A fantastic thing about Wangxian is that they both have vast, bulletproof, towering edifices of self-esteem.

They know they're hot shit, they know almost nobody can compare; nothing changes their minds about this at any point. Even at their lowest they think highly of themselves; they're confident in their capabilities and judgments, and that they can outperform their peers.

They're arrogant, and they can back that shit up, and they have backed it up so often they're unshakeable on the subject of their own excellence.

This enormity of self-esteem is not at all incompatible with compromised self-worth, especially on Wei Wuxian's part, because the titanic self-destructive hubris that combination instills is the engine that drives his epic tragic backstory. But that's different! Thinking you're expendable and thinking you're inferior are separate judgements, that can certainly influence but don't force one another.

And one of the reasons this is cool is how the story holds them up against characters that are mostly pretty confident if not necessarily secure about their own value, but have very fragile self-esteem.

In varying ways, this is more or less what's up with Su She, Jiang Cheng, and Wen Chao.

Xue Yang also, but he's so weird about it it feels wrong to group him with those three.

Jin Guangyao is hard to place on this scale, because he shares wangxian's overweening sense of being better and more capable than other people as a rule, but he's not quite secure about it, and he shares Xue Yang and Su She's insane levels of conviction that he deserves to get what he feels is his due, at any cost to anybody.

But he definitely has a more complex relationship to that belief than either of them; su she's just like 'it's not fair!!!!!!!!!' about literally anything that doesn't go his way and xue yang is like 'obviously my finger is worth more than hundreds of lives because. it was mine.'

One of the socialist things I’d like to see ALONG WITH UBI (not instead of) is a government option for all basic neccesities. I am aware that the government option would -suck- and as long as it’s survivably functional, I’m fine with that. When I was a kid, we got monthly commodity food boxes. They’d be filled with food that looked like this:

And in lean months, it would be that and whatever we could get from the garden, or forage/fish, or trade with friends and neighbors. My mom had this awesome recipe for peanut butter balls that utilized the powdered milk, shit-quality peanut butter, and maple-flavored corn syrup that we routinely got in our box and actually made it good. 

I think that these things should be available for purchase at every supermarket, and that the prices should be fixed with relation to the minimum wage. All brands should have to compete with the government option - if SPAM is going to be more expensive than LUNCHEON MEAT in the silver can, then it needs to justify that cost by being better quality.

I want the same thing for housing. I want fucking Commie Blocks to be an option.

This would combat runaway inflation by putting a price cap on survival needs. It would guard against shrinkflation, because a consumers could compare the Government Standard portion to the brands. UBI ought to be such that it covers The Government Option for food, housing, clothing, transit etc. with generous wiggle room for emergency savings and little joys in life. 

Everyone should get their own UBI account in their own name at birth, along with their social security number. It should follow the individual regardless of guardianship. Parents/guardians should have incrementally less and less control over said funds as the child gets older, and should have to provide itemized receipts of how money taken from a child’s account is spent (Similar to what you have to do if you’re in control of an elder’s social security money).

After Aizen is dealt with, Urahara is facing some pretty significant personal problems: his rejection by the 12th division, being pregnant with his first child (and Yoruichi's nervous breakdown of impending parenthood) and Nihofornia's National Tax Agency finally catching up to him. As a shinigami, Urahara is aware of the many ways to shimmy around death, but there is no certainty like Taxes.

It's Don Kanonji, the most reasonable and level-headed adult in the whole damn fic, who proposes the solution: between his careers of swimsuit model, UN Translator, exorcist and fashion designer, Don is also a Certified Accountant. After going over she shoebox full of miscellaneous receipts and assorted Papers That Might Be Important, Don negotiates a deal with the tax agency around Kisuke's dubious status as a citizen and even more dubious bookkeeping: kisuke will sell the business to someone with a real social security number and pay up a large percentage of the staggering amount of money he owes in exchange for being allowed to rent the building from the new owners and continue his path to legitimate citizenship and no further financial chicanery.

"NO." Every single person in the building, including the shop kids and Ichigo, who had been passed out under the table after training, but was stirred to consciousness by an impending sense of danger before passing out again.

"Killjoys." Urahra muttered, sulking under his hat.

"Regardless, its a perfectly legal and honestly very generous offer for this heap, and as your financial advisor, I urge you to take it." Don Kanonji glared over his glasses at Urahara.

"So what, you boys get a cut of the candy money and rent? Cause that ain't much of a savvy deal on your end. This place runs at a debt."

"Oh no, you can keep the candy revenue and I'll only ask for enough rent to cover utilities." Mizuiro smiled. "What we want is a cut of your commission as a licensed Gotei-13 outlet contractor!"

"...But I'm not a contractor?" Urahara blinked.

"...Do you just. Not read things before you sign them?" Keigo glared.

"Yeah, you're not just in hock to the NTA, the Soul Revenue Service is after you too for running a fake Gotei-13 service center, and bailing on a century's worth of filings by faking your death." Mizuiro frowned at him with concern. "So e of those papers you signed when you resumed your identity and job as captain- however briefly were the result of Captain Kyoraku cutting you one HELL of a parole deal with the SRS, but the agreement was that Urahara Shoten would be the base of operations for ALL the shinigami operating in Karakura, under the direct supervision and control of the Gotei-13 and he sure wasn't stingy with the budget he gave you! Well. The budget he gave me and Keigo to spend since I'd be the property owner and Keigo would be the business owner."

"Aaaand since you also signed the soul society official secrets agreement, it's not like you can ask someone else to buy you out from the NTA, so not only are we your best offer, we're your ONLY offer!" Keigo grinned.

Urahra stared at them blankly. "You've set me up." He mumbled.

"You sent yourself up for this when you failed to do your due diligence when signing contracts." Don Kanonji corrected him, pulling some documents out of the folder and signing them, before pushing them across the table. "Please actually read these before you si- you've already signed them." Don Kanonji groaned as Urahara slapped the pen back down on the table with spite.

"Fine, fine- I guess I'm back to following orders instead of giving them. What do you want, Boss?" He glared at Keigo.

"Put your feet up and finish putting together that gift list for the baby shower." Keigo nodded. "We weren't kidding that your first priority is getting this place ready for baby... Does it have a name yet?"

"...No." Kisuke wilted despondently. "Yoruichi still isn't answering my texts!"

"Hm." Keigo nodded. "Okay, put your feet up, finish that baby shower list and think of a name for the little rugrat. Just leave the rest to us for now!"

"You guys are good kids." Kisuke smiled weakly.

"Would you be willing to make a sworn statement to that effect, so we can have it on file for any future HR disputes?" Mizuiro smiled.

"Absolutely goddamn not." Kisuke glared.

one of my favorite things to think about is people becoming collectively weirder. I've talked about the people of Gotham just becoming stranger as a result of living in Gotham and being around other Gothamites, and that same vibe applies.

Mostly, I've been thinking about the crew of the USS Enterprise starting out weird by Starfleet standards and making each other worse.

Like, imagine that Kirk is originally the only one with a boot knife (bc trauma) but that boot knife helps save their asses on away missions so many times that now the entire bridge crew and all of security have boot knives, and that starts to extend to everyone who goes on away missions, until everyone on the crew has a boot knife and it just becomes normal. Like, someone asks to borrow your boot knife and its not even remarked upon. Crew members that are sufficiently close can just pull someone else's boot knife without anything being remarked about it.

It just becomes a Thing, where if you ever get lost somewhere, or if you're in a hostage situation, you want an Enterprise crew member with you. They keep cool heads in a crisis (Crisis? must be tuesday during alpha shift) they all know things that they probably shouldn't (the captain and security teams have self defense tutorials as well as lessons on how to escape various bindings and basic lock picking) and are generally insane. Oh, and again, they all have knives.

Scenario: Their presence felt comforting to you despite everything that went down. You felt safe to open up about your insecurities to them also. Arguments are an inevitable part of any relationship, but this argument was probably the worst one you've had by far. In the heat of the argument they insult you on the very things you're insecure about. And your reaction to that was a tearful "Thanks for basically confirming that I really can't trust anybody."

How would Vil, Riddle, Jamil, and Azul react to this?

Azul Ashengrotto:

Azul, a man who was careful about allowing his weaknesses to see the light of day, knew he had taken advantage of your trust. It was only natural for him, a born businessman who had started from the bottom and was now securely at the top, to use every bit of information he had on you to prove a point; to get the upper hand in an argument that truly didn’t matter.  He had always fought to change his ways, to have his defenses up constantly, to not have his heart protected by reinforced walls, but it felt like an impossible task for someone like him.

Jamil Viper:

Jamil was the king of self-sabotage. At certain points it seemed he created his own obstacles, tossing them in the path of your blossoming relationship and becoming frustrated when it took even more effort to remove them. He tended to avoid arguments as much as he could but there were times, especially when he was in a foul mood, where he couldn’t help but feel the spark of anger and take it out on you. You can’t say you’d ever expected to hear such horrible things from him, the attack so direct it was unmistakable that he was trying to hurt you beyond recognition. You wondered if the relationship would even be salvageable after this as it wasn’t the first time Jamil had tested your trust, and even as he looked full of regret he bit his tongue, creating yet another hurdle that may truly be impossible to overcome this time.

Riddle Rosehearts:

It’s all Riddle’s ever known. It was like falling back on an old habit you thought you kicked, filling him with guilt, embarrassment, and every horrifying emotion in between. It made him sick to his stomach to think that he was becoming his mother, the woman he had admired for so long before realizing the methods she used were cruel and unfair to him. He didn’t want to be her but it seemed a piece of her remained within him, not sure how to apologize to you if you could even forgive him for his harsh words. He valued your trust more than anything and it was an admitted weakness on his part that his temper got the better of him, but he had only said those things to hurt you in the way he was hurting, not meaning a bit of what he said.

Vil Schoenheit:

Vil was normally level-headed, with many of your arguments handled in a mature manner that left no open-ended questions. He disliked fighting but he there are some things he can’t help but get irritated over, and it can be difficult to rise to his standards at times. It almost felt like he was keeping a tally of every time you messed up or upset him as he had examples on hand to bring up, thoroughly ‘winning’ the argument to the detriment of your relationship. You had always worried you weren’t enough for him and words from his own mouth seemed to be prove that was the case, leaving you to shakily pack your things as you needed time away from him. If it proved a better existence, you couldn’t say you’d ever come back, a fear Vil had to live with as you refused to respond to his texts or calls while you gathered your thoughts.

Have YOU got an old Windows PC Microsoft has told you can't run Windows 11? It's time to give it a new life!

How to install Windows 11 on unsupported PC Hardware using Rufus. You can also disable some other Windows 11 bullshit like data harvesting and needing a Microsoft account.

It has been in the news a lot lately that Windows 11 isn't allowed to be installed on PCs without certain requirements, including the TPM 2.0, a chip that was only included in PCs made in 2018 or later. This means that once Windows 10 stops receiving security updates, those PCs will not be able to (officially) run a safe, updated version of Windows anymore. This has led to an estimated 240 million PCs bound for the landfill. Thanks Microsoft! I get you don't want to be seen as the insecure one, but creating this much waste can't be the solution.

(I know nerds, Linux is a thing. I love you but we are not having that conversation. If you want to use Linux on an old PC you are already doing it and you don't need to tell me about it. People need Windows for all sorts of reasons that Linux won't cut.)

So lately I have been helping some under privileged teens get set up with PCs. Their school was giving away their old lab computers, and these kids would usually have no chance to afford even a basic computer. They had their hard drives pulled so I have been setting them up with SSDs, but the question was, what to do about the operating system? So I looked into it and I found out there IS actually a way to bypass Microsoft's system requirement and put Windows 11 on PCs as old as 2010.

You will need: Rufus: An open source ISO burning tool.

A Windows 11 ISO: Available from Microsoft.

A USB Flash Drive, at least 16GB.

A working PC to make the ISO, and a PC from 2018 or older you want to install Windows 11 on.

Here is the guide I used, but I will put it in my own words as well.

Download your Windows 11 ISO, and plug in your USB drive. It will be erased, so don't have anything valuable on it. Run Rufus, select your USB drive in the Device window, and select your Windows 11 ISO with the Select button. (There is supposed to be a feature in Rufus to download your ISO but I couldn't get it to work.?

Choose standard windows installation, and follow the screenshot for your settings. Once you are done that, press Start, and then the magic happens. Another window pops up allowing you to remove the system requirements, the need for a microsoft account, and turn off data collecting. Just click the options you want, and press ok to write your iso to a drive.

From there you just need to use the USB drive to install windows. I won't go into details here, but here are some resources if you don't know how to do it.

If you had a licensed copy of Windows 10, Windows 11 will already be licensed. If you don't, then perhaps you can use some kind of... Activation Scripts for Microsoft software, that will allow you to activate them. Of course I cannot link such tools here. So there you go, now you can save a PC made from before 2018 from the landfill, and maybe give it to a deserving teen in the process. The more we can extend the lives of technology and keep it out of the trash, the better.

Additional note: This removes the requirement for having 4GB Minimum of RAM, but I think that requirement should honestly be higher. Windows 11 will be unusable slow on any system with below 8GB of RAM. 8GB is the minimum I think you should have before trying this but it still really not enough for modern use outside of light web and office work. I wouldn't recommend trying this on anything with 4GB or less. I am honestly shocked they are still selling brand new Windows 11 PCs with 4GB of ram. If you're not sure how much RAM you have, you can find out in the performance tab of Task Manager in Windows, if you click the More Details icon on the bottom right. If you don't have enough, RAM for old systems is super cheap and widely available so it would definitely be worth upgrading if you have a ram starved machine you'd like to give a new life.

I haven't thought much of this au, but basically, the Batfam, including Alfred, are all Fae. Wife! Darling is a human who managed to fool Bruce Wayne into a trap and forcing him to strike a deal with her in order to secure her position and her children, who by the way, are half-breeds. Half Fae, half human. Her firstborn is actually Bruce's biological child, but he never knew about her because he didn't bother checking on the woman after that night. Meanwhile, Wife! Darling was eventually courted by another Fae male, falling in love and having his children, a set of twins. A human boy and a girl with Fae magic. They were an unconventional but happy family...until something happened that took her mate away from her, leaving them in a dangerous position. She sought out Bruce in a desperate attempt to protect her kids from the threats, knowing from her former partner that humans can in fact trick faeries too if they play the game right.

Because of this, the tension between both sides is even higher than in the canon universe au because faeries usually disregard humans as inferior to them and generally not worth their time, but Wife! Darling forced her way into the household with her kids and she has no intention of backing. Not to mention she tricked Bruce Wayne, one of the most powerful Fae lords, without using magic.

Another detail of this au is that, here, humans getting pregnant by Fae is very rare, since their bodies aren't supposed to stand the magic, and most of the time they can't ever carry the pregnancy to term. Either they have miscarriages or they both die before birth. Wife! Darling is considered a rarity, an anomaly, because she birthed three half-fae children and they all survived. Not just that, but they're also healthy, despite the scars she carries from the childbirth process. Also, the twins are a miracle. The magical twin should've absorbed the human one or at least killed him at birth with magic, but they both made it.

Bruce and his wife are bounded by a magical thread: She'll remain married to him and use his name to her benefit until her children are old enough to move away and have their own lives. Then, she'll leave him and won't try to contact him or the family ever again. Until the danger threatening their lives passes.

Problem arises when years go by, the kids grow...and suddenly the Batfam find themselves not quite liking the idea of their humans leaving the house.

Specially when mating bonds are suddenly snapping in place...more than just one.

so here comes THE PLOT

season 1

meeting Charlie, Vega and their startup (a shelter for sinners during Exterminations), Charlie's meeting to Alastor and Niffty; Vega, of course, suspects that Alastor is just out for some further gain, and Niffty is just living life and doesn't mind working

information about Charlie's childhood, growing up and views in the first half of the season: we should know very well what motivates her and why she thought about injustice against sinners

story of her failed marriage to Seviathan, independent motherhood and the fact that even with all this, Seviathan helped her with the building of the asile

overall the first season focuses on simple local stories, basic world building and basic character information

but, of course, with hints that Vega has secrets, and Angel Dust hired as a janitor for a reason, being absolutely terrible at household chores

the only one with whom everything is crystal clear at the moment is Niffty, but without delving into her mortal past, because she doesn't remember much; it's known where she worked before Charlie's orphanage, and her connection to the Cannibal town and its governor is well-known

Alastor is a charming sarcastic lad, and Charlie is annoyed by that, but they're fun to flirt with each other, nothing serious

the small season boss is sir Pentious, but he works as a comedy villain

wake-up call boss is Valentino, and the story gets even darker by the finale; Angel worked for him as a security guard for prostitutes for a dose of drugs and has a vague idea of the inner workings of the sinners-overlord system

Vees as the main villains will be gone for a second season while enough Valentino

Charlie helps Angel finally get away from Valentino, by breaking their magical blood contract thanks to her half-brother, Asmodeus (Valentino is tainted by Asmodeus' blood), and it gives you reason to think that Charlie's been holding back A LOT about family ties

cliffhanger: Vees triumvirate and a hint that the main characters will have PROBLEMS with them

season 2

the beginning of the season is the meeting of the overlords through Alastor; among all the others, we get to know lady Rosie fully for the first time and learn about her and Alastor's acquaintance

there's no intrigue: they're JUST husband and wife in "couple who have been friends for a long time, but married for smth like ~10 years by human standards and still full of passion (in a non-sexual way)" stage, that's all

yes, Alastor has a personal life, and he's just a man

Charlie doesn't know it yet; however, Charlie quickly learns of Alastor's marital status when he decides to make more useful connections and decides to meet the local dark elf neighborhood governoress in person

in response to the question "why didn't you tell me you're married?" Alastor replies "you didn't ask"

more information about overlords (some of them try to save and care for people, some of them just use ones; story about Angel's family and Salvatore's sect)

again simple stories, but with a tighter focus on the characters and their pasts

Husk, who was introduced in the first season in a "haha funny grumpy cat that Niffty found in the attic" way and who slowly became local psychologist, turns out to be more complicated, and much older

he has no connection to Alastor, except that Alastor has caught his sunset as an overlord, and Husk prefers to keep the status quo and not talk about it MUCH

in general, this is where we learn more about Alastor, including his past; he has no long-range plans, he is absolutely satisfied with his current position

Pentious moves from hostility to neutral status and makes a truce with Cherri Bomb, Angel's friend who once helped him to escape from Valentino's tower; they start to become friends on the background of common interests, but so far very cautiously

Charlie visits Eden again, and Emily meets her already as an older friend; Charlie asks her to find more information on her friends-sinners, as he notices that it is the preservation of their sanity and memory that helps them to hold up better in the atmosphere of Sheol

in general, in the second season Charlie discovers that she can not only give the sinners shelter during the Exterminations, but also cure their mentality

speaking of the Exterminations: since the timeline of events is five years, they happen, but Adam's face and Adam himself remain a mystery to us (we know the exorcist leader's name, but haven't seen him in person)

Vees are the main villains, and Vox's conflict with Alastor is not so much forceful as ideological: Vox heavily clings to human life and customs, Alastor argues that a new order must be adopted

in the final episode Velvette brings the exorcist's head

cliffhanger: Adam in Eden removes helmet, but his face is NOT shown yet

season 3

no one knows yet that the finale is going to be fucked up

the beginning of the season is a celebration of the last days of the Week of the world creation: the main characters have bonded enough and we've gotten used to the local world enough to show that Sheol can be very friendly and creative

how sad it would be if suddenly things got even WORSE! COCYTUS BREAK AND LONG WINTER

yay, a reason to update the skins

Adam doesn't agree to remove Exterminations JUST because of winter (oh please, you're like children)

Charlie has a beef with her father, who didn't deign to warn her, knowing she had important business to attend to

in the first half of the third season, Lucifer Morningstar is introduced face-to-face fully (he's only appeared in Charlie's past and flashbacks before, not near his daughter in current timeline), and we sure even more that he's a crappy father and a tired millennial ruler who doesn't care about posterity

full disclosure of their history with Adam, albeit only from Lucifer's perspective (shown in such a way that we realize HOW unreliable he's as a narrator)

Naamah, Lucifer's fourth wife, is surprisingly friendly to Alastor and happy to see him; Alastor is confused because he doesn't yet know that he is only the FOURTEEN person in the entire story to survive eating the flesh of a demon

Pentious, who in the season 2 finale decides to join Charlie's gang, finally becomes their friend and bromances with Cherri

Vega's final closing arc, because Charlie becomes convinced of her origins; however, it's a secret that everyone guessed (Vega is clearly older than she said, clearly not just a prostitute and behaves more like a brawler)

no one puts it to her fault, especially Husk, who knew about it from the beginning; they're close friends, and Husk is used to keeping quiet about the past if it doesn't affect anyone

it's this season's final confrontation with Adam and the destruction of the asile (we're already attached to this place)

ofc some hellborns, include part of cannibal branch and local rural imps, help them

sir P dies, one of Charlie's dragon sons dies, all get traumas

Charlie takes her full form, and Adam is amazed that she's, well, a human girl in appearance

Charlie resolves the issue of bloodshed through a raised level of diplomacy; Adam doesn't agree to stop the Exterminations because it's a form of mercy and end to eternal suffering (sinners don't die fully unless their throats are slit with sacred steel)

Charlie is forced to agree with him, but unexpectedly Adam rebukes Lucifer for his obligation to allow sinners to be purified through Purgatory: Lucifer closed it when Adam started Exterminations after the first Crusade

final boss is LUCIFER MORNINGSTAR

Lucifer doesn't give the appearance of being happy to see him; after short (and almost failure for him) fight he, in his usual dismissive manner, allows Charlie to open Purgatory and become its mistress

somewhere in Eden sir Pentious is freaking out that after death he is human again and can walk on his feet

somewhere in Sheol Nifty is freaking out that she has both eyes back to normal and less headaches

redemption works even through death and rebirth, and the process of body rebirth can be reversed through a good attitude and restored sanity

Charlie's gang in final epilogue episode

winter has ended, spring has come

Charlie becomes the queen of Purgatory and continues to help mortals

Razzle stays with her as dragon son bodyguard, so Charlie is the mother of dragon literally

Vega and Angel remain her most loyal companions

Vega refuses to return to Eden because she believes she will be more useful here, in a place where humans have a hard time

she finds her father in the foreshadowing of Sheol, on the banks of Styx (he kept sanity and body), and bursts in tears after his "hello, María, my little girl" (her mortal name is María de la Vega); it's the first time when we see how she's crying

Angel preaches to sinners, being a sinner himself who has traveled a difficult path, and hopes to redeem and meet his sister in future

now we're free; will see you again, but not yet, not yet

Alastor says "my work here is done" and leaves to live his best life in Sheol: he's returning to half-woods-half-civilized roots as the most natural life for someone between human and deer

at least, he's a part of this world now like Goethe's Erlking, and he really loves this world

Cherri Bomb stays close to Purgatory with her recently deceased brother, Aidan, and one-eyed crow demon Frank (he was sir P's beloved egg boy), whom she promised Pentoius to take care of

she also helps humans and has finally begun to uncover her badly scarred face (she ties up her hair with Pentious' scarf, which he gave her shortly before his death)

sir Pentoius himself befriends Emily, helping her explore the question of redemption further, but the memories and scales on hands are forever with him

Niffty basically doesn't care, but for now she helps Charlie while continuing to be friends with Alastor and Rosie, for whom she's become a named niece or even almost an adopted child

If you were directing and writing one SpideyPool movie, with all creative freedom you desire, what kind of movie will you make?.

A buddy action movie?, a romance, pure action, animation, live action, the muppets being protagonist? what would you want your perfect movie to be?

okay... hoh. dang. okay. i think...

i think i'd actually... i think it would be a spider-man movie that introduces deadpool as peter's foil / villain - maybe someone's hired deadpool to expose peter's identity or, i don't know, even kill him (but obviously deadpool doesn't fully expect to see it through and kind of just took the job because he thought it would be fun and he's a big fan.) spider-man doesn't know what to make of it - deadpool is friendly and flirty but uh. wants to kill him? i think maybe inevitably at the end of it, they both team-up to take down whoever it is that hired deadpool. very standard spideypool fair. enemies to allies. very textbook.

i think everyone wants to see spider-man and deadpool fight. i think everyone wants to see how spider-man and deadpool would go about in a battle-of-wits - i think everyone would want to see a cat-and-mouse game between them, and i think it's something we didn't really get to see from wade in the movies yet - wade being a bit of an insane tactician, and actually a - freaking brilliant and terrifying villain, just with how unpredictable his moves are. and i think he'd be such a brilliant foil in a spider-man movie because him and spider-man are so similar - deadpool basically spider-man but unhinged. and spider-man would absolutely despise this fact. he'd hate that the news has mistaken the two or thinks that they're the same on account of the similar costumes - spider-man is absolutely of the impression deadpool is some stupid wannabe fanboy who's inadvertently wrecking his name. until spider-man gets to know deadpool a little better - maybe does his independent research - goes underground - maybe rebrands briefly, gets a new, grimier costume to hide in and starts navigating mercenary networks to find out more about deadpool. puts on the tough guy act so nobody suspects it's our funny little red and blue guy who's hanging out with all the mercenaries. bet he even puts on a batman voice. yeah. i think i'd love to see a spider-man movie that's wholly street-level - no big CGI villains, but peter is brushing shoulders with real terrifying, cold-blooded killers.

small potato stakes, too. the stakes are peter's life or his identity. no greater-universe nonsense, no world-ending stakes. just peter's safety and security and to a lesser degree his reputation (if he gets found out) - maybe deadpool finds him while he's undercover - puts peter in a situation where he has to expose himself - probably a morally questionable situation, where peter has to make a kill but can't - and deadpool has him cornered again. just... augh. a cat-and-mouse spider-man and deadpool movie would be so, so fun. and it would be SOOO fun so see wade as a villain. he was intended to be a villain. not a great villain, by any means - but a villain, nonetheless. it would just be so good to see wade play the role of the villain. yeah. he has his grand change-of-heart by the end and spider-man and deadpool part ways with a complicated acquaintanceship. and wade probably walks away with a feeling that he can be more.
