Podcast with Nick Fore #scriptconsultant
Nick Fore I’m so pleased that Nick Fore, London-based script consultant/script editor, agreed to be on the podcast. Nick’s read thousands of scripts, including mine (sorry Nick!), and offers insightful, positive script coverage for shorts, features, and TV pilots. He works with the British Film Institute, StudioBinder and has just finished working alongside BAFTA-winning writer/director Michael…

the og Dracula movie starring Bela Lugosi came out in 1931 only one year before the events of sinners and the Bram Stoker's Dracula by Francis Ford Coppola came out in 1992 the same year the movie ends so like you think Sammie watched either of those films and was like, this is some grade-a bullshit

funny thing about aus in which another one of the party joins the loops with siffrin is that, while the others are 10x more likely to mention the loops, i cant imagine any of them would go to siffrin first.

Viktor did nothing wrong actually I'm with him 100%. I mean trying to Become a Deity was the wrong answer to the equation so ig he did Some wrong but like I understand how he got there. Having a degenerative illness and a scientifically inclined mind DOES really scramble your brain like that. man.

You should have to pass a test about a book before you’re allowed to adapt it. I’m so sick of lazy, poorly written adaptations when you had a blueprint right there. Don’t @ me I know you have to make changes for the screen. Camelot (1967) is a masterpiece. Merlin of The Crystal Cave (1991) is delightful. The Winter King (2023) is an affront to book fans intelligence.

every time something in voyager tingles my senses my ass goes "let's consult the primary texts" and it's just me listening to garrett and robbie complain about lack of continuity and good writing for the 176th time

Propofol is not a pain medicine and definitely wouldn't be first line when a patient gets brought in after a back alley lobotomy. Morphine, Fentanyl, even Dilaudid would be a more likely choice. The only thing they got right was that the propofol could cause some amnesia.
Additionally, the victim can't talk (he seems to have locked in syndrome) so they use the guessing game of yes/no questions indicated by blinks to initially question him after the patient tries to write but can't. When Morgan finally comes up with the brilliant idea to use a communication board, they again use a hunt and peck process with Morgan pointing and the victim blinking... it takes forever. Put some kind of stick or something in his mouth and have him point to the letters he wants. I feel like that would've been faster... and more accurate. They say that he's paralyzed, but he was moving his arms earlier and in the opening scene he was even walking around. When did the paralysis suddenly start?
Last silly goof from this episode that I'll mention, they did an MRI on a person that couldn't answer any screening questions without doing serial X-rays first to look for any metal implants. Somehow the nano-camera implanted in the victim's eye wasn't ripped out during the scan, nor was it caught on the read.

i really adore characterisations of ivy that are like, misanthrope socially awkward scientist who can’t talk to humans, I think it’s a really fun contrast to the femme fatale persona she puts on for her villainy and makes a lot of sense with her backstory and her relationships. but also it cannot be forgotten that ivy is a mommy domme at heart and I think all of the above is true.
