Can’t stop thinking about how when Aiden and Talon train sword fight together and their swords cross for the first time their swords basically recognize each other because they were made for this.
They were made to fight side by side, made to work together. It is engraved in the memory of their steel.
It’s like the people that used to hold them found each other again in this very clash of blade to blade. And it feels so familiar that the boys can feel it too.
@deadlycupid I really need to write that sword fight practice scene now I have so many feelings 😭

I think i finally figured out what my greatest gripe with the portrayal of Talon in Katarina's comic was. I mean, yes, they made him completely pathetic just to make her look good, but it wasn't my main issue with him.
Talon was always, since his inception, portrayed as a solitary and independent character. In his release comic,
in Cassiopeia's comment on Du Couteau's relations with him in JoJ,
in his judgement where he decides his independence is more urgent than companionship,
and even in the first goddamn paragraph of his bio.
Which makes perfect sense for someone who grew up in the environment he did. He was NEVER socialized and it resulted in him growing to be a quite dysfunctional, solitary, but still independent adult. When Marcus went missing, he didn't turn to Katarina, Cassiopeia or Soreana to organize a search party. No, he gave no fucks, he decided to look for the man by himself. He had no need to ask for help and I bet he didn't even consider it in the first place - a psychologically correct mindset for a man who grew up believing it's every man for himself. His actions during the JoJ run were, also, solitary. He didn't team up with anyone, he acted ALONE and INDEPENDENT, and had no interest in being validated by anyone. His themes were these of solitude, of man with nothing except for the place in the world he painstakingly carved for himself, a man who wanted and needed no one but himself.
Meanwhile in the comic, Talon goes "Waah waah big sis Kata, m-my heirlooms! Waah waah, daddy Marcus, notice me! Waah waah, mommy Soreana, nurse me back to health!" EVERYTHING he does in the comic is related to another character (and often their approval). There is no independence left in him. He is not a solitary self-made man. He is an emotional sadboi who lets everyone else rule his life for him, with ZERO autonomy. (And this is not to say I'm against male characters crying, that is not the issue here.)
To quote Talon, this is pathetic. This is disgusting, this is a clear misunderstanding and misrepresenting of Talon's themes, and as someone who devoted a better part of her life to this character, I hate it.
