Obviously it doesn't apply to Debaser but I was wondering how you feel about Scream 3 and the narrative that it was all orchestrated by Roman. I feel myself constantly surrounded by people downplaying Billy's and Stu's role (with Roman also claiming Maureen's death) I felt like they take away a lot of our horror husbands' autonomy. When I watched it I feel like Roman gave Billy a hint and the rest was them (it also didn't feel like Billy really used Stu as the guy to take the fall like Roman said.) so idk I feel weird about how people see it and was curious about your thoughts?

I honestly think Scream 3 is an instance of some pretty bad screen writing in the context of the original trilogy. The dialogue and self-contained plot is mostly fine, I like the concept of the movie taking place on set with the director as the killer, but the reveal also weakens the impact of the first movie, which is still by far the best one in the franchise.

Honestly I dislike even the concept that Roman inspired Billy at all, part of what I like about the original is the fact that the motive isn't grand or justified, it's very much teenage bullshit, even if it matters a lot to Billy. It's petty, it's overkill, and with every murder after Maureen it's very obviously a weak excuse for the killing spree they go on.

The fact is that originally scream wasn't going to be a franchise. Roman was added in after the fact as a cause for the events of the first movie. Saw can pull that shit off because its a soap opera basically, but I expect a tighter plot from scream. I also dislike the way Roman's motivation pulls Maureen back into the situation again, and especially the fact that it ads sexual assault to her backstory. I found that unnecessary.

In context of the themes in the original trilogy I think it would have worked better not to connect Roman's motive back to scream 1 in that way. Scream 1 is a deconstruction of horror, scream 2 is a deconstruction of sequels, so scream 3 should deal with what we tend to see happening when a horror franchise gets popular enough to have 3 movies (and it sort of does? Just not as well as I think it could have).

At that point, it becomes part of the popular culture, its not just a genre flick anymore. We see funko pops and parodic depictions of the killers, knockoff merch, and sometimes we see real life acts of violence being blamed on them (Like with Childs play 3), because they're so omnipresent they're hard to avoid. We already see this happening in Scream 2 with the popularity of the Stab franchise and with Mickey, but I would have taken this a step further for Scream 3.

Roman shouldn't have been related to anyone in the original movie, and that should have been played as plot twist.

Roman's sole motive should have been to make a new movie, and to raise the stakes for the new millennium. In the 2000's we start to see a lot more gore than we got on screen before (think final destination, it comes out the same year as scream 3) and I think making a point of commenting on the need to raise the stakes for a desensitized audience that's already used to the state of play could have worked well.

So yeah, I don't like a lot about scream 3, I do not like Roman's motive or his involvement in the events of the first movie- because you're totally right, it does take Billy and Stu's agency in a way that makes Scream 1 hit a little less hard. Also you're right about the fact that it doesn't really feel like Billy is setting Stu up as a fall guy- because it wasn't a fucking part of the original script, it's a retcon.

i just LOVE this portrayal of him not knowing what to do in front of her.

for 20 years it was a far-fetched dream. he almost gave up his feelings for her. he tried to cut off seokryu from his life. but he can’t. and he almost accept the fact that maybe he can never confess to her and buried his feelings forever, until he finally did. and she broke his heart for her rejection with a lie. and he tried again to cut off their friendship. before he was slammed with the fact that she was sick and he failed to be with her. to be by her side like how she always had been for him. and even after that honest talk by the beach, he still wait for her answer. because her reason to reject him wasn't valid anymore. he knew it was an excuse when she reject him the first time. so he waits again. left her a voice note, hoping so that she finds it. to let her know his feelings for her remain unchanged even after 20 years, even after the milk expired.

and she finally answered him. that yes. he left a big void in her life while he was gone. that her life without him is not the same. because she knew now. that he will be with her in every circumstances, he will fall to the rock bottom with her. he is her bestfriend. but, she sees it now. that he is no longer just a friend. they both crossed the line unconsciously at first, but surely now.

seokryu had a belated realisation that she likes him more than a friend. but for seunghyo who had always knew where his heart lies, where it will always go. he can't take another step forward. he will always froze whenever she moves closer to him. it has always been that way. he froze, he malfunction. because he knew that she likes him now. it is no longer an unrequited love.

i just love him. he is so adorable and endearing. ohh this is just a start. i will rant about him in more posts for each and every scene of him. this guy is a gem.

This was actually kind of a pain but I really want to draw some in game scenes with Hopeless and Sinister - also I can't keep calling her "Hopeless", I wanna get her an "S" starting nickname.

Soft, Sharp, "Stranger", Sinister, and...? Shambly? Struggling? Sapped? Shattered? She's so cute though I love her.

I think it's so interesting the way we interact with the stranger princesses.

Instead of cutting Soft's hand off, we can see Quiet actually trying to break the chains instead.

Quiet decides to slay the Sharp, and she defends herself immediately (like in Tower/Adversary?)

Quiet tries to slay the Sinister, but she smiles gleefully (like in Razor?)

With "Hopeless" and "Stranger", Quiet just leaves. Thing is... If we leave Base Princess in chapter 1, she just turns into Nightmare.. so.. um.. maybe a branch off of Soft Princess when we leave her, she turns "hopeless" instead.

And well, Sinister already looks and kinda acts like the nightmarish Princess we see at the end of chapter 1 (leading up to Nightmare lol)

THE PROBLEM HERE! Is that I wanted to make "Hopeless" and Sinister to be like extra bases in this "au".. but I'm really not sure on how to do that in chapter 1 since there are already 3 in-game canon actions that can get you Soft, Sharp, and "Stranger"

Exploration options don't count as factors to change the Princess, at least not in chapter 1.

Maybe an action that might work would be to just.. wait in the woods. We've already tried to fight (confront), we've already tried flight (walk away), but there's really no freeze option. Ideas and perspectives could brew in Quiet's mind as he waits. What if she's dangerous? What if she's nothing but a helpless, frail princess? And when Quiet finally gets bored of waiting, he approaches the cabin, greeted by a princess. If Quiet waits long enough, he'll probably get Stranger in the end anyway.

The Sinister, a byproduct of Quiet's hesitation, he's cowered away from his "duty" for far too long. "Are you here to kill me? I didn't think anyone would be brave enough to remember me." (Wait > take blade)

It'd be hard to give her even a bit of a tender side.. I'm not sure about how to develop her next chapters since there are already so many violent princesses already.

The "Hopeless", she has lost any hope of getting out of there after waiting for so very long. "Hi..? Is anyone up there? Please don't give me false hope." (Wait > ignore blade)

Since she's already a pretty depressed character in chapter 1, it might be hard to give her a sharper, active side, but maybe you can lift her spirit up only to kill her afterwards. Maybe it'll anger her in some way. Her dim little spark, rekindled, just to be shattered once again.

Soul society arc byakuya definitely looked more colder and menacing <3 yeah i get it he was meant to look villainous because he was the main antagonist of the Ss arc but i wish he still had that spiky hair look and those sparkle-less eyes. the current artstyle of bleach is definitely jaw dropping and i love how they made him looking a bit "softer" COMPARED to the old artstyle cuz it does reflect his character development but ill always cherish this artstyle on byakuya!

of course the episode before that there was a huge mystery on who kills everyone and it's the TALKING DEMON PUPPY.

Today, our firm hosted a CLE about mental health and substance abuse in the legal profession. It was a well-done presentation, trying to fit the breadth of a decades-long systemic issue into a neat PowerPoint while keeping it at only one hour long (not .1 more or .1 less).

It feels like a pointless uphill battle. You're asked to make 2100 billed hours per year (or more). As a junior associate you need to achieve perfection - but you don't even know where the standard is, not yet, you're too new and you're trying your best. You're asked to attend non-billable CLEs and networking events and participate in bar associations and look ahead to business development and go out with your colleagues and socialize with clients in non-billable events and. and. and. You know who at the firm is an alcoholic - maybe you are too. You laugh at jokes about online gambling - you know the partner who gambled away his last paycheck, and he's laughing. You know who's filing for their third divorce. Who's about to lose the kids. Who missed their son's state-level championship game because they had a call with a prospective client (he won't forget, he'll never forget).

But they ask you to take care of your mental health (but you're chastised if you don't respond to the 1am email from the partner within 10 minutes). But they ask you to take care of your physical health (but there's a beer fridge in the break room). But they ask you to practice well-being (but they expect you on-call 24/7). But they tell you to get enough sleep (but the junior associate got less than an hour because of the partner's poor planning). But you need to look out for signs of mental health concerns in your peers (but you're also thinking about dying).

I could write a novel on this. Many attorneys have written similar ramblings, articles, studies, surveys, so I don't really need to. It's a problem. But there's been no real attempts at change. Sure, yes, there's awareness. But billable demands keep rising. So do standards in not just federal court, but state court. But you're at a firm that pays so well you'll endure whatever demands they put on you because that's just too damn good to lose. But you feel like shit every day. But- hey, well, the partner has been doing this for 45 years now. Why can't you?

Tho I will say, watching Rider or Berk for the second time this past 2 months and having rewatched the second movie recently, I do miss how sharp her smile (and also Tuffnut's, but this isn't about him XD) was back then. Its definitely lessened with time. Her features aren't as sharp as before, and it almost made her cat like? Idk, I thought it was cute and wish they stuck with it XD.

Wanted to post something but all my posts in my drafts I do see now as candidates to receive a potentailly mature content label in question, once I found out only today that I have not just a few of them tagged with that when I looked at tblr seen from my android mobile (it's fine on pc, mac and ipad (tho ipad hasn't the most recent app udate yet)).

That leads me to not wanting to post again/anymore here bc I fear now everything will (be in question to) get mature content labeling.

I mean: almost every 2nd shippy pic of Ryder and Thyjs posts have this and on most of them they are fully dressend and just kissing with hands exploring a bit/holding onto each other but there is nothing mature (at least not for me). Listen, I get why my nude posts of Ry and Thyjs may need such a label, tho for me it is just nude art and I took the pics so its not p*rn but that it looks decent instead. I would also be fine with the one where they are on the bed (still not entirely naked but dressed), but the one where Ryder is lying in Thyjs arms while they sit fully dressed on the stairs in their apartment is getting a potenially mature content lable in question?

one thing i have definitely ingrained in my mind and by extension wish other OC artists would explore more is costume design on TV and film and how good costume designers / stylists think about the fabrics and cuts and colors and how it informs the characters personality or what they might be going through. clothes are so important! viewed from practical sense, yes but also from the symbolic and how it can be a mirror to the characters soul. i feel like its so rare that thought behind the fashion styles gets transferred to visual arts like comics and games, because best case the driving force there is silhoutte and shape design, worst case it feels like nobody thought deeper than "yea that looks cool i guess" . like ok but what does it say about the character that they would wear that and style it that way?
