i am staying so far away from the discourse and izcourse, i have my own thoughts and opinions on it but i just want to see gay pirates and seawitch seagulls please, not people yelling at each other and certainly not people shouting at the cast and crew!!
if you want someone to shout at, shout at hbo max for cutting the show and not paying their actors and writers and the crew !! the creators need our support more than ever because of the strikes, if you haven't forgotten !! stop yelling at them and start yelling at the greedy companies!!

It's crazy that these strikes are happening given that all the writers and actors are asking for is less than 0.3% of the revenue these studios make.

I spoke to my dad who's been on strike a few hours ago, and he said this is absolutely true. The studios were still hoping they could starve out the writers, and didn't expect the general public to be so strongly on the union's side still 5 months in.
He's lived through four WGA strikes, and he says the energy and solidarity he's seen both inside and outside the union has been far beyond what has ever been present before. The internet ate Drew Barrymore alive for scabbing, and within days the studios were back at the negotiating table giving in to almost every demand.
Thanks guys. This really was a team effort ❤️❤️ #eatthefuckingrich

THE PICKET LINE: A ROAD TO PAY EQUITY AND SUSTAINABILITY - WOODSTOCK FILM FESTIVAL
youtube
SPEAKERS: Neil Gaiman, Dana Weissman, Jo Miller
MODERATOR: Thelma Adams
The Creative Industry has been radically transformed in the last several years due to the pandemic, economic turmoil, advances in digital technology, and production efficiencies.
Yet, creators of content, writers, actors, and many others that are instrumental to media development are still struggling to ensure economic sustainability.
To date, over 11,000 writers and 150,000 members of SAG AFTRA have taken up protest to be heard and galvanize change.
Come hear as the experts and those on the front lines, union members from Writers Guild of America East (WGAE), and Screen Actors Guild/ Aftra, discuss what has been done to update contracts that no longer serve current working conditions, and a critical look at what the public can do to support their efforts.
New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) advocates for equality in the moving image industry and supports women in every stage of their careers. Great news! The WGA and the AMPTP have reached a tentative agreement for a 3 year contract! More details about the agreement to come from the Guild, as it has yet to be signed and has additional rounds of approval before it is final and the strike order is lifted, but this is huge!
Major respect and congratulations to the WGA leadership, WGA negotiation committee, strike captains, and members of the WGA for standing firm in their strike and fighting for a fair contract. Major respect and congratulations to everyone impacted by this strike, including sister unions and to the allies and those who stood in solidarity!
The end of this month was the deadline in terms of setting up writer’s rooms to create seasons of TV for 2024, so this tentative agreement potentially came just in the nick of time.
Hopefully a fair contract for SAG-AFTRA is to follow.
Among many, many other things, this means that if The Bear season 3 is in fact renewed and a new series is ordered, if all goes well it could be back on air by next summer.
