Honestly I’ve been thinking about it but I think the reason why some might not be as excited about the Sam/Darlin/Quinn storyline is because of the drop of the Fred and Bright Eyes storyline. I feel like without them you sort of lose all the motivation of WHY Sam decided to help Darlin in the first place. You sort of lose the effect Quinn had on Sam’s side and his 2 fledgelings! The pain he feels from being Fredericks maker and the cause of those feelings being the reason Sam and Bright Eyes relationship is so strained. His anger towards Quinn being sort of pushed onto Bright Eyes. We don’t get to see the flaws of Sam and why he works so well with Darlin who also has flaws. We don’t get to see his struggle of being a maker for not one but 2 new vamps. Because again Quinn didn’t just affect the life of Darlin (granted he affected Darlin’s life A LOT) he also affected Sam’s!
Obviously I fully support him dropping it for his mental health! Mental health is very important and should come first always!!! I just think the dropping of that storyline heavily affected the overall Quinn narrative and that’s why it doesn’t have that much weight anymore. And didn’t help the updates for this storyline were pretty long waits which makes sense cause Erik has so many storylines to focus on so of course he can just shovel them out fast! But I think the storyline of Fred and bright would have made getting updates easier cause we are seeing a different side of the story! Sam’s!
I hope no one takes this as me saying Erik is horrible at writing and this whole storyline sucked or whatever! Cause I don’t! I think he’s great even if I haven’t really been consistently listening to his stuff. Just wanted to give my two cents!
Also heard a bunch of people were bullying gba for his Quinn which really sucks. I admit he wouldn’t have been my first choice but I honestly thought his performance was amazing!!! He did really good! And I’m happy he got to play Quinn!
Don’t worry I’m not gonna tag this in the redacted tag cause even though I don’t mean anything I say negatively I don’t want to bum people out with my opinion or have people who enjoyed this storyline to see someone I guess complain about it??? I don’t feel like I’m complaining but I’m blanking on a proper word! Also I’m not a writer so I can’t even say what I’ve said is right or not! It’s just my opinion! My uneducated one! XD
P.S. I will say though the fact Frederick got a name drop in the lastest video but not bright eyes makes me wonder if even still they’re relationship is strained which makes me very sad as a bright eyes fan! ;u;

The new channel 4 documentary on the miners strike is fantastic. It covers different points of view, from the striking miners, to working miners, to the women in striking communities, to the police. It also shows how the Battle of Orgreave on 18th June 1984 was planned and initiated by the police, and how the media (BBC and ITV) covered this up and showed only the police's side, while positioning them as being the victims of miners' violence (which was very minimal to non existent in reality), who simply retaliated because the "restrained...traditional British policing way" (I have to laugh) didn't work.
I also didn't know until watching this that Gareth Peirce, who represented the Guildford Four and the Birmingham Six, also defended mineworkers who were victims of police brutality at Orgreave. What a woman!

Doll faceup under the cut 👍
This doll is one I've wanted for years so i was very excited to get it! To the point i had finished this mockup months ago before the doll even came
All i knew I wanted to do was a very bright makeup look outside of my comfort zone and wanted to use pinks purples and greens to play off the gorgeous wig i got for the doll!
^ the sculpt blank! Literally so so so gorgeous to me :)
The actual faceup proved to be um. Much more difficult than i expected. The grey resin, albeit GORGEOUS, was very hard to figure out what color of blush would work and i ended up wiping my first attempt and giving up on it for a week or so.
^ you can see in these two pics that i was really struggling with the eyebrows. I normally lay down a line of soft pastel and then carve the excess away with a kneadable eraser. The color i first tried on the brows kind of left behind a yellow tint when I tried to clean it. So my only choice was using a watercolor pencil to try and freehand the brows. For context my hands are shaky and i never do it this method. The blush was showing up the right color but the eyeshadow colors were nowhere near pigmented enough but i pressed on.
By the 4th coat the purple and blue shadows were really starting to pop out but the pink still wasn't! No matter how much I put on it was not cooperating 😭 the brows were coming along nicely which I was relieved to see.
The fifth coat was when i finally felt happy with the colors as i had used a darker pink pastel for that area and it finally looked right!
I laid down a bit of the acrylics (eyeliner and lipstick) and tried the new eyes i got for this doll in and it really tied it all together!
Then i added the finishing acrylics and finished probably the most frustrating faceup I'd done in a while (given how it was such an important doll and I was TERRIFIED to mess up)
I added cute moles in black and as a last minute decision did freckles in white but I'm really happy with it :) I'll post a pic soon after i get the wig and eyes on/in and the head reunited with the body!
Bonus pic of how the inside of the head faired with all the pastel layers i had to do!
