More clothing studies, this time from my fic Axis. I was aiming for authenticity while also trying to have each of their personalities show a little bit in their clothing choices. Two for Nicky, to show his layers.

when characters have poofy messy but otherwise straight hair, i like to headcanon that their hair is actually naturally wavy/curly and they just don't know how to/don't care to take proper care of it. bc irl that is often the case (speaking from personal experience)

#eliot posts #*looks back at my younger self who didn't know their hair was wavy just thought it was Bad*#i was fuckin. walking around with hair poofed up like a mix between a founding father and a startled cat #and with a halo of frizz at all times #older relatives would call it nappy or ratty and suggest i cut it off or get a relaxer treatment done on it #(sidenote a bit ago i learned that apparently ''nappy'' is usually a racialized term tho i myself am white)#fascinating that they knew that straightening treatments would ''fix'' my hair but did not actually know my hair was wavy #i wore my hair real long back then too so it was constantly tangled lol #memories of being a kid and my dad having to basically corner me to brush my hair in the morning before school #my mother would bitch about my hair being too long when i was a kid and sometimes TRICK ME into getting it cut shoulder length #but then when i was an older teen and wanted it cut real short she FORBADE ME from going any shorter than a bob???#so i just left it super long til i moved out and then chopped it all off and sold it to a wigmaker for a $300 profit lmao #now that it's short tho the wave pattern is very minimal #part bc of the way i style it part bc it's just a 2b wave pattern so you need a bit of length before the waves start getting really defined #anyway like. looks at catra and eda. let me get u some good conditioner and a wide toothed comb bby

Oml I love haircuts too 😭. although Ive never been able to cut it down to a buzz or anything like that, but I do love having it short as fuck!! Hair holds memories and I guess that's quite something considering that it gives a free feeling once you cut it, for a new commence I guess?? ((I yap too much lmao)) Idk, but it feels quite liberating being able to cut it short n shii as if nothing can hold u back now. Again, idk :))

i don't know either! it doesn't really give me any feelings other than "oooo air on my skull & i feel so Clean"

#this might be due to the fact that i've Always had it short #my hair has never grown past my shoulders #and the two (2) times it got to that length i chopped it off after like. a month lmao #Could Not Stand It!#but that was in elementary/middle respectively. i havent had it long since!#gonna try to maintain the top so that i can achieve my Favorite Style once again...#rambles from the bog #haircuts are therapy to me <3

do not try to cut side curtain bangs with office scissors

#i had to salvage it with blunt step bangs #which look not great but at least look on purpose #i would have gone back to ol' reliable normal full bangs #but to get side bangs you need to cut a larger chunk than you would for front bangs #so it would look strange with my fringe wrapping to my ears lol #i don't mind too much #it all grows back and if i really hate it i can just bobby pin it back #i also tried to do a full trim with layers #but ended up cutting like 2+ inches off and the layers DO NOT WORK #what people don't tell you is that those easy cut layers using a ponytail are for when you have like waist length hair #if your hair is at shoulders or shorter the layers don't work properly #i have always cut my own hair including crazy styles and dyeing and even bleaching #i think this is one of the worser jobs i've done #still not a total hack job but not great #issue is my hair is so fine fragile and temperamental

i was watching videos of the diy butterfly haircut and now my hair is 5 inches shorter (FINALLY) and i'm $90 richer, i hope it dries well with my curls
