If you were the wedding planner of a Luiasy wedding how would you arrange it? What would the location be? What would the theme of the wedding be? And what extras would you add towards the outfits of the bride and groom?

Aaaaahhh this took me forever to get to 😭 @kelbreyworshipper I’ll be real with you, when you sent me this ask, I was walking to my chem final, and I read your prompt and I was like “ummmmm 😳”

Buuut I think it’s safe to say I had enough time to cook, plus it was a fun challenge, so I hope you enjoy this! It's pretty long, so read at your own pace hehe

First of all, I’ve chosen this day in particular to post the becaaauuuseeee…

Today (or yesterday wherever you are) is/was the one-year anniversary of my very first Luaisy drawing! BOY how far we’ve come. Now without further ado…

= LUAISY WEDDING =

This wedding was months in the making. Peach and Mario self-appointed themselves (even though it was obvious from the get-go) to the maid of honor and best man, so they worked tirelessly to ensure everything was perfect and better.

Each Mario lady had an essential part to play in this wedding:

Peach Maid of honor. Her role was to find the best venue for the wedding and send out invites to the Mushroom Kingdom and the other kingdoms within Sarasaland. But Peach being Peach with her overenthusiasm for weddings, carried 95% of the wedding planning and wedding day on her back. Of course, everyone gave her her flowers in the end. Mario definitely made sure she knew she was appreciated

Daisy was a 5'11" sack of nerves for her wedding, so Peach took it in her hands to calm her down, assuring her that it was completely normal to feel that way, and had to keep reminding her of how much Luigi loved her and that he wants this as much as she does. She also reminded Daisy that she should be elated because this is her special day. Peach would know all about it. ;)

Peach ran through the wedding, had multiple (maybe more than needed) rehearsals, and coordinated the wedding dinner that Daisy and Luigi would have.

Pauline Bridesmaid, wedding designer, and performer. I headcanon Pauline to be the most fluent in fashion and designing among the Mario ladies, and it was her who Peach took sewing up. Peach invited Pauline to a lot of her and Daisy's shopping trips for wedding dresses, getting her advice on what would suit her and Luigi's taste for their wedding day.

Pauline also performed at their wedding, doing solo performances, and then concluding with her band.

Rosalina Bridesmaid and vow writer. Even though Rosa is not a woman of many words, when she does have something to say, people are listening.

Out of the ladies, she's the biggest bookworm, spending time in her observatory reading and writing when she can. This makes her an amazing poet. All her close friends find it hard to believe that she doesn't have a significant other. She has shared some of her poems with her friends, and it was a wonder how none of them fell in love with her.

But Daisy called her up (or down) to help her write her vows, and Rosa was more than happy to help. She helped her organize her thoughts and feelings for Luigi and what their relationship truly meant to her. Rosa also helped to plan, outline, revise, and maybe wrote some parts of it herself.

She oversaw all parts of the writing process, yet, when Daisy recited those words back to Luigi on their wedding day, she reacted as if it were her very first time hearing it; tears in her eyes and hands clasped together. She was so proud.

Toadette Bridesmaid and master chef. And even better... free of charge! She was cooking up a storm with the help of other Toad chefs for Daisy and Luigi's special day. The two still provided her and her crew a very generous tip (Luigi is loaded here).

Mario

Best man. With Mario and Luigi, it was pretty much the same story with Peach and Daisy, except Luigi was ten times worse. It took Mario a great deal of effort and convincing Luigi to not call off the wedding, just because of the mere thought of Daisy possibly having second thoughts.

Mario did everything a typical best man would do at a wedding and more, making sure everything was in order, and not a single detail was out of place. Right before, during, and after the wedding, he used at least 3 full rolls of tissue paper.

Another thing on the performance line-up... I'm gonna go ahead and yoink @silenzahra's musician bros hc and say that Mario does a surprise performance for Luigi and Daisy. It’s a song that is a testament to his and Luigi’s bond, which obviously immediately gets Luigi choked up.

As Mario was singing and playing the guitar, it felt so wrong for Mario to be singing their song on his own, so Luigi joined him on the stage, grabbing a mic left behind from Pauline's band group and singing alongside him. Cue forehead touches, and lots of hugging, crying, and ‘I love you’s.

Wedding Location and Theme

I 100% believe that their wedding would take place outside. Daisy and Luigi wanted a large, open space with a nice landscape view with not too many manmade buildings. So uh, Brooklyn was out of the question, not that they minded. Daisy decided to make use of the Chai Kingdom (one of the four Kingdoms in Sarasaland) and its naturistic feel.

And then the post-wedding dinner and performances would all take place here:

(Basically, just imagine all of this but green and orange-themed lol)

As for the theme, I feel that they’d go with a fairytale-themed wedding! That, or a forest-themed wedding; green and orange are earthy colors, so I want their wedding to reflect that.

Again, yoinking @silenzahra's Luigi the bookworm hc, I’d like to think that one of the ways Luigi and Daisy grew closer was from reading together, and the National Book Days in Sarasaland. Once Daisy got more into reading, Luigi encouraged her to venture out in her castle’s library and find some genres that she liked. They both noticed that she seemed to gravitate towards stories that were more adventure-packed, as well as fairytales, mythological, and fictional stories. Daisy has a very active imagination and loves otherworldly visuals, so Luigi was more than happy to incorporate that into their wedding theme.

The bridesmaids and maid of honor are decked in golden dresses (for ya girl), and the groomsmen and best man are decked in emerald green (for ya boy). For the wedding guests’ attire… there is not a single trace of black to be found! The wedding looked like a rainbow that threw up all the colors in the visible spectrum.

To honor Pride Month… let’s just say Rosa is looking for that special someone… right beside her ;)

Lumas

I’m adding the Lumas (plus Lumalee of course!) to be the flower children! The wedding would be decked with 75-100 lumas of all different colors and purposes. They would be the ambiance for the wedding, especially when the sun sets, and at nighttime. The wedding would still use fairy lights in case the Lumas didn't cooperate (was never an issue). But... just imagine dozens of bright moving lights with sparkles trailing behind them in the night sky.

Groomsmen, Ring Bearer, Maid of Honor and Best Man (tumblr has me on a pic limit here 😮‍💨): Wario, Waluigi, and Toad; Yoshi; Mario and Peach

Yeah, Wario and Waluigi were invited, as long as they promised to behave. And if not, Daisy and her family will set em straight… and Mario if they even dare think about ruining his baby brother’s day. The two weren’t so fond of the dress code at first, but they sucked it up. Eventually, emerald green grew on them.

Wario: I look like a leprechaun!

Waluigi: Wah! How bad can this possibly be? (Iykyk)

Also, the tie Mario is wearing was handcrafted by Luigi when they were kids. ;’)

I also really wanted to draw Daisy’s dad sending her off. I absolutely LOVE @itsavee4117’s interpretation of him (aka King “Marshmallow” Cris), so I’m yoinking him here toooo~

Post-Wedding

Like I said earlier, plenty of food will be provided by Toadette and her crew, and there will be endless games. They would mostly be Mario Party-styled, but there would also be some sports like tennis or mini-golf. That all happens after the newlyweds have their dance and cake. Let’s just say for an itty-bitty second of time, they recreate the dance of all dances.

After all the fun has been had, the two are driven into the moonlight by Toadsworth with a “JUST HITCHED” sign on the back of his Parade Kart from MK Double Dash. They’d be transported in this very familiar fashion.

i know it was sometimes mentioned but fast forward what careers do you guys think each character would have? would they be sucessful?

Hazel: Concert pianist. With age, she would grow more patient and start mentoring younger pianists. She’d never become a full-time teacher, but she's very fond of the students she's mentoring.

Jace: Works in management at a company for some time. Later becomes a manager at a start-up surrounding games and apps. Surprisingly good at his job, considering he hates managing his own life.

Adrian: Works in human resources. He works to live, so he doesn't care too much about the specifics of his job as long as it's a nice workplace.

Cameron: Sports therapist. Coaches kids basketball on the weekends. When his younger brother Cyan grows up, he becomes a pro athlete and always cites Cam as his role model.

Stephanie: Kindergarten teacher. She also does violin classes for kids and is very passionate about both.

Zoe: Event planner, but she retires young to travel the world. If she's married and her partner doesn't enjoy traveling too much, they just buy a beach house to visit during holidays but Zoe will still go on solo trips every now and then.

My Pax Unplugged recap

This was my busiest con appearance yet to date. I was on four panels and worked a booth, basically whenever I wasn't on those panels.

The Pros:

I LOVE working with Mythic Grove. Gabe and Elise are so special to me, it's an absolute breeze playing the Session Zero System all day, and I got to meet so many incredible people with wonderful minds.

Every panel I was on was a banger. But the Game Jam? That was the absolute best. watching people get weird and creative and create games and share them in real time - astounding. mind-blowing. I'm changed forever. I'm doing that again, hands down.

My friends. (most of) The Atomless crew was there, Haley was there, Gabe was there, all my friends from LA and Canada, it was just a joy to see and touch these people who I love so much.

Some people I have been acquaintances with previously, who I finally met in person, feel like brand new friends.

The Cons:

I worked TOO much. I needed to be like, 25% less busy so I could see a little more and enjoy my friends a little more. I did not see the con floor pretty much at all, and there are so many people I did not even realize were THERE. So, next year I need to dial it back JUST a little.

I am a disorganized trip planner, so like every trip, I wound up with last minute scrambles and chaos. Not the fault of pax. Just my usual.

I wanted to buy myself SOMETHING special. A new solo RPG or notebook or anything that would be just for me. But, alas, did not walk the con floor so I did not do that.

I used to work as a patient education event planner, and now (as of January, when I moved into leadership), I don't. I had one last large event, our signature annual event, to wrap up before I officially and fully handed the torch of my job off to my replacement. My replacement just started last week, and I've been training him.

I was super stressed about the event yesterday, because part of it involved public speaking to a group of 250 people (in-person) and another 200 virtually. :/ But it went well! It was great to see a lot of the friends I've made amongst the patients in the community over the last 7 years in attendance at the event. It was even better to watch the event unfold and know it was my last time doing this, and that I have no stakes in it anymore. It was even better to walk New Guy through everything he would have to do to plan future conferences and symposiums. Emphasis on he, not me.

Event planning on the large scale is incredibly challenging. I have some fond memories of holding events all over the state over 7 years, driving hundreds of miles across Minnesota in the very early hours of the morning, watching the sun rise, fueled by a Holiday gas station coffee. I spent most of my twenties doing this. It used to bring me adrenaline, joy, and accomplishment to plan an event, basically solo. In 2020, I pivoted to Zoom symposiums, and in 2022, I pivoted back to in-person. But paradoxically, event planning became more and more challenging for me the longer I stayed in the job. I'm incredibly happy and grateful to have moved on.

I used to carry boxes of stuff with me to every patient education event. Boxes or bags filled with patient ed literature, signage for the event, etc. It was heavy to carry and it always took multiple trips to and from the venue and my car. It was pretty liberating to take all of that with me yesterday for one last time and set it up one last time in the morning - and then hand it all off to New Guy when I left. I got to walk out of the venue with nothing more than my own backpack with my laptop and wallet in it. It felt very symbolic of finally closing this chapter in my life and moving on.

Other notes,

I've had issues with sleep since I was a young teenager. I was basically incapable of sleeping through the night. Every night, like clockwork, I would wake up between 3 to 5 AM and be unable to fall back asleep for at least 1.5 hours - despite melatonin, exercising during the day, etc. My psychiatrist suggested trying magnesium supplements. I've been taking it at night for almost 10 days now. For the first time in almost two decades, I'm sleeping through the night. It's amazing.

Roy Jamie Keeley 11, 22, 45 for the otp ask!!

11. Do either try to hide their emotions if upset? Can the other still tell?

I don't think Roy could hide being upset if he tried. It is so very apparent when Roy is a Mood to literally everyone around him.

With Jamie, my first instinct is to say he wouldn't try to his emotions from them! However we did see him spiraling in Mom City without telling anyone, so I think it can happen. In that case, Roy was able to still tell! And then as we saw in the boot room, Jamie cracked immediately as soon as Roy confronted him. Which is to say, I think Jamie might attempt to hide things when he doesn't really know how to verbalize what he's feeling. (a la the "What's wrong" "I don't know, I don't know..." panic). Like, sometimes he's upset and he doesn't really know WHY he's upset so he feels like there's nothing to tell them, really, and then he convinces himself it's not a big deal and therefore not worth worrying them about. I still don't think he's intentional about hiding his emotions from them, he just has a tendency to close himself off when his emotions aren't really clear even to himself. However, Roy and Keeley recognize when this happens, and with their mildest of prompting Jamie is usually ready to talk.

Keeley would definitely be the most intentional about hiding her emotions, but only when she's upset about something that feels like a personal failing on her part. I think Keeley has a lot of feelings of inadequacy esp. in her career and she does have a history of hiding when she's struggling from the most important people in her life (Roy in s2, Rebecca in s3, etc.) I think Jamie is probably better and picking up when this is happening than Roy, but sometimes it takes their combined efforts and sometimes they do miss it completely. Keeley has to work really hard on learning to be honest and open up about things she's struggling internally with. However, if she's upset for EXTERNAL reasons she absolutely lets them know about it. Very passionately.

22. What reminds each of their partner?

Reminds Keeley of Jamie: anything football (obvs), very excitable dogs (lol), clothes/accessories she sees whilst shopping she just KNOWS he would love, the smell(stench) of Lynx 🙅‍♀️, her relationship playlist she definitely has for each of them

Keeley of Roy: football and the relationship playlists, again. Roy's cologne (Roy definitely has a signature scent to ME. It is a very high end cologne that he either found by chance or perhaps was gifted, really likes, and will never change because finding a new scent in the fragrance section with the two of them both weighing in sounds like hell on earth), aromas coming from the kitchen, ice cream and breakfast pastries

Jamie of Keeley: fuzzy blankets/pillows, designer shoes, anything that's little and cute (knick-knacks!!), nice and long cathartic talks, soft fabrics, flowers

Jamie of Roy: his beard oil, muppets :), the early morning breeze, airport book sections, any sort of weird obscure kitchen utensil he has know idea what it's used for (and therefore thinks, 'Roy would definitely know this'), really fancy & good cocktails

Roy of Jamie: vanilla vodka, windmills, muppets :), the color Pink, really stupid jokes he hears from other people and finds himself laughing at even though he doesn't find them funny. He's really just thinking about how hard Jamie would be laughing if he was there

Roy of Keeley: the color pink, glitter/sparkles, butterflies, planners/notebooks/any sort of organizational supplies, loopy handwriting, actual sunshine

45. Can they fall asleep without the other?

I think they have to by virtue of their lives/jobs. For instance, Jamie bunks with other players at away games even once he's dating Roy. Keeley goes to conferences and takes solo trips, etc. They all CAN sleep apart but they definitely feel coziest and safest when it's all three of them together, and whenever one person is gone and the other two are still at home, the bed feels too big without that person :(

been 5 months since i've continued this series so welcome back to 47(!) MORE HEADCANONS ABOUT STEVEN

- steven has incredibly thin and soft hair, a trait he got from his mother. attempting to put anything in his hair (a hair tie, bobby pins, ect) is a lost cause as whatever he tries to put in his hair WILL end up on the floor five minutes later.

- he's never educated on the latest hip trends and sayings. by the time he finally gets to understanding some new lingo, that phrase is on the way out.

- in a huge contrast to his disdain of his female fans, steven is a lot more relaxed and down to earth with his younger male fans. he'll willingly take selfies and sign autographs for younger boys who give him the respect and patience he desires!

- he's the type to always have an extra blanket on hand every night. even in the dead heat of hoenn's summer. just in case the temperature somehow drops over sixty degrees.

- a part of him secretly enjoys doing boring pokemon league paperwork, only because it gives him an excuse to not be bothered by anyone or anything.

- steven is terrible at accepting praise involving his personal achievements. if you compliment him, he'll likely start a debate on how he's not THAT special and you're just being too kind. he's humble to an infuriating degree.

- due to being raised as a pretty sheltered and spoiled child, steven sometimes has moments where he loses touch with other people in a conversation and freely talk over them. he'll just keep rambling, not knowing that who he's talking to is upset or angry until he's told to shut up.

- he's the guy with the Infuriatingly Perfect Planner. despite having a planner, he tends to scribble important details given to him on his hand/wrist instead.

- after abandoning his sinnoh vacation home, steven instantly bought another vacation home in unova to fill the void and to be close to all the caves there. he's currently looking into available real estate in the paldea region as well.

- steven almost always stands up straight and proper. if he's slouching for any reason, there's probably something bothering him. most likely about his not-straightness.

- he never tends to stay up late into the night. literally incapable of pulling an all-nighter.

- steven loves to read! you would think he's a fan of nonfiction/informational books, but has a modest collection of various fantasy and fairytale books he inherited from his mother. he also does have a pair of reading glasses he uses every so often.

- whenever it rains, steven likes to sit by a window and simply watch the rain roll through. bonus if it's in the morning and he's just finished making his cup of tea!

- he's been added to an instant messaging group with all the regional champions. he never sends messages in the chat, and has only done so once: simply telling everyone "i am muting this conversation." mute it he did.

- rarely, on some warm evenings in mossdeep city, you may be able to hear steven sitting at the cliff's edge near his house and playing a medley of songs on a flute. once word gets out, he ends up drawing a small crowd for his solo concert.

- geologists lick rocks. steven stone licks rocks.

- steven owns a mudkip! he got him from wallace, who simply handed over a mudkip to him with no warning one day. this mudkip happens to be steven's only nicknamed pokemon as he seldom sees any battle and is more of a companion pokemon: steven named him olivine.

- while great at a lot of card games, steven's best game is blackjack. do not bet anything against him if he suggests you play blackjack with him. you ARE going to lose.

- if he's on a longer trip out of hoenn, you're pretty much guaranteed to see steven when it's evening and if the hotel he's staying at has a bar. especially if he's staying in galar.

- steven is ambidextrous! he simply grew up learning how to use both hands well. he tends to use his right hand for most tasks to the point of people assuming he's right handed, but particularly favors writing (and by extension other tasks with a pen) with his left.

- his house is a lowkey mess even if you don't take the scattered rock displays into account. since barely anybody comes over, steven is content with leaving various things in places they shouldn't be, not folding clothes, among other lazy homeowner things.

- one way to tell if steven is not in a perfect headspace is paying attention to his vocabulary. he'll instinctively start using galarian terms if something's on his mind.

- if he's around mainland hoenn and has free time, steven will visit his gym leaders! he enjoys trading friendly conversation with his fellow hoenn league members.

- due to living in mossdeep city, his most frequent gym leader visits are with tate and liza. he always enjoys saying hello to the twins and making their days: the number of times steven has taken the two out for ice cream per their begging is in the double digits.

- steven owns a LOT of hand-me-down clothes from wallace. since he's considerably smaller than his friend and their clashing styles, a lot of that clothing has the sole use of making him less recognizable when he's out in public and REALLY doesn't feel like being bothered.

- rarely, you'll be able to catch steven with perfectly painted nails. it's never his own idea, though: moreso an intervention from wallace after seeing steven bite his nails again.

- steven's favorite settlement in hoenn is lilycove city. there's a contest hall, a relaxing ocean view, and he's definitely biased due to him and wallace meeting in lilycove almost a decade ago.

- for his favorite galar city, wyndon city is his pick. the few years he was raised abroad by his mother, he stayed in wyndon city!

- behind his cutesy pretty boy personality and friendly charm, there's a surprising amount of hatred for the few people steven dislikes. if you've gotten yourself onto his list of enemies, he's more than willing to fuck your day up. out of pure, unfiltered spite.

- he's surprisingly good at math. to compensate, his skills with the deeper nuances of written language are his bane. he's extremely proficient with the task of writing itself, but he cannot tell you what a haiku is or what alliteration even means.

- he has no real preference when it comes to his favorite music genre, and he's very open to listening to new styles. but fitting for his name, he does somewhat enjoy more laid-back rock music if he needs to stay a bit more alert for whatever reason.

- in the event that his reign as hoenn's champion ever ended, steven has gone on the record with some news outlets and stated that he'd have no interest in becoming a gym leader. all because he knows the chairperson of the hoenn league would kick him out due to how much time he'd spend in caves instead of doing his job.

- steven doesn't really get along with the hoenn league chairperson. once he's dropped his "cutesy pretty prince" facade during business meetings, he always has to remind himself that he dislikes how pushy the chairperson can be, and how he's treated as a prodigy being one of the youngest regional champions.

- for similar reasons, he actively dislikes geeta. he simply doesn't think too fondly of people who go too far in pushing the best out of people. this is a quite rare change for steven, as he's known for getting along with pretty much every other regional champion.

- he doesn't like small children he doesn't know. if asked to watch a small child for any reason, steven will only look at said child in a "the hell am i supposed to do with this?" way and not concern himself with them. but if a kid starts acting nicely towards him, he can't help but return the sweetness. it might be his curiosity about what it would be like to have kids, as he's not interested in having any children of his own.

- he doesn't really do much in terms of celebrating holidays. it's mostly a "oh it's a holiday today, neat" thing. he actively dislikes ANY "holiday season" event, as his mother died very close to the december festivities.

- steven is an expert at ghosting people. he doesn't like replying to emails, mundane text messages, or any of the "fun facts" wallace finds from social media and sends him at two in the morning. he's not a good texting penpal if you dislike being left on read.

- he's VERY prone to jet lag. whenever steven has to attend a meeting in another region for any reason, he'll be asleep for half of it.

- steven has made a small secret base for himself in meteor falls! having a secret base in hoenn's largest cave system is a perfect excuse for him to go caving for literal days at a time.

- the record for the longest steven has ever caved in his life stands at three weeks and two days. he did this after almost accidentally outing himself during a sudden paparazzi "interview," hoping that if he just stayed away from the public they'd forget.

- steven never reads any mail he gets. he can't be bothered to sort through a mountain of fan letters from every girl in hoenn to find official newsletters and notices.

- he never opens fangirl letters anymore, either. his floors have seen enough glitter and confetti for a lifetime.

- he's almost accidentally set his entire kitchen on fire before: all because he tried to cook a cup of cheap macaroni and cheese and forgot to add the water. wallace actually gave steven the mudkip right after this, somewhat poking fun at steven's blunder.

- out of all the regional champions, steven is one of the youngest, and holds the title of the youngest adult to reign as champion. he's doted on fairly often by cynthia and lance specifically due to this. it does not help that he's also the shortest adult champion. (throwback to volume 2: he's 167cm tall)

- he's held his position as champion since he was eighteen years old. he has no plans to step down: he's vowed to only relinquish his title if someone can actually win a league conference, take down his elite four, and then himself. he's gone as far as to say that he'll die with the hoenn champion title if nobody can get to him before his demise.

- with paldea being a place on his radar, he's shown interest in being an adjunct professor at the academy for a semester and has written letters about these wishes to the academy's director. but like all his letters he sends to other region officials, nobody seems interested in replying.

"We're here, sir," I look up from my phone as I notice the car stop and one of the doors is opened.

I lock my phone screen just before they open my door as well and I step out of the car, thanking the driver as he holds my door. I turn, finding Jack offering me his hand to walk with him towards the doors of the building. Since I've been with him again, he's started to be more affectionate towards me.

Today I am accompanying him to a small meeting he is having with one of the producers of Good Morning Britain to discuss the issues and questions he will be asked in his interview next Monday. After the meeting he has promised to take me out for dinner and we will talk about some wedding preparations, tomorrow we have one last meeting with the wedding planners before my trip to New York for the Met.

Jack lets me through the doors of the building first as I thank the man holding the door for us to pass. It's been over a year and a half since I've been to The London Studios, the last time I was here was for an interview on The Graham Norton Show at the end of 2015.

"Mr Walker?" a young woman in a suit approaches us, stretching out her hand towards Jack “I'm Amanda Ross, Mr Gordon's personal assistant, I've been sent to take you to the room where he'll be meeting you.”

"This is my fiancée, Hailey Foster," Jack replies as they shake hands.

"Nice to meet you, miss," we also shake hands a little. "Well, if you'd like to follow me, I'll show you the way. "

We start walking towards a lift and Amanda pushes the button to call it. We stand still in silence waiting for the lift.

"Are you both going to appear at the interview?" asks Amanda once the lift doors open and we step inside.

"It will just me, the interview is about business, we haven't agreed to any interviews about our relationship with anyone yet," Jack replies as I pull out my phone and start looking at my Twitter feed.

"Mr Gordon had mentioned something about that to me this morning but with all the fuss they have at the studios today with meetings and preparations I haven't had much time to get back to him before they arrived."

"Are they very busy?"

"A little busier than a normal Friday, but don't worry, Mr. Gordon won't be late for his meeting, I promise," the girl replies as the lift doors open again and we step out into a hallway where there are several doors to what appear to be meeting rooms.

We walk towards one of them, and she opens the door and gives us room to pass through first. Inside the room is a man sitting at the meeting table, who quickly rises to greet us.

"Welcome, I'm Erron Gordon," he introduces himself as he and Jack shake hands. “It’s nice to meet you, Mr. Walker. "

"Pleasure to meet you, this is my partner, Hailey." replies Jack placing a hand on my lower back.

"This girl is the great Hailey Foster, I'm proud to meet a music star like you. "

"Thank you, you' re very flattering," I reply.

"Sorry I didn't greet you at the entrance myself but they were doing some sound checks in Studio 1 for tonight's Graham Norton performance and I had to be around for a bit."

"How come you're so busy today?" asks Jack, "Your assistant also told us that you were busier than usual.

"We had some problems with the programme team during the rehearsal for today's guest performance and we spent the whole morning trying to sort it out, which we finally managed to do."

"And who is the guest? Someone important?"

"Well, maybe your girlfriend already knows, being former members of the same band she has to know that Harry Styles is going to do his first live solo performance on British television."

They both turn to look at me and I can't hide my surprise. I had no idea Harry could be here.

Oh, shit.

I'm still fresh enough from the 2 hour conversation with Niall, Louis and Liv yesterday, where they were trying to give me advice on how to handle a reunion with Harry. But I'm not ready, not at all.

"The truth is I haven't seen him for a long time, you know, to start a solo career you have to get away from the rest a bit," I say as I try to smile." I had no idea he was performing today.

"If you'd like, while Mr. Walker and I discuss the details of the interview, Amanda could accompany you to the studio where Graham's show is being recorded. You can go and say hello, if you like. "he proposed me as he pointed to his assistant.

See Harry? Now? I don't know if it's the best option. I haven't planned anything, I don't know what to say to him. Should I apologise for abandoning him in a dressing room last time? Act normal? And best of all, should I tell him I'm engaged?

Before I can answer for myself, Erron interrupts me again.

"I think that's a great idea, so we can talk about the interview without you getting bored, Hailey. Plus you can catch up with your former bandmate."

"I don't know, maybe I'm going to be annoying on the recording."

"Of course not, Amanda will accompany you and she knows how they work on the show, don't worry. You won't be any bother."

I know it's a bad idea, my instinct tells me this is all too rushed.

"Go if you want to," says Jack. "Here maybe you get bored waiting. "

I nod, as Jack leaves a kiss on my cheek and starts walking towards one of the chairs.

"I figure we won't be much longer than three quarters of an hour, we're just going to run over the interview topics and questions briefly. "

"Don't worry Mr. Gordon, I'll make sure she' s back on time and you don't have to wait," Amanda replies, reopening the door. "Shall we go now, Miss Foster?"

"Of course." I walk towards the door, turning before I walk through it." we'll be right back."

Jack and Erron nod and Amanda closes the office door.

We return to the lift and when we're in it, Amanda selects the reception floor and the lift doors close. She leans against one of the walls while I stand in the middle of the elevator car, watching the number of floors change.

"So...how long have you been working here?" I ask and that makes her lift her gaze from the floor and look at me, I try to start a small conversation so as not to be in awkward silence.

"Over half a year, at first I was just an intern but Mr. Gordon needed an assistant when my college internship ran out and I was lucky enough to be chosen for the position."

"Do you like working here...gosh, I just realised it feels like I'm taking a questionnaire about your job, I'm sorry."

"It doesn't matter, really" he replies with a small laugh." I like working here, everyone in the studio is very nice and Mr. Gordon is a good boss."

"I'm glad you like your job."

"Do you like your job?" she asks me, but the sound of the lift arriving on our floor interrupts me as I was about to answer.

“Reception," the lift then says.

"Here we're"The lift doors open, but before Amanda steps out, I answer her question.

"I like my job, not every day or all the things I do but most of the time, yes," I reply and she smiles at me before stepping out of the lift.

"We just have to walk a bit, the dressing rooms in studio 1 are close by," she explains as we walk down a corridor.

"I think I remember where they might be, I've been here before for Graham's show too. "

As we walk through the studio, I notice how the walls seem to be decorated with promotional posters for the shows, adding a bit of colour to the grey corridors of the studio.

"Ross!" we both turn, a girl comes running down the corridor and stops just a few feet from where we're standing. "You're needed in studio 3."

"Now? I'm a bit busy."

"I've been told not to come back without you or Gordon, as soon as possible," she replies and Amanda turns to me again.

The dressing rooms in studio 1 are just around that corner in the first corridor on the right, would you mind if I let you go there by yourself," she says as she turns and waves to me, "I promise I'll get there as soon as I can. "

"Sure, no problem, I don't think I'll get lost," I reply smiling and she starts walking towards her companion.

"You won't even notice you' re alone, I swear."

And saying this, they both start to walk quickly back to where the girl had come from, talking about what had happened in studio 3. I turn to where Amanda had indicated me, walking to the next corner, now alone.

As I turn the corner to continue into the next corridor, I collide with someone, losing my own balance slightly and hearing something fall as the person I've collided with curses. I look down at the floor, watching as a boy quickly crouches down near an electric guitar case.

"I'm so sorry, I didn't see you, I was distracted," I apologise as I crouch down next to him, watching him open the guitar case.

“It's all right, I was the one running down the corridor carelessly," he replies, pushing his hair out of his face with one hand while the other continues to check his guitar.

"Is it all right?

"Looks like it," he puts the guitar back in its place and closes the case, "it would be very bad luck to break the guitar that I just played for the first time on British television, also my favourite guitar."

For the first time since our collision, the boy raises his head to look at me, he seems surprised to see me. I look at him too but I don't recognise him from anywhere, he has long hair and is dressed in a flashy red suit. We both stand up and he continues to stare at me.

"You're Hailey." he says simply and I stand there waiting for him to say something else." Mmm, the girl from...One Direction, of course."

"Excuse me, but have we met before," I ask, confused by how hesitant he seems now that he's recognised me.

"I don't think so, well, I know who you are but you don't know me," he replies and stretches out his hand that doesn't hold his guitar. "I'm Mitch."

"I don't want it to sound like an insult but, you seem like a very peculiar person to me, Mitch." I reply as I accept his hand and we shake hands.

"That's what they usually tell me."

We're both silent, until I speak again.

"Well, I should go, it was nice meeting you Mitch," I say as I take a step back towards the corner I was supposed to leave. "I hope your guitar is okay."

"I'm sure it is, don't worry about it."

"Well...bye."

I wave goodbye before turning and he does the same.

Weird

I turn the corner, finding a long hallway with several doors and other corridors leading off of it. Just as Amanda told me, I walk down what appears to be the first hallway to my right, but, when I'm a few steps away from it, a door at the end opens and I see my beloved manager emerge.

I try to slyly turn around again, ready to walk back down the hallway I've come from without him noticing I'm here.

"Hailey?"

Fuck

I turn slowly, watching as Brenda walks quickly down the hallway to where I am.

"What are you doing here?" she asks me with a blank look on her face.

"Jack's at the meeting with the producer and his assistant suggested...showing me around the studios a bit...so I wouldn't get bored."

"And where's the assistant?

"A girl came for her on the way here and said she'd come back for me in studio 1."

"And you think I suck my thumb?"

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"We both know who's on The Graham Show as a guest today, you're already going back to where my son is because I'm not going to let you anywhere near Harry Styles. I'm sure you've used Jack as a reason to come."

"I didn't even know until 10 minutes ago that Harry was here."

"Then why did you accompany my son to a meeting?"

"Because I'm his fiancée!"

"Don't try to fool me, you came here so you could see him and you used the excuse of accompanying Jack."

"Look, you always want me to be the perfect girlfriend to him and to the public, so that's what I'm being for once. I'm the girlfriend accompanying him to a meeting that's going to be short and then we're going to dinner to talk about our wedding. I had no fucking idea he would be here, it was the producer who suggested to his assistant that she could show me around the studio during the meeting." Brenda is silent for a few seconds before she moves closer to me and begins to threaten me.

"Don't ever talk to me like that again because I can sink you and your entire career with a couple of phone calls. And you're already going back where you came from, because you're not going any further. You're an ungrateful little bitch who thinks everyone should kiss the ground you walk on, but don't worry, I'm here to take you down a peg or two."

As I'm about to answer again, I see a man coming towards us from behind Brenda. Seeing that I'm looking over her shoulder, she turns around, seeing him too.

"Is everything all right here?" he asks as he comes up to where we are.

"Of course it is." replies Brenda as she turns again to look at me. "Hailey, this is Jeffrey Azoff, Harry's current manager.

"Everyone calls me Jeff." he stretches out his hand towards me and I shake it. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you in person, Hailey, I've heard so much about you. What are you doing here?"

"She came to accompany my son to a meeting and wanted to stop by to say hello, but she's on her way out."

"I was told that I could come and see Harry while I was waiting for Jack to leave the meeting, we haven't seen each other for a long time and I'd like to take the opportunity to say hello," I said looking at Jeff.

"But she was just leaving, I'm sure Jack won't be long in finishing and she should go upstairs and wait for him so he doesn't have to be waiting for her to get back."

"I'll only be a couple of minutes.”

Jeff stares at me and then shifts his gaze to Brenda. He looks like he's about to say something, but Luke appears in the hallway catching my manager's eye.

"Brenda, some people from the production company want to talk to you," he says and she glares at me.

"Okay." she turns and starts to walk away next to Luke, when I think she's not going to say anything she turns again. "Go with Jack."

I watch her leave and then I turn to look at Jeff.

"I just want to talk to him." I explain "We didn't end well when we started the break with the band and I want us to at least be on good terms, that's why I want to talk to him."

"Harry told me that your relationship wasn't as good as it used to be and that he was disappointed...but...I'm not going to lie to you, I know your management is trying to keep you two apart to avoid misunderstandings that could stain your image."

" They are the ones who create misunderstandings, not us".

"The thing is, I don't want any of us to get in trouble if any of your managers find out that I let you in and that you've been together," I cross my arms indignantly.

"So you're not going to let me in to see him for two minutes?

"We can't risk it."

All managers are the same, "we're doing it for your own good", bullshit. I'm an adult, I know what will be good or bad for me. I don't think saying hello to Harry is such a crime that we can end up as badly as they make it out to be.

"I know Harry would have loved to see you," says Jeff.

"If he would have loved to see me so much then let me stay and talk to him for just a few minutes, please".

"I'm sorry." We stand in silence for a moment,

"You're all ass-kissers in this industry." Jeff sighs before replying.

"The performance will be over by now, Harry will be about to head back to the dressing rooms and it's best he doesn't know you were here, Hailey. Neither of us want him to get in trouble," he puts a hand on my shoulder, which I brush away as if it burns me.

I don't even say goodbye and turn to go the way I came, I retrace the same path I did minutes before, heading back to the entrance lobby quickly. As I'm reaching the lifts, Amanda reappears and walks up to me in surprise.

"The show hasn't finished shooting yet, did you get a chance to see Harry?" she asks me as I call the lift.

"No, but I thought maybe he'd be busy when he was done filming and since he's not warned that I'd be there, maybe I could interrupt something or be in the way. "I lie as the lift doors open again and we both get in. "I thought it would be a better idea to go back and wait for them to finish the meeting."

The assistant just nods and we both remain silent as the lift rises. When the doors open again and we arrive on the same floor as before, she takes me to a small waiting room with sofas where I could stay.

"Well...if you want a coffee, tea or anything else I can get it for you," he offers as I sit down on the sofa and take my mobile phone out of my trouser pocket.

"No need, thank you very much. If you need to go do other things you can go, I don't mind waiting here alone."

"Mmm...Okay, if you need anything I'm in the office next door."

"Okay, thanks." Amanda leaves the room and I'm left in silence, I can't help but think that even though I didn't know he was here until less than an hour ago, he's only a few floors away and he'll never know I was.
