Frieden in planetaren Grenzen – Gemeinsame Sicherheit heute Wie kann eine europäische Friedensordnung nach dem Jahr 2022 aussehen? Wie kann es Frieden geben – mit Russland, China und dem Westen? Welche Anhaltspunkte für einen nachhaltigen Frieden können wir aus den engen Grenzen unserer natürlichen Lebensgrundlage gewinnen? 40 Jahre nach dem Mainzer Appell haben die Triebkräfte einer „kannibalischen Weltordnung“ (Jean Ziegler), einer zerstörerischen Wachstums- und Aufrüstungsideologie die menschliche Zivilisation einmal mehr an den Rand der Vernichtung gebracht. Die Wissenschaft produziert das Wissen für Kriege, Ausbeutung und Unterdrückung. Demokratische Wissenschaft birgt aber auch das Wissen über die Voraussetzungen gemeinsamer Sicherheit, nachhaltigen Frieden und einen Wandel vom Verbrauch zum Gebrauch der natürlichen Lebensgrundlagen des Menschen. Auf der Veranstaltung werden konkrete Ansätze für die existenzielle Herausforderung diskutiert: „Wie weiter für Frieden, Umwelt und Demokratisierung?“
