GUID Database Revival
I've finished setting up a way to revive the GUID database, albeit not an automatic one, it is low-key, but rather simple. Instructions are on the pinned post. [It's a Dreamwidth community, basically one webpage where people can dump their GUID info, straight from Excel or a list].
It is searchable with multi search add-ons for browser. Search for multiple entries in one go.
Avoid conflicts with originally registered GUIDs (Not foolproof; assuming GUIDs where assigned in a certain way).
Avoid conflicts with new random GUIDs (that are in the DB).
Creators are indexed - see if your favorite active creators are on there.
Everyone can join, but only members can post. Happy Simming! https://sims2-guid-database.dreamwidth.org/ Example:

_____________________________________
Hello everyone! Welcome to what I hope becomes a go-to stop in people's Sims 2 Modding journey. I was inspired by @acottonsocksims2 Mod's Master list, to make one for Default Replacements/Overrides.
I Like many others enjoy Modernizing The Sims 2, and I hope this post of many Links to beautiful Defaults and Overrides will help others easily do so. I know It can be a pain to go out and find everything!
So here's a Master list of several Defaults and Overrides I love!
Part 2 in the works

Quick GUID Checker for Sims 2
Tumblr media
This is an expansion on @picknmixsims Microsoft Excel sheet available here. It is a table I made that is incredibly lazy but effective and quick at searching for searching for Maxis GUID conflicts when you create new GUIDs. It's a little easier to use since the GUID Database has been down for a long time and you can add your own GUIDs onto the list and update the formula if you're savvy enough in Excel.

I'm not a simblr so this will be very out of place here but I recreated a lost default for Sims 2, originally defaulted by Spieldose.
Tumblr media
(A preview image created by Spieldose)
Why this exists (the lore):
For a while I assumed I was the only one who comprehended this default. It appears on the sims 2 database despite the links being dead for years. Other defaults by the same creator have been/are being searched for and yet, no one asked about this one! I've not seen one mention of it (or the item it uses to default) on the internet at all aside from my inquires.
Yesterday, I decided that I was done with waiting. I needed to have it and if that meant I had to do it myself then that's what I would do. It took blood, sweat, and literal tears (I'm stupid and half of these guides are a decade old) to get this done but I did it.
As for actual pertinent information:
I replaced a color (the white over black) with grey, so it's not a 1:1 recreation but it's mostly in tact.
It does not replace the jersey for teens. I have no need of it and I already spent 12 hours on the adult one :,D

Hello and thank you for your contributions to the Sims 2 community. I appreciate anyone who has the talent and time to make custom content. I downloaded your updated version of HCove bunk beds (the corrected repositoried version) but only the upper bunk shows up in my game. Any idea why the bottom bunk is not there? It could just be a glitch with my game. Has anyone else reported having this problem? Thanks for your help.
Hi!
The top and bottom bunks are separate objects. You need to put them together in the same location with the "moveobjects on" cheat. The bottom bunk costs 100 simoleons and the top costs 525. I forgot to clarify that in the post.
If the bottom bunk is not showing as a separate object either, it might be conflicting with another custom object or a mod in your Downloads folder. Each object (and some mods) has one or more GUIDs, which are numbers that make them unique. There used to be a database of GUIDs and a system to register them incorporated into SimPE, but the database went down years ago. So the new way to register GUIDs, as far as I understand, makes it slightly more probable to accidentally give two objects the same GUID.
You can find if this is the case with HDCU Plus. If you find the object, you can delete it or change its GUID. I don't know how familiar you are with SimPE or GUID conflicts in general, so let me know if you need more help.

How to Use CEIR Mobile Tracker to Find Your Lost Phone in India
Tumblr media
Losing your mobile phone can become such a stressful occasion, especially when you think how many personal data items are stored on modern smartphones. In this regard, India's Department of Telecommunications has come up with a ceir mobile tracker a centralized system which helps in tracking, blocking, or recovering of lost or stolen phone using its IMEI number. This blog would take you step by step through how you can use the CEIR mobile tracker, understand how an IMEI tracker works, and make full use of services such as Verizon IMEI check that help in verifying these device details.
What is CEIR Mobile Tracker?
CEIR stands for Central Equipment Identity Register. This is a scheme of the Government of India that prevents the use of stolen mobile phones and misuses occurring through lost devices. The user will be able to register a lost or stolen mobile phone and block it through the unique IMEI number of that mobile phone, which is the International Mobile Equipment Identity. Once it is blocked, further use of the device is of no consequence on the networks of India. Thieves find it utterly useless for reselling or using otherwise.
The CEIR system connects with mobile network operators, police databases, and manufacturers to create a unified platform for tracking and blocking devices.
What is an IMEI Number and Why is it Important?
An IMEI number is a 15-digit unique identification number assigned to every mobile device. It is used by mobile networks to identify valid devices and can be instrumental in blocking stolen phones. Think of it as your phone’s fingerprint.
You can find your IMEI number by dialing *#06# or checking your device’s box or settings. It’s advisable to keep a record of your IMEI number in case of emergencies.
To understand your phone’s status before buying or to verify ownership, platforms like Verizon IMEI check and TrackIMEI.net offer reliable information. These services tell you if a phone has been blacklisted, reported lost, or locked to a specific network.
Step-by-Step Guide to Using CEIR Mobile Tracker
If your mobile device is lost or stolen in India, follow these steps to use the CEIR mobile tracker:
Step 1: File a Police Complaint
Before initiating the CEIR process, you must file an FIR (First Information Report) with your local police station. The CEIR portal requires the FIR number and scanned copy of the complaint as proof.
Step 2: Get a Duplicate SIM
Visit your service provider to get a duplicate SIM for your lost number. This is important because CEIR sends status updates and OTPs to your registered number during the process.
Step 3: Locate IMEI Number
Find your IMEI number from the phone’s box, purchase invoice, or previous backup records. If you had registered your phone’s IMEI with platforms like TrackIMEI.net, it’s easy to retrieve.
Step 4: Submit a Request on the CEIR Portal
Click on "Block Stolen/Lost Mobile"
Fill in the form with details like:
IMEI number
Mobile number
Device brand and model
Lost location and date
Police complaint number and copy
Upload identity proof and FIR
Submit the request
Once submitted, your phone will be blocked across all mobile networks in India. Thieves won’t be able to insert any SIM and use the device.
How to Unblock Your Device via CEIR
If you recover your lost device, you can unblock it by visiting the CEIR portal and clicking on “Unblock Found Mobile”. You’ll need to provide your request ID from the initial blocking request along with identity proof.
Using TrackIMEI.net for Additional Support
While the CEIR mobile tracker works within India, platforms like https://trackimei.net/ offer additional tools for IMEI tracking, verification, and locating devices globally. Here’s how you can use it:
Enter your IMEI number to check if the device is blacklisted
Use it as a secondary IMEI tracker in case your device is not showing up on CEIR
Perform a Verizon IMEI check to verify if an imported or used phone is compatible or blacklisted
TrackIMEI.net is especially helpful for users dealing with international or imported phones, as it can offer global database verification.
Tips to Protect Your Mobile Phone
Always note your IMEI number and keep a copy in a safe place.
Install phone tracking apps like Find My Device (Android) or Find My iPhone (iOS).
Avoid rooting or jailbreaking your phone, which may compromise security.
Enable cloud backups for data recovery.
Use screen locks and app locks to prevent unauthorized access.
Final Thoughts
Losing a phone is never pleasant, but thanks to digital tools like the CEIR mobile tracker and phone number tracker live location platforms like TrackIMEI.net, you now have an efficient way to block and trace your device. Additionally, performing a Verizon IMEI check can help ensure that any second-hand or imported phone you're using is legitimate and safe.
By being proactive and informed, you not only safeguard your data but also make it difficult for criminals to benefit from phone theft. So, take a few minutes today to note your IMEI and register with services like CEIR and TrackIMEI—you’ll be glad you did if your phone ever goes missing.
Let me know if you’d like this blog formatted for WordPress or want a version with meta title and description!

An IMEI is a unique 15-digit code assigned to every mobile device. It serves as the identity of your phone and is essential when it comes to locating a lost or stolen mobile. Unlike a SIM card, which can be replaced, the IMEI number is fixed to the hardware of your device.
You can find your IMEI number by dialing *#06# on your phone or checking the phone box, invoice, or inside the settings.
Why Use an IMEI Tracker Online?
An IMEI tracker online for lost mobile is a tool that helps locate your device using its IMEI number. This method works even if the SIM card is removed or the GPS is turned off, as the IMEI number remains unchanged. It’s a reliable way to locate, block, or report a device to law enforcement.
One highly trusted website offering such a service is https://trackimei.net/. They provide a user-friendly and efficient platform to track your device and even perform other functions like Verizon IMEI check for compatibility and authenticity.
Step-by-Step Guide to Using an IMEI Tracker Online for Lost Mobile
Step 1: Find Your IMEI Number
Before you can use any IMEI tracker, you’ll need the 15-digit IMEI number of your lost phone. Here are ways to find it:
If you had saved it earlier, check the phone’s box or bill.
Look at your Google Dashboard (for Android users) if the phone was linked.
Check your Apple ID account (for iPhone users) for device details.
Having this number handy is crucial for initiating the tracking process.
Step 2: Visit a Trusted IMEI Tracking Website
Head over to https://trackimei.net/. This platform offers free IMEI tracking services and allows users to track their mobile phone’s location online.
Here’s what you’ll find on the homepage:
IMEI input box
A ‘Track’ button
Additional options for checking device information
Step 3: Enter Your IMEI Number
In the provided field, type in the 15-digit IMEI number of your lost phone. Be sure to enter the number accurately, as any mistake may lead to incorrect results or failure to track.
Step 4: Click “Track IMEI”
Once you've entered the IMEI number, click the “Track IMEI” button. The system will begin searching through its database and network systems to locate your device based on the IMEI signature.
The tool can identify the last known location of your phone, track its movement, and in some cases, help block the device to prevent misuse.
Step 5: Use the Results and Take Action
After processing, the IMEI tracker online for lost mobile will generate results such as:
The approximate last known location
Device status (active/inactive)
Network provider details
With this information, you can take further actions:
Report to the police with the generated data
Contact your service provider to block the device
Inform local authorities or IMEI tracking services to blacklist the phone
Bonus Tip: Use Verizon IMEI Check Before Buying Second-Hand Phones
In addition to tracking, platforms like TrackIMEI.net also offer services like the Verizon IMEI check. If you're planning to buy a used phone, especially from Verizon, this tool helps verify if the device is compatible, blacklisted, or stolen.
This check prevents you from purchasing a device that may already be blocked or unusable. Simply input the IMEI number into the Verizon IMEI checker to see the device's legitimacy and activation eligibility.
Tips to Protect Your Phone in the Future
Always note down your IMEI number and save it securely.
Install tracking apps like Find My iPhone or Find My Device on Android.
Lock your phone with a secure password or biometrics.
Back up your data regularly to the cloud.
Use apps or services that can remotely wipe your data if needed.
Final Thoughts
Using an IMEI tracker online for lost mobile is one of the most effective ways to locate your missing phone. Tools like those offered by TrackIMEI.net simplify the process, whether you want to find your device or perform a Verizon IMEI check before buying a second-hand phone.
Time is crucial when your phone goes missing. So, act fast, use a reliable IMEI tracker, and take the necessary steps to safeguard your personal information.

Hi, Jinxy! Thank you so much for your wonderful conversions! Please, can you tell, which tutorials you've used to learn? I would love to make conversions too, but some parts of creating process are quite confusing (like getting GUIDs for example). Any advices would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Hello, anon! I'm happy to offer up the tutorials I used to figure out (as much as I have, anyway...) this whole conversion and object creation thing.
@keoni-chan has a really well written tutorial on converting objects (with pictures!) available on her Livejournal here. For the most part, her instructions are what I do, we just have a few differences in settings. For instance, in blender, you don't need to check "Write Normals" and "Write Materials," because they just create unnecessary files for you to delete and if you're new to things, the fewer files you have floating around to confuse you, the better.
The other main difference would be that there is no longer a database for GUIDs in Sims 2 (as so many tutorials point you to). To create a unique GUID for an object, in SimPe, go to Tools > Object Creation > Hash Generator and make sure the little dot beneath the "string" box is on CRC 24. At the bottom of the box is a field marked "Hash Value." So long as you've given your object a thoroughly unique name, it will create a random GUID derived from that name that you can use. It's super easy to do. The picture below shows each of the necessary elements.
Tumblr media
If the object you're creating requires multiple GUIDs (like a dining table or bed or the hutch I'm converting right now, for instance), I just use what would be immediately around the GUID SimPE generated for me. For example, if the GUID the program generated is 0x0075768B, I'd make the additional GUIDs 0x0075768A, 0x0075768C, and 0x0075768D. Or 0x00757680, 0x00757681, 0x00757682, etc. Just change that last letter or number, and you're good to go.
The only tutorial I regularly reference is by @hugelunatic and that's her repository technique tutorial. I can never remember all the steps on my own, so I check back on it every time I'm doing something I want slaved.
My biggest piece of advice would be to work smarter, not harder. Think about what you're creating, and clone something that makes creating your job easiest, at least until you really get the hang of SimPE and all the different parts of it. For instance, if you're making something decorative with glass, clone the football helmet in a case because it has a glass subset and you won't have to change a bunch of things in the TXMT because of it. If you want to make an end table with a lot of slots, clone an end table with a lot of slots already. There's no need to reinvent the wheel. Learning to do this can be time consuming and frustrating, but so much of it is trial and error and just getting used to the SimPE program. Any way you can make things easier on yourself... do.
Other tips based on my own errors... if at first your object doesn't succeed, go to Tools > Object Tools > Fix Integrity. More than once that's righted a frustrating problem I spent way too long trying to puzzle through. If you find your recolors aren't showing up, it's because you forgot to click the checkbox next to update all MMATs and update (see: Keoni's step 16 for reference). Go and check it, update it, and then redo your recolors with the corrected MMAT. For glass subsets, make sure the "stdMatAlphaBlendMode" in the TXMT has a "Value" of blend. If you have things like leaves or filigree or something that has a white outline that should not have a white outline, go to the TXMT and find the field that says "stdMatAlphaTestEnabled." Change the "Value" from 0 to 1 and the white boxes will be gone.
I hope this was clear enough to be at least a little helpful. I'm still learning myself, so I know just how overwhelming it can be. If I get a little extra time, I'll try to put together a step-by-step tutorial myself with all the little tips and tricks I've picked up through trial and error.
It can be really intimidating at first, but once you start spending time in the program, the pieces of it kind of fall into place. I know that may sound like a cop out, but it's really not. I'm nowhere near an expert, but I'm much more confident with it now than I was just a few months ago.
Be patient with yourself! If an object is causing tons of problems, sometimes it's best to start over from scratch, or at the very least, walk away for a while and come back to it. Making mistakes is part of the learning process. Good luck!

Would you ever consider typing out a mods list? Doesn’t have to be a full one at all. I love looking at your screenshots, especially the historical world! Thanks for sharing your gameplay either way:3
Maybe someday I would consider that, but my mods folder is so disorganized and messy I wouldn't know where to start. I was looking around in there just now and there's a fair bit of stuff I've never used or I have no idea what it is, lol. What I can do is link you to a bunch of resources that I used to put together my mods folder, and you can probably cobble together something similar enough if you wanted to. I will say also I have two Sims 2 folders, one for my historical gameplay and one for my modern stuff. That's the best way to do it, don't clutter up and confuse your modern mods folder if you have one. So, anyway, resources under the cut:
The Keep. This is an absolute treasure trove and must have for historical content. It's more focused on medieval content than the regency stuff I have, but a lot of it is good for lower class sims and some of it just works in general. A lot of my default replacements for various things are from here somewhere, including my default food. I use a lot of mods/content from the Sun and Moon sets to have functional farms/crafting. This is also where I got my mods for the gongs and my sims having to fetch water for baths/washing dishes. There are also medieval career replacements here. I used to use them but I'm slowly phasing in some career replacements I'm working on with some friends which are more 19th century/regency appropriate. I've released some of the ones I finished but many others are wip or include other people's work which I don't want to release early/without crediting them properly.
Almighty Hat. Brilliant creator who has all kinds of goodies. They make tons of furniture/recolors. My favorite content of theirs though is their default replacements. They replaced so many little things like the little shovels that sims use to clean litterboxes, or replacing the water balloons with pig bladders, etc. Definitely a must for any historical player.
Simbury. This creator is super nice and outrageously talented. Most of my regency specific stuff is made by her. Just.. gorgeous clothes, furniture, bonnets, etc. I cannot recommend her content enough. And she has a sims story on her blog, which is very good and I fully recommend as well.
y2sims. I use the new hair system and I have almost all of this person's hairstyles. Some of my hairs are from the Keep or Hat's website if I can't find them in the NHS textures, I'll just use the four pooklet colors that are in the NHS and try not to cringe too much at the shiny textures lol.
Default database. I've used this to find defaults for skins, eyes, clothes, etc. Especially for clothes, a lot of the defaults on the keep are medieval specific so this is a good place to find more regency-ish defaults. I also have some default face templates from here. I pick and choose depending on which templates I like. Some I just use the maxis template, some I use the hauntingly beautiful templates I made, and some I've taken from a set on the default database.
Cindy's site. This is still a fantastic list of some basic quality of life script mods that eliminate some annoying elements of the game. I personally use no hobby stalkers from MTS rather than the enthusiasm overhaul she lists here. My script mods aren't an exact copy of this but it's pretty similar. I think cyjon and simlogical are linked here. I use many of the same cyjon mods as cindy and I use the brothel mod by cyjon for my woohoo workers.
I'll also just link this guide as well. I don't use teen pregnancy/teen woohoo in my modern game because.. yuck. And it's not like teens are getting married in the modern age. But for my historical gameplay it was more common, so I do use this load order since I don't have inteen. RCC is specifically what allows my teens to get pregnant and I use a hack from MTS so they can wear any outfit, and I don't have to dl teen maternity.
I'll mention a couple of other things down here too. A lot of my build/buy stuff I've used is from the bespoke build set, georgian build set, and manor house sets on modthesims. I also have a fair bit of content from cashcraft, vitasims, and msbarrows on tsr. They're all excellent creators but I recommend getting it through the booty as tsr is not a user friendly or ethical website. In general you can also just google "sims 2 regency" or "sims 2 victorian" and find pinterest boards and lists of cc that are along similar lines and include a lot of the cc that I'm using. I'm also not a history expert and if you're very niche about for example, wanting your game to be set in 1803 and refusing to use anything that doesn't fit that year, it might be harder to find content rather than if you're a clueless lump like me and grabbing anything that looks antique-ish and any cute outfit even if the date is a little off. Regardless, I'm glad to see any new historical simmers and hope to see some of your content!

Hey! I've written a few tutorials for the Sims 2 community on Reddit, and thought some of them might help on here too.
reddit(.)com/r/sims2help/w/tutorial-corner
The tutorials themselves are in Imgur albums, which I can also provide direct links for if the website is hard to use (which it def is on mobile browsers 🙄). I'm giving permission for you to directly link to them, repost them on Tumblr or wherever, rewrite them, remake them, whatever. Do what you want if they're helpful in any way 👍
I've also written a gargantuan guide to aesthetic modifications, which can be found here: reddit(.)com/r/sims2help/w/aesthetic-guide
The same goes. If any part of it helps, take it and treat it as your own (or not?) 😁 There's other stuff available on the subreddit, but it isn't written by me, so I'd have to ask for the others' permission.
In any case, thank you for making this marvellous database and I hope you're having a nice day!
Thanks for sharing! We'll definitely go through and update the database 🔥⭐

20 rustic wooden roof recolors in @dramallamadingdang‘s wood colors. I made these for my own game and thought I’d share! The preview is unedited, but I’m using the roof shader fix, so if you’re not using that one, the colors will look considerably darker in your game. Some of the colors look rather similar, so you might not want to keep all of them. I didn’t make a swatch, since I’m sure everyone knows what iCad’s colors look like.
These are not basegame compatible, you need at least one expansion pack for them to work. The GUIDs are randomly generated due to the Database being down -- chances of conflict are tiny, but I’m mentioning it just to be sure.
These are for Sims 2 only!
DOWNLOAD
@peppermint-ginger I saw you were annoyed about there not being enough roofs with non-white trims -- maybe you’ll like these?

tye’s Oblivion Middle Class Furniture and Deco - Slaved
Ever since the GUID database went down I felt like it was time to look at old CC and see if it can be improved in any way. This is the eight part of a project that aims to repository, fix and improve old CC. If anyone knows of an old set that deserves a little bit of repository love, let me know. I definitely take requests ;) (though they might take a while to be uploaded as my schedule is erratic).
It’s Sinterklaas again, which means presents! This is part of  my Sims 2 Advent Calendar.
So, tye. Well, what to say about tye? She did convert a lot of stuff from both Oblivion and Skyrim, but well, she definitely cut corners a lot. Objects with 5 subsets, things being unrecolorable, shading issues and other weirdness is unfortunately quite commonplace in her objects. So, I took it upon myself to fix them to make them more use-able, as there’s some very nice stuff.
Anyways, enough about tye, let’s talk about this set. I fixed most of tye’s middle class set.  Some things haven’t been fixed/slaved yet as they’re a bit more complex, but this set contains most of it.
You get the wooden furniture (slaved to table 02; the round one). This slaved version is somewhat different from tye’s originals, as there’s only one and not 2 to 4 textures. This means some little metal details have been lost, but it’s a small sacrifice for repository. You also get a full set of pooklet recolors for this set.
I also fixed some clutter. You get all the clay and pewter pottery, the paintings, tapestries and crates. These come in all the original recolors (not shown). All the wall deco is AL-shiftable and the clay and pewter stuff have correct object sizes for OFB.
Like always, everything is compressorized. You get two collection files (one for deco, one for furniture). Previews are included. I also included tye’s middle class bedding for convenience.
Download Mirror
Credits: Bethesda for the original meshes and textures tye for the original conversions The PBK Discord for their support and patience. You’re awesome.

Hi there! Recently been playing the Sims 2 like crazy and I’ve been looking up CCs that looked maxis match and stumbled upon your wonderful creations/conversions. Speaking of which, I’m having a hard time finding tutorials on how to convert sims 4 objects to sims 2 (which is apparently easier than clothes, so kudos to you
Hi! Thank you! Keoni has a nice tutorial about converting objects! The only difference is that the GUID database is not working anymore, so you have to manually randomize a guid (as it is explained here) Good luck! :)
