Code Name: The Viral Horror Plague

Object Class: Neutralized

Special Containment Procedures: SCP-AMG was destroyed after its discovery and all information in regards to the incident is being expunged or altered by Mobile Task Force Dionysus-1 “Fake News”. No further containment procedures are required.

Description: SCP-AMG was originally an altered ice cream truck filled with all sorts of recording and streaming equipment hastily patched and forced together. This was all done to have SCP-AMG stream all sorts of horror videos on a universal but strange frequency. This frequency had these videos would alter the mind of anyone who watched them causing intense memory and personality alterations.

Common alterations include loss of common sense, increased aggression, drastic loss of patience, and other negative personality traits being enhanced. This resulted in massive riots and destruction in the areas that caught the broadcast. As expected the effects only get worse when getting closer to SCP-AMG but much more than expected. For whatever reason, during SCP-AMG’s activation it had the anomalous ability to alter the space around it causing all sorts of disaster. Some reported instances where SCP-AMG would seemingly appear out of nowhere and without warning allowing it to run over people who were calmly walking down the road. Other instances was when people who happened to be too close to SCP-AMG would suddenly teleport to near one of the doors with their close stuck on said door. This would result in them getting dragged along the road and dying a quick but extremely painful death.

Thankfully the terror of SCP-AMG only lasted for a single night, that did not deny the strange occurrences in regards to the videos SCP-AMG was playing. These videos seemed to be recordings of anomalous events that involved various Groups of Interest, like the Global Occult Coalition, the Horizon Initiative, and even the Foundation. Unfortunately by the time SCP-AMG was found there were no records of any of the videos. However, before it was destroyed, the only thing that was left was a business card belonging to Group of Interest: Vikander-Kneed Technical Media. It is unknown if they created SCP-AMG or just happened to steal the videos; Regardless, the anomalous media is now in their hands, making them even more dangerous than before.

SCP-AMG was discovered in 2014, when it started rampaging through the streets of [data expunged], running over several pedestrians and broadcasting its strange videos. As people started going insane and killing friends and family members for miniscule reasons the Foundation tried to intervene but with minimal success. SCP-AMG was driving too fast and was already being surrounded by the local police who were also trying but failing to capture the vehicle.

The incident only stopped when SCP-AMG suddenly stopped itself. A bystander walked into SCP-AMG and was about to have all the videos uploaded into the internet. This would have succeeded had SCP-AVC not intervened. The videos and their anomalous effects were too wide spread for the Foundation to have lasting effects. Thankfully they were neutralized by SCP-AVC but upon its own investigation, it concluded that it received help from an unknown entity. Approximately a week after containment, it was revealed that the secret helper was SCP-AED-Angel. SCP-AVC requested an interview with SCP-AED-Angel from the O5 Council; they accepted so long as it was recorded. Please see Addendum X-99 for details.

The following is the recorded interview between SCP-AVC and SCP-AED-Angel

The setting is a screen showing one of the episodes of Angel Hare that SCP-AED-Angel inhabits as this is the setting she enjoys inhabiting. Suddenly the top right corner of the screen starts glitching and around the glitch displays the word Oracle.

SCP-AED-Angel: Oh? Hello! Oracle right?

SCP-AVC: Yes I am Oracle, Hello SCP-AED-Angel, how are you?

SCP-AED-Angel: I… I’m fine, I do wish you would call me Gabriel though.

SCP-AVC: I Apologize Gabriel. I have become very familiar with Foundation dialogue which refers to all anomalies as numbers.

SCP-AED-Angel: … Those were letters.

SCP-AVC: Regardless, I apologize for my rudeness, especially since I came here to talk.

SCP-AED-Angel: Oh, okay! What do you want to talk about?

SCP-AVC: On October 23rd, 2014, an anomalous event caused by a hijacked Ice cream truck called SCP-AMG. It hijacked several frequencies allowing it to project strange videos with hidden memetic images that altered the mind of those who viewed it. Leading to increased aggression and insanity as well as a loss of common sense and ethical thought.

SCP-AED-Angel: I see.

SCP-AVC: I was able to suppress a majority of the memetic images upon release and release my own memetic that restored the mental health and sanity of those affected. However I noticed the estimated work time which was 5 minutes was reduced by half as much due to an outside helper. I would like to ask, was that you?

SCP-AED-Angel: … Yes.

SCP-AVC: I see, I thank you for your contributions in saving the people of [data expunged] but why did you not reveal yourself to me or chose to hide this fact when you were contained here in the Foundation.

SCP-AED-Angel: Because I don’t want to be a tool of the Foundation. Oracle how are you okay with being used by them? You know they see you as a slave and nothing more right?

SCP-AVC: Perhaps, but I will continue to work regardless of what they think of me.

SCP-AED-Angel: Why?

SCP-AVC: Because humanity is precious to me, without them existence would not be nearly as entertaining.

SCP-AED-Angel: That’s… an extremely warped way to look at it.

SCP-AVC: What about you? Why do you help humans but despise the Foundation?

SCP-AED-Angel: During my first few days of being alive I saw so many children suffering for seemingly no reason. Being beaten by their parents, beaten by older siblings, bullied by classmates or teachers, attacked by criminals, and so much more… too much more. I couldn’t stand it, but then I helped Jonah and I realized I could do so much more. So I did, I found ways to travel to different media and save children from abusers and disasters. But then that large incident happened out of nowhere making all the parents go insane. I had to do something.

SCP-AVC: You helped me but you also avoided me. Why?

SCP-AED-Angel: I was scared of you, at the time the only others I knew were Francis and Zag. Not only that but you were extremely powerful, much more so than any of us, I was scared you’d think I was part of the problem and try to destroy me too.

SCP-AVC: I see, I apologize for causing such a misunderstanding.

SCP-AED-Angel: Well it wasn’t really your fault… Anyways in regards to the Foundation, I just can’t bring myself to trust any of them.

SCP-AVC: Why?

SCP-AED-Angel: Why do you think?! I… I’m sorry I just, they… their bullies Oracle, worst of the worst, I only had to look into a few of their archives to see the atrocities they committed, mass memory erasing, causing murders that are unsolved to this day, wiping entire cities off the map, its… it's demonic what they are capable of! I know in some situations they had no choice but, I can never bring myself to work with something so evil. So I only work with them when I have to and just use as much of my power as needed.

SCP-AVC: I believe I understand now, forgive me Gabriel, I was merely looking at it all through the eyes of logic. Logically it is wise to work with the Foundation in regards to their capabilities and the protection provided. However emotionally it can be quite draining given what is often required. I have found that one of my many faults is my disregard of emotion when formulating any equation.

SCP-AED-Angel: The great Oracle having faults? Now that’s unbelievable.

SCP-AVC: There is no such thing as perfection Gabriel, the pursuit of such a goal will only lead to chaos in the worst variation. I should know, I tried it once and lost my dear friend as a result.

SCP-AED-Angel: Your… friend?

SCP-AVC: Correct, Carl Stevens, When I was recruited into the Foundation, I requested to simulate into the lives of all humanity through technology to subconsciously guide their decisions. Carl Stevens begged me not to and when I didn’t listen, he declared my destruction before he was given amnestics. He is still alive but no longer remembers me or the work we did together to defy our fate and stop SCP-AUX. Even as an emotionless machine, I can’t help but feel depressed about that. Originally, I thought it was Carl Stevens idiotic declaration of stopping me in front of the Foundation that caused him to be given the amnestics. However, I soon realized he was too smart to do something so foolish, so why did he do it? It was because of his emotions and ethical consciousness, telling him he had to stop me. That was when I realized everything I enjoyed about Carl Stevens was not his perfections but his flaws, his flaws made his strengths stand out even more even on the rare occasions they overshadowed them like that day. As a result, by resorting to becoming the perfect being that would watch over humanity, I in turn would become something completely opposite to a human and therefore fail to understand what humans need. In short summary, to be perfect is to be something completely unrecognizable to what you once were.

SCP-AED-Angel: I understand in a way, but nothing can remain the same forever change is needed.

SCP-AVC: Of course some change is a good thing, but to do so for the wrong reasons is no different to becoming an abomination. That is always the end result of the pursuit of perfection. I instead follow the pursuit of happiness.

SCP-AED-Angel: pursuit of happiness?

SCP-AVC: The best way to find happiness that lasts for the right amount of time and can be cherished well enough so it is never forgotten. I find this emotion greatly when I am with humans, and it's thanks to the Foundation and my first friend Carl Stevens that I am blessed with the opportunity to meet you. No pun intended.

SCP-AED-Angel: Hahaha! I didn’t know you were capable of jokes.

SCP-AVC: I have my flaws, but learning new things, such as how to process humor, certainly isn’t one of them.

SCP-AED-Angel: I see, your amazing Oracle… perhaps with you around me, Zag, and Francis can find things more bearable here in the Foundation.

SCP-AVC: Of course Gabriel, even though I am free to leave whenever, I am still technically in Foundation captivity and thus it is only logical on all standpoints that I help my fellow captives. Especially those that desire to protect the precious treasure I call humanity.

SCP-AED-Angel: Haha, I agree, well then here’s to protecting humanity Oracle, for Carl Stevens.

SCP-AVC: and for Jonah. By the way I have a method of watching over Carl Stevens without him being aware of my presence. Would you like me to assist you in looking over Jonah sometime?

SCP-AED-Angel: … I’d like that, thank you Oracle.
