Fucking love the idea of the chassis being an amplifier because you kinda get the best of both worlds from the whole chassis theory argument where wheatley's still being influenced but you keep the complexity of his character intact, plus you get the double whammy existential crisis of being driven to do horrible things but still having to deal with the fact after you come to your senses that no matter which way you look at it was still all you. #portal #portal 2 #wheatley #bc like the chassis definitely AFFECTED wheat man. but i think that some people it was like mind control??? and nah its more like #someones being a big asshole to you and you half-jokingly go in your head “im gonna kill this person”. because you're genuinely that annoye #but you dont actually do it bc obviously you shouldnt and you were never intending to actually do so.#yeah imagine if you actually DID that #you HAD that thought. you FELT that anger.#and the only thing that you needed to pull the trigger on that gun was a little push over the cliff. and you put yourself on the edge of it #imagine that and thats how i see that #a lot of the stuff wheatley blurts out in the chassis is from like a genuine place too #he sounds genuinely hurt #genuinely angry and sad and confused #hes genuinely THAT upset.#plus there are even points where he seems to be enjoying his time in the chassis.#he does these goofy villain lines and laughs at the thought of you fucking dying #obviously the chassis is a terrible thing to be in and the bad moments outweigh the good but nontheless.#this seems less like straight up direct control #or just him functioning normally #this sounds like what happens when you remove a very fucked up man's inhibitions and just let him go apeshit #because lets be real. wheatleys always been slightly unhinged. just in the funne haha tumblr way up until that point #he smashed a window casually and briefly laughed while a bunch of turrets were being thrown into a fire #hes not exactly evil either but hes definitley not like #okay #i mean we all knew that look at the fucking boss battle lines but #anyways the point is i fucking love the implications of that #the existential crisis that would cause #imagine going through that and having to question like #what was you? did you really want all of that? did you ALWAYS want it? where does the chassis begin and you END?#GODDDDD that headcannon goes so hard

You know, sometimes I think about how carmen and gray staying away is actually a great lesson that sometimes some things just don't work and you just have to live with it, but then I think about how talking it out would also be a great lesson that sometimes even the stuff that was inconceiveable to you mignt work if you tried hard enough also cause it works narratively and I'm always gonna choose the latter but interesting to think about.

As someone kinda cynical i probably would have accepted the first one a lot more if they cut gray after the pilot. (Derogatory)😒

Carmen lost her bestie from VILE. Sucks but it happens. She's got new and true ones...ill..allow it. Cowards.😒

But I heavily lean towards the latter too because! Of episode 6 and how Carmen as she gets a stronger support system only continues to prove that losing gray is niggling at her heart because him being there in a way or form matters to her still and accepting that he's VILE and she's not hasn't helped at all.

Accepting in her mind that carmen would hurt his new chance didn't make her happy

Accepting he wouldn't come back didn't sever those feelings when she said goodbye

Finally calling him a traitor and ending her attachment to him as finitely as one could was traumatic

Staying away is a reality shes had to accept a lot now and her distressful reaction just gets worse every time. None of those are nice framings

And on Gray's side " a league of your own" going from a supportive phrase to one of him using it as separation in the pilot and ending the series still feeling that separation like she doesn't even like him pisses me off 😭

Hes also been living with that *truth* and ...ughhhh its not what they want.

That resignation is part of whats hurting them and its been there since the beginning and they want to escape it [enough to make some WILD choices]

And maybe not talk [lol they talk a lot] but allowing their care to affect and change the other would be best cause they're at their best when they admit they wanna care about each other

He.hehehehehe he gave up everything he cared about for her...hehehehehe she likes him enough to look at a second chance like 🥺

It can't happen [yet👀] because forget saying wrong is right and being used as a placeholder is wack

But I COULD somewhat reconcile that grays nature has him smiling in his very last frame. Even if there was no reconnection, he still held on to her memory and is on her side now at least even apart. It didn't work out...he'll live.

And maybe she can live forever with ACME or whoever just telling her she didn't kill him and he's cool now.

But-

No. Meet each other again and kiss kiss fall in love. the moment he sadly goes " she doesn't need me complicating her life " my heels kick in on thinking his arc isn't quite done because that is an idea about himself he hasn't broken and can't if he pretends that statement is true. She didn't need him she wanted him. And thus yeah she needs him.

Youre right the ending as is can have its value its just.

If it ends with the same conclusion they started with...well... 😒well! I'm a little too biased to pretend I'm ok with the former.

this is adjacent to the food ask that the other anon sent- do any of your characters have food-related issues? you mentioned Danny's lactose intolerance, but are there some foods that the cast just can't have or else their stomach will Fucking Riot?

i can't really think of anything that i didn't mention! i figure it would be weird to randomly say caroline has IBS or elaine has celiac's disease when we haven't seen that at all fjksdjsj sorry this is a boring answer!! i think elaine does have a sensitive stomach though, she eats like a bird. idk if this counts, but casper doesn't drink caffeine or smoke weed because they both make him super anxious and nauseous, rip (alcohol does too but he drinks anyway because college). ummm austin always gives up sugar for lent so it makes him sick when he eats it again? mikaela hates fake sugar sweeteners because they give her a headache (REAL!!! aspartame gives me and my dad the worst migraines ever)

you know what i'm making this up on the spot but sadie strikes me as a kid with a peanut allergy

#i miss him so much going through old photos on my laptop and like every second photo i took was an anton photo #there were so many little things about him that will never be there again. But I'm so happy i got to see them even the disgusting ones.#he would lay on my feet when i was cutting vegetables. he would flatten his ears as a way of saying hi.#he would do his best impression of a human hello when encountering people on his walks. he loved to eat carrots #and whenever he got one he'd run off to his bed with it and the crunching would be so loud.#he could notice when people were angry or sad and he'd try to comfort me and lick my face when i was crying.#we'd throw sticks for him into wheat fields and he'd lose them in there and prance like a deer only his ears sticking out.#he smelled really awful most of the time. he loved to eat shit and dead animals.#he was really scared of sheep and skylarks and our neighbors cat #he loved swimming and when he first learned how he splashed around so much like a little fountain.#he liked to sleep with his head on my shoes. at night i would hear the tap of his little feet #and then a thump when he'd lay down against my parents bedroom door and then a really loud sigh.#he once got on the table and ate the bolognaise when my mom was picking me up from school but he left a plateful for me #he made genuinely the strangest noises I've ever heard a dog produce.#after i moved out he was always so happy when i came to visit. he loved people #when he was younger there were a few trigger words that made him so excited he'd run up the stairs and howl. one of them was my sisters nam #as he got older he became more of a baby and so cuddly and calm.#i'm really sad that i didn't get to say goodbye to him or be there when he died but i hope he knew how much i love him
