summarising some of my fics cos i miss writing

fanfic friday?

sometimes i feel i've got to (run away) - takin' over the asylum. slightly older so writing is a bit dodgy at times. this one follows a pre-hospitalisation campbell bain, in the lead up to his admission, and particularly focuses on his struggles in school and with his parents. he desperately needs to feel seen; for somebody to admit that something is wrong with him and that he isn't making it all up. he acts out by running away and drinking. the never-ending sky drunken fight is inspired by this fic!!!

don't be daft - broadchurch. alec hardy mistakes a panic attack for a heart attack. in the confusion, he overdoses on tablets he no longer needs, and is found on the floor by an aimless ellie miller. takes place after his pacemaker surgery.

an irish airman - takin' over the asylum. inspired by yeats, 'an irish airman foresees his death'. campbell reflects on fergus' death and recalls his final moments. experimental prose. suicidal themes and implied suicidal thoughts throughout.

wait for me - broadchurch. a slightly weird fic where alec hardy has reoccurring nightmares in which he is a child in broadchurch being murdered. represents his guilt over both sandbrook and broadchurch; he compares himself to both a dead child and a murderer at the same time. contains graphic descriptions of violence and slightly gorey scenes, including a dream-character burning alive. B-plot follows the time alec went home to try and fix things with tess

twenty-five decembers - MY FAVOURITE!! broadchurch. follows 25 consecutive decembers in alec hardys life, 25 years, starting in 1990 and ending in 2015. basically extreme alec hardy backstory with a vaguely christmas vibe but it's not festive or integral, just helps aid the flow of the story. deals with themes of child abuse, parent death, divorce, etc. also major tess sympathy be warned

when the sirens sound - broadchurch. unfinished but im getting there I promise. fic in which daisy dies in a sudden car accident. alec is the only survivor, with 3 dead teenagers, and suffers from severe survivors guilt and ptsd. follows both the immediate fallout, the lead up and the aftermath of the accident. mainly about grief, slightly graphic. also themes of suicide and self-harm

Ok, so Mikey meeting Miles' parents and them loving him because he is polite and speaks Spanish, cooks well and is very sweet is fine and well.

But consider:

Mikey has a fucking Doctor persona called Doctor Rude (we see him in one of the storyboards for the scrapped episodes and I truly love and cherish him and cry because the episode got scrapped).

So like, my boy can be veryyyyyyyy rude.

He doesn't insult them or anything but he defenitly says straight to Miles' dad that he does not like cops and that his family is currently wanted.

Rio and Jeff are just like: Miles why are you dating a criminal. Why is his dad a war criminal and why did two of his brothers join gangs on accident. How is that even possible. Why do they have beef with a powerful crime boss. Why do they not exist by the law's standards. Are they illegal immigrants.

Miles doesn't know. Miles too is surprised by the criminal record of Mikey's family.

I mean, the Rise Turtles have veryyy shaky morals. It is canon that Donnie hacks ATMs to get money and like, in my heart he hacks the bank accounts of billionaires.

Imagine how cool that Mikey casually teaches Miles the seven deasly vipers move and in the chase scene all the spider people are scared at this 15 year old teenager LMAOO.

Okay so I have a certain headcanon for shellshocked and if I dont get it out it will destroy my brain so I'm going to do that now. I recently saw this video on tiktok by x.bluell, and it was a shellcrime video. And in that video Mikey was saying I love you to prowler miles over and over again, kind of like an angsty thing. AND this got me thinking, well not rlly I've BEEN thinking this but this is a time where I thought about it more.

What if, 42 Miles lost his Mikey? Like what if 42 Mikey died for some reason, it could be a heist gone wrong, killed by the sinister six cartel, maybe Krang, BUT EITHER WAY he would loose him. Adding onto his angst era, lost both his dad and his boyfriend what could be better? And when other Mile's Mikey comes to rescue Miles, 42 Miles sees Mikey and gets shellshocked (haha) and maybe also tries to fight for Mikey to stay in the 42 dimension. Very angsty and stuff so thats why I love that idea, now I'm going to work on the shellshocked fic before my brain starts yelling at me again.

So, I've had these ideas about shellshocked that's been in my head for over a month now and it's not like I'm gonna do anything with it:

— One is where Mikey and Miles are roommates. Mikey wears a cloaking brooch when meeting Miles and starting to live with him, but eventually tells him that he's a mutant with Miles doing same by letting him in on his spiderman business.

Honestly it would be funny if the reason they found out about the other was because Miles was coming back from being Spider-Man and Mikey dropped his human form to practice his mystic powers and thought the other wasn't gonna be home until later.

— The other one is set in the bad future timeline. So, it's not really gonna have a happy ending. Okay then, well Mikey and Miles met each other a few years into the resistance against the Krang and mutual feelings developed a couple years after that with them both being aware how the other feels, but they never officially consider themselves a couple.

Why? Because they are in the middle of an invasion and came to terms a long time ago that they probably won't live to see the outcome. Also, they already lost enough people at that point and wouldn't be able to handle any more pain if they were to actually get together just to immediately lose them afterwards because life wasn't fair.

But this still doesn't affect their closeness or how well they work together because their relationship is ultimately built on trust and loyalty and they do have that spark of hope that things will turn out well for them... but you know how the film goes for everyone involved. But hey, maybe their younger selves will get an opportunity that they didn't.
