I grew up planning on never getting married or having children. When I got a little older, that changed to never having children and never being in another church building again. So it was particularly strange to ask my mother where the mother's room was in the ward building I've found myself in today.

I read the last three light novels for So I'm a Spider, So What? the other day after taking a break from it for awhile and now I'm sad about Ariel and Shiraori.

So I drew this, Ariel with one of Shiraori's mini-mes that were left behind.

icicle's trauma as a child soldier is very overlooked i think. which annoys me to no end because by ignoring that aspect of her character, it's very easy to paint her as ""evil"" — yes she is a cold-blooded killer, whatever, but that stems from needing a way to cope with killing dragons in the war. she had to be uncaring for others' lives to take them, and this lack of compassion for pretty much everyone (except her brothers) obviously wouldn't disappear when the war ended. icicle doesn't kill effortlessly for fun, but because she has been conditioned to do so.

#like. she's not stupid. she knows what's morally right and wrong but simply doesn't care #the chance of getting her brother back is worth killing whoever because why should she care about them?#hailstorm's life is worth infinitely more than theirs so what gives them the right to live while he dies?#do you see what i'm getting at. her mentality makes sense considering what she's gone through #and if sora can be forgiven bombing a classroom because of trauma why isn't the same courtesy given to icicle? who was still a child btw #wof #wings of fire #icicle #icicle wof #wof icicle #princess icicle

it's amazing how even in my school-related stress dreams 11 years after dropping out, i'm still a massive bitch.

last night i saw a video about how some kiddos these days have electronic hall passes that time how long you shit & i was like "oh, that's For Sure showing up in a nightmare tonight."

and indeed i did dream about being back in high school.

except in the dream i was at a table in my school library opening huge packages of candle-making and soap-making supplies, and the staff were like, "uhm, your lunch period is over in ten minutes," and i was like, "yup. i'm in the middle of something right now, tho. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯" and then when the bell rang, the rest of the dream became about an increasing number of administrators and school cops coming down to try to pry me away from my candle-making hobby while i sat my ass firmly in my chair and went, "put your hands on me. i fucking dare you."

......which is.

Once again I am thinking about becoming an art teacher vs. thinking about how fast I'd get fired if I became an art teacher

#idk I work well with kids but I dunno if I'd survive a classroom overfull of 'em #and like ok sure I could try teaching in Austin or something but the thing is #I would WANT to teach in town or in some other middle of nowhere small town because I feel like #those are the students who like. NEED to have someone teaching them wild ideas about art and communication #and what art can do and what art does and what art has to say #i would get so fired so fucking fast lol some kid would be like 'guess what we did in class today'#and then parents would come down on me for teaching art history to their 12 year olds #and not in the conservative white friendly way hsgshsgshs #oh who am i kidding I'd get fired as soon as parents (or some other teachers!!) find out I'm queer #happened to my 10th grade english teacher #anyway. just having some thoughts tonight
