You hung limply over Jade's shoulder as he brought you over to the table. He set you down gently and handed you a plate with a polite smile, before quickly snapping up the food he wanted. Thankfully, Jade was quick enough for you to be able to grab a sandwich you actually wanted to eat. There's no way in the cold, wet hells[1] that you'd eat any large meal before swimming. Stomachaches were already a common occurrence for you due to the curse of menstruation, why go through even more unnecessary pain?
Sadly, the boys had a completely different philosophy. Ruggie had piled a plate sky-high with varying meats and seafood, all while fiercely guarding a gourmet steak for Leona. Floyd and Jade, with you stuck between them, had also taken a large amount of food. At least they were planning on eating vegetables. Meanwhile, Riddle, Azul, Vil and Rook seemed to have prepared meals with the 'perfect' caloric intake.
And even then, they're eating so much! Though I guess the minimum calories are higher for guys? And they are younger...[2]
Leona slowly stalked over to the table, hair a mess from his nap and snatched his plate from Ruggie, sitting next to the hyena. Idia eventually got up from the pancake he made on the ground, mostly by Ortho's prompting. A plate stacked with healthy foods was handed to him by his brother and he was forced in a seat next to Silver. The Diasomnia first year had a plate with similarly healthy foods, though Idia had a smaller portion in comparison... It didn't help that every so often, Lilia would add a vegetable or cut of meat to Silver's plate.
Malleus ate silently at the head of the table with a contemplative frown, Lilia smirking and whispering in his ear while Silver just ate in silence. Trey smiled sheepishly in conversation with Cater and Riddle, the three of them seemingly somewhat pleased with their meals. Kalim and Jamil ate next to each other, food already tested for poison and picked out to be a perfect lunch.
"Koi fish~" Floyd started, leaning over your shoulder. "is that seriously all you're gonna eat?"
"Ah- well..." You trailed off. "I'm not exactly a 'growing girl' so to speak."
"Still," Jade chimed in, mirroring Floyd. "that isn't a lot of food. Are you sure you don't need to eat anymore?"
Are they... planning something? It's not my fault you boys all eat like beasts!
Trey silently spooned some pasta onto Riddle's plate. Suddenly, everyone at the table seemed extremely invested in your private conversation.
You sighed. "Yes, I'm sure."
Who are they? My mom? Please. She'd never be so smothering.
"You're already skin and bones." Leona chimed in, "A herbivore like you definitely needs to eat more. Else you'll end up like Riddle."
"WHAT'S THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!" The redhead snapped at Leona, face matching the colour of his hair. "Though you definitely should eat more, it doesn't seem like enough food for the day." He looked over at you, now cool as a cucumber.
"I agree, I don't think a sandwich is enough for a day in the sun." Trey frowned in concern, Cater nodding emphatically next to him.
"Yeah! How are we supposed to post cute beach pics if you're fainting from a lack of food!"
Can the peanut gallery PLEASE stop offering their opinions?
You took a small bite out of your sandwich, resisting the urge to roll your eyes. A posture of steel, not a crumb falling nor a hair out of place. The essence of perfection you were taught to be. Too bad the boys were too busy worrying over your lunch to properly appreciate it.
"Are you really fine with only eating that much?" Kalim tilted his head in concern. "Shouldn't she eat more, Jamil?"
"Eh?" His vice dormleader looked over, pretending to be unaware of the conversation. "...Yes, she should be eating more."
Lilia nodded his head with a frown and a shrug. "She definitely should, humans are sooo fragile~"
Vil and Rook looked over at what you were eating, looks of disapproval obvious.
"Don't tell me you've bought into diet culture," Vil lectured, "it's been proven to be a scam that hardly works and even then-"
"Diet culture is a scam?!" Azul looked shell shocked.
"Obviously? Pressuring people into restricting what they eat so much and guilting them for even barely straying from an un-nutritious and unfulfilling diet is a binge-eating disaster waiting to happen!"
"...You guys are binge-eating?" Ruggie looked over, half a chicken wing in his mouth, curious.
Floyd poked your cheek, then attempted to place more food on your plate. A serving of calamari clashed against a spearing of mushrooms. Twins glared and started to war a silent fight while you polished off your lunch. There was no way you were gonna deal with this in-fighting when you could just find Crewel and go swimming. You put your plate in the sink and cleaned it up.
Quiet as a mouse, you left the room, boys none the wiser. Grabbing your bag off of the couch, you bid Crewel adieu and went out to the beach. Shimmering waves against the gleaming, blinding white sand enamored you as you placed your bag and towel in the shade.
A warding talisman and the removal of your sundress left you free to explore the shore to your heart's content. Wandering around, you gathered bone-bleached shells and smoothed down shards of colourful sea glass. By the time you reached rocky cliff, you had left a trail of footprints and a floating pile of your treasures following you. You smiled and took in the relaxing atmosphere.
A crash and the loud slam of the door.
A swarm of boys rushing down the hill towards the sandy beach.
"(Y/NNNNN)!!!" Floyd called out, arms waving around wildly, giant grin on his face.
Ruggie and Leona waved from where Ruggie was setting up a throne room for the king of naps. Malleus and Lilia curiously observing while being blasted with horrific UV rays. Rook had already helped Vil set up a UV-proof zone and the two were slathering on reef-safe suncream, glancing at-
Did Idia just eat sand and die?
You smiled ruefully, your boys were so stupid. And there goes Idia rolling over! Knocking over Riddle, Trey, Cater and-
Like dominoes, Idia's fall started a chain reaction ending in a dog-pile of half-naked, sweaty, flushed men. Disgusting.
You glided over gracefully, faked concern appearing on your face like a well-worn mask.
"Are you guys okay?" You asked, leaning over, hands on your knees.
For whatever reason, the boys just went even more red. You think Riddle let out a muffled shriek. The momentary confusion was replaced by disappointment.
They were looking at your cleavage. The pigs.
Yeah. There's no way you were going to go near them. You acted confused, tilting your head before walking past in a decisive moment towards Vil and Rook.
How do I bleach a memory from my brain?!
No matter. You sat in the UV-safe zone with Rook and Vil. The hunter offered you a bottle of water.
"Ah- no, thank you." With a snap of your fingers, your bag appeared next to you. "I brought my own."
A sip of water and then you gathered up the things you collected from beach-combing.
"Was that what you were doing while we had that..." Vil paused. "discussion?"
You beamed. "Yep!" That reminds you... "I founded a shell that was like you!" You told Vil with a blinding smile, rummaging through the piles for it.
You pulled out a large conch shell, spiky with streaks of purple. A shy look in your eyes and you offered it to him.
"If I remember correctly... conches follow the golden ratio, right? And well... you're the most perfect person I know, so..."
Vil sniffed and took the shell from your hands like a merciful god. "I suppose it's... nice."
"Vil, mon cher Roi du Poison, I can always take it from your hands if you do not want it!" Rook stated with a wink and a grin. "I always delight in a gift from our Reine des Cygnes[3]!"
Rook reached his hand out only to have it slapped away, Vil tucking the conch protectively into his arms.
"No, it's mine. She gave it to me, so hands off!"
You fretted over the slight fight, feeling the sparks flying between the two. Vil with a stone cold expression and Rook with his ever-present smile.
"Oh- uhm, I also brought something for you, Rook!"
It wasn't a lie, you did find a piece of glass that reminded you of your classmate, but...
"You did?!" Rook took your hands in his, stars in his eyes. "I shall cherish this for every year that goes by, ma chouette!"
...You just knew Rook was gonna get weird about it. Too late to save yourself now.
"Ah- here." You tugged your hands out of Rook's grasp and handed him an arrow-shaped shard of indigo sea glass. It sparkled against the sun, uncannily reminiscent of the shine in Rook's eyes.
"Thank you so much ma chère!" He quickly took it, handling it with the reverence of a man with an idol of his god.
"It was no problem at all..." You flushed slightly at the praise.
"No, you took the time to search for these and then give them to us." Vil gazed at you with ardent warmth. "Thank you for taking the time to find these."
You suddenly wished for a fan, hands covering your face while it rapidly heated up. You couldn't handle this! Both Vil and Rook in their purple swimwear, decorative open shirts framing their bodies with such elegance... it was too much!
A chuckle. Vil covered his laugh up with a hand over his mouth. Rook simply stayed smiling with a knowing look in his eyes. The Pomefiore Housewarden leaned in closer to you, hands brushing, as he opened his mouth to whisper something but-
"Ey, (Y/N), come here!" Leona beckoned you over and with a frown and a curious glance, you followed.
Vil looked awfully put out, but Rook seemed to be even more pleased by this outcome, taking out a pair of sun-proofed binoculars from who knows where.
You walked over to the two Savanaclaw members, Leona now lazing on a towel-bed while Ruggie set up portable fans to cool the lion down.
"Heard you were giving out gifts." Leona said with a twitch of his ears. "Where's mine?"
You fumbled for a second in slight shock, but with a quick recovery, gave him one half of an oyster shell, coated in mother of pearl.
He raised an eyebrow. "Where's the other half?"
"It's for Ruggie!" You smiled. "Who else?"
The hyena, with a bashful turn of his head, took the other half from your hands. "Wait- I can probably make a lot of money with this... Thank you!"
"Isn't it rude to sell a gift?"
"I gave it to him since I knew he probably would sell it!" You snapped back in reply.
"I don't get either of you." And with a huff, Leona lied down and took another nap.
"...Is he already asleep?" You asked Ruggie, head leaning against your hand as you watched him finish up the nap-fort.
The hyena glanced at Leona. "Probably, yeah."
"He's really good at this..." You sighed. "Now if only he'd apply this effort to his studies..."
A bark of laughter.
"Like he'd ever! Leona isn't Leona if he spends all his time studying!"
A fond grin and a burst of yellow roses in your heart. "Yeah... you're right."
Tumblr media
After a while of chatting with Ruggie and a quick re-application of suncream, you went over to the waves. Floyd and Jade waved at you from where they were (most likely) torturing poor Riddle, who was fuming once again. Trey and Cater tried their best to calm him but it was a lost cause. Meanwhile, Idia was carefully watching Ortho's movements in the water, taking notes on a floating tablet. Kalim was splashing around while Jamil stayed on guard by the shore, resolutely ignoring Azul trying to talk to him.
"Koi fish! You gonna swim?" Floyd asked with a bright grin, cheeks flushing.
"Why else would I be by the waves?" You teased.
Riddle went bright red at your entrance, eyes darting to your chest and then to your face before he quickly whipped his head away from you. If he wasn't so endearing you'd have punted him into the sun already.
"Oh, (Y/N)!" Kalim waved you over. "Wanna play a game with us?"
"Sure!" You beamed. "What is it?"
Jade held a hand to his chest, a smirk on his face. "We're playing 'save the princess'. Would you like to play the part? The heroes have to rescue you from us, if they get to that tree with you, they win."
At some point I am going to murder these men. Is he seriously asking me to play the damsel in distress?
You looked at both Floyd and Jade, the two, in their true forms, were practically vibrating with excitement. You guessed they would be your captors... and even then you doubt that they'd let you go.
A sigh. "I guess..."
Floyd smiled wide and grabbed you by the waist in a second. Clawed hands almost fondling your sides.
"I've got Koi fishie~ let's swim away, Jade!" He laughed in childish glee as he quickly darted off.
"Wait, we're starting now?" Kalim called out. "Oh, then, Jamil! Help me catch those dastardly villains!"
A tilt to his head and a proud smile on his face, Kalim fell into his role as the knight-prince, your supposed saviour.
"If sea snake's joining then I want Azul!" Floyd pouted as Jade simply smiled. "Azul! Join us!"
Their Housewarden sighed, getting up from his place in the sand along with Jamil as they entered the water. For whatever reason, Azul stayed in his two-legged form, yet he still could quickly swim over.
"If we are to win," Jade said, "we should make sure to split up. Toss (Y/N) over to the person who is unswarmed by these heroes."
"But I want to spend time with (Y/N)!" Floyd frowned, hands twitching around your waist while you let him carry you, limp.
And I wanted to play a fun game of tag, but I guess we don't always get what we want!
"I agree with Jade." Azul pushed his glasses up. "We should make sure to keep (Y/N) away from these heroes."
Your captors had migrated over to the deeper waters in the ocean, powerful tails (and legs) allowing them to tread the water with ease. You shifted in Floyd's grasp, turning chest-to-chest, to peer over at your supposed heroes. The merman chirped with glee and held you even tighter to him in a pseudo-hug while he continued to discuss tactics with his dormmates.
Surprisingly, Riddle, Cater and Trey were participating in this game as well. By the looks of things, it seems they had managed to recruit Ortho too. The 'knights' were similarly congregating, thinking up a game plan. While their numbers trumped your captors, you're sure that they are the ones with the advantage.
Seriously, why are the teams like this. There's no way Kalim's team is winning against this sea-beasts.
In a flash, Azul, Jade and Floyd swam off in different directions. Floyd's powerful tail pushed the both of you through the water at a near-alarming speed, making you laugh in an adrenaline-fueled manner. You looked over Floyd's shoulder to see most of the hero team swimming towards you both at a much slower rate. Floyd soon stopped and started to float in the water, guarding you in his arms like a precious treasure.
"You'll never take Koi fishie from me!" He growled out, baring his teeth with a laugh.
"Are you sure about that?" Riddle smirked. "You're surrounded."
In a flash, Riddle, Trey, Cater and Kalim had encircled Floyd, slowly drawing closer with no escape. It's too bad that your 'captors' had planned for this. Floyd smiled even wider, lifting you up by the hips, and called out to Jade. With strong arms, he tossed you over to his brother, who caught you gently with steel cable-like arms. As you flew through the air, you couldn't help but laugh at the 'heroes' shocked faces.
"It seems you're stuck with me now." Jade smiled, quickly swimming off with Jamil and Ortho giving chase.
The merman was holding you in a bridal-style carry, whipping his tail through the water, dodging Ortho and Jamil's tries to grab and save you.
You waved lazily at them. "Oh no. I've been caught. Dear heroes, please save me." You spoke, completely deadpan.
You could hear Jade's chest vibrate from a chuckle as he continued to race through the water. A glance towards his back showed Azul setting up for a catch while Floyd taunted poor Riddle. Trey and Cater were quickly swimming over to help Jamil and Ortho, who were quickly catching up.
So they're handicapping themselves for this. Probably 'cause it wouldn't be as fun.
"Don't worry (Y/N), I'll save you!" Ortho called out, his motors whirring as he started to speed up, nearly brushing your hand as Jade quickly dodged.
"It's not polite to lie, Ortho." Jade called out as you braced yourself for another toss. "There's simply no way for you to win."
In a quick, smooth motion, you flew through the air once more to be caught by Azul. You laughed and ruffled his hair in joy, undeniably pleased from all this throwing. For whatever reason, being tossed through the air filled you with pinks and yellows of a childish happiness, making you giggle, adrenaline-drunk, with glee.
"Please don't mess up my hair." Azul sighed, resigned. He shifted you around in his arms for a better ease of movement as Riddle drew in near with a dangerous glare.
The position he landed on was you, held by the waist in one arm as you were slung over his shoulder. He then took off, not as fast as Jade or Floyd, but still faster than your supposed future saviours. Soon enough, he let them catch up, then threw you through the air to Floyd.
And so the cycle continued, you happily being thrown in the air while the hero team eventually slowed down, exhausted. Not ones' to lose, they congregated into a circle on the shore to discuss plans, while you stayed fixed in Floyd's arms. Jade and Azul soon joining you as you all watched the hero team plan.
"I wonder how they'll approach us this time." Jade simpered with an everpresent smile.
Azul scoffed. "This is such a stupid game. How on earth are they going to win?"
Unfortunately for them, Azul just jinxed the 'villain' team. Malleus, Lilia and Silver, returning from a beach combing exploration, went over to the hero team. Kalim waved his hands around and suddenly, it seemed that the Diasomnia boys joined the hero team. Their discussion continued with even more fervor, a dark shadow appearing over their group as they started to scheme.
"Wow. You really just screwed yourself over, Azul." You deadpanned, unbothered by any of this.
Floyd hugged you closer to him in glee. "Now it's gonna be super fun! Too bad none of them will steal you from me..."
A dark chuckle. "No. They won't win against us, right Azul?"
His glasses flashed. "I think it's time to think of a different plan."
Tumblr media
You laughed as Floyd darted through the waves, waving at Malleus, Silver and Lilia who were closing in on you. Sadly for them, Floyd picked up even more speed. Beads of water flew through the air as the waves splashed into the Diasomnia group. Meanwhile, Jade tried to shake off a persistent group of Heartslabyul boys, Azul facing the same problem with Kalim and Jamil.
"Return (Y/N) to us, mortal, and your punishment will be lessened." Malleus glared, picking up speed.
"There's no way for you to win, Floyd, so just give up." Lilia added with a chuckle.
Silver stayed silent, a dark look on his face as he swam even faster, nearly managing to grab you off of Floyd. Floyd laughed in amusement and quickly changed directions. Jade and Azul started swimming towards the center of the ocean alongside you and Floyd. Though you were, of course, a limp spectator in this competition. Still, it was fun to move so quickly through the water, you giggled as Floyd started to go even faster.
The three of them met in the middle, the others not far behind. Azul scowled as Jade grabbed you from Floyd, manhandling you into his arms.
"Ready?" Azul asked, "They're closing in."
True to his statement, the group of 'heroes' were quickly getting closer. Riddle looked triumphant, while Trey and Cater's eyes shone with determination to 'save' you.
I guess it's time for my plan to come into action, too.
There was no way you were playing damsel in distress. No matter how fun it was to go fast and be thrown around, this objectification was too much to bear. Thank god for Idia, who had seen your rapid signing and silently gathered Ruggie and Rook to the shore. You smiled to yourself. This rescue plan was going to work.
"Hand (Y/N) over, criminals! We're here to save her, there's no escape!" Malleus boomed with a smirk.
"Isn't there?" Jade smiled in reply, "It seems you weren't paying enough attention."
In that quick amount of time, Azul and Floyd had tied up their legs in the seaweed from the ocean floor. They struggled, shocked.
And now it was your time to shine.
"Yeah. There's no need for you heroes!" You smiled, a steely look in your eyes. "I can save myself just fine, thanks."
In one quick motion, you grabbed Jade's arms, throwing him over your shoulder by using his body weight. The eel barreled into Floyd and Azul, knocking them out. Whip-quick, you swam off, darting through the waves with a laugh as you approached the shore.
A look over your shoulder, the boys were catching up. Floyd, Jade and Azul were closest, but the others were pulling on them to slow them down. It soon turned into an all-out war as they fought to get near to you, either to 'save' or 'capture' you. Too bad.
With a smile and a wave, you ran onto the shore. Idia and Ruggie grinned and guarded you as you approached the win-point. You hit the tree with your hand and beamed.
"I win!" You said in a sing-song tone.
The boys were stunned.
Trey laughed first. "Yeah, you did! Well done."
The others joined in, heaping you with praise as your heart fluttered in joy. Butterflies in your stomach as you all started to chat about your plan and your win. Ruggie ruffled your hair while Idia gave you a smile in support.
It was a fun day.

[1] Chinese hell is cold, dark and damp. Basically the opposite to traditional perception of Christian hell. And there are multiple hells! Lovely ^^ [2] Generally, Chinese eating tendencies is that the best and most food goes to children, then the elderly, then the adults. Portion sizes also tend to be quite small for adults/teens, at least compared to US portion sizes. MC is exaggerating when calling the boys younger tho... it's the innate mom instinct lmao [3] Queen of Swans... get it.... cuz MC's so graceful but can also be very fierce? Also cuz swans = romance and Rook is definitely noticing the reverse harem shenangians
Just a fun fact, kids/babies get so happy from being thrown because it helps strengthen their bodies against gravity. It also strengthens a kid's sense of balance and motion. I wonder why MC likes it now uwu

Ensemble Stars ! Adonis Idol Story : Morning Silence
Tumblr media
Summer, on the way to school
Adonis : (Mmh...)
(That person walking in front of me... Is that Anzu?)
(It's quite early though. She's going to school at the same time as me who has morning training with the track and field club)
(To stay healthy it's important to go to bed early and wake up early as well)
(No, something must be keeping her busy as a producer. In order to follow classes, I heard she was studying by herself)
(She's amazing, Anzu. Despite being so small... she's doing her best every day)
(Poor thing, she's accumulating fatigue and is staggering. It's dangerous, I want to run up to her and help her right away but...)
(If I suddenly call out to her from behind, I might scare her)
(No matter how hard I try, it seems like I have no presence. If someone as tall as me suddenly comes from behind, Anzu's heart might stop)
(As long as there's this possibility, I can't call out to her)
(But I'm worried. I can't leave her alone)
(I'll quietly follow her from behind. Without her noticing, I'll stay at a distance from where I can protect her.)
(...........)
(..... I'm hungry)
(That's because my sisters don't eat in the morning. And I don't make breakfast)
(I overslept a bit today, I had to leave in a rush and didn't eat anything)
(Mmh. My stomach is grumbling. That's not good, Anzu is going to notice me)
(Mmh? Anzu is turning around?)
(...........)
(......Fuu. I had to hide quickly, fortunately, there was a food cart here)
(Anzu isn't looking this way, right?)
(......Mh. Is that a kebab food cart? Perfect, let's have breakfast here)
Excuse me Sir, I'll have a kebab
Could you cut the meat into thick slices?
......Mh? No, I'll just have one portion. Indeed, I'm a big eater but I'll exercise afterward
If I eat too much, I'll throw up while running
That would be a shame. I want to digest my food without throwing up
By eating meat and digesting it, I'll become stronger
Mh? "I was talking about the lady over there"?
...... Anzu, I didn't know you were here. You really have no presence. Even less than me
You noticed me following you? Ah because I'm tall... My head was hidden but not my bottom? I'll be more careful next time
Mmh. I thought that I shouldn't surprise you
I hesitated to call you out. I didn't follow you with any bad intent, believe me
You want a kebab?
Yes Sir, she's one of my acquaintances. I'll take a kebab for her too
I'd like more meat in her kebab. If there's a supplement, I'll pay for it
Aa, Anzu. My treat, as an apology for making you anxious
Eat meat, become stronger and you'll no longer be afraid of me... I won't have to worry about you anymore, think of it like that
Did I manage to convey what I wanted to say?
The kebabs are here. It's hot, be careful Anzu
Eat your kebab. The meat is good. Munch, Munch
Sir. No, it's not my lover
I'm an idol and she's a "producer". We're also classmates, that's our relationship
Mmh. It's good if you understand. That kebab is tasty
Do you eat here every day? I'll become a regular customer, the meat is really good
Munch
What are you doing Anzu*? Could you not suddenly touch my mouth? Otherwise, I'll eat your finger with my kebab
Mh. That's right, it's not polite to speak while eating. There's food on my face? You wanted to wipe it with your handkerchief?
Thank you. ... You're quite daring, aren't you
You might be tougher than I thought. Next time I won't think too much about it and just call out to you
Sir. She's not my sister, nor my mother. Why are you smiling while saying things like "what a troublesome child"?
It's weird. I don't know why but this morning is even more pleasant than usual.
___________
*Here, Adonis is calling the main character «Transfer Student» (転校生), instead of Anzu like in the rest of the conversation. I thought transfer student sounded weird and decided to keep Anzu instead.

if you have issues with laundry & live alone or already do mixed person loads, you can put dirty clothes directly in the washer. if you used laundry pods throw one in when the laundry gets switched. if you use liquid, pour it in just before it gets run. laundry piles up significantly less then, and you don't have to lift a (potentially) heavy basket or repeated 'pick up & drop' motions.
a timer on you phone for about 20 minutes more than what the washer says will get you there right about when it finishes, and clothes can be worn straight out of the dryer, then go right back to the wash. it's a cycle that has minimal in-between pile potential.
also, designated spots for 'lightly worn, can wear again' and/or 'house clothes/pjs' can mean you're not loosing stuff. a spot on the bed, on top the dresser, on a chair, a designated basket or hanging bag. sweaters can also go there. it's ideal if it can air out between wears, but not necessary.
raw veggies in microwave 1-3 person bags will normally be good for about a week, and offer a similar experience texture-wise as chips. small snacks like mini candy or veggie chips/straws can be grabbed in a handful or snall bowl and snacked on while you make/wait for food. 'bad/unhealthy' food you eat is better than 'good/healthy' food you don't
if you can't pre-portion food, a bowl or plate designated for 'dry goods' (and chopsticks or spoon for texture/mess issues) can save you if you can't pre-portion your food. easy, visible, and mobile/carry-able, and you can pick a size when you have energy. anything dry can go in it, try to switch it out/clean it when you can. i'd suggest at least once a week. a pack of kids' bowls can serve pretty well. they're pretty too, and durable so if they drop they probably won't break
if you like juice, but can't finish it, concentrate may be a good idea. you buy it frozen, thaw it and add water, but you could pop a can out and cut it in half, thaw one half at a time and put the other in a tupperware/bag back in the freezer. a shotglass or ramekin (little dip bowl) of water in the microwave with pizza/breads helps texture, and maybe a teaspoon or two (~1-2 seconds under moderate water flow or 5-10mL) of water will keep rice soft and not rock hard
also, folding laundry is a scam. i have 4 baskets total. 1 for dirty laundry, i don't buy clothes i can't throw in the wash without sorting 1 for tops (shirts, bras, dresses, and clean sweaters). 1 for bottoms (pants, underwear, socks, skirts, leggings) 1 for sheets and spare fabric i haven't put up yet
i don't fold any of this, it's all near my door & directly across from my bed. i literally roll on to the floor and am faced with all of my clothes. everything has at least 2 matches, there's one color scheme, & the same 3 fabrics that all wash the same. anything fancy is something i don't have to wash often & have separate low, clear bins just above the others. towels/rags, handkerchiefs/scarves/bathing suits, and one more clear bin for event/sentimental pieces i don't wear anymore

Headcanon's time
It genuinely surprises me that we don't talk much about Kai and Nya's difficult childhood, so I'm going to show you some headcanons about it now. These headcanons can be sad.
Headcanon 1
Kai gave his best to his sister.
If a clove broke on a fork, then only he began to use the broken one, when Nya gave only clean and strong forks.
He gave her more portions of food than himself.
And he tried to make sure that Nya didn't eat anything dangerous to health.
If the scrambled eggs burned, he would eat the burnt area himself, and Nya would give the remaining scrambled eggs.
If the bread began to grow moldy, he cut off the moldy part and ate the rest of such bread while giving fresh bread to his sister.
He made sure that Nya had clean and comfortable clothes while he himself could wear a dirty shirt and a burnt apron for days.
Headcanon 2
Kai is very economical in terms of products
The ninja wouldn't let him cook in the kitchen, not because he was a "bad cook" but because he cooked little and bland.
Kai from childhood learned to think ahead and when cooking something, he tried to use not too many ingredients and not waste them, cutting off small pieces from some carrots than indicated in the recipe.
So, for example, if he decided to cook soup, he took fewer ingredients, added more spices so that the soup was at least a little satisfying and took small plates so as not to eat all the soup for dinner, but stretch it out for several days.
And even if the soup began to deteriorate, but there was a little left to eat, he finished eating.
And even as an adult, when he has a lot of food in the house, Kai continues to use a small amount of ingredients from time to time and eat small portions, although he has plenty of food and money to buy.
If Zane cooks according to the principle "Tasty, satisfying and healthy", then Kai "It's edible and you can still eat it."
Kai knows a bunch of hacks on how to use expired products and how to tell if they're expired.
If the rice began to spoil, he molded it into cakes.
If the milk began to spoil, he tried to bake cheese or buns from it.
And that's tasty.
Kai knows how to determine expired eggs by the color of the shell, looks at every crack in the cheese, reads all the information on milk packages, analyzes all the fatty layers on the chicken.
Often, all of his suspicions about the quality of some product came true, so the ninja didn't distract Kai from a long analysis of whether the product was good or not.
Due to the habit of thinking ahead in an overly objective and often pessimistic way, as an adult, any thoughts about the future cause Kai to feel depressed and gloomy.
Therefore, in the third season, he says that he prefers to think about the present than about the future.
Headcanon 3
Kai keeps a lot of things in reserve
Since childhood, he tried to keep even old or broken things, but which can still be used.
The same fork, bent spoon, scratched plates, old but warm blankets, used stamps and envelopes.
And if things couldn't be restored, then he repaired them or transformed them.
Baby sweatshirt that you can't wear anymore?
You can sew a bandana or a scarf.
Is the edge of the pot damaged?
Now it's a frying pan, you just need to find a pen and glue.
Are the boots too small?
NYA, DON'T THROW MY SANDALS AWAY!
And even if this didn't help, then he used these objects as experiments.
He melted broken ladles into blades, for example.
Kai found alternatives to some things.
For example, when they didn't have soap, he would go to the river and rub his clothes with rocks and sand.
Although the clothes weren't as clean, the sand helped to wipe off the greasy stains.
Headcanons about Nya
Headcanon 1
Nya, as she got older, wanted to help Kai with the pressure of being a parent, so she went to help him with his rice planting job or tried to find a part-time job after school.
But Kai forbade her to work and constantly told her to study rather than tear her muscles.
He wanted Nya to get a good education and be able to live happily in Ninjago City by leaving this poor village.
And Nya decided to study hard, but her goal was to "Get BOTH of them out of this outback and finally buy Kai some decent clothes."
Headcanon 2
Nya lied about nightmares when she slept with him.
Although she was small, she saw how bad her brother was after the disappearance of their parents and, knowing that he wouldn't tell her about this problem, she decided under the guise of "I had a nightmare. Can I sleep with you?" hug him, thereby giving support.
And when Kai began to cry in his sleep, she sang beautiful melodies that Maya sang to them.
Headcanon 3
Nya tried to change Kai's habits.
After joining the ninja team, Nya began to buy beautiful and comfortable clothes for Kai, knowing his nonchalance towards himself.
And also watched what size shoes he wears.
This is Kai and even wearing shoes one size smaller isn't difficult for him.
He always asked how much the clothes bought for him cost and Nya lied about the price by lowering it.
She made a bet with him on a quick meal so that Kai would stop leaving half of his portion in the refrigerator just in case.
And Kai slowly switched his mode "Survival" to "Ordinary Life" and allowed himself to eat large portions or buy something expensive for himself.

i really liked your writing about the chinese food? don't know if you remember what i'm talking about lol but something else like that would be great. sorry if this is too vague
I’m pretty sure I know the one you mean! If it isn’t and this isn’t what you had in mind, just hit me up again and I’ll write something else!
The annual fair has come back into town, and you and your friends decide to head out. Everyone is excited as there isn’t much to do in your small hometown so the fair is a big deal. Everyone is excited for the rides and entertainment, but you’re most excited for the food. Just thinking of the sweet treats and savoury snacks has your mouth watering.
Upon arrival you all decide to have a bite to eat before exploring too far. You head to a food stall close by, and decide on loaded fries. They all sound so good you order two portions so you don’t have to choose, you pick the chilli beef and the spicy pulled pork. You all sit down at a picnic bench and dig in.
You take a bite of the chilli fries first, the flavourful spices igniting your tastebuds like fireworks. You devour half of them before deciding to try the pork. When they said spicy, they meant it. You can handle your spice but even you find yourself needing a drink. Leaving your food with your friends momentarily you head to the milkshake stand. Peanut butter chocolate chip of course, and you make it a large. Why not you think, it’s part of the fun!
Returning to your friends you have a large gulp of your shake, the sweet taste feeling amazing in your mouth. You finish off the chilli fries before moving back to the spicy pork. By now you acknowledge the fact that actually, you’re not hungry anymore. But you can’t waste the fries so you eat them anyway, interchanging every other mouthful with a swig or three of thick creamy milkshake. Everyone else is ready to leave so you eat it all at lightning speed. You finish the fries and down the last of the milkshake before leaning back slightly. You’re overly full. Not completely stuffed, but beyond the point of being “comfortably” full. You give you’re belly a little rub, it’s protruding a tiny bit but not hugely bloated. You encourage up a huge belch, it’s thick with the milkshake and it lasts a long time. You’re friends laugh, and you all get up and make your way to the next activity.
You all decide on watching a fire eating show, followed by playing some carnival games. By now you’re feeling a lot less full, so when someone suggests a snack you’re all for it. This is where you’re gluttony sets in. Choosing just one snack out of all of the wonderful choices is too hard. So you buy a selection, stating you intention is to share it all out with your friends, though you yourself know that you’re going to have more than your fair share.
Donuts, churros, candy floss, ice cream, popcorn, deep fried mars bars, and chocolate coated strawberries (fruit is healthy right?) fill your arms as you find a shaded place on the grass to sit.
You go for a donut first, followed by a churro. Your lips and fingers covered in sugar. Annoyingly you find yourself feeling full already. Another small rub to your belly brings up a little gas, allowing for some more room. Next you eat the ice cream, it’s soft where it’s started melting in the heat. Each lick taste wonderful and refreshing, you chose a vanilla and it’s super creamy. And of course what goes better with vanilla ice cream than chocolate strawberries? You devour the lot in under five minutes. To break things up a little and refresh your palate, you then chug half a bottle of water. Once you pull the bottle away from your lips, you become aware of a heavy feeling in your stomach. You try to encourage up yet another burp, but instead get a regurgitated mouthful of water mixed with undigested ice cream. Swallowing it back down, you lean back, suddenly acutely aware of how full you are. The fullness is increasing by the second, and you’re stomach begins to ache a bit. Letting out a deep breath, you place your hand on you belly and begin rubbing circles on it, praying to aid it in the digestion of all the food crammed inside it. Your belly grumbles and whines unhappily as it tries to break down all of the sugar and fat soaked food inside of it. You can feel it bloating, expanding to accommodate all of the food it’s that you’ve shovelled inside. You feel a gas bubble forming, but even the thought of burping makes you feel queasy. You rub a little harder, hoping against hope that you’ll be able to disperse the bubble and hold out on burning until everything is a little more settled inside you’re now pretty upset tummy. But no, the rubbing just encourages the air up and you feel it rising within you, along with a lump of undigested dough filled stomach acid. No matter how much you try and suppress it, this burp is coming. You lean forward over your gurgling tummy, anticipating vomiting. But all that comes up is a gigantic wet, sickly belch that vibrates through your entire being. Once again you’re friends laugh, commenting on you gluttony and your iron gut. You don’t have it in you to tell them that actually your belly was feeling far from iron clad, that in fact you were in a lot of discomfort, bordering on actual pain. But it’s okay you think, as you’ll have some time to let your belly recover before moving on. Except you’re wrong.
One friend suggests moving on to the rides and attractions. Everyone eagerly agrees and you’re encouraged to finish up. You place the popcorn and candy floss into your rucksack, they’re both in plastic bags so can be eaten at a later date. Then you get to the deep fried mars bar. The grease from the batter has already leaked through the wrapping, meaning you can’t put it aside for later. You offer it around but nobody else wants it, all of them seem a little grossed out at the idea of the deep fried candy bar. You go to throw it away, but you are stopped by a friend who tells you what a waste it would be. That leaves only one option, to eat it. Your belly is upset already, still bloating bigger as you’re all wondering around choosing rides. You can feel all of the food mixing together and not settling at all. You’re gut has started feeling bloated and gassy lower down too, meaning that the fries from earlier are also upsetting your intestines, as much as you love spicy food it doesn’t always love you.
But you do it. Despite your poor tummy practically screaming at you not to, you take a bite of the mars bar. The mouthful of batter mixed with the sweet candy bar tastes divine, but you don’t have time to enjoy it. You forcefully swallow it down, taking another bite before your belly has time to process what you’re doing. Bite, swallow, bite, swallow, bite, swallow, bite. It’s the last bite that gets you. You hold it in your mouth way longer than necessary, because you can already feel the rest of it practically sitting in your oesophagus because there just isn’t any room in your tummy to put it. After a slow deep breath through your nose, you force yourself to swallow. The battered candy slowly slides its way down your throat, and sits itself in what feels like your chest. But you’ve done it. It’s all gone.
And then you get a sharp pain in the centre of your stomach. You’re tummy catching up to what you’ve just put inside it. It’s not happy, not happy at all. A long, deep gurgle comes from your stomach as it moves things around to find room. Room that doesn’t exist. Your stomach stretches, pushing tightly against your skin, tighter than it’s ever been before. Your belly gurgles some more, and the food settles like a rock in your tummy. Hard, heavy and unmovable. You’re friends have chosen a ride, one of those ghost trains with questionable scares and even more questionable sanitation. You excuse yourself from this ride, telling a half truth, that you think ghost trains are lame. You place yourself on a nearby bench as they get in line.
Once they’re out of sight, you allow yourself to feel the full effects of your food consumption. You leans back into the wooden bench, spreading your legs wide to accommodate you’re severely bloated tummy. You pull up your top. You are huge, like 8 months pregnant kind of huge. Your stomach is protruding far out from you, your jeans cutting into you tightly. You would love nothing more than to pop the button, but know if you did that then it would not go back together. You place your hands on your stomach and rub it desperately. It’s solid, when you push it doesn’t give at all, it’s so tight and round it almost feels like it’s actively pushing out against your hands whilst your rub. Sickening groans and sloshing gurgles continue to be emitted, as you experience the hot flushes and tingling sweaty sensations of nausea. Your bend forward, cradling your aching belly and rocking back and forth whilst also rubbing hard and fast circles over your engorged abdomen.
All to quickly you see your friends returning and you straighten up, not wanting to be caught. They all agree that the ghost train had been lame, though you’re not really listening as you fight off wave after wave of nausea. Standing up to join your friends brings a new issue. As soon as you’re upright you’re stomach seems to go into overdrive, gurglings and sloshing in your tummy, whilst huge cramps suddenly engulf your intestines. You double over, not sure if you’re going to throw up or shit yourself. You cradle you’re tummy and groan, feeling like a bloated whale out of water. Once the cramps finally pass you’re able to straighten up, only to see that your friends had already began to walk away and hadn’t noticed. You sigh a small sigh of relief before slowly waddling to catch up with them.
Walking isn’t helping. Each step increases the pain surging through every inch of your poor bulging belly. Your jeans are cutting so deeply into you that you’re beginning to fear they’ll actually draw blood. You walk with your hand up your shirt, rubbing profusely at your aching sick tummy. And then someone notices. They slow down, joining you at the back of the group. They ask if you’re okay, and by now you don’t have it in you to lie. You tell them how much your tummy is hurting, how sick you feel and how upset your tummy is. You pull your shirt up and let them see the swell of your stomach. They’re shocked, placing they’re hands on your tummy and pushing it slowly. You feel something rising in your throat and turn away, but only a small sickly burp escapes you. And then you stop. Your friends have chosen a ride. A roller coaster. You begin thinking up excuses to not go, but know they all know that you’re a roller coaster fiend.
That’s when your friend turns to you and quietly asks if you want to leave now feeling so sick or if you want to feel a bit better first. You look at them questioningly as they point at the ride. Oh. You stand there, wondering what to do, but your tummy is so sore, so bloated, so sick, you know what needs to be done. As you all queue for the ride, you and your friend remain at the back of the group. They place their hands on your tummy, rubbing it gently and soothingly. The pressure in you tummy is still growing, your belly so big and so tightly packed you can barely breath. Your friend moved their hands down and pops your button. Your fly undoes itself from the pressure, and your belly let’s put a huge groan of relief as it has more room to accommodate the greasy food and ever building gas and awfully digested food. You groan in painful pleasure at the release of some pressure, though by the time you reach the front of the line your belly is fully bloated and tight as a drum again.
They sit you two by two, your friend sat by you to offer comfort and continues tending to your belly as everyone boards. When the lap bar is pulled down, it pushes tightly into your stomach, and you let out a huge sickly belch along with a wet, gut wrenching fart. Your friend chuckles a little, patting you reassuringly on the knee before the ride begins.
The rollercoaster begins it’s incline and the contents of your tummy sloshes backwards making you nauseous once again. And then the coaster drops, and turns and jolts along the tracks. The insides of your belly splash and move in all directions. You close your eyes as the nausea builds and builds and builds. All of the food mixes and swirls within you, and you can feel it all bubbling sickly. Your skin is prickly with sweat as you feel acid rushing up your throat whilst you swallow thickly to keep it down a little longer. Finally the ride stops, the lap bar raises, and you run off of the ride and out of the exit. You don’t have time to find a trash can, your tummy is so sick and upset and the nausea is building fast.
Finally you exit the ride area and dash to the side of the path before collapsing onto your hands and knees. You wretch once, nothing but spit comes up. You wrap your arm round your belly, it’s so tight and painful that you can’t not do it. And then you feel pressure building again and you know what you have to do. You push your hand into you tummy forcefully, and that’s all it takes.
A wave of sickly sweet vomit projectiles our of your mouth, splattering onto the grass. You have no time to even breath before another wave forces it’s way out of your mouth. You vomit with such force you feel like you’re going to fall into your own sick. But a pair of hands grabs your shoulders holding you up.
Wave after wave of projectile vomit escapes you until you’re left dry heaving profusely into the grass. Your friend pulls you away from your sick and seats you between their legs. They tell you that they’ve made the others leave and it’s just the two of you. They rub their hands deeply into your tummy, interchanging between circular motions and palpating you’re still very bloated tummy. You assess yourself, seeing that you still look pregnant and that your tummy is still rock solid. As they rub your tummy you begin bringing up gas, belching wet sickly burps that occasionally bring up mouthfuls of partially digested food that you forcefully swallow back down. Then your intestines cramp, you force your friends hand deeply into the pain, and they rub hard forceful circles into it. Once the cramp passes they then focus on the lower area of your tummy. Groans and gurgle escape, and they get louder and more urgent sounding. Cramps begin to hit more frequently, and pressure continues to build. You know you’re going to need a toilet pretty soon and you know it’s going to be an awful experience, but you’re glad you’re friend will be here to help you expel all of the upset and pain from within your poor distended tummy.

How do you start eating healthy? I don't really understand how to even start. When I go shopping now i barely pick anything because i just don't want to eat "bad" food anymore. But that's not helping either because I obviously need to eat..
i would start by just incorporating small changes to your diet slowly over time. jumping into a 100% healthy diet all at once is not only overwhelming but can be hard to maintain.
i started by cutting out soda and any drinks that were high in calories. then i started adding more veggies to my meals. i started eating smaller portions of stuff like rice and potatoes, and ate more lean proteins like chicken or fish. protein will fill you up for longer than carbs will, so i always make sure what i eat has decent protein! leads to less snacking later. recently i’ve been eating a lot of ham, lean kielbasa, and crackers lol. super easy to prepare and pretty high protein!
a staple healthy dinner for me is a lean protein, a huge serving of veggies, and a small portion of a carb. so like, a chicken breast, 1/4 cup of rice, and 2 cups of roasted veggies. you could make something like that for dinners, can’t go wrong with roasted veggies!
i would just try out different things and see what you like. i get a lot of meal ideas from a subreddit called r/1200isplenty so you could check that out too if you want! lots of healthy meal and snack ideas! you could also check out my /calorie intake tag to see the types of stuff i eat!
but again, take your time, slowly change your diet, and make sure you’re always happy and satisfied with what you’re eating! it’s a lot easier to maintain and keep up with the weight loss if you truly enjoy eating the healthy things you make!

Sorry if it's too much but lately I've been feeling low about my body. I went through a tough moment in life and I guess I finally snapped out of it and realized that I gained 28 pounds in 12 months. It was so much weight like crazy I don't recognize myself in the mirror anymore. I feel dumb for no realizing sooner. For the past month and a half I've been walking every other day and tried eating healthy but it's hard. Do you have any advice on how to start being healthy? Thank you in advance
I’m sorry for replying so late! Don’t feel stupid for it, it happens to people. It happened to me! I went from 147 to 170 in 6 months! I didn’t even realize how much weight I was putting on and it was during a terrible time in my life and my depression was at it’s worst.
I lost 50lbs back in 2012 and unfortunately put on around 10-15 in the past year.  I really want to get back into the swing of things.
I feel like the BIGGEST thing that helped me was CONSISTENCY. That meant I worked out on a regular schedule so I couldn’t just postpone it and never start up again. It’s easier to stay going than to stop and start up again. I did just about every day. Nothing too much at first of course. It’s at least 60-70% what you eat and only 30-40% supersize.
My biggest weakness is sweets. I had to cut them OUT. I know they say not to go cold turkey and to treat / not torture yourself but honestly it was the best thing I did and I regret going back on it. (I have a serious sugar problem) I crave it every day. But when I stopped, eventually I stopped craving it altogether, along with all of the other bad foods.
Green tea & lots of water are your best friends. Eating healthy is so hard to start. I started snacking on raw fruits & veggies throughout the day - a lot of them. It’s hard to replace more appetizing foods with them but it’s easy to just start with having them to snack on often.
Another thing is portion control. When I was rapidly putting on weight I was eating more and more - without really thinking about it. I then cut it to 3/4 of what I was eating before or 2/3 - so I was still full (with the help of water and unlimited amounts of veggies and fruits). I feel like meal prep is a great thing too. Even just having a small ziplock bag of carrots and bag of grapes or an apple or whatever to bring with to work or school. Filling up with those healthy foods prevents me from being hungry enough to cave to cravings.
I hope you see this and hope I can help! Reading / writing this really makes me feel motivated to get myself back on track.. cause I’ve been terrible with sweets & carbs this year and my energy level & self esteem have been much lower due to it.
