Why do you spell Abraham with v? Is it a hebrew way to spell it? I'm not a native english (nor hebrew) speaker so I'm used to seeing names spelled either in my mother tongue or in the 'standard' english way

And sometimes there's even more weird shit done to the word or name like in "Solomon".

I don't like to write Hebrew names in their anglicized way because I don't want Jewish words and language to be suppressed. The only time I'll write things in their anglicized way is if I'm explaining myself to people who don't know.

When Benjamin reached his destination on horseback, the moon was full and illuminated his path. Dismounting, he patted the snorting beast’s neck, then appraised his surroundings with caution. Leafless, bone-like branches reached out to him overhead, and aside from the occasional hoot of an owl, all was eerily still…too still for comfort.

In all fairness, it seemed to have slipped his mind too. Rhys just hadn't recalled - for some reason - that the day prior was Samuel's birthday. Likely it was because Samuel himself hadn't been around. Either way, he felt guilty and a little frustrated over it. Hopefully the lovely cake, made of dark chocolate and a coffee-vanilla frosting, would help make up for some of it. On top of that, Rhys wondered if he could have done more for Samuel. Perhaps they could have explored an alien land together and made discoveries... He'd have to ask Samuel what he wanted.

Samuel was a fully grown man, and full grown men didn't squirm under their boyfriend's scrutinizing tones...that didn't mean he didn't at least wiggle slightly as Samuel stood up from his bed, scratching at the back of his neck sheepishly.

"Well...I forgot?" That didn't work as a good enough answer, but it was all Samuel had really. Another one of those moments where he got caught up and lost in his work, too excited about the new designs for hydro expandors and how they could function for planes...hm, maybe he needed to set an alarm? He'd need to test a few, an alarm could be dangerous if he had a particularly reactive experiment going, so maybe some sort of silencer or other option...

He went quiet then, ears flicking as Samuel became lost in thought for a moment before he snapped back to the present, cheeks flushing a light blue as he held out a comforting hand to Rhys. He knew his boyfriend wanted some touch, Samuel had to remember that Rhys tended to place more emotional worth on things like birthdays to make up for what they both missed over their lives.

"Look," He said softly, "How about I make it up to you and tomorrow night we can pretend that it's my birthday, alright? I mean, I'm not going to say no to having cake right now, but we can do something proper if you want."

After a moment, he snorted and added on, "And if you want, then next year you have my full permission to kick my door down and drag me away from my work."
