Happy scary season lovelies <3
Hallowe'en art 2023: Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4
Like the other parts of this year's Hallowe'en run, this lil guy is available in my Etsy shop as both a sticker and a greeting card!
[ID for three images, copied from Alt Text:
One - Marker art of a bedsheet-style ghost fox sitting amongst pumpkins, one of which is a jack-o-lantern. The fox's ears are sticking out of a hole in the bedsheet, and its tail and paws are visible as well. Text in cursive reads "happy scary season." The background is plain white, and the artist's signature reads @ watercolourcritters.
Two - A photo of a sticker made from the same art of a bedsheet ghost sitting amongst pumpkins, with no text. It is held in my hand for scale.
Three - A greeting card of the art, including the text reading "happy scary season." It stands, horizontally oriented, among plants and a candle. End ID.]

I’d heard of potatoes having eyes, but pumpkins?!?
I got these two styrofoam pumpkin mimics at the craft store and I’ve painted one of them so far. I also added some green vines.
This was such a fun little project. And I’m loving how well they go with my Halloween season decor!
Now to decide how I want to paint the other one... 🤔

Ghost Tour
From house to house, stone wall to garden,
gnarled tree to shadowed porch, we stroll
in a huddled ensemble by the lantern light
of a black-cloaked guide who speaks to us
of the dead, reciting his litany of departed
souls who will not or cannot cross over to
the higher plane, seeking vengeance, gold,
peace, or love lost forever, all ghosts long
gone, all fettered to their places, bedrooms
and hearths, woodsheds and gardens, those
who were wrenched from life by violence
or grief, neglect and illness, some stabbed
by jealous lovers, others hanged in cellars
by their own hands, an unwanted baby lost
during a storm, a painter whose works were
burned by his wife, a major who still walks
the wooden floors of an old inn, and all of
these stories floating upon the weird mists
of time, a dark world parallel to ours as we
explore the dark streets, visitors to another
realm that lurks barely beneath the surface.
