spoilers for the latest dungeon meshi ep but oh my GODDD i love marcille my pobrecita.. i think ryoko kui wrote sexism's effects on marcille really well, i think it's neat how she's a silly little guy and other people kind of underestimate her and it seems she is often down on herself about her failures or, "burdening" others in a way that feels very authentic to how it feels to be a woman and have that extra pressure of perfection to dispell suspicions of your inferiority. it's just very much the feeling i gather from it which makes marcille so relatable. and then to put another layer on it when it came out that she did black magic, she's literally A Bad Ass she is LITERALLY a Badass which makes her doubt of herself even more starkly inappropriate, and in this new episode despite the Fact that she is A Bad Ass when everyone's being a BIG MEANIE to her she's like a sad puppy when people don't let her help with revivals and like idk if i missed something but she doesn't even push back against them saying they're going to turn her in in like, a threatening way, she is just... scared. which hurt me i just wanted everyone stop being so MEAN TO HERRR my POBRECITAAAA. MY TINY LITTLE BABYY

i also laughed a lot and freaked out catching up on the two latest episodes today. DEVASTATING miscalculation on chilchuck's part to protect senshi when laois has No sense of Social cue. really happy to see laois and kabru meet, they're really funny together and i see why people like them so much as a ship now!! i am ECSTATIC that shuro is out of the game in terms of ehem. courting falin. bro COULDN'T HACK IT gEDDEM marcille. get that red dragon lady.. and omg it made me SOOOO MAD that they tried to blame marcille for that like how could that even b her fault!!! >:((( its obv the mad mage's doing. i dont get it they r just big meanies!!! stop shitting on my girl!!!

I just watched the Reacher movies and man I dont care what ppl say, Tom is awesome in them and does quiet brooding so well. I totally get the ppl who read the books and had someone else in mind, but I really have no idea why the second movie gets so much shit as a movie, I kinda preferred it. I especially love the scene on the plane when the girl is talking about her father and his face when he's listening to it.

Glad to hear you enjoyed them. I do think both films are underrated, and if Tom Cruise had been playing a similar character with any other name, Reacher (2012) would get a lot more props for being a solid grown-up film of the thriller/action genre. It’s quietly stylish and beautiful, with a focus on making the action clear to the audience, which means no shaky cam to hide poorly laid-out action sequences or excessive editing to add tension where none exists or to get your main character over a fence. From the opening sequence, through music and action, it lays out the tone and style of the film so succinctly while immediately immersing you in the story.

I understand why fans of the books were unhappy with Tom Cruise being cast, despite the blessing of the author, Lee Child. Every reader will have an image of a character in their heads, and it can be hard to see certain actors in certain roles. Unsurprisingly, the biggest complaint against Tom Cruise being cast was to do with his height, as he very much does not fit the description of "extremely tall, extremely broad, long-armed, and long-legged" with "hands the size of dinner plates." Now I've never read the books, and while I understand why fans were unhappy, I think Christopher McQuarrie utilizes Tom really well in the first movie and uses his physique as an advantage.

For the type of thriller that the first film is, it leans more toward noir than straight up crime action; a character over 6' would have storytelling pitfalls. What works in a book can translate to the screen very differently. That doesn’t mean that a Reacher who is more faithful to the books in terms of height and build couldn’t work. The new Amazon Prime series has been very popular, but any man who is as big and as imposing as Reacher is described is going to stand out, and you would have to actively address the fact that he would be someone who is hard to take down in a fight. Instead, with the casting of Tom Cruise, the film shows how people underestimate him, such as the guys in the bar who think they can take him out with little hassle. 

Then there’s the fact that the character of Reacher is a drifter, someone who slips in and out of town, leaving no trace. Well, if a guy is 6 feet whatever and built, people are going to remember him, and it will make it a little harder for him to slip away unnoticed. But not a Reacher who is built like Tom, and Christopher McQuarrie shows this brilliantly with the escape on the bus at the end of the car chase. It actively plays into the character being a drifter; he just disappears into a crowd.

The second film, Never Go Back, is a more typical thriller/action film with a family road trip added in that I like because Reacher is being forced into a situation he usually avoids, having to work with others. Never Go Back is well balanced, with Turner and Reacher both being highly capable and highly motivated individuals. When Turner expresses to Reacher that she wants to get these guys more than him, we see that he took this on board during the interrogation scene because he leaves it to Turner. I wish his falling into an assistive role had continued with Turner fully solving the mystery that they're smuggling drugs, I feel she deserved to solve it. But at the end of the day it is a Jack Reacher movie.

I also like how both films handle the potential romantic dynamic. With Helen there is a hint that if he were to stay, he could very much have a life with her, but the film knows not to force it, and I like that there’s no kiss. Despite the chemistry between them, it really hasn’t been earned, and any kiss would have felt forced and more like the film doing it because of the type of movie it is rather than it coming from the characters. With Turner, we see how similar they are. Yes, at the start there was some mild flirting and intrigue about each other over the phone, but their connection is one where they’re better as friends, and that's okay. In the end, it's the potential of the father-daughter relationship with Sam that leaves a bigger impact on Reacher than the romantic one, which we also saw a little of in the first film with Sandy. His interactions with her, especially in the office scene, were more paternal, and he never really tried romantic charm to get information out of her.

Ultimately, I think both films have more merit than people give them credit for. Neither is perfect, and I don’t know if either one would be in my top ten Tom Cruise movies, but if you can look past the casting issue of Tom as Reacher because of the height thing, each of them is a rewarding watch.

on a serious note my kryptonite in games has always been some degree of connection between characters, because i have such a love/hate relationship with how it widens the world and interpersonal relationships but can also simultaneously seem to make everything seem relatively small. but with bg3 i kind of really like that balance there because like, anything is quite frankly possible with durge anyway - the only traits are like 1) spawn of bhaal 2) serial killer (?) 3) worked with the other dead three chosen within the last 2 years and 4) was knifed by another chosen of bhaal and tadpoled. you can make up anything and everything because the game is dnd and the rules are whatever, too. yeah you get context clues from other characters, like that ketheric fundamentally can't stand anyone, but the chosen(s) of bhaal more so, and he tolerated the durge bc at least they had a work ethic (LOL), and gortash like plans 500 steps ahead so made it his prime directive to touch base with the bhaalist leader and be like, hey man, wanna go break into some places with me? or wanna take over the world? raphael is also there. yknow.

also definitely the delivery of lines sold me too - not just gortash's VA, but the way orin kind of like looooaaattthhhheeesss how durge was seemingly wrapped up in other shit ( slash sarevok is even like. yeah you thought you were untouchable and didnt notice that orin was making her own move for the throne . idiot. stupidhead. worst chosen next 2 me). also all the other characters as well who have something to say, like kressa, helsik and naaber, never mind all of the moonrise tower and then the quests in act 3, but starting earlier with just partially revealed information.

i . okay yeah like i have seen some interesting sort of takes of durge / gortash and each to their own etc etc but i think that the durge has a lot more agency than ppl wanna give them credit for, and i think people also vastly underestimate that gortash also seemingly underestimated them as well - like just bc durge wrote some like note about forgive me father but i am being charmed by the chosen of bane (however u wanna interpret that ofc), they did still end it with oh well ! i'll probably feel a tiny smidgen of guilt when i backstab him but we're gonna end the world in ur name dad ! praise bhaal! honestly though ive barely actually posted anythign i have written for them teehee i checked. it was like 2 fics. 1 of them they were fucking. so i mean take that how you will ... but like i mean amma and gortash's "relationship" extends back longer than what the range of the game gives, at least in my mind and what ive like. got an idea of anyway for her pre-bg3 life / adventures were like. but as far as how they like interact it is barely above tolerable. towards the absolute sort of planning it is running a lot warmer, but theyre just. aware of each other. in some similar circles because of well. lower city activities etc. a general equal partnership with stepping on each others toes, seeing how far to push the other. amma probably does hold on some threatening level a bit more of a . position. just because like (okay hindsight compared to orin), it is literally her own person not having her run gortash through - and he knows that. with orin he makes her basically agree to a magical contract to not harm him, but amma's the only thing holding herself back from just like. killing him. and for the most part she probably would just be mildly inconvenienced and it would probably leave her bed running a bit cold but like. she would bounce back. it would just INCONVENIENCE the plan heavily because chosen of bane are few and far between.

and also she knows that gortash also primarily gives the targets that are convenient for him, and there definitely times when it was bordering on a bit too much pointing and doing - and in her mind not enough equal weight pulling definitely. very much a case of balancing the scales in terms of doing their part, especially with the like multiple heists they perform (at least 3 minimum), and not just being aware of the other especially prior to both being selected as the chosen of their respective god. but yeah. there is no real "love" between them, no love lost either. arguably amma doesnt really know what love is, or in her own roundabout way expresses it much in the way of loving something so much you have the urge to eat it. yeah, amma does have a slight attachment, one that kind of hits a higher speed immediately prior to being knifed and tadpoled, because that is when we get the heists and actual partnership and its not just the introduction of the steel watch and him clawing his way up the social ladder by encouraging favour by lords and ladies and their beds, and its not the bhaalists just kind of sitting by idle and waiting for something to kick them into gear because yeah people are dying but at the same time, its not striking the fear into people's hearts like it used to, just letting them fade into history, despite bhaal's return like 10yrs prior.

amma kind of hates that gortash actually gave her a way to bring them back into the fray, and that she also does have to hold off from not ending him before the plan would have worked completely. a lot of that feeling is in the few times that she does like, strike out at him, either with planned wounds or if she has violently lashed out in general and even when they fuck, honestly. when amma does wrangle herself back into that position of control, especially in a position where gortash is incredibly vulnerable, its messes with her hatred so bad. she doesnt know if he is willingly submitting to her, because yeah she loves a bit of fighting back, hair pulling, scratching, getting told off, what can she say. definitely does something to her. but amma kind of loves when she's almost literally got him underfoot.

she wouldve followed the plan through to the end as well, so it is a mixed blessing for a lot of people that orin took an opportunity to strike at her.

ultimately its not so much that whole like 'i can fix him / i can make him worse' stuff either, because like amma did have a chance at a "normal" life, but she still returned to the temple of bhaal (whether or not by her own choice is ofc . debatable lmao). gortash was sold to a warlock, beaten in the house of hope routinely, escaped only to wind up in street gangs, eventually made his way to being an arms dealer, worked up the social ladder with equal parts sex and money and blackmail, sold possibly his friend into slavery for technology (we just really dont know the full extent of what zariel promised yknow), was the one who reached out to the bhaalist leader and concocted the idea to raid a vault or two, both in faerun and the hells. like, they were choices that were made, to keep them both firmly though on the side of like... theyre not realistically good people, their childhoods definitely shaped them, but they didnt try to change then and there. they just stay the same, and there is no getting better or worse. there just is.

IM OBSESSED WITH YOUR SHAPESHIFTER STORY!! Genuinely so good.. I'm so so curious to see what the ending will be like!! Little hints throughout the story, like Jen instantly asking "What did he do?" after Anne reaches out makes me think Will wasnt always cracked up to be what everybody thought he was, but the daughters comparing their relationship to Gomez and Morticia makes me think the other way round. I love the supernatural elements too, ghosts in an eery haunting sense but not too unrealistic. really parallels creepy ass shit you hear about/see irl that just never rlly gets explained. i also rlly adore Anne's support circle, like fr never underestimate womens bonds. you dont get that a lot in horror/sci-fi, usually it's the lone final girl up against the world. her having ppl look out for her is so heartwarming, like when Micheal sticks with her when he knows she shouldnt be alone with him?? the 'good' men in this story arent overbearing but also realize like. dudes can be fucking insane. and sometimes all it takes is just listening and keeping eyes open for the ppl you love. idk it's like midnight lol, im just a sucker for alllll this. ive gotta read more scifi by women forsure. its like 12 at night for me but i needed to spill this somewhere. Thank you so much, truly! Can't say how touched I am that people are liking it so much. :) And definitely read more sci-fi/horror/fantasy by women when you can! There are certain themes that just go differently. I remember reading the difference between men writing romantic relationships and women writing romantic relationships. Men write them as destructive: bringing down dynasties, starting wars, etc., but women write them as hope. Compare, for example, Rhaegar and Lyanna's relationship in ASOIAF essentially bringing about the fall of the seven kingdoms with Jamie and Claire's relationship in Outlander where they overcome horrific violence through their devotion to each other. And I think the same is true of friendships. I think men tend to write them as, you can't really trust anyone, whereas women tend to write them as one of the things that makes life easier--and someone you'd kill for; think Earl Had To Die, No Body No Crime, etc.. one of my favourite things about women's writing is all the little relationships with the female side characters. You just don't get a lot of that in men's writing unless it's a plot device (setting up for a betrayal, etc.).

look i’ll talk abt this one more time n then i Beg we can put it to rest! (this is gna be a lot of word vomit but if i'm elaborative now i hope i won't have to talk abt this ever again)

i’m deeply insecure abt many aspects of collision. i don’t really keep that a secret. i also know some ppl don't like fantasy, some ppl don't like the kinds of dynamics i like, some ppl don't vibe with my style of writing (hell, i barely vibe with my style of writing). those things are fine. i can't control that and i don't take that personally. the reason why this is the one critique i do take personally is because it genuinely presumes wrongful, harmful things about me and my values, especially when i've made deliberate efforts to avoid writing the exact flavor of fic they're accusing me of having written. just because people don’t mean for what they say to reflect back on me, doesn’t stop it from doing so.

the thing about calling something a “het fic” is that the term brings along certain connotations which i don’t stand by at all and feel deeply uncomfortable and distraught to possibly have created. i’ve gone over this godforsaken story again and again just to be absolutely sure i didn’t actually do so. when people say “het fic” they generally don’t mean “boy meets girl and they fall in love”, they mean “super rude and mean boy meets uptight virtuous girl and makes her fall in dependence with him through manipulation and treating her like shit until she behaves how he wants.” and that is straight up not the fic i wrote. i’m not stupid. i know the dynamic i went with is widely and easily misused and there’s a lot of fiction depicting really bad, uneven, unhealthy relationships through it. i knew this going in, and i’ve tried persistently to avoid making those same mistakes. 

skipping over the fact that they’re both boys (bc duh)--harry doesn't exhibit any real manipulative power over louis. collision harry is a grumpy, fruity little nerd who happened upon a really unfortunate lot in life and managed to trick himself into believing he's evil for like half a second of the story and his resolves crumble like a danish pastry the moment he receives his first hug. he's kind of aloof and arrogant, and understandably hardened from his past, but he's not bad. he's just lost. that's the basis of his character arc. now on the other hand, louis has harry wrapped around his finger starting like chapter 4. harry’s the one who opens up emotionally first, harry’s the one desperately seeking louis’ approval and caring about his opinion, harry’s the one who makes himself vulnerable continuously throughout the entire story. the only time louis makes himself vulnerable on a comparable scale is during the smut scenes, and even then, harry is gentle and attentive and puts louis first. louis is less experienced than harry in that area, but he isn't scared or intimidated by harry, and he has full reigns of the progression and nature of their relationship as a whole. that’s kind of how it needs to go with tough x soft dynamics for the power balance to not feel uneven, and i wrote the story accordingly. if you then happen to still be so blindly determined to associate soft/small with weakness (and thereby uh, womanhood ig) that you still felt like louis had an inferior position to harry solely because he is indeed soft/small, that sounds quite frankly like a you problem.

now, the whole point of louis’ character is that he’s underestimated. sure, he’s naive and self-centered and sheltered from the real world--that’s the basis of his character arc. those things all change. but louis isn’t ever weak. like idk who apparently needs to hear this but you can be small and simultaneously not be a pushover. the two aren’t mutually exclusive. there isn’t a single time louis takes shit in this story, especially not from harry; he gives back as good as he gets every time. oh! and then he literally saves the entire universe and the execution of that whole thing was his idea alone. i tried really hard to underline how strong-willed and full of grit he is to contrast what others think of him. if you think he’s portrayed as a meek and frail damsel, you missed the point. once again, i feel like we circle back to this misconception of louis being kind of naive and physically small = louis being inferior = louis being female. just do some soul searching.

(i could also get into the fact that for a bunch of people who don’t know these boys personally (no matter how much we like to think we do), this fandom is weirdly opinionated about characterization. especially regarding sexual stuff. i know creating a version for ourselves of who we think these boys are based on things we recognize in ourselves or things we find endearing is part of the comfort with loving them. but that doesn’t really equate to actually knowing them, and besides, this is fan fiction; no one’s opting to write a biography, anyway. being experimental and explorative and putting different aspects of their personalities in different lightings is what makes fic fun. if someone’s writing harmful or one-dimensional characters, that’s one thing, and preferences is again whatever floats your boat. but the “out of character” argument feels mostly really strange to me. this is a bit of a tangent, though.)

lastly, the thing is that i will and i do take it personally if someone insinuates that a character--a gay character--that i, a lesbian, construed is a secret vessel for expressing heterosexual attraction. if someone calls louis a “self-insert”, that does reflect back on me. and to elaborate on that--i don’t particularly love to bring it up, but it's quite disheartening to pour personal PTSD experiences into a character and rly put effort into doing it right and justice and underline growth and healing, just to find out people disregard all that completely in favor of declaring that my self-projection lies in the attraction to a man--which is to say, the one thing i couldn’t possibly feel more estranged from. it's so incredibly tactless. i feel thoroughly whiny at this point but how is that not supposed to make me a little sad?

anyway. none of this is to say that you can’t dislike or critique collision. you can. sometimes ppl don’t like things. but i hope i’m clear about where i’m coming from with my discomfort now. people’s preferences and dislikes are indeed not mine to be hurt by, but these things are. this definitely got unnecessarily long and i probably look like i take myself unbearably seriously (i promise i don’t), so i’m sorry. but at least i've said everything now, and if i encounter this sort of rhetoric in the future, i have something to redirect people to. also anon, none of this is directly pointed at you, i know you mean well. take care <3

Still thinking about my quirkless YouTuber bkdk au... In this au they still all went to the same high school and became friends but without all the near death experiences and it's set a few years after they finished school so I thought up some ideas of what kind of YouTubers they'd be:

Izuku - Goes by Deku on his channel. Started off doing a few small videos in middle school, product reviews and short vlogs etc, he got into gaming in high school as his channel started growing. His subscribers are really loyal and love how upbeat and snarky he can be in his videos and he likes to post loads content of he and his friends doing stupid shit as well. He mainly plays long series of RPG games where he can get really into the lore of them as well as online multiplayer games with his friends and he'll also livestream a lot of the time to answer questions and just chat to his watchers! He tends to avoid horror games, he can usually only manage a little bit at a time, or gets Bakugou to play them with him which his subscribers love. As far as equipment goes he started off very basic and gradually afforded better computers/cameras thanks to his subscribers who he loves very dearly.

Bakugou - He works with his father in fashion design and as a personal trainer on the side. He and Izuku started living together not that long after high school and have been dating for just over a year though they were pretty much inseparable for most of their school years. He doesn't have his own channel but he features a lot in Izuku's videos and livestreams whether he's willing to or not. He prefers the more action orientated first person games but he'll join in on whatever multiplayer game they're all playing when he has the time. Even though he doesn't have much experience with gaming in general he's infuriatingly good at puzzle games to the point where Izuku will make him solve the difficult parts for him. Though he doesn't have his own channel, Izuku's subscribers love seeing him in Izuku's videos, especially the multiplayer games where he loses his shit a lot with everyone else and he's also the one who deals with any hate comments Izuku may get on his channel.

This got way longer than I intended so the others are below the line!

Todoroki - He was initially resigned to becoming the next CEO of his dad’s company which he had been groomed for pretty much his entire life until he met Izuku and the others in high school. After that he started trying to make his own name and ended up joining Izuku by playing games and managed to grow his channel really quickly with Izuku’s help. This boy always has the most up-to-date tech and somehow manages to get every big name game on beta or pre-release which gets him a lot of attention. He’ll play any kind of games but his favourite are relaxing immersive games like Abzu, they don’t get as much attention though so he doesn’t film that many of them, and though he mostly does silent commentary he has so many fan-made compilations of him saying the most hilarious stuff unintentionally with a dead-pan expression that it’s mainly what he’s known for now. He joins in with multiplayer games and likes to rile up Bakugou by targeting him on any that involve killing each other. He doesn’t interact with his subscribers as much as the others but he makes sure to tell them how much he appreciates them and hosts a lot of giveaways which make him pretty popular. Has the annoying ability to play horror games without being spooked.

Uraraka - This girl played one game with Izuku in high school when she went over to his and then was hooked. She’s still studying in University to get into a career in astronomy and help her parents so she doesn’t have as much time to manage a channel as the others but like Izuku, she has a lot of very loyal subscribers because of her personality. Todoroki was actually the one who helped her get a proper gaming computer (by giving it to her and saying the store had been told not to accept returns) and her subscribers also help her get access to big games which she gets very flustered and so grateful for. She likes quite violent games and often gets underestimated online when she tries to play co-op shooter games etc, but she enjoys proving them wrong. She’s quite well known for trying out independent indie games and rating them but she enjoys being online with her friends the most and plays a lot of co-op games. She’ll also post videos of all of them hanging out, she loves making highlight reels when they do something big together! She’ll interact with lots of people online as well and does Q&A’s with her family when she can which they always get embarrassed about because she likes to hype them up.

Kirishima - Like Izuku, he was already making videos in middle school. His channel is mainly vlogs/stupid prank videos (ft Kaminari) and he likes to share his workout routines as well! His channel also features a lot of Bakugou when he manages to convince him to do videos with him about exercise tips etc. He works full time as a personal trainer and motivator and he’s actually taken a few courses in basic counselling/therapy so he can do his job and help people to the best of his ability. He’s not into gaming as much as they others so will usually only join for their multiplayer sessions but he’s also tried a few popular games when his subscribers asked him to. Out of all of them, he probably pays the most attention to his subscribers- he gives out advice and chats to them on livestreams often so they’re all very loyal watchers. Kaminari, Mina, and Sero get featured on his channel a lot because they still hang out so often and some of his most popular videos are series of pranks they all play on each other that Bakugou is usually dragged into.

Momo - She is the queen of product reviews and recommendations. Seriously, she will buy something to try even if she’s not remotely interested in it because some of her subscribers asked her to and then do a giveaway competition for it. She is always being sponsored by big companies which she’ll quite happily advertise but never in a way that feels pushy which is why she’s so popular as a content creator. She manages to keep to a pretty regular upload schedule and posts a whole range of things from book recommendations to videos featuring big name celebrities which get her a lot of attention. When she first started her channel, it was just a way to document her learning progress during school and she was very nervous, but now she’s a pretty big name and is a lot more confident with public speaking etc. She’s not interested in games but she’ll occasionally feature in the others videos and loves to hype up her friends’ channels in her own videos.

Iida - He made himself a channel with the others in high school but barely ever uses it. He’ll usually post rants about the randomest topics and most of his subscribers can’t tell if he’s joking or not. While he will join the others in their multiplayer games he doesn’t know a thing about gaming and tries to apply real life logic to their situations which never works but is very funny to watch.

Kaminari - “Watch me try and fit a whole apple in my mouth!” That’s it, that’s his channel. Usually followed by “Had to go to the emergency room :/” His subscribers love him and he takes running his channel very seriously, referring to all of them as his fans and always tries to keep them up to date on everything via livestreams and tweets. He spends a lot of time making videos that feature everyone else because he loves keeping all their channels connected to each other even if they’re not in high school anymore. He couldn’t get Jirou to make her own channel to feature her music on so he’ll post a lot of their jamming sessions (he, Jirou, Bakugou, Tokoyami, and Momo will still meet up to play  songs together even though Jirou is a solo performer now) so he likes to show off all his friends talents as much as he can. In terms of gaming, he, Kirishima, Mina, and Sero are very much their own gaming team and play so many online team games together though they very enthusiastically join in with the others as well!

These are all just things I thought up pretty quickly so I might add to it later but I’d love to hear other ppl’s ideas about it !!

another big thing that defined her life is that she was a SELECTIVE MUTE which developed when she started kindergarten ( which was also the school yr after her grandma left ) and she finally overcame thru therapy around the time she was in fifth grade.

it was through an assignment from her therapist that she and daisey first “spoke” bc in second grade she was still terrible at speaking to other kids n her therapist suggested she tried to write a letter instead as a sort of first step to ease into  things! she didn’t expect for daisey to write back but she did!! and they became “friends” for a while but that ended after fifth grade

•    ngl, jade pretty much hated her home life. her parents were an overbearing presence in her life, her mother wanting jade to be a proper lady who also went into a profession like theirs (entirely serious and stifling when it came to creativity, doctor, politician, lawyer etc.) while jade herself wanted to check out the latest trends and go to the mall w her friends – so she turned all of her focus and energy into getting good grades in everything she wanted to do in the hopes that she could be the most successful fashion designer, then leaving town forever. 

•    like she spent 7 yrs in high school graduating w honours but she barely knew what was happening in 9/10 of her classes and sometimes she just slept through classes and then wing her exams which she miraculously did well at. it was just not a good idea to send jade to a public school at 11 after being in boarding school for the rest of her life and then never really enforce any rules :~\ she has trouble with that kind of thing.. as in making logical choices instead of saying "YEAH lets go watch american psycho and smoke weed!" skipping chemistry to do just that 

•    she loves fun and values doing what makes her happy over most things. it's hard to pin her down and she spends most of her life chasing after ideas that don't really follow any sort of conscious order, bc she’s really got that ‘i’ve got dreams and i’m gonna do everything in my power to achieve them’ personality. 

•    according to bratz canon she’s worked as literally everything ? she’s one of those insufferable people who r just. good everything ig and that’s just how it is on this bitch of an earth. jade’s been a photographer, a song - writer and bass player in a rock band (shout out to bratz rock angelz the best movie w the best soundtrack ever), a student studying fashion design, a fashion columnist, a quickly fired nanny, and many other things in between.

Now ofc she doesn’t have superhuman strength or maybe the strength of a bodybuilder perhaps but she is strong enough to (a) put someone in a bearhug and break a bone, (b) lift people and things that are bigger than her such as Al who is a foot taller than her and also a rather athletic man, (c) body slam/suplex an unwitting opponent who thinks those big fluffy arms are useless. Funnily enough, she has this trait in common with her Nana Garland who was of a similar body shape and strength level

Slightly above average combatant - A combo of natural talent, getting into a lot of fights and picking up tricks, and taking classes under false identities; Car has a pretty good shot a knocking someone out. She favors hand to hand combat for that reason, along with her brawler like fighting style that is extremely aggressive and quite overwhelming. She tends to favor punch outs in which that strength comes in handy (along with the misconception that her size makes her less agile or reactive when all it really does is add more force to the blow), grappling, using her elbow and knees for really damaging blows. Surprisingly she has a pretty good high kick and is okay at dodging hits from not so trained fighters. However if it’s her versus an extremely well trained fighter, she’s probably just gonna go down fighting...unless....

Good at improvising & fighting dirty - Do not make the foolish mistake of even thinking she’s above hair-pulling or scratching out ya eyeballs. Nut shots, biting, hell maybe even a human shield if she’s up for it! Car is also a pretty clever girl and can occasionally fight with a clear head, being able to scan the environment to help her out. Tables, box cutters, or even a handkerchief are quite dangerous in her hands. She’s a fast thinker on a good day and will use whatever is in her grasp to win.

Marksmanship - The kid idolized Annie Oakley and it’s definitely paid off. Car has been practicing with guns since childhood and has no problem with moving targets. While she favors revolvers and shotguns, she’s noticeably a better shot than most police officers and henchmen regardless of the firearm. Tends to incorporate this into her hand to hand fights for a quick kill or to injure an opponent if she’s feeling really mean. And yes while it’s super improbable she likes to dual wield bc she’s a fucking child.

A People Person - While she may not be a genius prodigy or Olympic level athlete, Carmine’s real intelligence is her street smarts and affinity for just making people uncomfortable. This knowledge is shown best during her serial killer days when she literally banked on the fact that no one expects a killer to be a woman and previous experiences with the police has informed her just how incompetent they are. Car can learn a lot about a person in a short span of time and uses her scatter brained, childish persona to hide this skill. Therefore she can get a general grasp of their likes and dislikes and use that to either intimidate or befriend. In a combat situation this comes in handy in areas that allow her to put space between them and give her time to talk. Not only that but her infamy in West Coast makes her seem more like a boogeyman that human so she’s 100% down to play into that fantasy during fights. Those who don’t know her simply see this kooky childish girl and make the poor mistake of thinking she can’t hold her own.

Is a smol - She’s only 5′3 so bigger opponents are a way bigger threat

Impulsive and Emotional - Made her cry? Good, you have a higher chance of winning bc she’s more likely to make dumber decisions (reckless swinging, shot the wrong target, etc.) but there’s also a chance she even more likely to kill because of that good old fashioned all consuming b.orderline rage that makes her see red. Also, it’s pretty hard to truly get under her skin.

Lack of self-awareness - Car tends to forget that she isn’t immortal and will gamble her life for stupid things w/o realizing it. She tends to take on more difficult opponents for this exact reason and rather fight for thrills than a logical reason at all. Has no problem fighting in buildings on fire or continue a fight despite winning or losing.

ok! so! ryland elias and kylee elizabeth. aka the carlton twins. i first made kylee in about 2014, and ryland came into an existence about a year later, so they r my actual gd kids (fun fact, when i First made ryland, he was kylees twin sister named catherine ryland. honestly? ryland the way he is now has only been in existence for nearly a month). born and raised in southern colorado, theyre the youngest siblings of the carlton family, ryland being just a few minutes younger than kylee. they have two older siblings, the oldest being their brother, lucas, and the second oldest being their sister, jennifer. the twins both have mad daddy issues cause their dad? is shit. but between the two, ry’s got Far more issues, mostly stemming from their father constantly comparing him to kylee. growing up, kylee was always the more popular one that, like, Everybody liked and, when they were kids, they looked almost exactly the same, which resulted in ppl mixing them up a LOT and being super disappointed when they realize theyre talking to ry (more often than he’d like to admit, someone would come up to him and start talking to him, and hed get super excited until he turned his head just enough for the person to see his birthmark. when they’d walk away from him, like, right away, the disappointment? crushing)

y/n remembers all that scattered intensity finally drawing into a focal point as shouta lets her grind on his thigh (he cannot touch her he just fucking can’t - and he’s right not to. he is not aroused in the slightest lmfao christ) before everything just. fades to black in her mind. she was not lucid enough to register the sleeping pill at the time (only swallowing smth), but come morning she can piece it together.she’s exhausted. and she’s slept – aizawa, sitting in a chair and at a desk to support him with what smells like bitter coffee, looks like shit. y/n cries for him, because they know how personally he takes things, how he worries, how it takes him a while to stop blaming himself for shit happening to ppl he loves. she’s sorry for burdening him - even if he prefers it, she’s just sorry to put him on the spot like that anyway. she cries for the scare– she cries for what could have happened.

shouta’s already called all the friends that went clubbing with his s/o and notified local police - both bc wtf this drug?? in civilian hands?? and obv to make sure they got home safe, and if they didn’t he’d call a hero to go find them. he’ll be questioning the friend who brought the drugs, find out whether this was a matter of accident or of someone dropping bad drugs in innocent hands.
