I don't know if you've answered this question before, but do you have favorite Phantom/Christine pairings?

I have answered it before, but not too recently, so maybe it's time to make a big ole updated masterpost of all my favorites as of now!

Keep in mind that if a name isn't on here, it doesn't mean they're not a favorite or whatever, it might just mean I never saw them with a Phantom or Christine I particularly liked (e.g. Gina Beck is an all-time favorite but she's not on here because I never really saw her opposite a Phantom I also really enjoyed) or I preferred a slightly different pairing (e.g. I really liked Franc D'Ambrosio with Lisa Vroman but I slightly preferred the latter with Brad Little). And there may be one or two where I could not decide at all (e.g. do I prefer Kelly Mathieson with David Thaxton or Josh Piterman? I can't tell!). Anyway, here they are:

Michael Crawford/Sarah Brightman - The OG cast. It can't be helped, they both had such unique takes on the role and it makes them one of the most memorable pairings for me.

Dave Willetts/Jan Hartley Morris - His rougher take on the mold that Crawford left vs. Jan Hartley Morris's old-school, classical Christine is a winner.

Mikael Samuelson/Elisabeth Berg - I love Samuelson's slightly harsher vocals compared to Berg's operatic tones.

Alexander Goebel/Luzia Nistler - Goebel is eerie, ghostly, and unhinged at the end; Nistler has a lovely classical voice and a scared, slightly naive take on her Christine. It fits well.

Davis Gaines/Tracy Shayne - Gaines is commanding, sensual, elegant; Shayne is innocent but with a touch of maturity that brings a certain uniqueness to the role.

Saulo Vasconcelos/Irasema Terrazas - Hands! I think both were allowed a lot of freedom in the role and it's great.

Hans Peter Janssens/Ineke van Klinken - Janssens is both very nuts and very sad while van Klinken is a reserved yet steely-willed Christine who is more than a match for him.

Ian Jon Bourg/Alison Kelly - Bourg is good with so many Christines, but I loved Alison Kelly's feistiness.

Michael Nicholson/Olivia Safe - Just a fascinating pairing, and they were both understudies!

Yoon Young Seok/Hye Kyoung Lee - It didn't matter that both were speaking Korean, they were so emotional that I felt like I understood every aspect of their performance.

Brad Little/Lisa Vroman - Kind of mentioned above, but I love how well these two act together.

Hugh Panaro/Julie Hanson - Hugh Panaro is a sarcastic jokester of a man and it makes you really feel for Julie Hanson's child-like Christine at the end of the show.

Gary Mauer/Elizabeth Southard - A real-life married E/C couple brings all the chemistry!

Earl Carpenter/Rachel Barrell - Barrell is also really good with JOJ, and more spirited around him, but I love Earl Carpenter more.

John Cudia/Jennifer Hope Wills - Oh the sparks these two brought to the role! Cudia was scary and dominating but JHW was absolutely able to hold her own against him.

Simon Pryce/Julie Goodwin - The voices of these two!

Marcus Lovett/Anna O'Byrne - Leroux-accuracy heaven.

Jeremy Stolle/Samantha Hill - Again, I've seen these two give fantastic performances with multiple performers, but I really do love what they bring to the show together.

Tomas Ambt Kofod/Sibylle Glosted - Very detailed, nuanced performances in a production that was full of it.

Jonathan Roxmouth/Meghan Picerno - There was fire between these two! Roxmouth was intent on bending Christine to his will but Picerno was so fiercely independent that you knew he could never succeed.

Jeon Dong Seok/Son Ji-soo - JDS is a swoon-worthy Phantom while SJS brought lovely expressions to the role.

And I'm sure there are many others...

"the death and the strawberry 2"? "Ichika" means strawberry flower, meanwhile Kazui is the representative of "death". Like that's a million red flags right there.

I'm just so confused. Kazui is a weird OP fullbringer of some kind. As I've said, SS should be ALL over him. HOLLOWS should be all over him. The fact that his parents don't care that their toddler seems to be skipping through shady parts of town is highly concerning to me. I swear to god Orihime and Ichigo are NOT aware of their child's abilities. There's just no way they know. That makes it even creepier. Lock him up in a cage.

and also as I've mentioned, he and Hikone are essentially the same character, and Hikone is hell bent on killing people and becoming the Soul King or whatever ... and Kazui probably absorbed Yhwach into his body or something so...

Hi, I was doing a quest in SMT4 called "Slay the God of the Violent Winds" where a storm god asks to kill illuyanka, because he was defeated and illuyanka stole the god's eyes and heart, but it doesn't say what this god's name is. Would you know? I don't trust wikipedia to answer my question. Another question: was illuyanka associated with "violent winds", "violent water" and/or flooding rivers? The SMT's compendium leads one to believe so.

Many side quests in IV are remarkably accurate (not the Ishtar/Asherah one, though), and basically on par with SJ, and this is no exception! The god in mention is Tarhunna, the Hittite weather god - well, one of them, Hittites had dozens of weather gods. Still, that was the main one, and the one who generally showed up in myths - both in local ones and in translations of Hurrian myths, which in the original versions would instead star the Hurrian Teshub. Many online sources end up confused about this. A translation of the Illuyanka myth is available online here - it's old but the author, Gary Beckman, is pretty much the biggest Hittite expert in the world nowadays so you can safely assume it to be accurate. Beckman simply interprets Illuyanka as personifying forces of chaos (source), but there are many interpretations: "Suggestions include chaos and evil, winter, the Kaška tribes, and the lord of the underground waters" (quote from here). The compendium entry is pretty decent imo. There is also a depiction of the battle currently on display in Museum of Anatolian Civilizations in Ankara, there is a good photo of it here.

mamahtuh tipe manusia yang “katakan jujur tapi tidak semuanya.”

Bahkan mamah aja pernah ngomong langsung ke gue “teteh harus bisa bedain mana yang harus disampein ke mamah sama engga. Mamamhtuh suka nyampe stress dan kepikiran sama satu hal.”

Dan gue udah paham sama hal ini sejak gue SMA.

Gue seringgggg banget kayaknya nggak bilang kenyataan setiapkali mau pamit keluar. Bilangnya main sama temen. Gak bilang mau kemana kalo gak ditanya. Kalo ditanya jawabnya ke rumahnya.

Padahal gue explore alam. Main ke berbagai curug, ke cipanas, cibodas, taman bunga, bahkan ke bogor.

Kalopun lagi di kossan paling cuma nyapa satu dua patah kata doang. Gak bilang abis gimana dan ngapain aja. Nggak cerita abis melalui apa aja.

Tipe orangtua guetuh tipe-tipe orangtua kuno. Harus ada batasan garis yang jelas antara orangtua dan anak yang nggak bisa gue terobos secara sembarangan. Nggak kenal tuh namanya istilah orangtua jadi temen. Curhat sama orangtua, ngga ada. Bahkan sejak gue udah tau gimana caranya mikir, masalah yang gue hadapi 90% gue atasi sendiri. Ibaratnya gue saat ini cuma bergantung dalam segi finansial doang sama mereka. Sisanya gue yang atasi dan handle sendirian.

Tapi meski gitu, karena gue anaknya ceplas ceplos, kalo ada yang gak sesuai atau hal yang menurut gue gak masuk akal, gue ceplosin aja keluarin. Apalagi sama papap sih. Lebih sering karena beliau lebih open dan gue nyeplosinnya juga sering sambil bercanda tapi tetep gue selipin pesan moral dan uneg-uneg yang selama ini gue pendem juga.

Drama keluarga guetuh... kucing-kucingan gitu. Saling mendem perasaan tapi sering keselip beberapa yang udah gak muat lagi dipendem jadinya keluar. 

Setiap keluarga kan punya dramanya sendiri-sendiri yak. Gue nulis ini iseng aja buat cerita. Nggak menganggap hal ini sebagai aib karena gue merasa wajar-wajar aja kalo punya kekurangan dalam setiap aspek dan hal dalam kehidupan karena kan kita manusia???????????? kalo gak ada salah, kurang, butut, dosa, dan jelekmah kenapa gak jadi malaikat sj.

"Joe I can't do this." (Y/n) knotted her hands together but it did nothing to stop them from trembling as her whole body looked like it was being shaken like she was trying to wake herself up out of a nightmare. Her head turned to follow him as he walked around the room to try and make sure everything was packed and ready to go.

It wasn't going to work, (Y/n) knew something was going to go wrong. She would rather stay cooped up in this apartment for another month or more than try and leave to have a fresh start. She didn't know what kind of plan she thought they would come up with when the boys had agreed to help her get away from Ben, but this just didn't feel right.

(Y/n) had lived here all her life, she knew these streets and shops and roads and the people. Ben changed that when he walked into her life because he introduced her to new places and people and a different view on life. But now (Y/n) was going to leave all of this behind so that she could have a life that was better. A life where she didn't have to worry about making her other half upset or fear that she was going to get hurt or abused if she said or did the wrong thing. She wanted to be with Ben but she knew it wasn't the right thing to do.

Unclasping her hands, (Y/n) wrapped one arm tightly around her waist as she bit down on her thumb, looking at Joe with tears brimming in her eyes. She had changed her mind, she didn't want to go anymore.

"I don't want to go, I- I'll stay here-"

"(Y/n), listen to me," Joe rested his hands on her arms as he stood in front of her, a small smile on his lips that looked more sympathetic than anything. "If you stay he will find you, we need to get you away from here now so that you can be safe." Joe calmingly rubbed his hands up and down her arms to try and calm her down and give some sort of comfort but (Y/n)'s breaths started to hiccup and become shallow.

"W-what if I don't want to run forever?" (Y/n) knew that Ben wasn't going to stop looking for her or Rory and a life on the run wasn't something she was sure she could cope with. Always having to look over her shoulder and make sure she wasn't being followed or spotted. Giving herself and Rory new names and identities and a backstory, possibly being on the move to make sure she always stayed safe. It was too much of an anxiety-inducing state for her to cope with. "Let him find me, Joe please. I'll be okay with him I swear."

(Y/n) would go back to Ben.

She would take Rory and go back and be with him, she would bear any punishment he gave because she knew the truth. She couldn't outrun Ben forever and she didn't know if it was worth trying. Ben was never going to stop, he was the boss, he was in charge and he had such a possessive love for (Y/n) and Rory that would make him search for them for as long as it takes.

Being back with Ben would be so much easier than trying to live a life of independence on her own whilst always knowing she was going to be on the run for the rest of her life.

"I can't let you go back to him after what he did, for all we know he could kill you for this. You don't deserve to be trapped (Y/n), you have to go."

Joe tipped his head back to force the tears into the back of his head when (Y/n) pushed herself into his chest, needing some sort of comfort if she was really going to go through with this. In the beginning, Joe had felt admiration for Ben because he was ruthless but he never felt guilt or shame or fear. He was emotionless and he loved it, he had a gleam in his eyes whenever he hurt people or gained control and he was like no one else Joe had ever seen before. Joe wanted to be like him, he wanted to be able to turn off his emotions if he wanted and to be so sure of himself.

It had been a shock when Joe found out Ben had a girlfriend but when he realised Ben would punish (Y/n) like he did anyone else, he started to lose that admiration. He saw how (Y/n) feared the person she loved the most and it hurt to watch how Ben could break (Y/n) but then make her feel like he was the glue holding her together. When Rory came along, Joe was so sure that Ben would change because he was a father now. He thought Ben would love (Y/n) better and take care of his girls but he didn't.

When (Y/n) confided in Joe what had happened, he wanted to get her out straight away and that was exactly what he had done. She didn't deserve that and he wasn't letting Ben harm her again which was why he wasn't letting her back down on a chance to escape. She was scared and that was normal but she had to take this chance whilst she still had it.

When (Y/n) pulled back from Joe, she nodded her head as she took a deep breath, agreeing that she would go along with the plan to leave in the morning. In a few hours she would be heading on her way up to Scotland to be as far away from London and Ben as she could.

Moving round, (Y/n) slowly sat down on the edge of the bed and reached out for the knee brace Gwilym had brought her last night. She knew that if she wanted to get away considering Ben still had men at all corners to find her, she couldn't limp. Her dislocated knee was back in place but it was bruised and still swollen meaning she couldn't walk properly without pain. The brace would help her walk normally so she couldn't be detected. She was going to try and wear different clothes and pin her hair up beneath a hat so she couldn't be spotted as easily.

"What about Rory?" (Y/n) looked up at Joe once the brace was on her knee properly as she wondered about her baby girl.

The moment Rory had been placed into her arms, (Y/n) had felt like something had fitted into place. She had her daughter in her arms and Ben wrapping himself around her with emotions she had never seen him express before. Leaving Ben behind was going to be hard because he had commandeered her life for the past six years. But going with Rory meant (Y/n) would have that part of Ben with her, even if she should want to leave all of him behind.

The plan was for Joe to take (Y/n) up to a coach stop in the early morning and she would go up to Scotland that way on her own without Rory. It would be safer if she went on her own so none of Ben's workers would detect her because they would be looking for a fragile, scared girl with a newborn baby trying to leave the city.

"When we know you're safe up in Scotland, we'll wait a day and then one of us will bring her up to you I promise." When they knew that (Y/n) had reached the new apartment okay and she hadn't been followed or spotted, either Joe or Gwilym would take the drive up there and take Rory to (Y/n). It was safer this way and there were fewer chances of being spotted or found out.

"I don't want to leave her behind." (Y/n) commented quietly, turning to reach out for the small blanket resting on the bed. Holding it tightly in her hands as she brought it to her face, closing her eyes as she buried her face into the soft fabric. She didn't dare tell Joe that the blanket was the one Ben had given to Rory because he wanted her to leave every memory of Ben behind, but she couldn't.

(Y/n) didn't want to go without Rory, even if it was only going to be for one day. She wanted to go on that coach with Rory settled on her lap sound asleep. She wanted to be able to cuddle her on the long journey and take comfort knowing that she had gotten away with her baby girl and was going to start a new life, just the two of them. Going on her own wouldn't feel right because (Y/n) had never gone anywhere like this on her own before, especially not since she got together with Ben.

Gwilym had taken Rory back to his place an hour ago so that (Y/n) wouldn't be tempted to back out of the plan or try and take Rory with her on the coach because it was safer if she went alone.

"Hey, you're not leaving her behind, you're just getting there first." (Y/n) leaned her head on Joe's shoulder when he sat down next to her and wrapped his arm around her shoulders. He didn't want her to go, he didn't want her to be walking out of his life with such a distance between them because Joe wanted to keep her safe. He wanted to look after her and Rory and make sure they were okay, he wanted them both in his life. But Joe knew this was the best thing for all of them.

"Boss... you need to come to your office, it's urgent."

Ben's head snapped in the direction of the doorway when one of his men's voices broke him from his thoughts. Ben was just about to bestow another punishment onto the man cowering in front of him, quaking in his boots as he had no new information to give. No one had gotten in touch with Gwilym or Joe and Ben was beginning to realise that both men must have something to do with his girls disappearing. Ben needed them in the club so he could break them and get his girls back because he couldn't take this much longer.

His eyes narrowed as he felt like shouting at the interruption but when he looked at the man's nervous face, he saw a look in his eyes that wasn't fear or worry, it was something else that Ben couldn't place.

With a sigh, Ben unravelled the white tape from around his knuckles that were just about to pummel into Gary's face. He let the tape fall to the concrete floor before he turned and headed over to the door, pointing his hand at Gary in a silent signal for him to stay exactly where he was and not move.

Silence enveloped the two men as they walked down the corridor, turning left before turning left again to reach Ben's office. He had no idea what was happening but he knew he didn't like surprises or suspense so this had better be good. Ben hated to be interrupted and he was about to break another one of his men to try and find out information, if this wasn't worth it then the man in front of him was going to get punished as well.

"What are we here for?" Ben sighed through the words as he folded his arms over his chest, looking at the man in front of him whose name escaped Ben's memory. He was standing in front of the door to the office like he didn't want Ben to go inside, but the moment Ben spoke, the man opened the door and moved out of the way to allow the boss inside.

Shaking his head, Ben sighed through gritted teeth as he barged into his own office and slammed the door behind him. His eyes scanned around the room, unsure what he was looking for or what he was supposed to find but when his eyes landed on the person in the room, a sparkle lit up his pupils.

"Where the fuck have you been?" Ben spoke with a gleam in his tone as his eyes seemed to turn cold, his smile turning bent and crooked as he reached into his waistband and grabbed his gun. He aimed the weapon directly at Gwilym's head, chuckling when Gwilym shivered and took a step back, clearly not expecting this kind of welcome. It had only been two days since Gwilym had last seen Ben but he had clearly been missed.

Gwilym closed his eyes for a second like he was waiting for a bullet to embed into his skull, but when he opened his eyes he took a long breath. He was doing this, he couldn't go back now, it was far too late.

Saying absolutely nothing, Gwilym simply took two steps to the left to be out of Ben's firing line and to reveal what he was hiding behind him. He watched with wide frantic eyes as Ben's smile disappeared and the gun was dropped onto the desk when he looked at the baby carrier resting on the chair behind the desk.

Rory.

Gwilym had brought his baby girl back to him. Surely he wouldn't have done this if he had been helping (Y/n) to get away from Ben.

It felt like all the air had left his lungs as he stumbled over to the carrier, his eyes glistening with tears as he looked down at Rory. Ben had a black heart and everyone who knew him knew that, but there was something about Rory that seemed to bring tears to his eyes and a feeling of love in his heart. The only other person who was able to do that was (Y/n).

He was careful when he gently picked the two-month-old girl out of the carrier, his heart clenching in his chest at the knowledge that she looked different and she was heavier than when he last held her. He had missed out on a month of her life because (Y/n) stole her away from him. He would never hurt his girl. Ben leaned his head against Rory's as her small hand curled around his shirt. When she made a small cooing noise Ben felt his chest quaking as he could hardly breathe.

"Where did you find her?" Ben kissed the top of her head as he gently bounced her up and down in his arms, turning around so he was looking at Gwilym who didn't know whether to relax or go on red alert. He couldn't tell whether Ben was calmed down or if he was raging on the inside.

"Me and Joe spotted her the other day in the street and followed her. We tried to talk to her and get her to come back but she scarpered, Joe's trying to find her but I took Rory and brought her here." Gwilym had the story planned out in his head for when Ben wanted him to go into as much detail as he could manage. Right now he knew the boss didn't want the whole thing explained out because he was too focused on his baby girl being back in his arms, but he would want the detailed version soon and Gwilym had it ready.

"You can go now, but I want Joe here within the hour and if he doesn't have (Y/n) with him, you're both in trouble."

Gwilym was being let off for now, he could see in Ben's eyes that he was thankful for having his little girl back in his arms again and he was letting Gwilym have an hour off now before he and Joe needed to come back.

A smile pulled at Ben's lips when he looked down at Rory who looked up at him with an open-mouthed, toothless grin that made his heart beat faster.

"S'alright baby, you're back with me now."

"What the fuck have you done?!" Joe whispered the words in an angered, betrayed tone of voice as he shook his head at Gwilym who almost looked guilty for what he had done to them all.

Joe turned his head and scanned his eyes down the hallway, making sure (Y/n) wasn't coming out of her bedroom yet because he didn't want her overhearing what had happened. They were so close to getting her away from here and now Gwilym had gone and ruined it all by betraying them like this.

"I just gave her a chance at a new life, that's what you've been pushing her to do isn't it?"

"And you've been pushing her to go back to her abuser. Why the fuck would you give Rory to him like that?" Joe folded his arms over his chest as he felt tears welling up in his eyes. There was no sane reason why Gwilym would give Rory back to her abusive, murdering father like that because he had just put her in danger and taken her away from her mother who was already in a fragile state of mind. (Y/n) didn't need this, she needed her daughter and to have a new life together.

"I helped her get out but we both know this plan wouldn't work. If she left with Rory the boys would have taken her back to Ben and if you or me tried to drive up to Scotland with Rory we would have been murdered. If she wants a new life, she has to have it on her own at least for now."

"How do you work that out?"

Joe knew the plan could work, they could make the trip up to Scotland with Rory if they were precise and careful, they would do it for (Y/n) but now Gwilym had shattered that plan.

"Ben has his daughter back, he is focusing on her and if we get (Y/n) out right now she will be gone for good. Ben will eventually stop looking for her and we know it, he has his daughter, Rory is the one he was searching Hell and back for because she is his blood. He has already called everyone back to the club so no one is watching the train or coach stations or the docks. (Y/n) can leave."

No matter how much Ben loved (Y/n), he might eventually stop searching for her now that he had Rory back in his arms because she was his flesh and blood. She was his daughter and he had been scanning the country for her. Now that he thought they knew (Y/n) was still in London he had called off all his men from watching the stations and docks because he thought they were getting (Y/n) back too. There was a big opportunity for (Y/n) to get away now because no one would be searching for her.

The only thing was, she would have to go without Rory.

But they could easily take Rory from Ben and scarper with her in a month or two and get her back to (Y/n) at some point. Gwilym wasn't saying that this was forever, he was simply saying that if (Y/n) wanted to go this was the only way they could safely and realistically get her out.

"She's not going to go without Rory-"

"She will if she thinks she's still going to get Rory." Pain flooded Gwilym's eyes and his cracked voice that was hushed to stop (Y/n) from hearing their conversation. He watched Joe's whole expression fall as he started to shake his head, unable to stop the tears.

"No. I will not break her by letting her think she's going away with her baby if you've already given her away to Ben. We can't do that, she can't go-"

"You want her to go, you wanted her to get away so she isn't abused or threatened or beaten into submission. If you still want her to be safe then you won't tell her now come on, Ben wants us back at the club because he thinks we're bringing (Y/n). We go and get our punishment then come back and get (Y/n) the fuck out of here. This was always going to be the plan."

Joe pushed past Gwilym and headed for the door, knowing they had to get back to the club. But he couldn't lie to (Y/n), Joe couldn't pretend that her daughter was going to be following her into a new life up in Scotland when in reality she was already back with the monster who loved her with such a possessive passion that it was frightening. Joe could never break (Y/n) like that when she was already broken.

But Gwilym had already put the wheels in motion.
