Hey again, it’s me, the new anon! I’m very happy to hear that you’re still accepting new frnry thoughts, because boy do I have some…though actually, my first idea is kind of based on a post of yours from back in 2023, when you mentioned liking the idea of prey killing a parasite in the pred’s guts, ahaha.

I was thinking, poor Gordn seems like he’s the most worried about infections and the like, given how I seem to recall him complaining about having an open wound near probably-unclean water (which is very valid, given the whole fragile human thing). So what if he did get something from all that water, just not an infection…but rather a parasite living inside him?

He doesn’t find out until he goes to a doctor post-everything (maybe as a requirement for the compensation/hush money?) and basically barely holds it together in the office and majorly panics once he leaves. Sure, there are medications that can kill it, but he can’t stand this, he needs it out now. He gets home—and by this point in time Benby has returned and is living with Gordn after explaining that he didn’t truly intend to be hostile, he was playing a predetermined role—and Benb notices that Gordn is Not Doing Well. He’s learned from BMesa that he needs to be a little gentler with Gordn when the guy’s stressed, so he asks what’s wrong…and gets a panicked infodump in response.

Unfortunately, Benby’s reply of “oh hey. i can fix that.” gets a “What?” in response instead of the excitement he was hoping for, but he can roll with this. He tries to explain a little bit further. “i can get it for you. snipe it. 360 no scope it, y’know.” And this time, Gordn seems to understand. “You can kill it? Right now?”

Benb nods, a little excited now that Gordn seems hopeful. “yeah! just gotta, uh, find it first. gotta take a look around.”

Aaaand now Gordn’s back to wary. “What does ‘take a look around’ mean, exactly?” Benb looks confused. “uh, i’m not killing it from out here, man. don’t wanna hit some of your insides by mistake, that’d be…no good, ultra sucks. gotta take a lil’ wander ‘round and find the thing.”

“So…you want to…go inside my digestive system. To hunt down this parasite.”

“yep.”

“…fuck, I really want this thing out. Fine. Go ahead.”

Gordn thinks Benby’s just going to clip into him, so he’s surprised when the alien shrinks down and then just stands there. “lil help, bro?”

“With what?”

“like i said, gotta be careful with your insides. didn’t you hear?”

“So then how are you getting in?”

“what, mister m.i.t. can’t figure it out?”

Gordn pauses for a moment. “Wait, but—won’t I just digest you if I eat you?”

“nah. ‘s not eating me anyway, you’re not gonna bite me or anything. just gonna swim on through and stuff, i’ll be fine. don’t worry.”

So Gordn, after a minute of deliberating, picks Benb up and carefully places him inside his mouth, trying really hard to ignore all of his natural reflexes that are telling him to bite down, to press the thing inside to the roof of his mouth, and to swallow—well, at least until Benby crawls to the back of his tongue and he gulps instinctively, swallowing the little guy whole. Gordn gasps, but can’t really say much until Benb’s out of his throat, swallowing harder in an effort to get him down.

As soon as Benb winds up in his stomach, Gordn’s frantically asking him if he’s okay, and is both relieved and surprised to be able to hear Benb reassuring him that yes, he’s fine, nothing hurts, he’s got this covered. So…he just sits down, awkwardly waiting for the next step…but funnily enough, Benby just starts chatting to him while wandering through his intestines. “bro, why are your insides all…wiggly down here?” // “Hahaha—what do you mean, wiggly?! Oh—are you talking about the villi? The little things covering the walls? Those are for absorbing nutrients.” // “huh.” (Benb is too busy celebrating over making Gordn laugh to really notice what he said)

Eventually, though, Benb goes silent, and Gordn’s just about to ask him if he’s okay when he hears “found you, fucker.” hissed so quietly he wonders if he was meant to hear that. Abruptly, his stomach lurches at the reminder that he has a parasite inside him…but somehow, it calms down quickly when he remembers that Benb’s about to get it for him. He hears nothing again for nearly half a minute, and then a satisfied snarl. Gordn assumes that means Benby killed the parasite, and relaxes back into the couch, letting out a long sigh.

“whoa, you okay? everything got shaky for a sec.” // “Sorry, I’m just…actually really glad. You got it, right?” // “yep. deader than the u.s. military.”

Gordn laughs again, relieved and glad. “Thanks…I really appreciate it.”

“oh, uh, yeah, no prob, dude. anytime.” (Benb is definitely blushing)

…it’s only several hours (and one extremely strange throat-climb) later that he thinks to ask how Benb killed the parasite, and finds out that his alien roommate ate it.

Jazz: Oh really? You don’t remember? Let me refresh it for you. Your snack became sentient, tore a hole through the drywall, and started attacking us. At 2am. We lost our security deposit.

Danny: The landlord couldn’t prove anything! They didn’t even show up on the security cameras!

I’m now just thinking about the coping mechanisms the survivors might have that are just part of their everyday routine.

Like who do you think has to have a kitchen fully stocked at all times. Who could tell you exactly how long they could last with what’s in their fridge, who makes sure it never goes below a set amount of days, especially in winter.

Or carry snacks on their person always, several energy bars, maybe a water bottle.

Do you think some carry around first aid supplies or even something and simple as a tooth brush, telling themselves it’s pointless but can’t shake the fear of needing essentials and them not being in reach?

Do you think they keep a penknife hidden in a bag? A compass? A lighter?

And I know we’ve talked about some becoming vegetarians, but think about how they might have also stopped eating berries or soup as that felt too similar to what they eat out there, or not able to have hot drinks as it reminded them of freshly boiled drinking water?

I'm not sure that the former theater robots turned daycare attendants would be as privy to the extent of how invasive the program editing would be to keep the Pizzaplex's main attractions ... uh, let's say "up to snuff." After all, when you have to deal with the children AND adults all day there are certain subjects that should be avoided.

So sorry that this took so long, but part 3 is finally here!!! Scripting for part 4 is under way and uhhhhh... fighting with myself on whether a part 5 would be too much. It looks like this comic won't be done before the end of the year, but I don't mind. I just hope you'll follow me and this story into the next year, and maybe stick around for all the ones i make afterwards! Happy Holidays everyone!!!
