🟨 Modding Poses for Cyberpunk 2077 (and general modding reminders!)

It's really exciting to see everyone getting into modding latetly, especially pose making 🤏

I want to throw a couple of resources into One Big Post to make sure everyone has everything to get started- BUT FIRST

a couple of general Modding Reminders 🤲

▶ Remember that modding, just like any other creative outlet, is supposed to be fun!

When a project start to frustrate you, make you doubt your ability/skills, when you start comparing yourselves to others- Stop! Disconnect, and take a break, walk a bit, splash water on your face, eat something! It's really easy to spiral down (been there, done that) It's important to remind yourself of why you're modding in the first place! Take a look at your inspiration, your blorbos Don't lock your brain into One Frustrating Project; have a couple of smaller projects or ideas on the side that you can go to when the creative juice is flowing to not get stuck on one particular project

▶ Modding is exciting, and you want to mod ALL the things asap! Other do as well, and might have the same ideas

It can be frustrating to see someone else release a mod that you thought of doing, that might've been sitting in your to-do list for a long time. That's ok! It's normal to feel that way, but don't let that sap your creativity Someone made a pose/pose pack that is similar to what you wanted to make? Do it anyway! It won't be the same, because it comes from you! This applies to general modding as well, to clothes, to recolors Everyone have their own vision of things. It might be a similar pose, but the body language is different, the hands sit on the skin differently... The model you want to port won't have the same materials, normal map, or colors as the one that is already available! Modding is accessible by everyone. Nobody owns ideas, or references, or models available on the internet. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, and mod what you want, when you want to, and how you want to!

With the reminders out of the way, here's everything you'll need to get into Pose Making! I see this is something that a lot of you want to tackle, and it's better to have everything ready to get started 🤲

This is the first step! With those templates, you'll be able to start creating the poses in Blender using the Cyberpunk's body models (Woman, Man, Man Big...) ⚠ Be sure to get the proper requirements and versions!

🔹 PinkyDude's Tutorial - Retargeting Animations 🟠 ROKOKO PLUGIN

OPTIONAL If you want your poses to be available for other rigs (Man poses for Man Big, or Woman poses for Man, etc) this is how you achieve that! You'll learn all about retargeting. It's also useful if you want to import other games's animation/poses into CP77

Both type of additions are compatible with each others! I personally recommend working on the AMM addition first, as you'll be able to use the same files and mod structure later for the Photomode addition :D

OPTIONAL The Nibble to NPC 2.0 mod has a resource pack for modder to make their poses pack compatible with the Nibble Replacer! Make sure to update all of the requirements, and AMM, to have the ability to pose NPCs using custom poses in Photomode

⚠ KNOWN ISSUE | T-posing

You probably saw me and a couple of other pose modders and users complain about the T-posing issue- it's sadly still ongoing, and no real fix has been found so far. We tried using unique workspots and entities for each packs, but they somehow keep overwriting one another in really random ways (MA and MB are compatible, but sometimes MA and WA won't be useable together? Sometimes you won't be able to use different packs from a same modder, etc) Once (if!) we find a fix, we'll be sure to update our mods and to share the knowledge with y'all 😩 for now, we make do

because @magicallulu7 has been working very hard to compound my brainrot about Kitiver, I now have a sappy little piece about him and Theron set shortly before Umbara. So. I made the sap angsty. anyway

Theron awoke to the feeling of a montral bumping up against his nose. Kit had curled up again, seeking out Theron like a tooka hiding in the crook of their owner’s knee. Theron smiled and wriggled back slightly to get a good look at him.

There was a little puddle of drool on the sheet beneath Kit’s face. Probably not what any of the Force-users who gave Kit a wide berth in the Enclave would expect, but he’d always been contradictory. Terrifying one second and sweet the next.

Not that Theron hadn’t been surprised when they first met, too. The dossier on the man who killed the Emperor had been thorough, listing his most heroic moments and his cruellest in even, clinical terms. Made an honorary general but never a Jedi Master, due to Satele’s concerns about Kit’s fall, he had seemed to accept the decision. The folks who compiled the dossier hadn’t been so sure, which was how Theron knew now that none of them had ever spoken to Kit. He hated the title of General, and he hated not being a Master – but he didn’t blame Theron’s mother. He blamed himself.

Anyway, the stories had led Theron to expect a skilled fighter with a predilection for violence that outstripped the Jedi way. Kit was all those things, but in conversation he was shy and retiring, always asking for clarification or looking to someone else for instructions. Theron had been a bit too distracted back then to put the pieces together about him, but he’d figured it out when they met up after Tython: Kit turned all his anger inward. Every perceived failure had compounded to make those yellow sparks in his eyes. So long as a person didn’t do something wrong, he wouldn’t blame them.

The thought wasn’t as comforting as it had been a year ago. Theron had done something very, very wrong. Just because it was the right thing to do didn’t change that.

Still, Kit didn’t know yet. Theron was selfish enough to take advantage as long as he could.

“What are you looking at?”

During Theron’s reverie, Kit had woken up. He uncurled his spine, wincing slightly as he stretched. He always held awkward positions too long in his sleep. Now that he had a clear shot, Theron gave in to the urge to put his hand against Kit’s warm, strong chest. Kit looked bemused, but he wriggled a little closer.

“Memorising you,” Theron said.

“Are you planning to go somewhere?”

Yes. Theron swallowed.

“I do this a lot,” he said, not lying. “You don’t usually wake up.”

“Oh,” Kit said. He looked genuinely surprised – as if all the things they’d said and done still didn’t add up to one hopelessly in love Theron Shan. Theron wanted to prove to him, once and for all, that he was worth it. He also knew that all Kit would see for a long, long time was someone who’d thrown him away.

“I…” He needed to say it. No hesitation, no distraction, just vulnerable honesty for once in his life. “Kit, I’m not great with the grand declarations, but you know I love you, right?”

He looked even more startled.

“Wow,” he said. “You’re – I know. You told me that last night, too.”

“That was a little different energy,” Theron said. Kit laughed.

“I love you, too,” he said. “Even if you are weirdly sentimental this morning.”

“Hey, you bring it out of me,” Theron said, only too happy to leave the sincerity out of his tone and return to the usual teasing. For a little while longer, at least, Kit would know the truth.

Anyways saying Sandstorm is system-facts is actually so fucking wild. What the fuck. You can't use a PHRASE to tie two blogs together???? Typing styles, slang, emoji/emoticon usage I'd get, but you fucking stalked these blogs to get ONE PHRASE.

I mean, it's a specific phrase that only they have ever used. Nobody else. That's pretty suspicious.

Just reiterating though that the phrase connection wasn't made by me, but by another user. I noticed similarities between Sandstorm and system-facts after Sandstorm's ask to me accusing me of being transphobic and anti-endo for supporting transplurals. But none of the connections with the Auklet blog were made by me. I hadn't paid any attention to that blog at all. It wasn't even on my radar before this.

But I also don't think it's really stalking. I mean, the posts with the "nothing is impossible with systems" line were made less than a month from each other in public tags. It's not that weird for someone to remember a phrase someone used and then see a troll blog use it, and think "huh, I think I heard that before, maybe I should look into that."

Also, it wasn't just the one phrase, that's just the one I personally find most compelling from their list.

As a result, Kore and Lucia take their prize, they leave the gallery before Narcisse's installation to continue their work on the daylight jewelry - a new artifact now in play. The information listed below can be permanently found on the ARTIFACTS page, as well as a list of current users.

Daylight jewelry is a piece of jewelry with an embedded red gemstone that allows vampires to walk in the sun while wearing it. 

It is created by a witch extracting or receiving donated blood from the vampire who would like to acquire said jewelry, and then a ritual must be performed to harden the blood into a gemstone. The ritual is an hours long process that saps magical strength from witches and must be done when the sun is at its apex, or during any special celestial event (ie, a comet, an eclipse, etc.) . Only two can be made by one witch a day. These gems will only work for the vampire that gave the blood. 

These are only available to vampire characters that have been in the game for two weeks or longer. To receive one, you must write and finish a thread between the vampire character who receives it and the witch who creates it.

Arrow and King will be writing a thread with Kore and Lucia to provide an example on how it could be done!

In my magic system everyone has magical abilities that can be trained, but due to limited access, most never do.

Magic is known as the Weave, and it is both an art and a craft. Magic users are called Spell-weavers by most and are viewed with fascinated suspicion by outsiders. Because of this, they mostly stick to themselves.

Trained magic users join the Collective, a non-hiererchical organization of spell-weavers whose minds are connected in a meta-consciousness (rather like a shared "mind palace") known as the Mindlink. They have intimate knowledge of each other, an empathetic connection to each other's emotions, and have access to the vast, multi-generational collective knowledge of spell-weavers. It allows them to be masters at whatever they put themselves to, and can see every problem from multiple angles, allowing them to solve problems rapidly.

The Mindlink also allows them to communicate with one another instantly, making them instrumental for the functioning of governments, heads of state, merchants, and more. They are typically employed on airships in case of emergencies, and every governmental agency has one so they can cross-communicate. The River King of the Fae employs four on duty at a times, and the same goes for the Soljoran Premier. The High Bank of Rel uses them to scry economic forecasts and ward coins to prevent countetfeiting. For this reason they are politically neutral, but work with and toward their own unknown agendas.

For most of Corsovan history, spell-weavers were referred to as Magi and then Mages. They were scattered with no standardized training. When a mage found a suitable acolyte, they worked alone, one mage and one acolyte. It was Methuseld, a powerful mage who helped Tol Aranon defeat the Fellwraith, who built the first training house on Mount Karath, called the Paideia. After Methuseld's death the Paideia became standardized. When Tol Aranon gave the land grant of half the continent to the Fae to rebuild Instruri during the Illian Accords, it included Mount Karath and the site of the Paideia, so the training house remained and became the Aetherium. They opened another in the Soljoran capitol of Aldervale.

The Collective has always welcomed members of both Fae and human, resisting efforts to pit the two species against each other in times of crisis or xenophobic frenzy, acting always as a ballast for peace.

During the magical rennaisance, mages learned to harness magical energies and assign them to inanimate objects, developing Majtech. Majtech is of immense practical use, as it doesn't require extensive training in weaving spells or the use of a staff, and can be used by anyone.

The sap of the Amaranths were harnessed and many processes of distillation discovered, and these experiments revealed that different processes of distillation in combination with various alchemical spells yielded very different effects. Each process results in a different color of liquid, each of which grants different properties to the one ingesting it. These liquids are called Potents.

The list of Potents are as follows:

Blue: explosive or high energy Potent, used most often in bullets, where a few drops are put into the ignition cap. Majlocks as a result discharge blue flame instead of red. If ingested directly, it gives the user explosive or concussive force, allowing them to perform feats of strength like scaling buildings or sprinting impossible distances at breakneck speeds until it flares out and you must ingest more.

Gold: enhances vision and perception, including night vision. It can dispell darkness or shadows, and can be employed by the sufficiently skilled to generate light based magic such as heat or protective barriers.

Grey: enhances shadow based magic, allowing you to cloak yourself in shadows or blend into dark corners, and grants stealth abilities and can create illusions and disguises. For this reason Grey potents is highly regulated and is only legally possessed by a member of the Collective, but when has that ever stopped a black market?

Copper: electric magic, harnesses storms and lightning, air based magic, including flying (well, falling with style) and harnessing weather events.

Opal: fosters calm, peace, tranquility, harmony, and balance. Often used for conflict resolution or deescalation, diplomancy, and promoted unity, cooperation and feelings of solidarity. It also enhances the intimacy of love making.

Silver: facilitates dreamwalking, used most often for rites and rituals due to its profound visions from the dreamscape.

Red: enhances fire based magic, including the production of fire and resistance to fire.

Green: earth or natural magic, good for healing and rejuvenation, accelerates plant growth, and boosts endurance and vitality.

Orange: enhances cognition, allowing for intense creativity and flares of genius, problem-solving, better absorbsion of ideas, data, and argument.

The basic principle with each is that the more you ingest, the more powerful you are, but the more you ingest the harder it is on your body. For this reason most people only use a drop or two at a time. The complexity of the spell or the greater the power needed to accomplish something, the faster it flares out and must be replenished. This is why magic is best a collaborative project, since spreading the weave between a large group of Weavers reduces the total impact on each. In the Aetherium the Collective distributes all weaving between the whole since they are all Linked.
