There's something so funny about seeing Hoid panicking. Yes, I know that Odium wants him dead, or rather, vaporised, and yes, I know that the future of the Cosmere is at risk at the moment, but having Sigzil tell him how incredibly stupid he's been for bringing a dawnshard (one of the most powerful weapons in the Cosmere, which, by the way, he shouldn't even be carrying arround) to Roshar, where Odium could take it. Sigzil doesn't even know what a dawnshard is, but just from the little explanation Wit gives him he already knows it's a bad idea. He deserves to be terrified for having such a stupid idea. I'm very sad for Sig, tho, he doesn't know what he's gotten himself into, and judging by The sunlit man his future doesn't seem pretty fun.

You guys have no idea how insane I am about Auxillary. The guy who scolded Szeth for expressing too much emotion has to rely on third-person narrating his words to show the tone of his voice because it's literally an emotionless monotone. The guy who took an insult that was flung at him at the most humiliating moment of his life and made it his name, wore it as a badge of honor. My most pathetic jerk of a spren who turned into an amazing and supposting companion for Sigzil. He, who recognised he sucked and had the courage to ask for help. The guy who sacrificed himself for his friend and made a point about it being HIS choice, just like Kaladin taught.

Do you think they put Kaladin’s soulcast body next to Teft’s? What pose did they choose for him? Which dress did the sculptor have Syl wearing? Is Leyten’s body beside them, thus defining a Bridge 4 section of Urithiru’s mausoleum? Did they create an effigy for Sig because they think the remnants of Hoid’s blood was his?

Rereading the Sunlit Man and I am cracking up at the idea of the Cinder King reading about the Blackthorn's war crimes and Dalinar's "Unite them" and making that into a messed up bucket list "wow this guy is right I should set fire to people who disagree with me and I should unite everyone under my banner by force! this conqueror gets it!" Somewhere in the cosmere/ the beyond Dalinar's ghost is very disturbed. Cinder King's kicking his feet doodling fiery hearts around the blackthorns name not knowing that if they ever met he would be obliterated in an instant. Nomad has every right to laugh in this guy's face. Imagine being on the run for 300 years and then some guy with glowing red eyes on some tiny planet in the middle of nowhere quotes your old boss at you and asks your old boss would be proud of him. And then has the audacity to break an oath around a rosharan.

A PowerPoint Party is where you and some friends give PowerPoint presentations, usually on some sort of silly topic. If Cosmere characters were participating in such an activity, here is how I think it would go!

I believe that--if it were ethical, which it is not--I could likely build a Baby Tower that was at least a dozen babies tall. Akane: I am SO engaged.

I remember being a little shocked at how Nomad was acting for most of The Sunlit Man, the way he just didn't care about others around him and how he spoke so bitterly and with no respect for anyone. Now, I know that it made sense considering what he had been through, but after realizing he was Sigzil, that really bothered me. What had happened to that curious, excited Windrunner that we know from the Stormlight Archive?

But now I just finished rereading The Way of Kings and you know what? Sigzil acted almost exactly like that when he was a slave. Before Kaladin saved him and the rest of Bridge Four, Sigzil was bitter and rude and just didn't care about anything or anyone.

It's great writing from Sanderson, of course. But my heart breaks even more for Sigzil. The fact that he had to go back to that mentality that he had when he was a slave so long after... It's just tragic.

Imagine being Lirin at the end of WaT, having Wit kick you out of your own operating room so he can talk to your patient, and then when you go back in because there are people with treatable injuries waiting, not only are both of them gone, but at least one of them seems to have fucking exploded.

Finally reading The Sunlit Man. Turns out the local tyrant read a cosmere travel guide and concluded that all Rosharans are psychopaths. Amazing.

one of my favourite things in the sunlit man is how it’s displays roshar from an outsiders perspective—particularly with The Cinder King.

he sees roshar as a place where war and violence is the most important thing. we obviously know that’s not all that they’re defined by, buts he’s looking at roshar through one perspective. the book he gets highlights this violence so of course he’ll think that’s the only thing that matters. combine that with nomads skill and of course he’ll feel like that has to be the central driving factor for all of them.

and then nomad turns it around and tells him that the most important thing to a rosharan is not violence: it’s an oath. and the breaking of an oath on roshar is something that deadly.
