Since I was asked about it and I really love yapping about symbolism, here’s the breakdown of what flowers are in each bouquet and what they mean

(Disclaimer I’m not an expert on flowers and am going off of google and a Victorian flower language book, alright, disclaimer over, let’s go!)

Rue- regret (Grian immediately regretted killing Scar at the final duel)

Sunflower- false riches (it’s scars chosen flower and it fits so well for the trader that never had any good trades)

Foxglove- riddles, secrets (its called Secret Life, I thought it would be perfect)

Datura- deceitful charms (scar was incredibly shrewd, clever and charming, this is an excellent flower for him)

Crocus- cheerfulness

Dandelion- magic, transformation

Poppy and lilac- hey, I haven’t left the desert either

Fern- magic, secrecy

Cleo:

I didn’t have much for them because it was only one episode but I’ve got a few

Larkspur- levity (it was a fun session and they seemed to have fun with it

Sweet pea- ‘thank you for a lovely time’ (they had a lovely fun time!)

Chamomile- energy in adversity (they were having a tough time with the vr aspect and still kept up energy)

He/She/They.

Emotionally stable, to an unexpected level. Maybe It's because of their mostly laid back and rational personality.

The only exception I can think of was after Double Life...that was a mess for everyone involved.

They are friendly, close to Cleo and Impulse but generally sociable with most, really protective to the point of self-sacrifice for some of the others too.

They seem to have mixed feelings about Gem though, I'm unsure why, both Scott and Pearl are usually close to her. Gem on the other hand seems to enjoy their company quite a bit.

Really powerful purifying and healing magic, they are the main fusion formed whenever great healing power is needed. Was once called to purify a strange red corruption called the "Egg" from another server upon request of one of the players living there.

In god form she often is called the lady of winter blooms or the ruler of the evergreen fields. Interesting titles for sure. Never understood the need for so much fancyness.

They used to appear pretty regularly, in MCC and in the life series. Then Double Life happened and they fused once back then and it went horribly and then they didn't fuse again until after Secret Life. They are back to fusing pretty regularly but it's not the same, strangely they stay fused for longer now.

So last weekend I watched the 1984 A Christmas Carol movie, starring George C. Scott.

And in that version, Scrooge is a Commodities Trader.

I was a little confused, because I thought Scrooge was a Landlord.

Turns out, Dickens never actually specifies how Scrooge makes his money. Doesn't matter to him how he made it, just that he's rich and miserly.

I do like that. Both in that Dickens didn't single out any type of rich asshole, just rich assholes in general, but also in that adaptations can inject social commentary by changing Scrooge's profession.

The 1984 version likely chose to make him a Commodities Trader due to it being the closest thing to Stock Traders, who were at the head of the cultural zeitgeist of the 1980s.

The reason I thought he was a Landlord is because that's what The Muppets Christmas Carol went with, and that is a criticism that is evergreen, if you'll pardon the pun.

However, apparently a lot of adaptations go with with making him a moneylender, which is... not great.

Like, there is a way to read A Christmas Carol as being antisemetic. While Scrooge is Christian, he is a rich miser (which is used as an antisemetic stereotype against Jewish people) who is literally terrorised into being more Christian and to stop forsaking a Christian holiday.

Making him a moneylender, a profession which had many Jewish practitioners due to Christian rules against charging interest on loans thus making it an unprofitable business for devout Christians, kinda leans into that reading and strengthens it, whether intentionally or unintentionally on the part of the various adaptations.

Even though what little we know of Scrooge's business would argue against him being a moneylender, as we know he owns a Warehouse. You could see that for a Commodities trader (storing the aforementioned commodities) or even a landlord (storage of construction materials to build on land he owns), there is no reason for a moneylender to have a warehouse. Most likely he was supposed to be some form of merchant.

But still. You have all the leeway in the world to single out a single profession for your Christmas Carol adaptations, just... try to think through the implications before you do.

I've undergone a slight style change as of late, however,

I still wanted to include both in the same post.

A warpsider has 2 forms, a true form and a second form. The second form is the man you see standing on two legs, with the fuzzy foot coverings. His true form, is the behemoth on all fours.

Ight, the wall from the All In Special 2025 has been on my mind for a bit so... lets take a look:

Putting the whole thing here so we know the entirety of what we are looking at but now I am gonna crop out a picture for each portion to talk about it. Because this is so long the breakdown is under the cut.

The Green Lantern:

First image we get is the Green Lantern that landed in the town of Evergreen in Absolute Green Lantern

To the right of the Green Lantern, we get a picture from 1944:

This may be a stretch but I suspect this is Alan Scott.

Alright, on to the next image, which I am pretty certain is of the Joker:

Take into account the above image and now the first look we got of the Joker in the absolute universe in Absolute Batman #1:

I mean... essentially the same image, yeah? Shadow falls the same way, hair cut/hair line is the same. I think it is safe to say we have got another look at the Joker on our hands.

Next we have the pink sticky note:

Now, as far as I know, this is the first reference to something we have yet to see in the absolute universe. Obviously, the Fourth World is where Darkseid hales from. So could this be a temple to him?

The next image references the Omega Men:

The Omega Men have been appearing in Absolute Superman and in this world are some sort of freedom fighter group. Now, the question I have concerning this note is what exactly the question is asking. Perhaps it is trying to point out a need for us to be suspicious of the Omega Men too... very interested to see where this one goes.

Keeping with Absolute Superman, the next point gives us two references to the goings on in that book:

In answer to the question, it seems that Ra' Al Ghul does. But it does make me wonder if there is someone beyond him. Then we have a picture of a peacemaker. I wonder if it is one of the peacemakers or Peacemaker following Brainiac's experimentation on him.

Next sticky note:

This sticky not resides on the Omega symbol. Omega is the last letter of the Greek alphabet and often used in reference to the end. In Christianity, for instance, God is referred to as the "Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end." Something to note is that the absolute universe is designated "Earth-Alpha". Omega, beyond the Omega Men, is near exclusively used to reference Darkseid. His symbol is the Omega. The beams from his eyes are called Omega beams. Darkseid created this universe. He is the "beginning" of this universe and is symbolically speaking, if not literally speaking, the end.

Gonna put the next two sticky notes together because they are both Absolute Green Lantern references:

First we have the Black Stars. This is something that has been referenced by Hal Jordan in Absolute Green Lantern and has some connection to the Black Hand. In main continuity the Black Stars are and alternate universe version of the Dark Stars, an organization similar to the Green Lanterns. This alternate universe version was tyrannical law enforcement agency and generally not great guys. I have a sneaking suspicion that they will function similarly in the absolute universe.

Then the part about Stewart... Clearly, it is referring to John Stewart. We do not know what happened to him as of yet, just that Jo and Hal have gotten out of Evergreen, seemingly without him. Wondering what he knew the weakness to. Perhaps Abin Sur?

Then we see a picture of the Helmet of Fate:

My guess? Nothing really has seemed to connect to Absolute Wonder Woman yet so I am thinking perhaps Dr. Fate will be in here book. No who will be Dr. Fate. No clue but throwing it out there that it being Zatanna would be interesting!

The next sticky note is rather cryptic:

I mean, I have to assume it means the main earth... but perhaps it doesn't. Is another world coming the way of Prime-Earth and Earth-Alpha?

The next two sticky notes I am touching on are both Absolute Martian Manhunter references:

Both these things were introduced in the most recent issue of Absolute Martian Manhunter. The White Martian seems to cause people to do terrible things by latching onto the worst parts of them, while the "psychospheric collapse" is the force that Martian Manhunter will be fighting, though we do not know much about it.

Then we have this guy:

I think he is the same person that appears on the previous page:

And I, frankly, have no clue who he is. Can't even give you a guess. probably is going to appear in Absolute Green Lantern considering what he is shown looking at on the TV but... yeah idk!

Then we have Despero or... Despair-o:

Clearly going to be this world's version of Despero but perhaps this version of him enhances people's feelings of despair?

Then there is this symbol with a star in the middle:

My guess is some relation to Booster. Perhaps a Darkseidified version of his symbol.

And finally... I saved this for last cause I have zero clue what it is:

Could be related to Absolute Superman, Absolute Green Lantern, or Absolute Martian Manhunter. Or something else! Idk!

I do think it is strange that nothing seem connected to Absolute Wonder Woman in all of this but perhaps a few of the particularly cryptic ones have to do with her book.

his hands were sweating all day.

which was weird, considering it was february.

but it wasn't weird, given what he had planned. he didn't know if he wanted to scream or throw up. the idea of you becoming his wife surely made him giddy, but it was soured with the slight chance that you might say no. he was supposed to propose before the season started up again, but he was plagued with anxious thoughts.

it's not the right time.

i'm not ready yet.

or the worst one: i don't think i'm that serious about you.

which, in hindsight, wouldn't make sense considering you were already living together and have been for quite some time. you wore his jersey to games, you had conversations about starting a family, you texted his mom and sister more than he did. there was no reason for you to say no.

right?

right?

after he chickened out back in september, mat's new plan was to wait until the bye week to propose. he was going to take you on a vacation to conil de la frontera, spain. he had everything booked and ready.

but then he was drafted for the 2024 all star games.

he could see it in your eyes, you were ecstatic for him to be recognized, but when you took a week and a half off of work, you were planning on packing your bathing suit, not taking a short flight to toronto.

you bore the slight disappointment well, smiling and kissing him and hugging him tightly when he got the news. he beamed when he saw you post about it on your instagram.

he couldn't wait any longer to ask you. your reaction to a change in your vacation plans from something warm to canada in the winter solidified what he was anxious about for months.

you loved him, there as no doubt about it.

you were the most selfless human being he knew.

his teammates had been crucial in the planning process, well, at least their wives were. bo, marty, anders, brock, and clutterbuck had been chirping him since the start of the season when they noticed that your left hand was still devoid of a ring.

"what're you waiting for, barzy?" bo asked after a practice one day. "you found a good one, she'd probably wait forever for you, but why're you making her wait?"

mat shrugged at the time, too embarrassed to admit that despite being one of the best players in the league and having millions to his name, he was terrified that it still wouldn't be enough for you. not that you'd ever demanded more from him, you'd taken him as he was and cheered for him even when he was having the shittiest time of his life.

he could give you the moon and still wouldn't feel like it was enough.

so when mat finally told his teammates about his plan in toronto, they immediately communicated to the wives who were closest to you. sydney, grace, and holly took you out to get your nails done while marty, anders, bo, and mat started researching the most romantic places in toronto on anders' laptop just in case you spontaneously went through mat's search history.

the day was planned, the photographer and necessary tickets were booked, he'd propose at the evergreen brick works after texting auston matthews about cool places to visit while he was in town, (he had to clarify that he didn't care about cool bars, and was looking to bring you along).

you'd been talking nonstop on the plane ride to toronto that you didn't even notice mat was quietly stewing. everything had to be perfect.

it was the very least that you deserved.

the first day in toronto, both of you explored the city by going to coffee shops and restaurants recommended by players and their significant others. when you made it back to your hotel room, your feet were aching.

you fell face first into the bed, whining into the comforter. "my feet hurt," you groaned.

mat laughed from his position leaning against the wall. "i told you to wear better shoes," he said.

"i didn't anticipate you dragging me all over toronto today."

"well, that's what we'll be doing tomorrow too, so prepare yourself."

"mat," you whined, finally flipping over so he could see your pretty face again. you had a cute pout on your lips that he wanted to kiss away. "we're on vacation."

"and you've never been in this city before, you should get to see it." he walked over to where you were and grabbed your hands. "c'mon, let's go take a bath and then we can order room service and spend the rest of the night in bed."

you were quick to agree.

the following day was pretty mundane. but wednesday was the cause of mat's stress.

his phone lit up with texts from his teammates, his parents, liana, tito, and ethan, all wishing him a good luck. the two of you woke up early enough to go to a local cafe and grab breakfast before taking the bus to evergreen brick work.

"you okay?" you asked, placing your hand on his knee to keep it from bouncing anymore.

he thanked whatever possessed him to keep the ring box in his coat pocket on the side that wasn't pressed up against you.

"yeah," he smiled. "just ready to get there."

when the two of you hopped off the bus, you slid your hand into his almost immediately. out of habit, mat tucked you into his side, happy to just have you close. it was a little cold outside, but it was like he couldn't feel it because of your proximity.

"mat!" you tugged on his arm and pointed at one of the signs. "they have ice skating here!" you grinned widely up at him and he couldn't help but smile right back. "we should go!"

"we will," he said. "i wanna do this trail first."

you looked at him funny. "you wanna go on a walk?"

he shrugged, tearing his eyes away from you to focus on the signs in front of him. "auston suggested this place."

"you're asking for a lot of suggestions from auston. it's unlike you..."

"there's no need to be suspcious, babe. i know that you wanted to be in a tropical place for vacation, that was the plan and everything, but since we're here, thought we'd make the most of it."

you scrutinized his face for a moment longer before nodding and pulling yourself closer to him.

after you secured another hot coffee to combat the cold, mat started leading you on the trail. while you were ordering, he was coordinating with the photographer to make sure she was in position.

the trail itself wasn't that long, thankfully because mat couldn't get a word out and if it was any longer, he feared you would've caught on that he was incapable of speaking.

you were still talking about work drama when you got to the lookout point. your voice was taken away by the sight of toronto in the background.

you hadn't always been the most observant person ever, you didn't even know he liked you until he told you verbatim when he couldn't take it anymore.

"oh my god, mat," you gasped. you pointed at the skyline in front of you with the hand that wasn't holding your coffee. "look how pretty it is!"

he swallowed and knelt down on one knee while your back was turned. mat took the ring box out of his jacket pocket, doing his best not to drop it despite how much his hands were shaking.

"have you ever seen anything that--" you whipped back around to look for him. he watched as confusion filled your face when you didn't see him standing behind you, but kneeling in front of you.

"oh my god," you whispered, dropping your coffee on the ground so you could cover your mouth with both hands. "mat what--"

"i love you," he said. "i love the way you squeal at every cute baby that comes across your for you page or the way you cry at the drop of a hat. i love how you celebrate everyone around you. you are the brightest thing in my life and if i quit my job tomorrow, i know my life would still be fucking amazing because i'd have you.

"i know that my schedule is hectic, and you could probably find a man better than me, who was more consistent, who wasn't going to play games or have practices on your birthday, who could take you out of the country for a vacation to somewhere warm instead of dragging you with me to an all star game. but i promise you, i will do whatever it takes to give you the best life possible if you'd let me. i wanna grow old and crinkly with you, i want our kids to have the same last name as both of us. i want to be able to point you out in crowds and tell strangers that i somehow managed to convince you to marry me.

"i have never been more terrified in my life than i am right now," he admitted. "but i have never been more certain of anything i want more in my life than you. so will you have me? will you marry me?"

in the middle of his speech, mat didn't realize when he'd started crying, didn't even notice that you were all but sobbing. he just recognized the scent of your perfume when you lunged towards him and kissed him hard on the mouth, your tears mixing with his.

"yes," you mumbled into his mouth. "oh my god, yes."

mat let out a watery laugh and managed to slip the ring on your finger even though his hands were shaking. you pulled him up to stand and immediately wrapped your arms around his neck to pull him close.

you were sniffling as he pulled you in for another kiss.

"i love you,' he whispered against your lips.

"love you more," you smiled back.
