about the lightsaber picture, i think it's worth noting that i discovered nick and followed him on social media mid 2018 (when he lived with austin kevitch) (austin is in the left corner of that photo) and i /literally/ thought he was dating austin until the whole austin dating c•mila c•bello thing. there's a million videos, some of which still floating around where they were... just acting like boyfriends. like nick adjusting austin's clothes at dinner or something. there's still a ton of photos on nick's ig with austin that look.... boyfriend-y . i have a whole bunch of conspiracies about nick and austin that make me sound insane but i wont go into them unprompted.

Is what I bowled yesterday evening.

Not bad. I usually start with my highest score and immediately work my way down from there.

This time around the occasion was a rescheduled holiday party: from the midst of December into the middle of January.

I wouldn't mind if it was always the middle of January, to be honest.

Either way, the occasion was yet more proof to me that I've gotta get out of the edit suite more often to check out what's going on in the production/post-production/live production rest of the world. A friend of mine with whom I spoke after the bowling already intentionally does this. They visit other production units and events to see how other teams accomplish the same things. My friend talks to people like me because post-production is a whole other universe from live production no matter how adjacent a universe it is. More than any other time, there are tools that allow us to do things that were unequivocally impossible not even a year ago.

How is each of us using them?

And what should the guardrails for this new technology be?

I spoke with a number of photographers yesterday, conversations that reminded me how tight the collaboration between production and post-production can be because of what's possible now.

The old ways (far back as 2023) no longer apply. Not if we wanna take advantage of the impossible. Not if we wanna accomplish greater, more impressive things together.

So anyway. I always forget how productive these get-togethers are. A little how's the family. A little what ya doing? A little how're you doing it? And a bit of show 'n tell.

I think with Yor being so perceptive, she picks up on little things often (like we saw in ch 103). i believe this would impact loid more so than the usual person, because he is a spy and fakes every part of himself, so to be seen is simultaneously desirable and horrifying. like, it makes him torn between wanting to accept and reciprocate the love, or distancing himself so that it doesn't happen again.

thats mostly what the last panel is about, that dichotomy between 'omg this person noticed this about me, is this love' and 'oh shit this person noticed this about me, is this Doom'

Truly the all time funniest writer thing is when you're doing edits and you think to yourself "omg I've got the PERFeCT sentence to add right here!" and then you stick it in all excited, only to find that literally three lines down you have virtually that exact same sentence in the draft already.
