I am in love with your work. :) What type of camera/editing setup do you have? Can I use your images for moodboards? I will be sure to credit. Thank you. :)
I use a sony a7ii and Adobe lightroom to edit! Thank you so much, of course! 🤎

god my friend bought a camera in october after deliberating for 4 months and he went to his brothers for boxing day and one of his kids knocked it out of his hand and broke it. dude i would be shattered. a sony a7ii down the drain because you don't have a wrist strap.... it literally couldn't be me. apparently it costs more to get it repaired than what he paid brand new (which was second hand i think 400 quid?) so he's gonna sell it as broken. my heart breaks for the guy ngl

Mercury In Retrograde
One of my Favorite film cameras is the Mercury II. It's a half-frame camera from the 40's that was supposed to be the American rival to Contaxes and Leicas since we were having... second thoughts about doing business with Germany, and even Japan. Even though I'd adapted this lens to my Fuji X-E2 before, I'd never thrown it on my Sony A7ii.

Here are some shots!

I figured I'd be able to use the APS-C mode in the menu, which just punches into the sensor, since half-frame is about the same size as APS-C anyway.

Overall, I'm pretty astonished by this lens' performance. It handles color and contrast well, and definitely has a vintage focus fall-off in the corners, which is common for three-element lenses like this one. The Bokeh looks good, and sharpness are on point!

So not bad for APS-C  crop, right?
I've been withholding something. These are all shot full frame. Turns out this tiny lens covers the sensor at wider apertures with just a vignette. Stopped down, the corners fall out. Here's f/2.7 compared to f/8.

Not bad for a lens the size of a quarter!

Testing out the Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f/1.2 Aspherical III VM lens. I now own the 3 Nokton f/1.2 lenses I wanted to get: the 35mm, 40mm, and 50mm. The 35mm is as sharp as the 50mm, with haze-like qualities as the 40mm, wide open.
I love these lenses. The Nokton f/1.2 VM lenses are probably my favorite set of lenses. But to be honest, they’re a bit of a pain in the ass to use on a mirrorless camera. Which is why I’m saving up for a Leica now.

Major Project - 1 Week - Experimentation
After setting up a mini studio to achieve optimal lighting for photography, I chose the nearest object, which happened to be food. Utilising the Sony A7II with a 50mm lens, I attempted to focus the camera on a single segment of a satsuma. However, I realised that this lens might not have been the most suitable choice for capturing such a small object, making the process more challenging.
Despite the initial challenges, after a few test runs, I eventually achieved the correct focus, enabling me to capture the shot. I transferred this image to Photoshop, where I refined it by erasing the background, adjusting vibrancy, and tweaking brightness to enhance the colours.
With the more refined image, I duplicated it multiple times, making slight positional adjustments with each iteration to create a flower-like formation. This process resulted in a visual transition from fruit to flower, evoking thoughts of collage projects and abstract art.
Building upon this, I paired the image with contrasting colours from the colour wheel to make the 'satsuma' stand out. Additionally, I experimented with display text and played around with editorial layout, aiming to enhance and refine these skills as part of my ongoing improvement in composition.
Something that really interested me was the change of colours when text and image was highlighted. I want to try recreate this through editing.

Stairs to Heaven

Shot on Sony a7ii | 30mm F10 Lens Lord knows the subways in New York are pretty hellish... (joke..?) This was shot on my kodak disposable camera lens so the original photo already sort-of gives off that old digital tech photography "vibe" but I edited it to look like one of those old photos you'd see in a museum or in your old dated textbooks. I think of the colors yellowish orange/cyan whenever I think of that retro aged look, not sure if I accurately achieved it though. Feedback will always be welcome!

so i was looking at your unsplash (gorgeous photos btw) and I am wondering what camera and lens you have? especially for the up close photos? they are so pretty
Hi! Thank you so much! I have the Sony a7ii, and I have the Canon EF 100 mm f/2.8 Macro Lens attached to it with the Fotasy Manual EFS to E adapter.
Not the most ideal set up but I had a Canon Rebel T5 with 3 different lenses, and upgraded to the Sony a7ii. So I kept my Canon macro lens and got another Sony lens plus an adapter. I am hoping to eventually upgrade my lens collection, too.
