Trouble Getting Blazeburg To Export From Create A World For Some Reason

Can anyone here or at the Sims Forum help me with this? 

I do not know why it won’t export, but I need to export it again, not just for when it comes time to release the next version, but so I can play test it now and the changes that I made in the meantime, including those new builds that CJ created for me.  It worked when I created a small test map and told it to export that.  It worked than, so clearly it has something to do with the map.  Can someone please help me with this?

Things I think sims 4 is getting wrong that they should do better next time

The system of controlling characters across multiple locations. Literally the worst it's been in any Sims game so far. I get the tradeoffs, but this is not it. Heavily discourages large households (since you can't control them all at the same time if you want to make use of the fun stuff you can do in locations other than home).

The ridiculous amount of mechanics that impact Nothing outside of themselves. Shoutout to university "guest lectures" that do Absolutely Nothing. You don't get a skill-up, you don't get a trait, you don't get an object, you get NOTHING. Other than for the aspiration, there is literally no reason to ever go there, ever. And think of the lost opportunity in not being allowed to invite a stay over guest to be a roommate instead of joining the household??? And the teenagers "running away to a party" with 0 impact on anything??? Sims 4 has an amazing diversity of things to do, especially if you have all the expansions, but way too many of them are complete nothingburgers. Special shoutout to the lack of interrelation between expansions (the skills high school should teach but doesn't for no in-universe reason...), but really, this is an overall problem.

The aging mechanics. And I don't mean the part where you can age up any time even if you have auto-aging on (though I think that's wrong too). I mean the part where instead of giving you extra time to get ahead on the next life stage, all life stages before young adult (used to be before teen, then they introduced teen aspirations) turn into a race to Collect All The Shinies Before You No Longer Can. The Top-Notch traits, as rewarding as they feel, make large households completely unfun as the gameplay is fully eaten by trying to make sure all three of your triplets get all of them. Similarly for child aspirations: completing all of them gives you a ridiculous advantage for the rest of your life, and they are not mutually exclusive, and you get just enough time in the standard lifespan to complete all of them. Oh, there are other fun child mechanics? Voidcritter battles? Festival of Youth? Sorry, no time for that, too busy trying to get a high score on the typing simulator.

Overall, this is a problem with the aspiration system. You can pursue any amount of them at the same time by switching around as you go about your life, and there's no reason to ever stop. In Sims 2 once a sim completed their lifelong aspiration they were happy for the rest of their life and you'd only need to stay on top of their needs. Which would mean you can have them have kids and focus on those kids, leaving adults to the background. (I don't remember Sims 3 well because it slowed my PC down to a crawl, so while I have happy memories, I don't think I explored it anywhere near as thoroughly) In Sims 4 you can play a single sim until you're thoroughly sick of the game (which isn't helped by the other points on this list) and there's never a reasonable ending point, because instead of transitioning into a graceful endgame state, aspirations just incentivize playing the same sim more and more to make optimal use of their rewards. The optimal way to play is to make your sim a jack of every single trade they ever touch at once. They want to read a book? Quick, switch to the Renaissance Sim aspiration! The necessity to switch between aspirations to have actions register is especially awkward - you can't just live your life and ignore the bonuses you're accruing in the background, no you have to actively OPTIMIZE. (Special shoutout to the design of some aspirations, like the Sulani one not accounting for native people who were born there at all, but considering I think the whole system should be reworked, I won't go into that lol)

This is a minor complaint, but the traits system? Kind of sucks. They had it right when they started introducing also Lifestyles, Likes and whatever else. (Character values are also fun, but then they transition into traits on age up, which adds to the problem). Reward traits should not be lumped in with personality traits, and store-bought traits should not be lumped in with aspiration rewards and neither should be lumped in with age-up rewards. (Which I have a problem with, as I already said, but that's a different thing) Seeing the "the most interesting sim in the world" achievement pop up after buying up half the reward store is just sad, especially when they are the same traits all your other sims have, because "fast cleaner", "waterproof" and "storm chaser" are just practical. And the former two are not personality traits. They're superpowers. Make a separate superpower category and put things there, okay?

Back to family gameplay for another go (it was my favorite in earlier games so I'm super salty), a lack of interaction options. Toddlers can only play with each other if you have a (huge, expensive, extremely unwieldy without mods) dollhouse??? Infants can't interact with each other at all, even as they're already crawling??? Neither can play with random objects that aren't toys??? The toddler jungle gym doesn't allow communal play, every toddler for themselves??? This is just straight up half assed. Children can't play in a group unless you buy an object that enables it??? The family gameplay in sims 4 is absolutely pathetic. It was from the start, when they didn't even have toddlers, but even introducing toddlers AND infants didn't fix it. You can do an immense amount of things in Sims 4... as long as you're only playing adults.

Anyway, they should make a separate RPG gameplay mode, where the superpowered sims you have made can lightsaber fight, explore treacherous jungles, snoop through an abandoned laboratory and whatever else with an HP bar, attack options and whatnot. The game wants it. The game YEARNS for it. You can be a soldier as an at-home career, and all you do is train and yell at other people? There's an object specifically to train in martial arts, but it just gives you regular fitness? There are vampires and werewolves in this game! (And both are presented as dangerous, except I haven't seen a single werewolf ever do anything more than annoy me by making my sim "cower in fear" by transforming in a public place and then just kind of hanging out there)

Also, fix all the bugs and botched interactions. I tried to have my character schedule a birthday party for the next day at their parents' place, and you know what happened when the time came? Nothing. I traveled to their place, and still nothing. I had to cancel the party and make a new one without scheduling. This is so much bullshit.

I blame windows 10 for all my sims 3 crashing problems because windows 7 never disrespected me like yes the sims 3 crashes every once in awhile but I get constant fucking crashes depending on the saves I play and it pisses me off, like please I've done all the fixes what more do you want from me 😭😭 I miss my windows 7 computer and being able to play the sims 3 all day without a single crash

Augggghhh! Why Me?!? (Computer Woes Again 🤣)

I don't know if anyone knows this, but I've been plagued by computer woes going back to 2019. Everything was fine, but then I lost my hard drive and lost six months of work in the process (as well as several years of photography).

Then I started having trouble with sound and all my WIPs for two years because of a combination of glitches and system configurations that didn't work well with my setup.

Then this past week, it happened again! I noticed my computer acting weird, with heavy usage spikes in Task Monitor. Remembering the horror show of the past, I immediately bought two (yes, two!) external hard drives, and backed everything up.

Literally, on the day I received my second external drive, I launched TS3. It froze, and that was it. I shut the computer down and now it won't even post. I just get a mocking little white indicator light that says "CPU." This is just when I had found the energy to finally complete San Marina and whip up a new YouTube video featuring Pottersville. Always seems as if when I'm in the groove of things, this stuff happens.

Now, I don't believe I lost the drive. I think it's the mobo, because I've always had trouble with it from the start. So, I'm getting a new mobo. Till now, I will have to futz around on my current machine, which is less powerful than the one I've been building worlds in.

I'm really nervous right now, because I don't know whether it's a hard drive, mobo or CPU issue. If it's a mobo issue, then the new mobo will fix everything. If it's a CPU issue, then I have to buy a new one, which will delay San Marin. If it's a hard drive issue, then I lost several hours of work on San Marina, which will set me back after making so much progress. Needless to say, pretty much feeling like this right now:

Color Theory Legacy Challenge

Do you like color? Do you like legacy challenges that switch things up each generation? Do you like family cozy gameplay AND spicy dramatic gameplay?

Well, then this is the legacy challenge for you! Inspired by classic legacy challenges like the Not So Berry Challenge by @lilsimsie and @alwaysimming and Such Colorful Lives by @thepanplumbob, this legacy challenge is a ten generation legacy challenge where each generation's goals and personality are based on the color theory of their assigned color!

General Rules: 1. Normal Lifespan recommended 2. Each Heir must represent the color of their generation BUT Berry sims are not required (Though feel free to use them if you want!) 3. Keep money cheats to a minimum! 4. Each heir must complete their required Careers and Aspirations unless specifically stated otherwise 5. Each heir can be any of the previous heir's children, no matter the birth order, unless specifically stated otherwise

Generation One: White - The Beginning White symbolizes innocence, purity, and beginnings... People call you innocent… naive… But that’s not really the case. You know exactly how cruel the world can be so you strive to make it a better place. You pour yourself into your career and your children and your marriage, determined to spend your life helping others and to raise children that help others, too.Your house is always sparklingly clean and there’s always a hot meal on the table and an extra bed (or sleeping bag or couch) for sims who need it.

The problem is you just can't seem to decide which sim owns your heart! You have a couple lovers as a teen before finally settling down with your soulmate and raising a family together.

You’re more of a hot-head, and tell it like it is. This means you make a lot of enemies. Who cares about Enemies when you have lovers? But none of those lovers are good enough for you, so you hop from one to the next, leaving a trail of broken hearts (and maybe one or two affair babies). For all your romantic exploits, your true love is the stage. You want to see your name up in lights!

Traits: Hot-Headed, Mean, Romantic

Aspiration: Villainous Valentine

Career: Actor

Generation Four: Brown - The Steadfast Farmer Brown is the color of strength and reliability. You’ve never gotten on too well with your parents. Neither of them were ever really around, so as the oldest, you sort of ended up as your younger siblings’ default parent. Of course, your grandparents did what they could to help, but they had their own lives. So, when you could, you found solace in animals. Animals aren’t like people, they don’t hurt you on purpose.  When you’re finally old enough, you take your younger siblings and ditch your parents, moving to the countryside to finally have some peace. There, you build up a farm, with livestock and horses, and, of course, a family that actually loves each other.

Traits: Animal Enthusiast, Rancher, Loyal

Aspiration: Country Caretaker

Career: None, make money off your crops, livestock, and nectar

Other Requirements:

MUST be the eldest child of the Red generation

Master Horse Riding, Gardening, and Nectar Making skills

Generation Five: Orange - The Childish Adventurer Orange symbolizes adventure and youthful passion. Okay, so you’re a bit of an oddball. Who cares? You delight in being unabashedly yourself! Your family was close knit, not just your parents and siblings, but your pets, cousins, and aunts and uncles as well, and they never tried to dull your sparkle. But the countryside, for all of its bucolic beauty, just doesn’t satisfy your love of adventure, so shortly after your adult birthday, you kiss your family goodbye and set off to see the world.

So, you find your outlets in tech and video games instead. The people in those circles don’t seem to care as much about your awkwardness.  And there, among zeros and ones and other geeks, you finally blossom, transforming into a sunny, bright person. You’ll never be especially social, but your small circle is enough for you.

Traits: Paranoid, Socially Awkward, Cheerful

Aspiration: Computer Whiz

Career: Tech Guru

Generation Seven: Green - The Eco-Conscious Hippie Green symbolizes nature and vitality but also jealousy. You never quite fit in with your family members. While your parents and sibling all had a similar passion for technology, yours is a bit more nature focused. In fact, you're a bit of a hippie. There's no shame in that!  As soon as you're old enough, you leave the smog and traffic of the city behind and move to Evergreen Harbor, hoping to live a greener life, only to come face to face with a community in sore need of a clean up.  You've never been one to back down from a challenge so you roll up your sleeves and get to work. Unfortunately, you spend so much time on your projects that you don't have time for love… until one day you notice everyone else seems to have gotten married and had kids, leaving you behind! Will you ever find the love you desire before it's too late?

Traits: Recycle Disciple, Freegan, Jealous.

Aspiration: Master Maker

Career: Freelance Crafter

Generation Eight: Blue - The Ocean-Loving Artist Blue symbolizes inspiration and creativity. You’ve always been a bit of a gloomy sim. Maybe that’s because Evergreen Harbor doesn’t have much scope for the imagination. It’s nice that the town is all cleaned up thanks to your parent, but you often find yourself at the docks, staring at the sea. Here, it’s gray and green and not much else. While you find the colors you love in the gems you collect and shape, you find yourself wishing you could see those colors in your beloved ocean. So, as soon as you’re able, you make your way to Sulani. But once there, you discover that the islands are in a sorry state. You’ve learned a thing or two about helping the environment from your parents, so you roll up your sleeves and get to work.

Traits: Creative, Gloomy, Child of the Ocean

Aspiration: Painter Extraordinaire

Career: Conservationist

You wouldn’t call yourself a mad scientist, in fact, you’re very sane. It’s not your fault people don’t appreciate your genius!

And you’ve always felt Death hovering at your side but maybe he’s not the enemy you thought he was…

My Favorite Downloadable Sim Creators!

If you are anything like me, you end up putting a lot of effort into your main character sim, but don't really have the energy to create the rest of the town. The townies the game creates just don't fit the world you created in your head, so you end up disappointed. Well, a great solution is downloading other people's amazing sims and using MCCC to populate them in your town! No more random ugly townies, now you have pretty people with their own stories! Here is my list of favorite sim creators (in no particular order) and a brief description about what they make:

@wildfairies (Tag/Patreon) - Maxis-Match, CC-Mid. Makes a nice blend of regular and occult sims. They all look unique and pretty without being too overly detailed or distracting while playing! Most available sims have one outfit each.

@sunnyssimming (Tag/Patreon) - Maxis-Mix, CC-mid. Makes gorgeous female sims (and one guy). She makes mostly Maxis-Match, but some hair or makeup might dip into the alpha category. Available sims have one outfit each.

@m0ckest (Tag/Patreon) - Maxis-Match, CC-Free (she has a page with default replacements she uses if you want the sims to look one-to-one). She releases townie makeovers, brand-new sims, and lots. I'm honestly pretty impressed with how good her sims look without using CC!

@pearlean (Tag/Patreon) - Maxis-Match/Custom Art Style, CC-Mid/Heavy. She has her own art style which I would say is closest to something like Telltale's Walking Dead game, which is aided by her beautiful GShade preset. Some base sims and some with one outfit.

@nikatyler (Tag/Patreon) - Maxis-Match, CC-Lite. If you want a full catalog of available sims, you'll want to check her out (seriously, 29 pages of Sims 4 downloads alone, and she has stuff for Sims 3 as well). She has townie makeovers, brand-new sims, lots, and a good mix of regular and occult sims! Most downloads have all outfits included.

@seyvia (Tag) - Maxis-Mix, CC-Mid/Heavy. She has a more cartoony art style with large eyes and expressive faces, which is right up my alley! She has also remade the Stardew Valley bachelors/bachelorettes and even has some CC-Free downloads. Downloads have all outfits included.

@puppycheesecake (Tag) - Maxis-Match, CC-Mid. They have some really creative ideas for sims, with a lot of horror/occult/fantasy-inspired ones (although there are plenty of regular sims, too!) Some downloads have all outfits, some have one, but it is labelled which is which on each sim.

@youngcozyboy (Tag) - Maxis-Mix/Alpha, CC-Heavy. Anime/cartoon-influenced, with some more NSFW downloads/pictures sprinkled in there. They have a large catalog of downloads/townie makeovers and plenty of fantasy-inspired sims (which is something I always love to see). They are Korean, so you'll have to rename the sims once you've downloaded them if you don't speak it, but that isn't a big deal. Also, their screenshots are so expressive and pretty, it really captures each sim's personality! Most sims have one outfit included.

@ladychaos (Tag/Patreon) - Maxis-Match, CC-Lite/Free. She has her own save file that you can download and use, but she also posts everything to the gallery and her Patreon! Her lots and households all have a cozy look/feel to them and have their own stories to tell. I particular love her Strangerville ones! All downloads have all outfits included.

@bansheeso (Tag/Patreon) - Maxis-Match/Mix, CC-Mid. If you are looking for some pretty occult boys (and one girl), then she is the person to go to. I love populating my town with some occult/fantasy sims, so her creations are great for my world! Their household names are in Ukrainian, but that's not a problem since they can easily be renamed. Each download has one outfit.

@fallstaticexit (Tag) - Maxis-Match, CC-Mid. Some nice looking townie makeovers along with some retired sims from their stories. Really solid additions to any world! If you do check her out, be sure to look at her Children of the Forest story, I'm very invested in it! Some come with all their outfits and some come with one.

@greglunvik (Tag/Patreon) - Maxis-Match, CC-Mid. He makes some great, unique-looking sims and makeovers. No same-face syndrome here, each sim has their own distinct face structure with some wrinkles, moles, and other details that I feel like get overlooked too often to make the most beautiful sim. Unique sims have one outfit and makeovers have all outfits. (Formerly @acuar-io but that blog is a personal one now. Many of his downloads are still on his main blog, but as he has said many times, please do not bother his main with sims stuff. Direct that to the greglunvik account)

@kharssims (Tag) - Maxis-Match, CC-Mid/High. He focuses on male sims and they look great! The perfect amount of facial details like wrinkles, freckles, and moles to keep them looking unique and like an actual person you could come across. Each download has one outfit.

@thebramblewood (Tag) - Maxis-Match, CC-Lite/Mid. While they may not have a huge catalog, I think that they have a great selection of maxis-match sims, both makeovers and originals, to choose from. My personal favorite of theirs is Bridget Bledsoe from their Occult Sim Dump! Each sim has one outfit.

@occultradio (Tag) - Maxis-Match, CC-Mid. They don't make sim downloads often, but I love the ones they have available so much. Their Mothman is one of my favorite sims in my entire gallery!

@mothelette - They don't have their sims up for download, but I gotta point out the witchcraft they perform to make their beautifully-stylized sims. Their creations are amazing.

@nefarrilou - They don't have their sims up for download, but they do create beautiful lookbooks. Occults, townie makeovers, and recreations of popular characters in media, they'll have something you'll enjoy!

Default Replacement Wagons and Carriages for Sims 3

This is a set of default replacement wagons and carriages for Sims 3. They're based on my earlier conversions of Hexameter's Farm Wagon and @notsooldmadcatlady's Medieval Carriage which use Dragonslave horses, converted by Kyrie with @danjaley's texture edit. Thanks again to these creators for their work!

No More Sims Driving Cars in Dragon Valley!

Hexameter's Farm Wagon replaces the Yomoshoto Evasion and Tofunda Wagon and Notsooldmadcatlady's Medieval Carriage replaces the VFN Kompensator and Margaret Vaguester.

These four cars are the ones the game gives to inactive sims, along with the Sloppy Jalopy and Big Lemon.

Danjaley has already made default replacements for the Sloppy Jalopy and Big Lemon and for the taxi. So if you install this set of default replacements alongside danjaley's, you should only see sims driving carriages and wagons in the background of your game.

These versions of the Farm Wagon and Medieval Carriage are significantly lower poly than the original non-default versions:

This is at the upper end of the range of normal for EA car meshes but I haven't experienced any lag or problems with them.

Hi everyone!　First of all, I must apologize. Regarding my previous post about "Victorian Sunset Valley", I deleted it because there was a problem with the save file. There is no problem with the empty world.

I'm really sorry to all the simmers who downloaded, liked, reblogged and commented.

It seems that the problem can be solved by separating the save files, so I decided to share it again. There are no changes to the empty world, so if you have it, please try again.

❖Empty World There are just a Public Lots, a Farm District, and Goth Manor.The two hilltop mansions don't exist yet. This is Sunset Valley long before Mortimer Goth was born.If there is a historic town you have in mind, you are free to build it here.

※An empty world requires the store item "Artemis Temple Frieze (Muse Luxury)".

❖Save files You can enjoy the Victorian era right away, but there are no film careers, universities, or diving spots. There are a few empty plots, so feel free to add them.

This time, I did not build any houses. I only built some public lots, but I changed the color of the buildings I shared before and placed them. The Equestrian Center of EA is very conspicuous, so I built a small racetrack. There is a fire station of EA next to it, but it does not blend in with the scenery very well, so I am thinking of rebuilding it someday.

The address of @ri-el's Sherlock Holmes residence is 221B Baker Street. I wanted to place this residence on the main street, so I set the lot size specifically. Then I placed the lot built by @nornities to match the cafe next door and the stairs leading to the harbor across the road. The harbor is a bit of a tourist area, with trade ships, sightseeing ships, and passenger ships arriving and departing. Some Sims may come to see the steamships, so I prioritized placing it here. There are also lots of great builds by other creators included. Thank you.

Every house has some sort of vehicle (either a horse-drawn carriage or a historic bicycle), and the sight of so many carriages going around town is truly impressive!

It looks heavy, but if you can play the EA Store worlds then I don't think it will be an issue.

Basically, it is a town for enjoying historical play such as the Victorian or Edwardian, but I think it can also be enjoyed in normal play.

The decoration is minimal, so feel free to edit it however you like and have fun.

Tomiko: "Tomiko is a girl who didn't need a home with walls or windows - the roof to her 'home' has always been the sky above." (pauses, mutters to themselves) Ooh that's a good one! Wait, people will think i live in the woods, no? Wouldn't that be the dream…

(moment of silence as Tomiko daydreams, then remembers she just started recording)

"Tomiko doesn't have many friends, because she was destined to be a free-spirited loner. With the exception of Clarisse, a girl who dreams ofbecoming a marine biologist. Clarisse was made fun of by strangers on a dumb internet show she went to one day, all because she wanted to win the money and go on a trip to Sulani. Now everyone calls her the 'Dolphin Girl'. After Tomiko decided to console her at lunch in school, both of them ended up bonding over their crazy obssession with nature. They've been inseparable friends ever since."

(another pause, followed by an audible sigh)

"Well, they were inseparable, until Tomiko moved away. Now Clarisse is being weird for no reason... anyways, where was i?

(forgets why they went on a Clarisse tangent and starts to fumble with their unorganized notes)

"Oh yes, destined to be a free-spirited loner, ya-da ya-da. Unfortunately, Tomiko was forced to live in a boring house made of bricks, with white furniture, and a mom who was always mad about her muddy boots on the carpet."

(voice shifts to mimic the mom's screech)

- I'm not gonna raise a savage wild child! Since you love dirt so much, go live with your bum of a father in that Strangerplace world, or whatever it's called.

"Best thing to ever happen to me!" (voice switches to normal accidentally, then goes back to the fake deep one) - I mean - best thing to ever happen to Tomiko! Even though her dad looks kinda weird lately, walking around aimlessly at night in search of his mother. Classic dad, being a weirdo. No idea how this man got married..."

- Dad, I told you grandma still lives in Willow Creek. Why do you think she's in the middle of the desert? Also, she wouldn't be caught dead wasting away her fabulous heels in this god-forsaken place.

"Tomiko pretends she doesn't see it, because now she can do whatever she wants, why complicate things? The only problem is, there isn't much to do in Strangerville with the infection rumors going on, and all the damn sus soldiers. Also, the taste of travelling for the first time has left her wanting to see more. Imagine all the bugs she could find?! But you need money for that, sooo… what to do, what to do…"

(voice returns to normal, a bit defensive)

"Okay, fine, I'm the one recording this… (sighs) I know what you're thinking - "just steal from your dad!". Seriously, who do you think I am? Anyways, I did something else instead. I heard there's this competition with other teens where you get to travel the world, and guess what? I signed up for it! Without my parents knowing, of course, but that is irrelevant. They won't even notice I'm gone, I fear. I just hope the organizers don't ask for their permission, because Clarisse was the one who knew how to fake signatures, but now she's hanging out with other kids at school, and thinks she's better than me."

(inhales, then proceeds to speak loudly at a wall, probably)

"Like... Nina? The enemy? Be so for real right now Clarisse! My life is just grand without you! I'll get to travel the world and educate people on how bugs are friends, and definitely NOT disgusting or too dangerous! Well, most times. I'll also prove that even if you're a weird bug loving kid like me, you can still have a chance at a game that requires you to make friends. It'll be eaaasy! In a few weeks I'll be like, Clarisse who? Hahah!"

(brief pause on their flex-rant, which is totally NOT a defense mechanism because she's hurt by them growing apart. They return, slightly worried)

"Do you think I can die in there? Cause gosh, let's hope not! Imagine going on an adventure of a lifetime and not being able to tell people about your heroic deeds... that'd be so lame! Anyways, I'll see you when I see you, whoever is listening to this… Tomi out!"
