Yes do tell the story of the ring! We are a bit behind in Holland (sister wives-wise lol) but from what I've heard Christine told a story about Meri and now Meri is pissed?

Yea so Christine recently told this story in one of the "one on one" episodes (I wish they'd just call them Tell Alls but w/e) and Meri got mad because she said it wasn't a story she wanted to be public. But people realized afterward that this story had also been told by the lady who catfished Meri and Janelle, who mentioned it in an interview before Christine so.........idk if she just didn't know about that or she just needed to take some of her anger out on Christine or what.

Here's what happened: So when Kody and Meri first got legally married, they exchanged rings as one does and Meri got Kody a gold band with maybe some diamonds in it? And he wore it for years, even after he married Janelle and Christine, it just kind of functioned as his all-inclusive wedding band and he and Meri considered it to be a special symbol of their relationship.

So this next part is the version told by Christine and Meri and disputed by Robyn: Apparently around the time Kody was getting ready to marry Robyn, he just stopped wearing the ring all of a sudden, and when Meri noticed she understandably was like "hey where the hell is my ring" to which he said, "oh, I melted it down and saved the gold and the diamonds". Robyn says this happened waaaaay after before (i had to edit that my bad) she came into the picture though (spoiler alert, you can see Kody wearing the ring in the first episodes of the show while he's dating her so. She's lying.)

Christine says he told her that he did this because he "didn't want to feel like Meri had any power over him" anymore (which ??????). Another way Meri phrased it was that he didn't want to feel like she had any "claim" on him, and that was all the detail they went into. But according to Janelle, he used the gold and diamonds to make rings to give to some of his daughters, idk for what occasion. All of this was seven years before Meri's catfishing incident btw, and she insinuated that it really contributed to her feeling lonely in her family.

So Meri was obviously extremely hurt by that because he didn't ask her or even warn her he was doing this, and each wife had their little special things with Kody and that one was hers. After that they started the Claddagh ring tradition where Kody wore one and so did all the wives, but according to Christine at some point before she left Kody stopped wearing the Claddagh ring and he and Robyn went out and designed a new one? So he wore that for a while, and then most recently he and Robyn were out shopping and he saw some ring with a horse on it and now he wears that one, which he's explicitly said is only a symbol of him and Robyn's commitment.

I think a big reason Meri got mad is that before Christine told the story, she and the interviewer (Suki) were talking about the aforementioned stupid horse ring and laughing at it, and Meri for some reason took that as Christine laughing at her (imo she wasn't at all). Christine was already being asked questions about rings and probably though the story was fair game since it's been told before.

Anyway, I just think Meri was really embarrassed/hurt and didn't know what to do with all of it. And honestly, for me, it's hard to fault her for that because what a fucking awful, humiliating, belittling thing to do to someone who's supposed to be your spouse.....just from the stories we know about, Kody has treated her like absolute garbage and I think any sane person would have a hard time knowing how to deal with that.

Thanks to discovery plus merging with hbo I now have access to all seasons of sister wives. I’ve only send a couple episodes so I’m excited to start from the beginning and watch all of them.

What are some of your favorite moments and episodes in the show?

Oh man the shows been on for so long lol there are SO many...... I'm going to list them in kind of random order here, sorry:

I just got done watching the whole commitment ceremony debacle for the millionth time and I think that's peak classic Sister Wives lol. The show is still trying to paint them in a happy light even though there are glaring issues, Kody's a little less insufferable, and there's a ton of funny kid moments.

The first 2 seasons when Robyn comes in and they "flee" to Las Vegas are classic. Another instance where the show tries to be lighthearted but in hindsight, it was a very fucked up situation.

A personal favorite episode of mine is when they do the Q&A panel/debate with ex-polygamists at a college and Robyn gets heated. I imagine in real life the Browns probably got obliterated logically, but the show's edit makes it seem like the ex-mormons were bitter and the the debate ended in kind of a draw.

Another personal favorite moment is their road trip to the birthplace of Mormonism, Nauvoo, IL. There's a lot of silly drama that still makes me laugh out loud, and a lot of the kids are still young and fun to watch (I particularly remember Madison when the producers asked if she was excited being like "yea I don't want to go to Nauvoo").

Meri's catfishing arc is less funny but interesting to watch in hindsight, esp if you're at least vaguely familiar with how all that went down.

Leon coming out is my favorite feel good episode.

The weddings are all fun for me to watch except Mykelti's, that one really stresses me out. I also enjoy the earlier holiday episodes and watch them on holidays lol.

And then after that it's kind of a depressing blur until Christine leaves and we get to feel a little justice being served to Kody. I can't wait to see Janelle lay into him too in this next season.

Edit: oh also, the tell alls at the end of each season are always my favorite part!

Kody Brown’s Status With His Sister Wives: Where He Stands With Meri, Janelle and Robyn After Christine Split

Kody Brown’s relationships with Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown and Robyn Brown have all had their ups and downs — but many Sister Wives viewers were still shocked when he and his third wife called it quits.

TLC fans were introduced to the Brown family in 2010 when he was legally married to Meri and spiritually married to Janelle and Christine. The first season followed Robyn’s introduction to the group after 16 years of Kody’s established routine with his three other wives.

Kody is the father of 18 children total, legally divorcing Meri in 2014 to marry Robyn in order to formally adopt her three children from a previous relationship.

“We have chosen to legally restructure our family,” the Browns said in a statement to Us Weekly at the time. “We made this decision together as a family. We are grateful to our family, friends and fans for all their love and support.”

While Meri was on board with the plan, her relationship with Kody struggled post-divorce as she sought “companionship” from someone online and ended up being catfished. As tensions remained high, Kody admitted to Us in February 2021 that his relationship with his first wife had been in a “very dark place for a very long time” — but he wasn’t forcing her to stay.

“It’s been more about trying to get ourselves out of this hole that we dug ourselves into,” he told Us at the time. “I feel like [my wives] need to understand that — that they can leave. If it’s not working for them, they can leave. Nobody’s going to be a prisoner here.”

Several months later, Christine became the first wife to leave Kody.

“After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” she wrote via Instagram in November 2021. “We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family.”

He added in a statement of his own at the time: “Christine’s decision to leave comes with a great deal of sadness. We enjoyed many years together and I have a large amount of respect and admiration for her. Although we are moving forward on different paths, we will always remain committed parents.”

• Fan favorite because he's so wholesome and people wonder why he is on the show. He seems like a regular or even above average guy.

•In the final episode he disappeared and his s/o got swatted. The reason was that Satoru actually stole info and money from the Pentagon using his s/o's IP address.

• It's canon basically, but i will explain for u.

• Terrorism. Mass murder. And a DIU for good measure.
