tonight im thinking about how tonraq and senna met. i love the fandom tropes of “he was wandering around after arriving in the South Pole, not realizing he was in a dangerous area” or “idiot gets into fights and keeps getting black eyes/broken ribs that the (cute) healer has to fix.” what are some of you guys’ favorite senraq meeting ideas???

Some senraq headcanons for the lovely @junesbiceps bc I felt like it

Tonraq gets lost a lot in his first few weeks in the south. Everything’s just so spread out compared to the north

Senna takes it upon herself to personally guide him places. Yes, she could just give him directions... or she could flirt

Tonraq does not pick up on the flirting at first tho bc he (like his daughter) is an oblivious buff nerd with a debilitating crush

He tries to impress Senna in increasingly dramatic ways: showing off when he’s with the other warriors, waterbending her ice sculptures, making woodcarvings, etc

He doesn’t realize he’s already impressed her

Also Senna is 100% the smooth one in the relationship once they get together

They love going out dancing together, even if neither of them are very good

One time Tonraq gets into a fistfight with another warrior bc he was being a sexist jerk towards senna and senna is like “ok you’re lucky you’re cute” but secretly is really pleased

Also Tonraq can bench press Senna bc I said so 🥰

senraq is korras parents correct? well. in that case. i love them. senna is a milf. tonraq is a dilf. what more can i say. their daughter korra? magnificent. you must be a sturdy ass couple if ur daughter is that fuckin great.

in all seriousness like i dont actively ship senraq? like i ship it because its canon and ig i dont rlly ship either with other characters because they arent rlly given that much screen time. but i dont actuvely seeknout senraq content if you catch my drift yk? like i wont seek out fics that are senraq centric (frankly idk if those even exist which is lowkey sad)

...i am so so sorry i do not know what this is. is this kuruk and his love interest?? i havent read the kyoshi novels yet (but i REALLY WANT TO and my friend got me the second one for christmas but she didnt realize it was the second one and ive never gotten a chance to buy the first one. damn i am slacking.) but i know hes like relevant in those books which is where im assuming this ship comes from.

i cant rlly give an opinion on it because i genuinely dont know what it is but maybe one day i will know what it is and seeing as i generally ship almosy anything with a good dynamic that isnt pedophilia or incest id probably like it lol.

thinking about how people think tonraq is this giant scary man before seeing him fumble over his words when talking to senna

when tonraq first gave senna a betrothal necklace she was just like “fuck is this?” cause senna never seen one before cause the south rarely does engagement items if ever, so tonraq had to explain it to her that it’s a northern engagement item and sennas just like “ok, we don’t do that here tho” and had to explain to him that most couples in the south are considered married when they have their first kid together
