besides the heart wrenching moment with maria, something i particularly liked about the trailer was the way shadow and emerl were being framed as enemies of a similar ilk like

shadow with his red energy??? kinda unnatural glowing quills???? emerl with a very familiar rich blue glow to his robotic eyes???? emerl’s way of fighting mirroring shadow’s in those last few frames????

like it’s riffing a bit off of shadow and sonic’s rivalry while highlighting their manufactured origins, the lab with all the energy (chaos energy maybe??), AND I LOVE TO SEE IT LOL

i like to think that after the trauma of idk gaining sentience, connor would have a hard time acclimating to, well, life and its constant demands. its gotten to the point were hank often forgets that connors light-ring-thingy could be anything but yellow or glaring red.

but those moments when he catches a rouge blue ring, while connors carefully painting a new frame for markus, or when hes wrapped tight in a blanket rewatching his favorite movie for the hundredth time (its wall-e. duh), or when he passes out in the sun with sumo during his first proper summer, those moments hank carefully cherishes.
