“Segundo Sol”

The transparent hull made of microalgae-based biopolymer mimics the water, almost invisible. It looks and is part of the sea, like its waves and sea creatures. It allows an experience of unity between the sailor and the sea, a bond that develops into care.

The iconic round sail stays in the sky like another sun. Internal structure and fabric is made with plastic taken from the oceans: what once polluted it, now helps in its awareness and preservation. Functionally inspired by famous America’s Cup sailboats and circular winged aircrafts, the avant-garde wing-shaped sail turns and curves to increase or decrease thrust.

An iconic sailboat developed with the hope to bring more light and boldness to design a more conscious future.

Dorian saying that he feels unimportant and always has really put into perspective a lot of his behaviours. In early exu, he constantly differed to Orym, not just because he trusted him but because he felt as if his own opinion didn't matter enough to stand on their own. This continues into early campaign 3, too. Also, shout out to Robbie for making Dorian appear physically smaller and voice smaller when admitting how unimportant he has felt that was painful.

Under his breath, Brontë mutters something in what sounds like Primordial. A moment later, his expression smooths out, and he meets Orym’s eyes.

“There are two of us, in here.” He taps his temple again. “I was first. Dorian came later. I don’t really know how, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to fix us - trust me, we’ve both tried, to no avail - but. There it is.”

“There are two of you,” Orym repeats.

Despite the fact that he still has his sword raised, this is the first time Brontë has really looked afraid. Or nervous, at least. He’s harder to read than Dorian is, even though he has Dorian’s face.

“Yes.”

The impending gala forces Dorian out of front for the first time since leaving the Silken Squall. Brontë takes over, for better or worse. (If Dorian had any say in it, he'd say worse.)

Thinking about Dorian's new wardrobe - specifically the swap to gold signifying his new heir status and the "sluttiest" shirt etc - and remembering earlier in the campaign when the party went to the masquerade ball. Dorian had been planning to wear something he wanted to wear (the flowy beige chiffon outfit he wore in the pageant in ExU) but when the plan changed to subterfuge, he very pragmatically chose something conservative, militaristic, and introduced himself as "Brontë Secondsun of the Silken Squall". Notably, he discarded the outfit he'd originally wanted (3x12):

As I do, put those things away, I'm going to reach into my bag and pull out the outfit that I had, which was this chiffon outfit that I had previously gotten a long time ago, and look at it for a minute. Then I'll pull out the mâché mask that I had, and I'll crumble them both up and throw them in the bottom of the bureau, and leave them behind and go back down to the group.

He'd been looking forward to a chance of expressing himself, and when he realizes he can't (by choice, for the sake of the mission), he literally buries his feelings. Having to lean into his family identity is not a happy occasion for him; it represents everything he's trying to escape and a suppression of the self he's trying to become.

What's interesting about his most recent costume change is that in learning the reason for swapping silver to gold, it also tells us that Dorian has actually been wearing a reminder of his status in his family this whole time, on his everyday clothes. His winged boots are ancestral, but they have the excuse of being a useful magical item - Dorian could choose whatever metallic accent style he wanted for his clothes. And in using all silver, he never completely erased Brontë Secondsun Wyvernwind, he just embedded the title in his color scheme. Wearing gold now feels like grieving Cyrus as much as it does the grim acceptance of his new inheritance, but the two things are intertwined.

The "sluttiest" shirt meanwhile is a pretty straightforward continuation of the flamboyant style he yearned for in the masquerade. And with such loss behind him and the dire mission before them - if not now, when? If they get out of all this alive, he may return home and have to resume whatever pomp and circumstance are required there. Life's short; wear a sheer blouse.

All told, Dorian's new outfit and presentation are such a wild mix of messages. My brother is dead. I'm the heir now. My familial duty is part of me and I acknowledge this despite having very complicated feelings about it. But I'm also going 1000% on my dramatic personal style that doesn't match what I would wear at home as a prince. I have left behind beloved familiar instruments and chosen new ones. I am simultaneously reinventing myself in my desired image, cutting away things I think I must, and reaffirming my roots to which I am tied now more than ever. And I'm gonna do it all tits out.

people talking about dorian's corruption arc just starting now that cyrus is dead kinda. idk it rubs me the wrong way. and i know not everyone watched exu prime. so i don't expect everyone to know that dorian STARTED chaotic good and got his alignment changed to chaotic neutral by the fucking spider queen because he KNEW what the villains in exu prime would do and didn't care if it meant he could save his friends.

if there's gonna be a true corruption arc for dorian, not just vengeance arc (which is what i think), that corruption started waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when.

and his anger. ooooooooh boy dorian's anger. is so precious to me. but he has always ALWAYS been angry. robbie plays it so well and there have been several other Excellent posts on here about dorian and how his anger is always just... bubbling under the surface. how he hides it behind joviality and charisma.

he has the anger of a discarded second son. man his middle fucking name!!!! signifies exactly how he's viewed at "home." and i'm sure his parents and the people of the silken squall would argue that "secondsun" is an honor and a privilege. and i am equally sure that dorian hates it with everything in him. and hates it EVEN MORE now that cyrus is dead.

the 7th level geas was... so fucking sexy. just absolutely chefs kiss. but it's not! new! the interactions with cyrus at the ball! he blackslides into that icy anger more than once in the first episodes of c3 because it's always there!

and anger is very easily corrupted into something sickly and harmful. i get it. but this isn't the start of dorian going down a deeply juicy and interesting path. it's a 300 level kick into the tragedy of it all. but it's always been there. and the end result of this is NOT going to be him going full darkside/joining ludinus and/or the vanguard. because again. all this anger is boiling over into vengeance because people he LOVED were hurt/corrupted/killed themselves. you think he's gonna join up with the group that killed laudna and orym and fearne and chetney AND fcg while he was gone??????? and yes fearne, orym, chetney, and (after a lot more work) laudna all came back. but they were still DEAD because of the actions of people!!!! not the gods!!!!!

he's going rageful, wrathful, vengeance paladin. he's gonna salt and burn the earth to protect his people and ruin the corpses of people that oppose him. and hopefully. HOPEFULLY. at the end. he'll have enough people left around him to pull him back from the edge. remind him why he's fighting. and keep him safe.

I kept muttering "the gold. The GOLD" when Dorian was speaking to his father. I'm actually kind of really upset that he didn't say anything about it? Because I'm sure Zeru never thought he'd be in this predicament. He named his second son, Secondsun after all. He never thought the spare would be adorned in gold.

It would have been really cool (angsty) if he didn't know about Cyrus. (I know it's improbable because of why he was at the meeting in the first place but still) And the first time he sees either of his sons again would be like this. Where it seemed that Dorian had done away with a tradition from his home. He hadn't heard anything about his Secondsun in the better part of a year and now he dares to show up to the world stage in gold?! Like his home customs mean nothing?! What has this pilgrimage done to him?!

Then Dorian would have to tell his father. In the center of everything, where the whole of exandria is on the line, that yes his name might always be Secondsun, but now he was the only son. Now he was the heir whether either of them liked it or not.

And if none of that happened it still would have been nice when Zeru said something about how they wanted to make sure Dorian knew, he'd pause. He'd take in his Secondsun covered in gold (with a new nose piercing) and hesitate for a moment. Did the spare simply forget his place? Or did he know? Does he know? He didn't seem shocked. He cried into his shoulder.

IDK I JUST THINK. Robbie made a big deal about Dorian wearing gold and I think Matt should have too
