i wrote an interactive poem for my girlfriend in 3 parts. she said you need to read it.

go here: take only the final quiz or take all 3. i don't mind. it's sad, though. this is a poem about choice. about fate and mental illness and how love fits inside of all of it. this is a poem about a long dark hallway. mostly this is a poem about mango sushi rolls.

And it's only... 51 days late. It's fine it's fine #Thanks to everybody in the dfpu chat who helped me come up with stuff to doodle for the border. It was a big help and a lot of fun!#we really did recreate what is going on in the drawing!#also thanks to snails muffin and terror for the animation pointers & terminology #Smear frames were def the way to go! Not whatever I was trying to do before asking for help #I guess this counts as my first *real* animation so hooray!#I *might* use some of the remaining prompts for future drawings but at this point I have other things I want to work on #even though I was only able to finish a few of these I felt like I still learned a lot #it definitely got me into the habit of drawing every day #and I'm still doing that so this event was a big win in my book!#and no joke I really did color pick from the load cursor just so I could do the silly spinning thing

#personal #finally did it after dropping out three times when i was 19 and severely mentally chill #it nearly killed me (IF i do a Master's i will do so on a part time basis)#the chronic migraine flare up was truly hell #but i learned so much about Art History and the Middle Ages<3 #and not to brag #but i won two departmental awards with cash prizes :-)#and received funding to take a short trip to “further my research before graduate school”#and my professor is talking to me about how to submit an essay i wrote to actually be published..like in a proper art history journal?!#also my lovely advisor had my family over for Prosecco in her backyard and invited me to visit her in Paris 🥹#idk if anything will come of this at all tbh #i'm ready to be sealed up in the Mausoleum of Galla Placidia #for like one year minimum to recover from this past year of having a migraine nearly every day while taking a full course load :/#and i have no idea what's next beyond living with my parents #but i did it & proved to myself that i'm actually not lazy at all #in fact given what i had to overcome i'm actually very hard working and so strong #happy to know that about myself finally 🌻🌻🌻

in case anyone was wondering i would not reccomend picmix as a drawing program

#chicken scribbles #miku #every brush stroke took like 5 seconds to load and i couldnt do another brush stroke until the previous one loaded #i couldnt move my pen too fast or for too long or else itd cover my screen in zigzags #the undo button only goes back like 3 times #you only get one layer to work with #you cant put anything under the drawing except whatever background you put in #the coloring is really weird because you Can make your own colors but it always looks very . bad #so you kinda have to go with the inks other people have made #but also as far as i know you cant color pick so you have to memorize what inks youve used #it was just #oh my god. would not reccomend.

#technically one of those is an archivist to tag #but its mostly just sketching #toh archivists #i think i'm sick again or i guess still #it's been a while like that for months #maybe thats just what the baseline now is #but jegus ive been so tired its unreal #waking up from after 16h and the fatigue is still there #always present #always extreamly annoying #waking up rested is a scam by the big sleep #just sitting for a while feels like challange #and sitting is supposed to be the “resting” thing for sake #a cheat code to actually try and prep for the exams to just lie on the floor with laptop #kinda feels like having those reloadable batterijs that got charged too many times and now dont load fully anymore #but still give off charge they accumulated at the same speed as before so it SEEMS they work normally #just way way shorter #i am guessing this is just the depresso and anemia doing its thing #or whatever other things this mortal vessel might have wrong #also fun fakt did you know having very low iron can manifest itself as depressive episode #getting “hasnt the depresso been getting worse lately” from a general doc just looking at blood was a shock #eat your beets kids #if anyones actually reading this dont be concerned #this is just my complaining corner #to complain #im getting meds for those its just dreadfully slow #and i have a supportive guinea pig that's being a menace more than usual lately

Hi! I wanted to ask if you're self taught or if you went to some sort of artistic higher education (obvsly you don't have to specify where or anything lol) I'm an aspiring artist and I hear a lot of debate abt whether art school is actually worth it, and I love your works so I wanted to know about your journey if that makes sense

I did go to art school!! However I mostly attribute my degree to my success in the graphic design field rather than the freelance art field (for context Im a designer for one of Anheuser-Busch’s biggest suppliers/warehouses) in terms of inner circle connections if that makes sense. I 100% learned a lot of important art stuff from college, especially when it comes to using color and shadow, but in all honestly I feel like none of it really “clicked” until I graduated and was actually able to make what I wanted rather than having my work constantly be transmogrified by professors who kept steering my art in directions I didn’t gaf about.

I do attribute my success as an online artist more to the fact I was just super autistic about My Little Pony when I was 12 and it was so powerful it just drove me to start drawing and posting it. Which led me to closed species which led me to art communities which led me to playing with different species which led me to developing a style which led to- *the sniper takes me out*

#if you live in mid Michigan and noticed a fuck load of salmon Busch light ads that’s all me. Smiles.#(I did not make the design. a lot of the work I do is with premade assets.)#which is perfect for me so I don’t get creative burnout #as much.#Most of my professors helped with forming the art basics but towards my last year or so I kept having my art projects redirected #in ways that just completely destroyed the message and feel I was going for and I do feel like it set me back #but we move #ask
