ALRIGHTY!! i’ve finally had some time to think and rewatch the finale (and get somewhere with adequate internet connection so i could actually post rip) SOOO here are my still-sorta-scattered thoughts about the final ep!!

so first things first ahem…

NUZI NATION STAND TF UP WE WONNNNN

they’re DATING 😭😭 LIKE THEY’RE BF AND GF THEY ARE ROMANTICALLY INVOLVED IM GOING TO BE SICK I LOVE THEM SO BADDD

they had sooo sooo many adorable, heartwarming moments during this ep i felt like i was going to explodeee.

but that’s not the only thing that had me on the verge of combusting-

FREAKIN V LIVED LETS HECKIN GOOOOO

i KNEW she didn’t die last ep there was no WAYYYY. plus it’s funny to see all the fanart of her taming the sentinel being true in the show lmaooo

ALSO HER AND J’S YURI FIGHT WAS SOOOO GOOD. LIKE?? A REMIX OF ETERNAL DREAM PLAYING WHEN V SHOWED WHATTTT. but this fight wasn’t just visually but the reveal that j was knowingly working with/for cyn was something that i didnt see coming but also don’t completely hate honestly!

i saw a lottttt of people (more specifically j/jessa fans, no shade just saying what i saw🧍‍♀️) who were upset with j’s betrayal and the way she was portrayed, and while i get not liking how she was written, i personally don’t think that this was that out of left field for her?? like?? while i was shocked i was like “i mean, yeah, makes sense.”

AND I COULDN’T POST THIS WITHOUT TALKING ABOUT THE STAR OF THIS EP

guysssss!!!! cyn/flesha was literally at her best in this ep imo!! she was so expressive and silly and genuinely creepy and scary at times like omg?? every time she was on screen i was soooo hooked dude.

AND THE TEAM UZI VS TEAM CYN FIGHT OH MY GOSHHHHHHH.

my friend and i genuinely started tweaking out dude it was so amazing and animated so well 😭 from the nightcore in the bg to the choreo to the general energy of it I JUST RAHHHHH.

the general consensus i've seen regarding this episode is that it felt rushed and while i def agree that it could've and probably should have been longer, of the four times i've rewatched it now, i never really got "rushed" vibes, just- idk how to word it really- but when the episode ended, i didn't get the sense of finality. even tho i've watched it a few times now, it still feels like there's supposed to be more?? esp after the after-credits scene LIKE WDYM THE SOLVER'S PERMINENTLY PART OF UZI NOW??

ALL N ALL, i really loved the ep, i think it was pretty good! there was stuff i def wish were written/handled differently (LIKE THE WAY DOLL'S STORY WRAPPED UP) but i enjoyed it regardless.

I love the golden light in the middle, and how she basically makes up the lower part of the symbol. It reminds me of ribbon. Which is fitting considering we get red string all over this comic. (I still need to go into that at one point)

It makes me wonder if we see the other Zelda's more in this context if they too will get the golden ribbon rather than the red string. As I'm seeing it as a way to show how they are connected like how the links are connected.

I can't even begin to like- as someone who played Sky very early on and had a bunch of periods of playing for a while and stopping and etc etc, not only is it so wonderful to see someone awaken or help others start sky anew with amazing art and a heckin ISAT AU!!!! BUT ALSO?? LIKE your art is so AWESOME and it's like really well done how you draw the group and convey them so well?? And it's so cool seeing how well like, you've merged the two so well??? (PS audino if you're still accepting sky kids but this is my fella Arven (whom I have yet to figure out how to draw well lmao)!! Following your headcanons n my own nerdness I think they follow in the Forest elder steps in creating and having fun (they have a whole bunch of instruments that they hardly know how to play, but enjoy messing around and making little tunes or learning tunes from other skykids) but have also enjoyed hanging around the valley elders when given the chance, though they're not super athletic so they usually stand to the side and cheer on others or end up lookin silly n tripping/slipping when trying to keep up lmao like definitely starts tumbling at the start of the valley pretty often during the big sliding segment)

(Quick) Notes and an Update: Come and Knock on My Door...

So Chapter 12 is up, and it's deadass over 5000 words of Astarion at different levels of unhinged and Tav at different levels of drunk af.

Quick Notes:

ON THE MF EPILOGUE:

OMG y’all, so Patch 5, amirite?!

Given the nature and content of an echo, a stain, OBVIOUSLY I AM EXCITE. 

A couple of things for the record:

Everything through Chapter 12 of this story was written as published before I saw any type of Ascendant epilogue. 

I don’t have an Ascendant Epilogue of my own to review because though I was in EA from jump and have 1700+ hours in this game (lol michaeljordangetsomehelp.gif), I've only completed one playthrough so far and I definitely failed the constitution check to complete the game with Astarion Ascended (listen, I love writing Ascendant Astarion but at the core of my being I'm here for ProcessingTrauma!Astarion and in the game, that's my SpawnStarion, baby)

My beta watched a video of the Ascendant epilogue and took notes, then gave me a bulleted list an echo, a stain was right about both in the parts that have been published, the parts that are still in progress, and the notes/outline for the rest of the story... loool it's a long list. tl;dr an echo, a stain remains pretty canon-compliant even post-epilogue.

I'm going to stop promising things about what I'm going to write in my notes. I really always do this with the best intentions, but once I drop a chapter, very frequently the day gets away from me because dropping the chapter took longer than I thought and/or I have other things to do.

If you have a specific meta question, don't hesitate to ask! I'm a teacher and a librarian and there's nothing I believe harder than "There are no dumb questions."

Normally I try to put out two new chapters each week, but after I dropped Ch 12 I started working on what was supposed to be Ch 13 and this motherfucker turned out to be 24 pages / 10K words.

I'm going to do my damnedest to get it posted today, but the revision process on this thing is already more involved than usual for a number of reasons. My incredible beta whomst I don't even deserve and I are working hard on figuring out how the MANY different things that happen in those 10K words best go together, best fit into the story, and also fix my Britishisms because during that torrent of word vomit I definitely started slipping into my native New Yorker / New Jerseyan f-bomb city patterns here and there. looool

Aight beautiful people, that's what I've got for now. I actually honestly do have about 2K words on alignment, good vs. evil, how they work (in my opinion) in BG3 and this story that are going to be pretty relevant to the HECKIN CHONKER of stuff that's coming up soon, but... we'll get there when we get there. omg, y'all, so my friends who took in the pregnant stray have pretty much given me the task of coming to help socialize the kitties over the next couple months . . . and they're so heckin adorable. they're so small, and their fur is downy, and they're so round. yesterday, we just cycled through holding them all and keeping them warm and getting them used to humans. their mama was very relieved to not have seven kittens piled on top of her. she just went to take a nap somewhere while we cuddled them, and it's so fun to see their personalities beginning to form and watch their curiosities take hold. 🥹

Okay! So the parts of Gojo I love exploring are strangely enough his humanity (if this makes sense omg rip) like the way he interacts with others in any universe and how he shoulders his ties and connections with others I think is so interesting to see in different scenarios! His humanity is so unique and tied distinctly to his abilities and who he is as a sorcerer! So then getting to see how that works in different situations & even sometimes when he’s not a sorcerer has been such a great way to just explore his character more (unfortunately) LOL

And to me his most persistent quality that I believe doesn’t change no matter where or when you drop this moron into, is how silly he can be 😔

He’s such a weird guy and has a weird way of interacting with people and he’s such a peak Sagittarius with how he holds his energy and loves to giggle and even be a bit of a pest but it’s out of a way of wanting to connect with people, he’s so SILLY AND I HATE HIM abdudbehGSYSGHS

Healing AU, tummy kisses:

Tummy kisses are special because they actually were never something that Tommy did: they’re something that Quackity came up with on his own. Maybe he remembers Karl adoring them on days when he was sick and tired and unable to play rough. …Maybe he misses how Sapnap would use them as a way to cheer him up. Maybe he sees how much Dream likes soft belly tickles and decides that he’d probably enjoy some kisses there, too.

At first Dream panics, thinking that Quackity’s about to blow a raspberry. He babbles a bit and then just lies there whimpering and waiting, but…it never comes. Just soft kisses all along his quivering tummy. After around thirty seconds of this he relaxes enough to start giggling a bit, kind of confused. Quackity can’t really tease him — bit busy — but he hums a note that makes him blush anyway. And Sam’s not useless anymore: he’s watching intently, and he starts to whisper soft things about how cute Dream is, and how his tummy is blushing like it’s embarrassed to be receiving such tender kisses. He holds his hands, scratches at his scalp, and continues a rambling monologue praising him for being so sweet and adorable.

Eventually Quackity stops. Dream watches him, clearly wanting something. …Quackity figures it out pretty quickly, but he still plays dumb to make him ask for more tummy kisses out loud.

guxisks ff omgggggg the cutest heckin thing?? quackity just being like “well i guess he’ll probably enjoy some kisses” is so cute :((

my immediate thought is would dream have recieved tummy kisses before?? maybe not?? would sap’s play have been too rough to include them in the early smp days? would george have been too reserved with his affection?? i feel like it’s plausible to say that quackity’s tummy kisses would be the first ones that dream would have ever experienced :((

i love how you described his reaction to itttt. like the panic in preparation for a raspberry, maybe even nibbles (particularly coz he knows he can’t squirm away too much),, the confusion, and then the bubbly giggles afterwards :(( like just not knowing how to react at all and not really understanding why it tickles. i love the idea of a certain spot below his belly button causing his legs to twitch and kick out (the best they can), and for his laugh to jump into cackles for a moment. and i also love the idea of him melting back into sam, and trying to twist to shield his face or at least hide himself away from the flustering sight of his belly bouncing between tickly kisses

sam gently crooning at him as well 😭 like everything you described there is so perfect (the blushing tummy 😭),, and his added forms of affection like hand holding and head pets,,, dream squirms the best as he can in his lap. also kinda love the idea of sam placing his own kisses into dreams temple and neck, all while he’s reminding dream about how cute and safe he is :(( and OMG dreams reaction to it stopping!!! like his belly is still buzzing from ghost tickles, giggles still tumbling out of his mouth,,, and yet as soon as he feels it stop he lifts his head up to meet the gaze of quackitys.

it’s pretty cute to imagine that he doesn’t even mean to show it on his face that he was enjoying the kisses, and that he would in fact want it to continue. and therefore quackity pointing it out and making him ask would be so much more flustery. like his realisation that he was that readable, and then the embarrassment of being encouraged to ask and admit that he was enjoying himself. he’s so cuteee ahhhhhh!!! and i LOVE that it’s quackitys idea i adore all of this omfggggg

also can’t help but think about tommy walking into this situation instead of the other one :(( like dream being double embarrassed and tommy just being so happy and proud 🥲
