東南アジアのアーティストで初めて候補に選ばれた、フィリピンのボーイズグループ･･･

「SB19（エスビーナインティーン）」。

グループ名の、SBは”Sound Break”の略で、運営会社である『ShowBT』に由来。

”19”は、フィリピンは+63、韓国は+82である国番号を1つずつ足し算した数字だって。

そんなSB19の、元プロデューサーらしいチョン・ソンハンさんが新しく設立した会社・

SBtownから、SB19のトレーニングを担当した韓国人のトレーナー・Adie Hongさんと

再び組んだ新しいPOPグループが、昨年末から続いてデビューしているっぽいですよ!

しかも～↑↑･･･、SB19のトレーニング&育成期間はおよそ3年間だったらしいのですが、

トレーニング&育成期間はそれを上回る4年だって！その1組目はガールズグループ･･･

デビュー曲「SHABA SHABA」に続く、2曲目。リリースは、’23年6月。およそ1ヶ月で

MVの再生回数は100万を超えています！曲のプロデュースは、SB19とかを手掛ける

韓国のOhwon Leeさん。曲は、アトランタベースが入ったダンスポップだと思いますが

透明感あるボーカル&コーラス、1:28～のラップから始まる2番の入りとか好きです。

韓国のTWICEやBLACKPINKとか、あとタイのポップグループみも感じます。YGIGは

続く6月30日に「TOUCHDOWN」、さらに7月14日に「BB」と続けて新曲をリリース。

曲はムーンバートンやトラップ系で、MVは再生回数がともに50万を超えているしで、

今後が楽しみです。そんなガールズグループ・YGIGのデビューからおよそ4ヶ月後･･･

’23年3月31日にデビューしたのが2組目･･･、PLUUS！今度は、ボーイズグループ。

そしてトレーニング&育成期間はYGIGと同じSB19を超える、およそ4年ですって。

MVの再生回数はすべて100万を超えていて、「AMIGO」は約3か月で350万回です。

楽曲制作には、韓国のラッパーやアーティストに加えて、メンバーが参加しています。

「AMIGO」は、ベースハウス曲だと思います。ボーカルが韓国感ありますが、メロディの

所々にSB19ぽいフィリピン感があったり、3:20～の曲&MVの展開とかも楽しいです!

フィリピンはSB19の曲「MAPA」がVideo再生数1億回に迫ったり、MVの再生回数が

100万を超える新しいグループが毎年出てきたりして目が離せません。あと･･･

the dream I chose not to pursue

I’ve been itching to write this one. I just had to finish all the episodes of Kaia’s Road to Debut documentary. For those who don’t know, Kaia is a five-member group under Showbt Ph and a sister group of SB19. Kaia is composed of Angela, Charice, Sophia, Alexa, and Charlotte, and they just debuted months ago. I didn’t know I would be able to like their group because I only wanted to stan SB19, but my close friend, Lian, is persistent, so I had to check. Eventually, I started to like their group and also their music.  As I watch their performance videos, training videos, and especially their documentary series, I can’t help but wonder what would happen if I chose a different path for myself. What if I chose to pursue what I really wanted to do instead of choosing what I thought would strengthen my weaknesses? What if I choose the path that will make me feel fulfilled? The idea of becoming a performer and representing my country's music around the world lingers in my mind.

What I have learned from their documentary series is that, behind every success in life, is a series of failures, doubts, barricades, and hardship. If you’re still a trainee, there are instances where all your sacrifices will turn to waste given the fact that they will only choose a few members for the final group. In this field, you have to accept that you’re not better than anyone else. As long as you’re willing to carry the burden of your dreams, I know you can do it. As for me, I don’t think I can withstand being a public figure because I don’t really like publicity.  Anyway, whether I chase this dream of mine or not, I still believe God put me into engineering because it is for me. There are too many applicants for this course in our school, so I asked for a sign that if I got in, this degree program is for me, but if not, I’ll try to enroll in other schools or maybe work while we’re still in a pandemic. However, the stars aligned according to my prayers, so I happened to enter this school. I am still happy and more than willing to carry the burden of being an engineering student.  That’s all for now and until my next step :))

SB19 fan confession

                People who knows me very well will wonder why I stan this All Pinoy member group when I am a die hard Kpop stan for more than 14 years now. Well, I am still a Kpop fan but when I discovered this group in October 2020, I was so mesmerized and shocked that a Filipino boy group can be this good, I first heard their live performance of “Hanggang sa Huli” in Youtube and I started checking other songs, their vocals are stable and they are well synchronized when it comes to dancing which is very refreshing to see in a local scene.

                Aside from their Music videos, I got addicted to their Vlogs and other contents in their official Youtube channel, I saw their personalities and that’s when I decided to be an official member of their fan club. Literally from November up to December, all I stream on Spotify is their songs, and all SB19 related contents is all I searched on Youtube. And the fact that I reinstalled my Twitter just to be updated with them. Unfortunately, until now I am not successful with purchasing any official merchandise at Lazada but I am still trying up to this moment.

               At one point, I am regretting the fact that I did not stan them when I first saw an article of them when their song Go Up got viral in 2019 because I was too busy with Kpop groups. If I can just turn back the time when they went to Davao when they had the Pepsi performance, because surely, I will be one of those screaming and enjoying their performance like a teenager.

             Their perseverance and over all attitude and talent made me stan harder. I am so happy with all the achievements they have, I feel like an older sister who is supporting her little brothers in achieving their dreams.

             I thought I will lost it, I was mentally unstable due to the fact that my father died on March 10, 2020, days before the ECQ was announced. And months have passed and I felt like I am just living for the sake of living but when I discovered these boys, I realized a lot of things and their optimism can make people like me be inspired to do what needs to be done and what I enjoyed doing. They made me forget all the pain I’m feeling, their passion drives me to do my best in life.

          I just wrote this just to tell everyone my journey on how I became an A’tin.

There's this new Filipino boy group that I discovered recently. The name of the group is "SB19". They are under a Korean company that's why it has "k-pop" vibes but their songs are in Filipino language, thus clarifying that their genre is "P-POP (Pilipino/Pinoy Pop) or OPM (Original Pilipino Music).

Their song "Go Up" tackles about reaching your dreams and giving all of your heart to achieve it no matter what".

I just want to say that I'm proud of ShowBT for doing this because it will create fairness for everyone.

HOWEVER, banning fans from seeing SB19 in future events for not going to the concert is just plain cruel. The future is unpredictable. Fans buy tickets now because they believe they can go. But an unexpected event can happen to someone causing them to not be able to go. I apologize for my rudeness but that doesn't give you, ShowBT, any right to ban fans just because of their life's circumstances.

I get that you want fans to be 100% sure that they are going to the concert, but nothing in life is ever 100%.
