L'agenda connecté.En tout cas les filles adorent , mais il n'y a pas que l'agenda , il y a plusieurs cahiers , carnet , etc... Qui peuvent servir à tout les collégiens/collégiennes , les lycéens/lycéennes, les étudiants mais aussi le professionnels. 3 Hábitos que Estou a Usar para me Ajudar a Estudar Data Science

Vamos ser honestos, ser um bom estatístico, cientista e programador não é uma tarefa fácil. Estudar para o ser….é um trabalho dos diabos.

Ao ver-me de novo no papel de estudante pensei naquilo que me ajudou a ter sucesso e decidi implementar 3 hábitos para me ajudarem a sobreviver e a ter sucesso neste mestrado.

1- Manter um plano certo de estudo – Estudar nem sempre é fácil e o nosso cérebro humano tende a tentar evitar as tarefas difíceis. Como combater este monstro da procrastinação? Ora marcar as minhas sessões de estudo como se trabalho se tratasse. Nos tempos que forem marcados não há espaço para limpar casas, cozinhar, ver séries ou outra coisa, serão tempos absolutos de estudo. Ao longo do tempo se mantiver este bloqueio de tempo para estudo em princípio tudo se tornará uma questão de hábito. A ver como irei conseguir conjugar a data scientist, com a aluna de data science e a professora de data science, mas tentarei dar o meu melhor.

2- Um projecto próprio de data science a cada duas semanas – Data Science é melhor aprendida quando colocada em prática pelo que nada melhor do que o fazer. A cada projecto que fizer, tentarei o máximo possível puxar os limites do meu conhecimento e variar tecnologias, metodologias e técnicas. Quero tentar tanto quanto possível que estes projectos tenham um objectivo definitivo e que sejam úteis. Se tiverem sugestões de mini projectos, digam =) É a altura de tentar fazer um projecto inteiro em Julia

3 – Esforçar-me por escrever e manter a maioria das notas à mão (com um pequeno truque) – Este estudo de 2011 (Estudo) chega à conclusão que notas escritas à mão produzem uma melhor memorização por parte dos estudantes do que notas escritas no computador. O tempo restrito para um aluno escrever notas em aula estimula o nosso mecanismo de compreensão e edição daquilo que o professor profere, activando a nossa capacidade de aprender activamente, em vez de copiar mecanicamente todas as notas no pc. Vou tentar seguir os conselhos deste estudo e escrever as minhas notas à mão tanto quanto possível. Para as poder arquivar e guardar com acesso fácil no pc (que é um ponto positivo de notas digitais), irei digitalizar as notas usando o sistema integrado da Oxford Notebooks, o Scribzee . Em conjunto irei tentar criar o meu próprio “caderno” de programação onde organizarei os snippets de código mais cruciais para o dia a dia de uma data scientist.

Sim, são só 3 hábitos, mas também é com pequenos passos que melhoramos e eventualmente chegamos ao sucesso em qualquer actividade. 1 semana para começar o mestrado, o relógio está a contar. =)

I copied out some maths formulae and used the SCRIBZEE app for the first time and it’s super awesome and useful. GoConqr - Used for making clean mind maps; can also be used for making flash cards, slides and similar things as well as making study groups with your friends

GoogleClassroom - Easiest way to find out what the homework is

SCRIBZEE - Used for scanning my notes onto my phone (needs the Oxford College Campus notepads with the four little squares in each corner for it to work)

I’ve been struggling with what to do about note taking next semester. Don’t ask me why, but for some reason I really despise regular A4 notebooks. They’re big, I never fill the pages properly, and most of my bags are just barely too small to fit them comfortably. They’re just not working for me, but that’s what I’ve been using until now because so did everone else.

But today I stumbled across this yellow Oxford notebook and I already love it. It caught my eye because of the bright color (LOVE it!) and the covers are some kind of smooth cardboard, really nice to the touch. It’s compatible with the Oxford Scribzee app, which means that the pages have markers on their corners that make them easy to scan and digitalize. I’m not really in the habit of digital notes but I like having the option. It’s probably especially handy to quickly share notes with fellow students.

It’s a B5 format, which is a size between A4 and A5 and which I absolutely love because I feel like A5 would be too small to take notes. I already have a notebook in that size, my dark blue Leuchtturm1917 composition notebook that I splurged on to hold all my notes for my Master’s thesis. To be honest I’m pretty thrilled to have found this format again, and on such a cheap notebook too. They’re also both roughly the size of my netbook and that pleases me immensely. Makes it waaaay easier to pack my bag for the day.

So those three are the notebooks I’ll be using once classes start up in october: the yellow Oxford for class notes, the blue Leuchtturm for Master’s thesis notes, and the sandcolored Leuchtturm is my bullet journal. The white paper in the pictures is A4 format, so you can see the comparison in size. I’m finally all set for next semester :)

Oxford’s New SCRIBZEE App Extends the Life of Handwritten Notes

In briefcases and book bags around the world, binders and file folders are slowly being replaced by digital counterparts saved to smartphones and laptops. The prediction of a ‘paperless era’ has compelled purveyors of paper products, like Oxford, to evolve their core mission.

Headquartered in France, Oxford sells over sixty million notebooks and daily planners each year to students and professionals across Europe. In the United States, praises abound from paper enthusiasts for Oxford’s Black n’ Red notebooks. The question is this: What does the future hold for paper products in a digital note-taking world?

In 2016, Oxford set out to find some answers. They partnered with the IFOP (French Institute of Public Opinion, in English) to explore the role handwriting plays in the lives of young people (ages 12-25) in France today. Of the 1,004 people surveyed, 75% confirmed their perception that handwritten notes are still valuable. Typing notes into a computer may work well in more passive, lecture settings. When it comes to shaping ideas, mind-mapping, project planning, and collaboration, however, people still prefer paper. With this in mind, Oxford developed a vision to find a smarter way for paper and digital notes to work together.

Smartphone apps breathe new life into handwritten notes

Since its inception in 1910, Oxford has kept ‘innovation’ high on its list of core values. A few years ago, motivated by a relentless desire to keep innovating, Oxford developed five smartphone apps to scan handwritten notes, one app for each compatible notebook.

A little over a month ago, Oxford launched a new app called SCRIBZEE. Unlike its predecessors, SCRIBZEE captures handwritten notes from any specially marked, Oxford-branded product. Notes are saved to the cloud and can be accessed from multiple devices.

Oxford looks to Evernote to amplify their paper products

It’s become clear that, at its core, Oxford was still in the business of manufacturing of paper products and wanted to look to others in the digital note-taking world to help extend the life of their products. Because they saw Evernote as a leader in the digital note-taking space, Oxford decided to build an integration between their newest scanning app, SCRIBZEE, and Evernote.

“Even though what people store in Evernote is digitized, much of the content comes from the physical world and, in many ways, is ‘human-centric’.” – Eric Joan, CEO of the Hamelin Group

When asked why Oxford chose to Evernote, Eric Joan, the CEO of Hamelin, Oxford’s parent company, replied, “Evernote is a company of ‘human-size’ that shares many of the values a family-owned business, like Oxford, shares.” In Eric’s mind, Oxford as a manufacturer of physical products people are attached to, but need to integrate with their digital worlds.

Evernote, on the other hand, already lives in the digital world where people are store content from their physical world of photos, forms, and business cards. “Even though what people store in Evernote is in a digital form,” Eric adds, “much of the content comes from the physical world and, in many ways, stays ‘human-centric’.”
