handstripped a sweet standard schnauzer named ruby today :)
about 2.5hrs stripping, 30mins dematting, & 1hr prep (bath + dry + nails). her throat, back of thighs, & ears are clippered; she's not showing or upkept at home so a strip n' clip is easiest for her. i love her! she was very patient, especially for her first time ever being fully stripped!

When it's your first time doing a schnauzer face completely by yourself and you think you ticked up big time on the eyebrows, but then your boss informs you that if this were a show dog his eyebrows would get a perfect score 🙈😅

My cat had a UTI a couple weeks ago and we saw her regular vet today for her monthly medication. She is 19, blind, arthritic and has medium length hair. She isn't sleek, but also not a floof. We talked about how hygiene may be becoming an issue and the vet suggested (in addition to baby wipes) we shave a circular patch of hair off of her pubic area. I just don't think that's something I am able to do.

i hate ai-generated articles SO MUCH. Just give me an article written by an actual person, where the content matches the title and it doesn't meander off into other, related but not the same, topics every paragraph or so, and actually specifically answers the question being asked. Directly and specifically.

Van der Linde gang and what dog breed I’d recommend them.
Dutch: Caviler King Charles Spaniel. He doesn’t seem like the kind of person who wants a hiking dog or something super high maintenance. Sure grooming might be a factor but personality wise, it’s the dog that’ll sit there, look pretty, and not really worry about anything.
Hosea: English Setter. He would do great with a hunting dog and based off the way he hunts, he’d do better with a setter. He’d also like the sweet demeanor of the breeds standard.
Arthur: Labrador. I can imagine Arthur and his dog playing together for hours. Everything about Arthur reminds me of a lab.
John: Australian Cattle Dog. Unlike the others, John has an interesting lifestyle for a dog. I believe grooming may be more of a chore to him, but he wouldn’t mind running around with a dog for a while. I also think he’d like the guard dog aspect of a Heeler.
Javier: Scottish terrier. I feel like he’d like a little dog with an attitude problem. He’d like the independent and confident personality and the grooming challenge of the dog.
Charles: Newfoundland. He spends a lot of time alone and is more reserved than most,so I think he needs a more mellow dog. Its large size would also help protect him while alone. I also can just see Charles with a big fluffy dog.
Bill: Schnauzer. I could see him with any size, but I think Bill would thrive with one of those stubborn ass dogs. They are so loyal and so protective, but so stubborn (I’ve had 4 schnauzers in my lifetime, I love them but you can’t tell them no). He also thinks the beard makes them look more manly.
Lenny: Standard Poodle. I think Lenny would love a poodle for its intelligence. He’d have it trained to follow his every command, but also that dog would be so spoiled. Lenny would just carry it around like a little dog because he would kill a man for his puppy.
Sean: Australian shepherd. He needs a dog as wild as him. The mischief they would get into would make a nun cry. However, aussies are super smart and Sean and Lenny would compete in which dog was smarter.
Trelawny: Borzoi. He needs a dramatic ass dog. They’re beautiful and so fast, but not known to be the most intelligent of dogs. All the love to my noodle dogs though. :)
Pearson: Lhasa Apso. He needs a crusty little dog to sleep while he makes food, and then sit on his lap while he sits by the fire. Just a throw rug of a dog.
Micah: AKITA! Mean sons of bitches. They are aggressive, but loyal. Micah would like the fact it would only like him.
Reverend Swanson: Chihuahua. He needs a nervy little purse dog.
I’ll make a separate part for the girlies. :)

COD Men Headcanons
- Pets they would own -
Tumblr media
Some of these have detailed explanations, some do not. If anyone is actually interested in further reasoning, just lmk, but this was just an idea worm I’ve had for a while 💋
- Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley-
German shepherd, obviously. It’s canon and it suits him. I could also see him owning a Doberman.
- John ‘Price’ Price -
Chocolate lab, English. I imagine he names it Scout, regardless of whether it’s a male or female.
-Johnny ‘Soap’ Mactavish-
Huge orange exotic shorthair- not by choice, the distribution system got him.
- Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick -
Weimaraner and a Boston Terrier. Big, smart male. Little devilish female.
- König -
Giant Schnauzer and a tuxedo cat.
- Alejandro Vargas -
Probably a German shepherd like Simon. An older male, and likely a retired police/military dog.
- Rodolfo ‘Rudy’ Parra -
A rescue bully mix. She’s like 130 lbs of muscle and she is a big spoiled baby. She’s like a bull in a china shop and knows zero commands, she’s just house-trained. Everyone loves her.
- Keegan P. Russ -
Husky. Big grumpy black and white male who talks back at him. He loves the company and would never admit it but he takes a lot of pride in having such a handsome dog. Very well-groomed.

i saw a post recently that made me want to state my opinion on something.
i do not hate doodles. in fact, i would say i'm pro doodle. as long as the doodle is bred or acquired ethically, i have 0 problem with them existing.
obviously doodles can have problems much like many other breeds. many. most of them. but that doesn't mean they shouldn't exist! and uninformed/uneducated buyers will unfortunately always be a thing. it doesn't mean that whatever they're buying shouldn't exist.
i don't anymore, but i worked in the animal industry (pet retail, shelter, and veterinary) for about 3 years. i NEVER saw a doodle that was as awful as so many people paint them to be. i'm not saying they don't exist! just anecdotally, i interacted with plenty of doodles that were totally fine. not my cup of tea as far as dogs go, but non problematic. in fact, most of the nervy messes i can remember were purebreds (looking at you schnauzers). that does not mean i think that schnauzers should not exist or that we should witch hunt the people who breed or own them.
in my experience working in rescue, i very rarely saw any dogs that could've been a poodle mix (think curls or furnishings) - and when i did, they wouldn't last more than a day there before getting adopted. people like doodley dogs! i understand this may differ regionally, but where i'm located, we don't have an overpopulation problem of doodles. we DO have a very clear overpopulation of pitbulls and bully breed mixes.
but back to the point. people hate doodles for all sorts of reasons - they're designer dogs, they're a fad, they're bred for money, their coats are bad, etc etc. okay fine, you're entitled to that - but you CAN'T hate doodles for those reasons unless you also hate all the other breeds or mixes (sport mixes!!!) that fall under the above criteria as well. doodles aren't special. they're not different. they're just another type of dog and people like them. popularity isn't a sin. lots of breeds have had their time in the spotlight and yet their owners aren't verbally flogged for having them.
i'm pro rescue and adoption. i'm pro ethical breeding. i have a rescue mutt from a shelter and i have a purebred dog from a breeder. and i believe that doodles fill a niche in a lot of homes that other breeds don't. hence their popularity. if you hate doodles, i think you should really try to think deeply about WHY. like, i'll most likely never own a doodle because they're not what i want in a dog - and if you groomed them and thought they were always annoying and you dislike them - fine! but when you think that every single doodle is the scourge of the earth and people should be ashamed for owning them, you need to sit down and think about that, because chances are you've fallen prey to some sort of anti-doodle propaganda without truly examining the facts.
