also watching tlou made me think about zombie apocalypse naoya… the zen’in estate becomes a fortress, the inside somehow completely unscathed. these buildings survived through centuries of war and harsh weather, it absolutely will not fall to this. the outer perimeter is mostly lined by men with bows and arrows, but naoya prefers a more hands-on approach: his knife.

I for one actually am indifferent, because i do not care what someone else might think of me to save my life XD In fact, it's almost irritating that they took *my* behavior/emotion and applied it to them or in relation to themselves. Like ''your shirt is cool'' yes, i know, it wasn't for you go away. ''You're mean today'' yes, i'm aware, it comes out of my mouth. Etc, you see ? I know that the ''normal'' human behavior is to be conscious of others, we live in a society blablabla. But i honestly just forget about other people and don't care what they think or how they'll be affected (and if you know anything at all about schizoids, you know i mean that in the outmost neutral way, not in a bad OR good way), so it always feel like i'm drawing something and a totaly random person grabs it and is like ''wow, put yellow dude cause i love yellow'' like excuse me jerk that's mine ? That's the feeling ^^ I truly feel indifferent with criticism and irritated by compliments unless from/with a very select few people, i can validate or scold myself from within (funnier as a system lol), so i'm annoyed when others seem to think i need them for it. Does it help ? That being said the masking and shoving down emotions part also is true ^^

Hi! I have a question about schizoid PD since I was doing some research (wondering if I have it myself), and you're the only blog I know of who might have an answer /lh

One of the criteria in the DSM is "Appears indifferent to the criticism or praise of others". Would the schizoid person only have to show indifference (due to the "appears" part), or would they actually have to feel indifferent towards criticism or praise?

in my experience and the few people with szpd I've known, they usually feel the effect of the praise/criticism, but have learned to mask the response so well they appear indifferent. they feel the emotion, they just don't show it.

more often than not personality disorders stem from trauma, so it makes sense to just. mask responses and shove emotions down to not be labelled as emotional, crybabies, always complaining etc by abusers
