The spotify wrapped prompt is such a fun idea!! My fav song on my playlist is #9, so that's the one I'll choose for you!
sorry for the delay--have a lil shiratorizawa/ushijima drabble :D
the strongest team in all the world
summary: shiratorizawa loses. there's no other way to put it. shiratorizawa loses. prompt: spotify wrapped #9, heartbreak feels so good by fall out boy pairings: wakatoshi ushijima & shiratorizawa volleyball club words: 955 warnings: none
When you are eighteen, everything that hurts is its own little death. Every pain is like losing your own life, losing your heart, again and again and again. When you are eighteen, the world ends every time you close your eyes to let go of the tears.
So Ushijima and Shiratorizawa lose to Karasuno, and he lies back on the court to stretch and, for just a moment, he closes his eyes. And the world ends.
But: “Don’t you go slacking on me,” Tendou says.
And then the world begins again. He opens his eyes.
I won’t, Ushijima thinks. He’s not sure if he says it out loud. It’s all still so surreal. They’re on the court floor, stretching, cooling down, and they’ve lost. It’s all over.
He had trained for this game knowing—believing, being so sure—that they would win. They had all trained for this believing that. Maybe that had been their downfall: not considering anyone else in Miyagi a great enough threat to keep them from Nationals.
Pride. Worthless fucking pride.
A blink, and they’re done with stretches. A blink, and they’re getting on the bus. It was a good enough game to get on the bus. Not good enough to win. But enough to drive home rather than run there.
Ushijima and Tendou always sit together on the bus. The ride back from this game is no different. The difference comes with the silence.
Usually, Tendou keeps up a steady chatter while they ride back. Goshiki rambles on about his favorite plays during the match and only a few of the benchwarmers listen, mostly other first years. Shirabu sleeps, and he always snores. Semi’s music, though he has headphones in, always bleeds out into the rest of the bus. Reon and Yamagata talk in low tones about things they could have done better.
There are always layers upon layers of sound. There’s always something.
This bus ride is silent. No one talks.
Tendou always sits at the window. He likes to count the green cars that pass by. Ushijima knows this, because last time that they beat Aoba Johsai, there were seven of them and that had been a record. Ushijima knows this, because he knows Tendou and his intricacies. Ushijima knows this, because he loves Tendou and his intricacies.
Today, Tendou stares at his hands. He doesn’t point it out when a green Honda passes by. Ushijima nudges his shoulder, pointing. Tendou nods. Gives him a tight smile.
A blink. The world ends.
Then they’re back at Shiratorizawa, and the world begins again. It’s getting dark. The sun is red and hollow in the sky and the clouds hang like heavy pauses in a conversation about defeat and pride and strength. The earth is turning still. They lost, and the earth is turning still.
“Six in the morning tomorrow,” Coach Washijo says. “Third years’ presence is optional. But if you don’t come tomorrow, don’t bother coming again.”
He turns around. Walks to the athletic offices. They all watch him go. They just stand in their little semicircle and watch as he walks away from them. He doesn’t look back once.
There’s no sense of urgency to it. Instead, there’s a sense of emptiness. Of vast blank space in their lives. In their futures. All of the time that they had set aside for volleyball, for Nationals: just empty space.
So they all stand there, in the setting sun, watching their coach turn away from them—the losing team—and walk away. He doesn’t even dismiss them as he usually does. He doesn’t say goodbye to the third years who may not show up again. He just leaves. Step by step by step, until he disappears behind a door.
Ushijima could say something, now. But all his words have already been used. Besides, they all know that he’ll be at practice at 5:45am tomorrow. Coach Washijo probably knows, too. He knows that they’ll all still show up. Maybe that’s why he doesn’t look back. Or maybe he just doesn’t want to face them.
After all, he, too, failed. He, too, lost this game. He, too, let go of something.
So: a blink, and Ushijima is starting the long walk back to the dorms. The team follows him. Eyes on his back and he keeps walking.
Ushijima turns around only once. He turns around to look at his team: his beautiful, wonderful, crying, strong, prideful, defeated team; with the sunset behind them, filling in all the empty spots in the great big sky; with all the weight of loss and all the weight of the future on their shoulders.
Yeah. His beautiful, strong, defeated team. He loves them, the Shiratorizawa that lost to Karasuno. Whether or not they have lost. They are still his team. They will always be his team.
And those who are left, those who come after him, those who continue, those first and second years, they will try again. And again. And again. They will fight again. They will honor what has come before and they will create something new. They will lose again. They will rise again.
Take this loss and make it something greater, Ushijima thinks.
When you are eighteen, every loss is the ending of the world. Then you blink, and time has passed. A new team arrives. A whistle is blown and a new game starts.
Ushijima takes a deep breath. Promises himself that he’ll come watch their games next year, just like surely some of them will come watch his. A tear falls over his cheek and over the curve of his lips and he doesn’t wipe it away. Just lets it fall. It’s only one tear. Only one apocalypse.
A blink. And the world begins again.

i think ushijima has a good singing voice, beautiful even, but his ability to match up with another person singing, or god forbid a karaoke track, is not great, to say the least. he's been dragged to karaoke on more than one occasion, by tendou, shiratorizawa vbc as a group, and by the adlers. every single time he gives a performance that leaves everyone baffled.
#local guy sings with the most beautiful bass voice you've ever heard also 3 beats off the entire time#ushijima wakatoshi#haikyuu#chit chat

Btw I did write a bunch of haikyuu stuff a while ago if anyone's interested:
Blackbirdverse:
AU set right after the spring tournament, the Karasuno team all drops out and move to a different school in Miyagi, Kurotori, that didn't have a club, and found their own VBC there. Takeda is a teacher at Kurotori, Yachi is a student there, and Ukai is also there.
Birds of a feather (flock together): The story of the Kurotori club and the winter tournament. Everybody is traumatized, codependent and mistrustful, it's a really big mess, and they're all doing their best.
Shiver at your touch: Set right after chapter 48 of Birds of a Feather ( "Shimmers in the Snow"): Iwaizumi picks up the phone as Tooru calls for help with self-inflicted injuries.
A Tale of Two Brothers: Osamu reminisces on the worst time of his life; Atsumu writes a difficult letter. They'll be alright, eventually.
The Odd, the Marvellous and the Hidden Mystical
Taking a 180° turn because whimsy is fun and I like reading wikipedia articles about fantasy creatures:
Two Kids in a Trenchcoat, Halloween Edition:
As the MBSY Black Jackals design an intensive team-building program, friends and teammates Hinata Shouyou, Bokuto Koutarou, Miya Atsumu and Sakusa Kiyoomi find themselves sharing a dorm. Although the apartment is nice enough, this doesn’t bode well for one of them, who hides a mysterious, fantastical secret.
Iwaizumi Hajime's pratical guide on how to deal with the fae: There are several rules, his grandma taught him as a child, one must respect in order to be safe from the trickery of the fae folk. Upon meeting his roommate in college, Hajime manages to break every single one of them.
Or: Five times Iwaizumi suspected Oikawa of being fey (and the one time he didn’t care)
Miscellaneous one-shots:
On the Art of Suiting the Action to the Word:
"Oh thank god. I thought I was gonna kill myself for a second there."
"... What."
Or, the Shiratorizawa team doesn't like how Tendou talks about death.
Mistlefoe:
From Drunkauntsuga on Instagram:
Kyoutani: "Here's a fun Christmas idea. We hang misteltoe, but instead of kissing, you have to FIGHT whoever else is under it."
Or: It's the Aoba Josai Christmas party, and Kyoutani wants to fight. Yahaba takes him on.
The Entire World hates your guts: Sometimes, it feels like the entire world really, really, hates Tooru. Or maybe it's the fact that he really, really hates himself.
In which Tooru learns that he can't mend the cracks in his smile with glitter glue (and that he doesn't have to.)
Speak your truth (the world will quiet to listen): Ushijima Wakatoshi is not good at people. That is a fact he has grown to accept, and with his socially intelligent boyfriend by his side, he has long since learned to navigate a world that was not made for him. But when Hinata Shouyou reaches out to him for help on a serious matter, it's up to the ace to read between the lines and uncover the boy's unspoken words.
Tonight, know you are loved: At first, he doesn’t see it. There is no man here on the bridge, but a creature is looking up at him from the pavement. It looks like smoke curled up in the shape of a fox, nine wispy tails twirling behind it.
" Ye here to take my soul or something ?"
Or : Atsumu reaches the edge of himself. Somehow, this is not the end.

Personality: Heather is very devoted to her team. She enjoys her work as a manager, making sure the boys are taking care of themselves and getting information of an opposing team. She takes her duties responsibly and enjoy being around others, however more often than not, Heather chooses a few close relationships to come to in her time of need. In fearing she'll be seen as weak.
She is strict, disciplined, and level-headed. These characteristics make her an effective manager, especially dealing with Tōru Oikawa, something the rest of the team is grateful for. However, Heather can also be somewhat rebellious, as she has been known to break the rules at time either for her or for her friends. Heather has an exceptionally sharp intellect and great independence, making her the go-to person whenever someone needs help, being tutoring or strategizing. Being extremely perceptive, Heather picks up on the smallest information that most people might miss.
Heather is surprisingly competitive. She loves a good challenge and feels insulted if they don't give it their all or they intentionally go easy on her. Though she never lets competition get in the way with her friendships, the best example is her close relationship with Teresa, who's a student of Shiratorizawa and manager of the boy's VBC.
Heather is gifted in computers, especially in gathering information and hacking. She loves to steal money from the bank accounts of millionaires and billionaires and gathering information from even government classified files and takes pride she was never caught. However, she's extremely thorough when she does this and ensures everything remains completely untraceable.
Heather is compassionate, as she usually sends most of the money to her grandparents, and younger siblings and keeps a few to herself. She's always worried something might happened and regularly calls them, despite her aunts' assurances. Another is when comforting her team when receive a loss or her friends.
However, she can be quite vindictive. This side usually comes out when she dealing with lazy classmates who think they can take advantage of her or toxic fangirls. When dealing with slacker classmates, she would make them think she did the work and give them credit but secretly gather evidence of their lack on contribution and present it to the teacher while smiling at them. With fangirls, she would gather all the evidence of bullying and present them to the principle, if they still persists she'll resort to blackmail.
Because of her time in St. Trinians, Heather developed great confidence in her body due to being surrounded on body positivity and encouragement to fight back.
Her relationship with Oikawa surprised many people, mostly they never thought she wouldn't see him beyond friendship and thinking his flirting is friendly, however they make it work. Due to his popularity she’s a bit possessive of him but she knows he would never hurt her, both out of love and knowing full well how her wrath is. Ever since they got together, she became witty and playful in response of his flirting, with hints of seduction.
Likes: Family and friends, Tōru, wining verbal arguments, archery, sharpshooting, shepherd’s pie, clothes that show her cleavage, sci-fi and fantasy, reading, movies, hardcore yaoi.
Dislikes: Tōru's fangirls especially the toxic and entitles ones, sizeists, classmates who make her do all the work, meaningless wins, liver and onions, idiots who are not friends or family, nerds and geeks getting a bad rep, harm to her friends and family, Tōru being bullied too much, her glasses getting fogged, water beds.
Hobbies: Archery, sharpshooting, watching movies, coding, hunting, listening to music, reading, roller skating, chess, doing detective and puzzle games, cooking, felt arts.
Goal(s): To marry Tōru and own a cyber security business.
Current concerns: How to get the first years to stop asking her to change their grades.

Chapter 7 - Storms and Movies
A few weeks passed, and you no longer had the feeling of being the new one. You've made a couple of acquaintances outside your class and deepened your friendship with the girls.
It was Friday afternoon, and you were looking forward to the weekend and the trip to the convenience store with Tendō.
The two of you had made it a tradition to get the Jump and hang out.
Tendō leaned over, wanting to tell you something, "(Y/N)-chan,"
You turned your head, noting that he was trying to get your attention, "what is it?"
"Are we still on for today?"
"Of course," you smiled at him.
He couldn't help but let his lips tug into a smile as he straightened himself in his seat.
The teacher was about to finish the lesson but had one more topic to mention.
"I guess you've heard about the storm warning, "the teacher started, "please limit your time outside and stay inside. "
‚This will be one looooooong weekend, "you thought.
About two hours later, you were on your way to your usual meeting spot. However, as you were about to exit the building, you noted that it had just started to rain. Since Tendō was nowhere to be seen, you decided to wait inside and text him and let him know.
"(Y/N)-chan, "Tendō waved at you excitedly, walking towards you with two others in tow.
One of them was Ushijima, who you've already met.
"Hi Tendō, "you greeted him.
"You know Wakatoshi already," he remembered, "this is Reon. He's another teammate."
"Hi, it's nice to meet you," you greeted Reon, smiling at him.
"Likewise," he returned the smile, "I've heard a lot about you!"
You looked at him with a questioning look, "you have?"
Tendō looked like a deer in headlights. Getting his composure back, he sent a warning look toward Reon.
"Of course, I had to tell them about my new friend," he exclaimed cheerfully.
You laughed at him, questioning the mood change he suddenly had.
"Are you guys coming as well?"
"No," Ushijima replied, "We're heading to our dorms."
"Ah, I see," you muttered.
Both of them said their goodbyes before they walked off, leaving you once again confused. You wondered if Ushijima disliked you by default.
"(Y/N)-chan, "Tendō started, pointing towards the window, "do you have an umbrella? "
"Yeah," you said, "you don't have one, do you?. "
"Heh," he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck, "no,"
"This one is super small," you started as you got the umbrella out, "but it should keep us dry."
You left the building, looking up at Tendō as you opened your umbrella, "would you mind holding it? My arm would fall off if I held it up that high."
"Of course," he replied, taking it out of your hand, "I'll hold it. You just make sure that you stay under it!"
It was smaller than you expected. Trying to avoid the rain, you hooked your arm into Tendō's. His cheeks were heating up, having a pinkish blush on his cheeks.
‚Is she really doing that right now,' he thought, looking away in an attempt to hide his more than noticeable blush.
"So, how was the training?"
'Come on, act normal,' he scolded himself.
"It was good but also exhausting," he breathed.
"Oh, are you cold?"
"No, why?"
"Your face is like really red," you pointed out.
"Ah, it must be from the wind," he laughed awkwardly.
"Ah," you smiled at him.
Once you reached the convenience store, you've got the usual stuff, getting some snacks and drinks beside the Jump Magazine.
"Ugh, what even is this weather," you sighed.
"I know," he replied, "we can't even go to the park this time!"
Tendō didn't want your evening to end already, as he wanted to spend more time with you. After all, he really enjoyed your company and noting how you grew closer made him excited for what might come.
You've already made it back to Shiratorizawa just in time before it started to pour down heavily.
"We made it back just in time," you sighed, looking through the window.
"Yeah, I wouldn't want to be out there right now," Tendō pondered for a while, "do you want to hang out in my dorm and read the Jump?"
"Sure," you replied, heading towards his room.
‚Can I let her into my room,' he thought, wondering if there was anything a girl shouldn't see, ‚I cleaned up, so it should be alright.'
He opened the door once you reached his dorm, peeking in before opening the door.
"Come on in," he let you in, following behind you.
You looked around his room, noting that he recently must've cleaned up. Tendō was watching you, wondering if something was wrong with his room. After all, it's the first time he has a girl in his dorm.
"You can sit down wherever you like," Tendō said, motioning around his room.
You looked towards his bean bag and smiled as you walked towards it, "I'll take this."
‚He seriously has a beanbag,' you thought to yourself, ‚I should get one too.'
You plopped down as Tendō watched you with a smile before plopping onto his bed. Soon enough, both of you were nose-deep in the Jump Magazine. Only speaking when you reach an exciting chapter.
"(Y/N)-chan," he started once he was done with the Jump, "there's something I wanted to ask you."
"What is it," you replied, looking up and meeting his gaze.
"We have a match in two weeks. Will you come and watch it?"
"Oh yeah, I've heard already," you remembered, "sure, I'll be there! "
The red-head was smiling from ear to ear, "great!"
Finally, he had someone to watch him, not the team, not the unbeatable Ushijima - simply just him.
Well, even if you're probably going because the other girls have told you, Tendō still thought you were going because of him.
You were chit-chatting for quite a while as it was getting darker outside. The red-head turned one of his lights on, letting it illuminate the room. The two of you were surrounded by a cozy atmosphere, sitting in the dimly lit room.
It was raining heavily, and the sound of raindrops hitting the window was getting louder.
Tendō noticed the pout on your face, watching you as you seemed deep in your thoughts.
'She's so pretty,' he thought.
There was just something that made it surreal to him. Still unable to process that you were his friend. However, he didn't quite realize what the tingling sensation in his stomach meant.
"What are you thinking about, (Y/N)-chan,"
"Ah," you sighed, "it's nothing-"
"I'm just a bit down because I wanted to go to the city with the other girls,"
"Tomorrow?"
"Yeah, but I guess we won't go due to the weather,"
You sighed, wondering how you should spend your weekend when you're locked in your dorm.
"You can join me and the rest of the volleyball club," he started, "we're having a movie night tomorrow."
"Where?"
"Tomorrow's at my room," he said, noting your questioning look, "don't worry, there's enough room for all of us!"
"Are you sure?"
"Of course, you can bring the other girls along if you want to,"
"Don't you think the other guys would be bothered?"
‚I wouldn't want to upset that Ushijima guy, 'you cringed at the thought of his iron gaze.
"Why would they," he replied, thinking that your presence would be a blessing for every man.
"Alright, I'll ask the others!"
"That would be so much fun! "
Both of you were fidgeting excitedly, acting like little kids.
"Wait," your expression got more serious, "do we have enough snacks for a movie night?"
"I think so," he replied, "we could get some snacks at the little shop in the cafeteria or the vending machine."
"Oh yeah, you're right,"
You texted the other girls, having a group chat already. Meanwhile, Tendō texted the VBC's group chat, asking if everyone would be okay if you and your friends would join.
Akane and Mayu agreed, while Yuki had to decline since she had plans with Akio.
"Alright, Mayu and Akane are coming too, if that's okay," you said.
"Sure, everyone's fine with it," he said, having received positive feedback from his teammates.
You were hanging out for a bit longer before you decided to head to your own dorm.
The next day you were productive, starting your day with your homework and deep cleaning your dorm. Sure, it was annoying that you couldn't go outside, but at least you could work off your to-do list.
In the afternoon, you called Hanami, exchanging news with her and catching up. Both of you agreed to meet soon since you haven't seen each other for over a month.
"Eeh," you cringed once you looked into the mirror, getting scared by your reflection.
"I need to take a shower," you looked like a hot mess since you were cleaning and doing some laundry for the whole day.
Hence you decided to go and take a shower before you got ready for the evening. Shortly before you wanted to meet up with everyone, Akane and Mayu knocked on your door.
"It's open," you chirped.
"Hi (Y/N)," they said in unison.
"Hey guys," you smiled at them cheerfully.
"Are you ready to go?"
"Yes," you nodded before you got up, leaving with the others in tow as you headed towards Tendō's dorm.
"Say (Y/N)," Akane started, getting your attention, "is there something going on between the two of you?"
"Between who?"
Akane and Mayu exchanged a look before Mayu smirked at you, "between you and Tendō."
"What," you looked at her, eyes widening in surprise, "do you guys think something is going on?"
"Well," Akane sighed, "you two are spending a lot of time together."
"Yeah, and you guys seem super close," Mayu added.
You cocked your head to the side, softly chuckling, "we are just friends, you guys!"
"He's such a great guy, and I enjoy spending time with him," you smiled, "as a friend. "
Since you've started to befriend Tendō, the other girls have begun to act differently toward him. Before, they had never really acknowledged his existence - at least not when they didn't have to.
They have mainly acted like this because of how others treated him. But you made a difference, including him whenever you could, thus leading Yuki, Mayu, and Akane to be friendly with him.
You would tell us if something is going on, right?"
You look at Akane, "of course!"
"You know," you started, "you should ask these questions Yuki."
"I know, right," Mayu exclaimed, "she's not telling us a damned thing about Akio."
"Let's ask her next time," Akane suggested.
"I'm in," you laughed.
"Me too," Mayu said eagerly.
„(Y/N),“
You turned around, noting that Ushijima was standing behind you, "Hi Ushijima."
The others greeted him as well, earning an almost non-existing smile.
"I hope you don't mind that we are joining you tonight," you chuckled awkwardly, still unsure how to act around the stoic Ushijima.
"Of course not," he replied, having a much softer expression.
You were walking down the hall with the others and Ushijima, stopping in front of the red-heads dorm.
"Ah (Y/N)-chan, you're here," he exclaimed happily.
"Hi Wakatoshi," he greeted his teammate, "and welcome Mayu and Akane!"
"Hi guys," Reon greeted all of you.
"(Y/N)-chan, this is Semi Semi," Tendō said, "I guess you haven't met yet?"
"How many times have I told you not to call me Semi Semi," he interrupted the red-head.
"Hi (Y/N)," Semi smiled at you, "I'm Semi."
"Hi, Semi. It's nice to meet you!"
"Then we have our youngest," Tendō said in a funny voice, "this is Goshiki."
Tendō placed his hands on the latter's shoulders before he pushed him towards you and the others.
"I guess none of you have met him before," he started, "he's our future ace!"
"You shouldn't push his ego like that," Semi interfered.
Goshiki's expression changed immediately after hearing Tendō's statement, "Nice to meet all of you!"
"Aw, what a little cutie," Mayu said, turning the young first-year into a blushing mess.
"Are we the last ones??"
You turned towards the entrance as the other two males entered the room.
They greeted all of you before turning towards you, "you must be (Y/N). Nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you guys!"
"Everyone's here, right," Reon asked, looking around the small group.
"Yeah, everyone else had other plans already," Tendō replied.
Shirabu brought some snacks along, splitting it up and ensuring everyone had something to eat and drink. Then, everyone started to get in place while Tendō got his small projector.
"Why don't you girls choose first where you wanna sit," Reon suggested.
"Oh, thank you," Akane smiled at him.
"Should we all get on the bean bag," Mayu said.
"Do you think all of us will fit?"
"Sure,"
"We'll see," you laughed.
The three of you plopped down onto the bean bag, trying to get comfortable as all of you were sitting on it.
Tendō, Semi, Ushijima, and Reon sat on the bed. Shirabu, Goshiki, and Kawanishi were placed in front of the bed, having a large pillow to sit on.
"What movie should we watch," Semi asked.
"How about a scary movie," you suggested, "the weather fits perfectly!"
"That sounds good," Semi replied before the others agreed.
Shirabu suggested a new slasher movie about a group of teens that spent a weekend in a forest hut. They planned to just hang out and party, but their plan changed drastically as someone was trying to kill them off.
It took a bit of convincing, but everyone decided to watch it.
It didn't take long before it got quiet in Tendō's dorm as the movie started.
You and the other girls were snacking on some chips. Feeling the need to hydrate, you chugged a whole can of your soda.
Although it was a typical slasher movie, it did have some thrilling scenes besides the obvious Jump scares.
Once the movie ended, all of you decided to watch another scary movie. But this time, the decision fell onto a paranormal one.
"Are there some snacks left," Kawanishi asked, cocking his head as his eyes scanned through the room, trying to find some leftover snacks.
"Doesn't look like it," Ushijima replied.
"I can get some," you started, "I have to go to the toilet anyways."
"Are you sure," Shirabu asked.
"Sure, just tell me what you guys want,"
After everyone told you what they want, you were starting to head off, "(Y/N)-chan, I'm coming with you."
You turned around, locking eyes with Tendō as he walked towards you.
"Oh, you don't have to. I'm fine!"
"I don't want you to carry everything by yourself,"
"Thanks," you smiled at him.
"I hope you're enjoying it this far," he said, looking expectantly at you.
"Of course," you replied, "we should be doing this more often!"
"We do, actually," he stated, "you can join whenever you want to!"
"That would be great," you smiled in response.
You reached the restrooms as Tendō turned to look at you, "I'll be waiting for you."
You nodded, heading in there and trying to hurry up.
"Why did I drink that much," you sighed.
Tendō had a content smile as he swayed from left to right as he waited for you. However, he got startled when he heard a shriek come out of the restroom.
"(Y/N)-chan, "he called out before rushing in.
"(Y/N)-chan, what happened, are you hurt? Is there a monster, (Y/N)-chan?!"
You were breathing heavily, "I thought someone was peaking into the restroom."
You pointed towards the small window, "I guess it was just a branch."
"Phew," Tendō let out a breath, "you scared me there for a second."
"Sorry about that," you laughed sheepishly.
The red-head was walking towards the window. Wanting to see what he's about to do, you followed behind him. The branch hit the window again as he was about to tiptoe to peak through it.
Tendō got startled, tumbling backward. He bumped into you, resulting in both of you falling.
"(Y/N)-CHAN, "Tendō looked at you in utter shock, "I'm so sorry!"
You sat up, meeting the latter's gaze, "damn, that hurt."
You were propped on your elbows, having Tendō between your legs. The pose the two of you were in was quite questionable, to say the least.
"Here, let me help you up," Tendō said, swiftly getting up before he grabbed your hands, pulling you up.
"Thanks," you said, rubbing your elbow as it hurt.
"I'm so sorry," he repeated once again, "I- I didn't-"
"I didn't know you're a scaredy cat," you interrupted him, your voice sounding amused.
"I'm not," he replied, "I just thought it might break the window."
"Ah," you looked at him, knowing exactly that he was lying, "I see."
You had to chuckle, "so all it takes are some scary movies, and you're scared."
Just as he wanted to hit you with another excuse, he looked at you, raising one of his brows, "hold on, who thought that someone was peaking through the window? "
His voice sounded playful, "which is basically impossible since we're on the second floor."
A subtle blush dusted your cheeks, "I guess my mind was playing games."
Tendō laughed, seeming to be amused by your embarrassed face.
"Come on, let's go get the snacks before the others come looking for us,"
"Right," you said, picking up your pace and heading to the vending machine.
You finally returned to Tendō's dorm, heading back inside and noting that all eyes were on you.
"Why did it take you guys so long," Semi asked with a questioning look.
"Yeah, what were you up to," Akane looked at you suspiciously.
"We had a little incident," you replied.
"Yeah, the vending machine wasn't working at first," Tendō interfered, winking at you, which went unnoticed by the others as it was dark enough in his room.
"Let's continue," Shirabu exclaimed, reaching for a bag of chips.
The second movie started, and you took your previous seat on the bean bag next to Mayu.
Near the middle of it, you suddenly felt cold. You started to run your palm over your arm to warm yourself up. Tendō noticed your movements, taking off his track jacket and reaching it towards you. He was sitting right over you on his bed.
You looked over your shoulder, noting the jacket he was holding towards you.
You smiled at him, mouthing a "thanks "before taking it and putting it on.
Mayu was watching you warily, wondering if you were telling the truth regarding your relationship with Tendō. It didn't take long before your eyelids started to feel heavy, dozing off soon after.
"Did they seriously fall asleep? "
Reon had an amused expression on his face as he realized that you, Mayu, and Akane had fallen asleep. However, the three of you weren't the only ones.
"Goshiki's knocked out as well," Shirabu laughed.
Tendō's gaze was fixed on your sleeping face, letting his lips tug into a soft smile.
"Girls," Reon said softly, trying to wake you up, "wake up, the movie's over."
Your eyes fluttered open, "damn did I fall asleep?"
"What happened," Akane said groggily.
"Huuuh," Mayu groaned as she sat up, a big yawn escaping her mouth.
"I guess next time, we'll have to start a bit earlier," Kawanishi laughed.
"I missed half of the movie," Goshiki exclaimed, sounding sleepy.
"I agree, Kawanishi," Reon chuckled.
"We have to do this more often," you exclaimed.
"You're always welcome, (Y/N)-chan," Tendō said happily.
"Yeah, you can always join," Semi added.
You were chatting a bit before everyone decided to call it a night, as it was already pretty late.
You turned towards Tendō, "I almost forgot your jacket,"
"It's fine. Keep it on until you're at your dorm," he said, enjoying the view of you in his clothes.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I won't miss it," he joked.
"Alright, thank you," you smiled.
"Have a good night, everyone," you said your goodbyes as you headed off towards the girl's dormitories.
"I really had a lot of fun," Mayu exclaimed.
"Yeah, me too," you said.
"(Y/N)," Akane started, "I really have to admit that Tendō isn't such a bad guy."
"I told you so," you replied, "at least you're finally changing your mind."
You reached your floor, wishing the others a good night before you headed towards your dorm. You decided to hop into bed immediately. You buried your nose into the track jacket, smiling once you got a whiff of Tendō's scent.
Shortly after, you fell into a deep slumber.

can furudate release the player's 1600m/mile times. because either shiratorizawa vbc minus ushijima is collectively slacking when doing roadwork (unlikely, given their coach), or ushijima is running at winning long distance runner paces if he's able to leave everyone that far behind
#like he's probably a 9:30 minute 3200 guy at race pace if he's leaving everyone that far behind 😭!#which is like. not SUPER DUPER DUPER fast but still rather fast for a person he's a volleyball player not a track and fielder#ushijima wakatoshi

Can you write all the shiratorizawa vball club (the main players especially) were sick like some have a fever, stomach bug, vertigo, and kind like that. At first, semi take care of them before he's sick too.
A good title for this fic would be “the puke fest”. I may have gone a bit overboard with it, but hey, you asked, I delivered. I tried to include as many characters as possible, but the more people I put in a fic, the harder it is to write well. I'm rusty. CW in tags.
一一一
“This can’t be happening.”
“Unfortun’tely, i-it ap-appears it i-is.” Shirabu stuttered, leaning over the guardrail. Tiny beads of sweat ran down his forehead, and his grip on the boiling metal was vice and tight to the point where his hands’ color resembled snow’s.
Cars and trucks sprinted past them, coach Washijō still talking to the bus driver as most of his players were busy fighting against whatever nasty bug they’d caught. In the meantime, Saitō had warned the team they were supposed to play against that Shiratorizawa was definitely not going to make it.
They were barely halfway through the ride when Goshiki had brought up a mouthful of bile on his knees without a warning, much to Ōhira’s horror. Now, the vice captain had never been prone to sympathy-vomiting, but truthfully, he had been feeling off since the previous night, so seeing his teammate empty his stomach like that triggered something that made him scream and belch almost simultaneously.
Panic overtook everyone's senses, as Semi, the only one who didn't look ill, scrambled to warn the coaches. Just as the bus pulled over, a minute later, not only Goshiki and Ōhira, but also Shirabu, Kawanishi and Tendō had thrown themselves onto the asphalt, breathing heavily.
And that’s how Shiratorizawa had ended up stranded on the side of the road, with half the team on the brink of death一 according to their own words, anyway.
Semi clicked his tongue. “This is some kind of bad omen. Evil eye, maybe.”
A scoff. “Do you rea-really b’lieve in th’t stuff, Semi? It’s g-got n’thing to do w… wi一 uehgh!”
And just like that, Shirabu’s lunch spewed from his chapped lips and onto the unlucky grass beside the road. Semi patted his back and held his forehead to save him from a whiplash, but there was only so much he could do while his friend threw his whole soul up.
A couple of metres away, the pinch server could see Goshiki hunched over, hands plastered to his knees as he vomited, Tendō standing close behind him, not looking much better than his kōhai.
“T-T-Tendō-san, I dun’ feel w-well.” Goshiki murmured, voice scratchy, “I w-wan’ go h-home.”
Uneasy silence followed, and Goshiki briefly wondered if his senpai had left to go help someone else. He didn’t have the strength to turn around and check, but it didn’t really matter when Tendō fell onto the rough pavement like a sack of wet cement, palms flat on the floor as he retched helplessly. The scent of foreign puke alone was enough to make Goshiki throw up for the umpteenth time.
Tendō vomited again. Refuse now stained his chin and hands, and the smell of his own puke was enough to make him moan in discomfort. He felt a strong hand rubbing at his back, warm but slightly too heavy at the moment.
“W-Wakatoshi-kun, st’p…”
The captain stilled, raising a thick eyebrow. “Is this uncomfortable?”
“S’just, y’re scrambling my insides like eggs righ’ now, a-and they’re already mes-messed up.”
Simultaneously, Soekawa was busy whispering words of comfort to Kawanishi, who was evidently spent, wheezing as he clutched at his shirt in a faint attempt to calm his racing heart.
“Breathe, Kawanishi, come on.”
“M’tr-tryin’.” he coughed. “I jus’ feel awf-awful t’day.”
"I don't understand how this happened." Saitō hummed, pinching the bridge of his nose, "You said you guys never ate together in the past week, right?"
A general noise of confirmation made the man sigh deeper. "So it can't be food poisoning, which means that this team just has the worst luck on Earth."
The older man glanced towards Ushijima, crouched above his best friend. Tendō looked awful, sprawled on his side on the pavement, shaking all over as the team's captain provided some shade with his bulky form.
"Water, Satori?"
A shake of the head, then a moan.
From his position, Saitō cringed. "This is really bad."
"It is. We are all bound to catch the bug now." Washijō hummed solemnly as he walked towards his disciple, though a slight hint of concern edged in his voice. "The bus driver and I came to the conclusion that we should take them back to the school and have their parents pick them up. All of them." he explained, hands tied behind his back as usual, "I know for a fact that even those who aren't ill now, will have to deal with this soon. We'll have to suspend practice for at least ten days, for safe measure."
Saitō didn't look entirely convinced, but nodded nonetheless. "My fear is that the ride could make them feel even worse, but there's no other optionー"
"Uhm, c-coach?"
The man turns, eyeing Semi's rapidly paling complexion. A sickly shade of grey tinged the boy's shink, and the reddish flush on his cheeks and ears was a telltale sign that everyone knew far too well.
"I th-think I'm sick too…?"
It sounded more like a question, but Saitō didn't waste a moment and immediately placed his palm on Semi's forehead, mumbling a quick apology. The coach hissed at the unnatural heat radiating from the pinch server's bleached skin, and rapidly let his hand fall down to his neck, then back to his forehead. Dark-grey eyes, dull and watery, looked at Saitō with rapidly fading focus. "Coach?"
"Yeah. Semi-kun, you're definitely sick. Shit."
The sun shining on them with vice insistence didn't quite help. The adults could clearly tell how their players were affected by the light and heat, sweating and squinting, and the boiling asphalt and cars' gas contributed to making the air smell funny, and that, combined with illness, was a lethal combo.
Tendō was still lying on his side, and Ushijima himself started to look off, massaging his friend's back with a hand, and his own belly with another.
Kawanishi was yet to stop barfing, unconsciousness evidently pulling at his senses as he fought to stay awake, strong of Soekawa's insistentー borderline aggressive, at this pointー words of comfort.
Goshiki's nausea had ceased, but vertigo overtook his senses rapidly, forcing Sagae to take his own jersey off and fold it under his friend's head, a makeshift pillow to allow Goshiki to rest, legs up in the air held by Sagae himself.
Shirabu managed to take a shy sip of water, but promptly threw it right up. The boy didn't even have the force to call for Semi, and resigned himself to trying to quell his stomach cramps alone.
Ōhira being eerily silent was, probably, the most worrying thing that the coaches had witnessed today.
Overall, the team was in shambles. Washijō sighed, and stepped forward. He clapped his hands once, twice, and three times, to get everyone's attention. "Alright, team, try to stop barfing for a minute and get on the bus. We're going home. The heat's bad for you right now, and I'd rather know you're all safe in bed than abandoned to yourselves in some lay-by in the middle of June."
He then turned towards the members of the team that still looked like they could stand on their feet without toppling over. "Carry your teammates on the bus. We're leaving in three minutes. And if anyone has crackers or such, give them to your teammates as soon as you're in your seats." he hummed, "Saitō, help me find some paper or plastic bags."
The younger man immediately followed his senior, rapidly disappearing into the bus.
It took more than three minutes, admittedly, but somehow everyone was back on the bus on their way home, and the corridor of said bus was still clean, thanks to the coaches' quick thinking.
Goshiki, Ōhira, Tendō and Kawanishi had passed out almost immediately once they were helped to their seats, spent and exhausted beyond imagination, while Ushijima, Shirabu and Semi had thrown up a handful of times before even making it on the bus. Once they were seated down, next to each other, they'd fallen into an uneasy slumber, groaning and moaning uncomfortably, guts twisting and knotting tight.
"We'll be home soon." Washijō murmured to Saitō. "Did you manage to contact their parents yet?"
Saitō shook his head feebly. As he turned towards the other coach, a thin layer of sweat became visible on his forehead, eyes wide and foggy. "Actually… I think I'm going to have to call someone for myself too."

CHARACTER
Personality: Teresa is a kind, caring, organized and supportive girl who is also determined and sometimes persistent, frank, as well as adventurous. Generally easy-going, she's a positive individual who is straightforward, she doesn't keep anything hidden in her heart. She's compassionate and honest, Teresa can bring out the best in people and has a way of getting what she wants.
She may not look like it but she has great intuition and sensitive to the emotions of others, this makes her adaptable to many people but feel exhausted from too much stimulation and will stay in her room for hours to recharge.
She's family-oriented due to having such a large family, though in some cases she can get embarrassed by them. Such as the time when half of them visit Japan to see her and spend time with her, though flustered she appreciated the gesture.
Teresa is proud to be the manager of a powerhouse team though not to the point of arrogance and bragging. She's highly protective of them especially her juniors. One time when she witnessed Tsutomu getting bullied, she threaten to stab his bullies with her heels in their crotch if they don't leave him.
Behind her pretty exterior hides a very sadistic, sarcastic, and hilarious nature. Teresa is a skilled huntress and finds pleasure in her prey's pain, she gets particularly excited when her prey runs as it makes more exciting for her, especially to hear their pained screams.
Though not she's cruel, she will be as a form of retaliation to bullying if they continue, this especially applies to entitled and toxic fangirls who are delusional in thinking she wants all the boys in VBC team to herself, promising to disfigure they're faces if they continue to bully her.
Her relationship with Wakatoshi is similar to an 'old married couple as they often act like parents to the team. She's supportive of her boyfriend and often stays behind with him to help him practice and encourages him to take breaks and relax. Due to his popularity, she's quite possessive of him and would subtly lay her claim on him whenever other girls flirt with him. However, deep inside she fully prepared if he ever chooses volleyball over her, caring about his happiness over hers.
Likes: Family and friends, Wakatoshi, grilled squid and octopus, hardcore yaoi, music, flowy dresses, strong sunblock, sewing, fashion, volleyball, pom-pom pens, knives, her turtle Chelone.
Dislikes: Harm to her friends and family, her ex, toxic and entitled fangirls, her juniors and friends bullied, ginger, forgetting to use sun block, her leg acting up, her extended family being too much, her younger brothers taking things without her permission, entitled people, people saying she should need more sun on her.
Hobbies: Impalement arts, volleyball, shopping, cooking, roller skating, spear fighting, sewing, watching anime and movies, hunting, kick boxing, reading, pottery, playing video games.
Goal(s): To make sure the team is in top form and figure out what she wants in life. (Hopefully to marry Wakatoshi).
Current concerns Hiding her more extreme mangas from Satori.
