It is an inevitable part of life for Candlecreatures that they will, at least once in their life, burn out. Once this has occurred, they enter an almost hibernation like stage in which their bodies become composed of a semisolid smoke. This is often a period of low energy and frustration for most Candlecreatures, and one which many struggle to escape from.

Although many Candlecreatures will encounter this state many times in their lives, this does not make escape any easier. Sometimes it can be escaped with a mild struggle, and sometimes just by waiting it out. Sometimes struggling or waiting can worsen the state.

It is not unusual for a Candlecreature in this state to struggle to remember how they ever made light at all.

For some reason I’m constantly burning food lately and filling the kitchen with smoke and my house mates are suffering whilst I stand there munching on my raw charred stake.

So now I’m looking up why I’ve started to make such aweful mistakes no matter how hard I tried. And I was told to cook cleverly and avoid the drip. I think it’s cus there’s already a layer of coal in every pan in this house.

I won’t stop cooking.
