OKAY SO . honestly!!!! when it comes to writing for any character ….. i think the best way to go about it is just to read/watch the source material, and then build your own interpretation of the character in question!!! :3 there’s no correct way to write suguru, and personally i think the most fun part of writing/reading fanfic is seeing all the different takes on him!! but it’s a good idea to at least get some impression of what he’s Actually Like through the manga or anime…. after that you can decide how you see him and how you want to write him!!

sugu in particular is also just…. soooo full of contrasts which is why i think a lot of ppl find him difficult to write for 😭😭 i tend to focus on one particular aspect of his character for every piece i write for him!! when i’m writing for cult leader geto i want to give a different impression than i do when writing for a happy au sugu…. etcetc!!! but if i had to give on tip(?) on his character just based on how i personally write him, i’d say the key is his softness!!! it’s just my own interpretation but i really do see him as being very soft at heart, no matter which sugu i’m writing for. even cult geto is extremely soft for the people he cherishes, while also being cold and cruel in some of his actions!!!! so. that’s one thing you could keep in mind if you’d like to!!!

but again …. it rlly is just up to you!!! there’s never anything wrong with experimenting and building your own version of a character when writing for them :33 it’s a lot of fun!!! and getting inspired by other takes on him that you see on here could also help you a bunch. i hope your sugu writing journey goes smoothly!!!!!!!!

Okay, not a big post, but let me tell you. The first day when these things started to come alive was one of the most horrifying days for Bad and Mouse.

Bad has been in that house for what has felt like forever and Mouse has only been there for a few days (4-5, give or take). So when the notebook starts signing, Mouse immediately jumps onto to Bad and Bad holds onto her tightly (Mouse never speaks about this, but Bad finds it hilarious despite the situation). In the end, everything felt like a fever dream. Especially the whole being creative themselves.

I also want to say that Bad's favorite colors are red and gold while Mouse's is pink and purple. The notebook, however, says that red and pink aren't creative colors (and when I post the whole thing that happened during that episode, you'll get to know why in the notes I'll put)

I finished act 2 again, but properly this time. and I cannot even begin to put into words how satisfying and beautiful all of that was. I loved act 2 the first time I played, but figuring out how to save the last light this time, properly completing halsin's quest, storming moonrise towers with jaheira and her harpers, seeing aylin reunite with isobel...all of it. I love it even more. and the beginning of act 3 feels all the more rewarding, having fixed my past errors.

AU: wherein Childe and Foul Legacy split into two beings

Childe was in one of his rare moods, drained, irritable after being played by one of his fellow Harbingers in one of their meetings. It happened so fast - you asked him what he wanted to eat, so you could whip it up for him. And then in the next second you asked him how his day went and you also asked him about something random that you didn't remember anymore. It was just one of those habits that you have - asking multiple questions at a time when you're curious. Childe pressed his fingers against his eyeballs, mouth in a firm line. You didn't catch on immediately that he was in one of his states. You have been so joyful this week, having spent your days no longer alone at home but with Legacy, as you like to call FL. Now that they were two beings, it didn't feel right to continue calling him Childe's name. You wanted to honor his identity, so you called him that.

Childe answered back rather sarcastically and that was it. Words flew back and forth, sharp and lethal. It was you who stepped back first, realizing how wrong it was. But just as you were about to try to apologize, you heard Childe say, 'Things would have been easier if I never met you.' Your eyes, so full of hurt, flashed to his startled ocean blue eyes. You walked fast, out the living room and towards your room, away from Childe and away from his words. He called out to you but you just pressed on forward. Thank the Archons you didn't share a bedroom with Childe. You needed the distance. Legacy stood by the doorway, growling at Childe, before running up to you. You heard the claws digging into the wood, the weight of your beloved Legacy as he hurried to you. You locked the door before he could get in. You couldn't let him see you like this. Across from you, the mirror showed a girl so sad and broken. You sniffed, willing the tears in your eyes not to fall. On the other side of the door, Legacy whined, turning the door knob gently. He could just destroy the door if he wants to but he wanted you to let him in. He wasn't Childe. He would never hurt you. His abyssal heart ached at the sound of your crying. An almost wolf-like howl erupted from the other side of the door. It was such a lonely sound, it pierced your soul. In worry, you opened the door only to see a very sad moth looking at you with his one eye shining with tears unshed. You crumpled at the sight. You were making him sad, too. Carefully, Legacy picked you up in a hug. Talons gently rubbing the back of your head, stroking your hair. He sniffed a couple of times before attempting a coo. With one foot, he closed the door. He settled you in your giant bean bag, which also served as his nap bed. Tears continued flowing down your cheeks. Childe's words hurt but in Legacy's embrace, you felt warm and cozy. It reminded you of Childe, still, how he would keep you in his arms during cuddles. At the thought, an onslaught of tears came forward. You buried your face against Legacy's fluff. The Abyssal monster whined softly in worry. Still, the clawed hand never stopped stroking your hair. He never stopped trying to comfort you. When the tears stopped, you hugged him tight, your body curled into a ball on his lap. Legacy nudged your cheek, crooning. He suddenly put you carefully on the bean bag and went out the door.

Archons, you hoped that he wasn't going to call Childe just yet.

The door opened. A horned head peeked into the room at you, spotting your tearless form, he chirped. Then the door opened and revealed Legacy carrying a tray filled with your favorite snacks. He set it on your lap, making sure nothing toppled. You couldn't help but beam at him. Your fingers went to his head, petting him. You thanked him softly. Truth be told, you didn't have an appetite but you can't let his effort go to waste. With every bite of food, Legacy chirped in happiness.

Legacy spent the day sticking to your side. When Childe was even remotely close to you, Legacy would cover your body with his, coming in between you and Childe, protecting you. A low growl would come from his throat, a warning for your lover. Legacy was free now, a different being. He would protect you.

Upon seeing Legacy acting like your personal knight, Childe sighed. It was going to be harder to apologize to you now. You wouldn't even look at him. He kept shooting you pleading looks, only for Legacy to hiss at him from across the room and block his line of sight. The abyssal monster loved you to bits, but it was making it more difficult to approach you.

Night time came. Childe knocked at your door. It opened on the third knock and revealed a hulking masked Legacy, who was already growling low. Childe sighed and motioned Legacy to come outside. Childe showed Legacy the presents he got you, the flowers he ordered from the best florist in Liyue. After explaining, Legacy looked less hostile. Childe confidently strode towards the door but an arm blocked him. Legacy pointed at his one eye and then pointed at Childe, his version of saying 'im watching you'. Childe nodded in understanding. The door opened slowly, and you peeked out at the two men. Legacy huffed as Childe approached you, with a bouquet of your favorite flowers behind his back. His eyes softened as he looked at your red rimmed eyes. His own eyes began to water when you looked down at the floor, crestfallen. You took a step back but kept the door open. He couldn't undo the morning but he was hoping to make up for it in the days ahead starting right now.

*EATS THIS IN TWO SECONDS* Macchiato how do you do it??? how do you write something amazing every time i see you!! :DDDD

Childe's heart sinks when he sees the tense way you hold yourself, how you keep your distance from him, instead opting to sit on your bed and stare at the ground. Foul Legacy watches from the doorway as Childe quietly slides onto the bed next to you, blinking back tears when you flinch slightly. the flowers are in his lap, but now they seem like too much; too gaudy, so instead he slides the brightest, most beautiful blossom out from the bouquet. he turns and raises his hand to set it in your hair, but Foul Legacy growls when Childe brushes against your shoulder, curling his claws into fists and hissing until you nod, ever-so-slightly, in Childe's direction.

you don't look up at him, but you don't turn further away, allowing him to tuck the flower stem behind your ear. there's a moment of silence, hanging thickly in the air, almost suffocating you, before Childe inhales.

"I'm sorry..."

you say nothing as the dam breaks, tears flowing down your face and onto your hands as you attempt to wipe them away. Foul Legacy lets out a concerned whine and comes to sit on your other side, nudging his face against your cheek and crooning gently. Childe holds back his own tears, taking your hand and massaging the back of it with his thumbs, because this is about you and your hurt that he caused. over and over he apologizes, pressing his forehead to the back of your hand as you cry, Legacy on your other side, cooing and chittering gently. but you apologize too, saying you won't ask questions anymore and won't be annoying, and Childe gasps and grips your hand against his chest like a lifeline.

"please, don't ever say that." he murmurs; because you're not annoying, you're not a burden or something he only puts up with- you're you, who captured his heart and Foul Legacy's. your questions and curiosity are wonderful, oh, how Childe loves the way your eyes shine when you wonder about the world and the people around you. and you sniff, clearly not at ease but silent once again, and turn towards him.

Childe's heart almost bursts when you lean against him for the first time that day, hands almost immediately finding a place in your hair. Legacy rumbles quietly, satisfied, running his claws up and down your back, and quickly you drift off to sleep, all your tears shed. Childe presses a delicate kiss to your forehead and sets you down onto your bed, and, to his surprise, Foul Legacy leans down to mimic his movements, pressing his faceplate against your forehead to mimic a kiss. Childe backs out of the room, the bouquet in hand, watching as Legacy peacefully curls around you, careful not to damage the flower in your hair.

when you awake the next morning, the flower's still there, and the rest are in an elegant vase on the front table, where Childe waits with a soft smile.
