I think at some point I’m going to try dyeing some of my fabric with coffee grounds.

#dyeing #i bought a big box of fabric for $40 in the summer and i have A Lot #some in colours im not likely to use much of #it's 50/50 cotton/poly so idk how well it'll take the dye but the cotton part might at least #ill have to do some samples i need to save enough coffee grounds first #i might even try doing batik! need to find a candle i can use for that first tho #and im getting ahead of myself i gotta do samples to see if it even looks nice #but yeah!#coffee works because it's full of tannins so you dont need a mordant #i think.#thats the theory anyway #magpiemending

i got so angry about the AB remaster i drew this

trying out a new type of watercolour paper so dave gets to be my guinea pig

#art #traditional art #watercolour #oc art #ocs #oc group: dave #oc: dave #im trying out some of the fluid student grade stuff. i like their fluid 100 fully cotton stuff but if i can find a non 100% cotton paper #that works well with my painting style my wallet would appreciate it LOL so far it seems good!#i paint kinda weird because i hate lifting so much i dont do it and i hate when it accidentally happens #its a technique that has a lot of uses but none for me HJFDHBFSKD if i make a mistake and i dont wipe it away fast enough with my finger #then its just there now. it was meant to be LOL but yeah i dont do lifting so i get like #irrationally angry when im trying to layer something and it lifts. which is always a problem i have with watercolour paper thats not 100 #cotton. and also for some reason the mixed media paper i use does well with layering too so i like it #but if i can find a nice thick not as wrinkly cellulose paper that lets me layer that would be very nice hJFJDKJFD #but i'll need to to test out this paper more. its promising it let me layer pretty well with daves skin (tho the shading is a little light)#(but thats because i put too much water in the mix RIP) and it seems the colours that are supposed to stain arent lifting which is good #(so many watercolour papers ive used have made my most staining of staining pigments lift which always bugs me LOL)#but we shall see!

oops, got myself thinking again about byan having a little hoard of weird and random trinkets and shiny things hidden away under their bed in the same way that some cats have collections of bottle caps under furniture.

like, none of it is particularly meaningful and they don't wear any of the jewelry that's under there, but they like to pull it all out once in a while to look at and are always adding more

#there's a lot of jewelry but there's a lot of other shiny things and weirder stuff too #like there's a heart shaped rock they stole from someone in elementary and some pretty feathers they've found on the ground #but then there's also a wrapper from a cute snack they had and a bone from some random animal they found in a park #colourful buttons and cute ribbons and a trading card from a game they've never played #and probably also a pink bottle cap tbh #literally just a random collection of Stuff they like but have no use for #it's a collection they've had to rebuild a few times too #bc staff/caretakers at the group home(s) would find it all sometimes and throw away whatever looked like junk or trash #tbh it's a collection they still have and add to even after they move in w sol and start sharing a bed #and they still keep it under the bed ofc bc it's habit at this point and honestly I'm not so sure they've even told him it's there 🤔#...im rambling bc I'm kinda buzzed but like. idk I love byan and their pile of random shit #I think part of what got them started was want to actually Have Things bc they grew up not having much #and they would ABSOLUTELY get jealous of kids at school who had all kinds of belongings #who could have coherent collections and all the cool toys and shit #so they just started collecting anything that caught their eye #even if it was labels off of bottles or those cheap erasers shaped like animals or food or w/e that don't actually erase anything #and it's a habit that persisted after they started stealing basically anything they wanted/needed #and will continue to persist even once they have a job and money to buy what they want #god I kept rambling even after trying to wrap things up smh #this is the shit I'm talking about when I say I have weirdly specific and detailed thoughts about inane and unimportant aspects of byan #━━ ˟ ⊰ ✰ ooc ⋮ don’t @ me.

guys i have not very scientifically accurate ideas cooking in my head about that scene where miles gets bit . a level bio come through (too lazy someone probably already made a post though maybe ill try to find one)

#spiders dont have haemoglobin but haemocyanin which gives them blue looking blood (cause it contains copper rather than iron in humans)#which is what colour his blood turns in the animation #makes me think how much of miles is actually spider #dna is also used to make templates for proteins (which make up like... most of the stuff in ur body)#so with part spider dna it could explain why youd physically change after being bitten #some neurotransmitters can also be made from proteins made from our dna (though idk much about that cause theres loads of different classes #idk correct me if im wrong im nt a scientist or anything #vee chats

#finally able to use some pink and purple fluffy yarn my cousin got me and i managed to crochet ONE plushie of a manta ray with it but #its so hard to see the stitches so i gave up on all my bigger projects #but knitting makes using it so much easier cuz i can see all the loops on my needles! so im making a scarf #im not a huge fan of the pink purple white colour palette of the yarn but i feel like if i make it long enough it could be VERY nice with a #purple shirt underneath. or even with this one white hand me down faux fur jacket ive never used #the possibilities are endless and the world is my oyster ! i love textile work #emi's meandering jotts

ive been switching lanes waaay too fast this week. Anyway having some mini identity crisises over how little i actually understood about nuclear fusion

#me #a shitpost can be blue #physics #i guess #tis about how i knew so little about quarks #like okay i know their names i like knew they had like charges that were colours #thatw e call colours. but id uh missed the part where that leads tp actually looking how they interact and also waves #this came from me helping my best friends little syster #with a presentation on nuclear energy #and so i was just like huh i know it works like that but like why exactly does that give off energy as a byproduct?#and then i. and then i had to sit there like. ah #its been so long since ive actually looked at physics #like interesting physics not explaining basic concepts to a kid for school #cuz i have. highschool physics at best at this point and #uh my grandfather was a phycisist and he was writhing a book on some theories when i was 2 to 3ish #and he was babysitting me and we stayed close till my early teen years #so ive actually always known just tht bit much more about particles specifically then my peers #idk its always been interesting to me #but now im coming over here like oh ive lost the #constant building of knowedge over the years that id gotten used to #because like we would cover some material in school i kinda new #id get curious and look a bunch of atuff up #but ive actively been forgetting physics for a few years now and it idk it hit #im just not keeping up with my sciences #which is a terrible blow to my little curious ass #like ive been keeping up with literary education and fashion history and phylosophy #but ive been missing the biology and physics and chemistry actually #but i dont tend to hyperfocus on theese topics so im jot sure how to keep at it #cuz i like learning stuff like that and sometimes ill go on binges of learning about curves #but idk ive been missing my dose of i guess the harder sciences part of it

#could probably take better pictures and mess with them in photoshop so they look better on the computer #but idk how to do all that adn im tired #these were so much fun to do i think im gonna do some more #learnt a LOT about defining shapes with just light and dark #and a lot about face shapes #i think 7 and 12 came out best #i want to add some more shadow to 3's hair maybe #i messed up a bit with 7 #made a bit blue that shouldve stayed white #he was the most complex #had the most complex shapes to colour #so i fixed it just now digitally #idk if i like this one better or the messed up one actually #its copic alcohol markers on watercolour paper #i also sketched 2 but i think i wanna do him with 2 colours #the picture i used as refernece had very clear dark shadows and lighter shadows #so im gonna do him in a series where i do them all with two colours instead of one #but this was super fun i learnt a lot

Strange question, but thoughts on the Winterblessed skin? Personally, since Annie Senna got skins with h some sweet lore, I'm satisfied.

I agree the skins are cute and they look okay, im happy Lucian and Senna are getting a Xayah/Rakan type of treatment this time, its cute to see that they are getting invested on them too as a couple, cause they deserve that. They are cute and they are married, period. Annie getting a skin is cool too and for the rest they are fine, Thresh is there to add more sass so, thats cool. The aesthetic of the skinline is a bit better than the last things Riot has released in the last couple years, i like that type of old winter castle aesthetic fused with boreal themes/colours mixed with a christmas legend/fairytale, i think its cute.

However, never forget this is Riot Games. This is the second year we get Winterblessed. Expect this skinline to reappear in the next 2 years consecutively until people get bored of it cause the quality of the skins got poor with pass of time and they create something else and leave the skinline to the dust. This is one of the recent Riot's money machines cause last ones did good last year and these new ones were deffinetly a bop cause every game i play someone has either Hwei, Senna or Camille skins with the border/icon (thats almost like 15 dollars in release cause i dont think they were able to farm the battle pass in 10 minutes since event release...). Something else that bugs me is that, and mind me i love Senna, its why they have given her another legendary skin. I dont understand the point of giving characters another legendary skin when equally popular characters dont have one, im not even talking about champs like Azir, Xerath, etc, im literally talking about Lulu for example or even Annie. And mind you, im a Pyke apologist, but if i could i would set Project Pyke as a concept on fire. I guess Senna is another money machine to them more than other champions that are as popular. But i dont know. Skins are good but Riot intentions are screaming quite hard.

#i could say im satisfied too but my crystal ball says 'oh my god this is going to end poorly'#i just dont understand that need of legendary skins #its literally the 'Double it or give it to the next person'#but yeah they are fine #im liking the promotional arts so far #skins look good #yeah this was satisfactory #i just wished they could've used some more colours in the skins?#they are way more blue than the last ones #but yeah it doesnt bother me that much
