time! All of my art, paintings and all, have things that I fudged or missed, or messed up on and didn't notice, but I still have fun painting and drawing because I like making people laugh with my comics and I like having them feel stuff about my paintings!

rarity of rvb discs is kind of in proportion to the popularity of dvds over time. early rvb? you know, dvds from the 2000s? common as dirt. it is pretty easy to turn up a dusty old copy of season 2 or something. blu ray is harder because they are in sets that didn't exist until later, and they're sought after because it's less work hunting down a set and better quality. 6-13 are also doable but you probably aren't going to find the blu-ray set of the chorus trilogy easily. shisno paradox and singularity are still recent enough that there's stock floating around.

a lot of what seems to be really surging in price is sets because, once again, the convenience. if you want to piece together owning the show and are patient and diligent it's not horrible to try to do even now unless what you specifically want is a copy of, like, the big 1-10 box. (And even that you can get lucky on if you watch, you can still get it pretty close to retail if you're patient.)

physical copies of rvb season 15, though?

fucking impossible to find. i occasionally still look for it just for fun. the last time i saw one for sale at an even remotely affordable price if at all was probably 3 or 4 years ago and it was australian. (i'm not sure what's up with that, but there seems to be availability in more things specifically from australia?)

i'm wondering if we just hit the point in the cycle where 15's backlash meant it didn't sell well, on top of how sales of physical media are much lower than they used to be, and we'd finally had long enough for people to start to go "you know, 15 wasn't that bad actually."
