So I'm proudest of these pictures, all of which took hours and hours and all of my limited patience to finish. I gave up on them all multiple times but kept coming back until they were done, which I'm thankful for. I'm also proud of writing 'a light exists in spring,' a self-indulgent little fic I wrote just for fun, because I'd forgotten what writing for pleasure even felt like.

Old doodles I found in my binder that I had forgotten about LOL, idk how they got damaged by water, but they did xP. Oh, well. I TRUST that some of you will not repost these doodles without my permission (they're ugly anyways, so why would you?). A handful of people already used my old ryo x embry art without my permission, which is quite annoying (but expected, so I'm not mad!). Especially when I get comments complaining that my watermark is too big. What can you do though XD

An even more water damaged doodle XP. I vaguely remember when I was doodling this, the audio "my baby, my baby... you're my baby" (from I bet on losing dogs by mitski) was playing in the background . The way Rune loves Ryo melts my heart. A parent who is willing to drown the world is darkness for their child is the type of love I wish I can give to my own children one day (if I ever have any of course, which I doubt I will so I guess my imaginary children will do XD).

They're huge comfort charas to me and I want to properly draw them in the future ^^. ♡ My head canon has always been that Rune reads "the wizard of oz" for Ryo, just because the scarecrow reminds Ryo of himself XD. I actually have alot more head canons for them but I don't think they'd be interesting to anyone + I need to write them down.

Either way, sorry for my absence. I apologize to my friends who I am yet to reply to, even more sorry for my friends/mutuals who I haven't finished my side of art trades for (rest assure, the art you see above is from a year ago, so please don't assume that I have randomly forgotten of what I owe you!). Thing's have been tough & extremely overwhelming, with college, being a caretaker + work, and ofc IRL stuff. I'll manage though. I hope all of you are doing well too! Take care -- Mav ☆

I finally decided what to do with this OC design- I made her into a shapeshifter! I used some P2U lines I had saved, but I'll draw my own ref for her soon.

I think making her a shapeshifter will make her ideal for vent art, because of her very simple design and how she could be a soft lamb in one picture and a snarling wolf in the next.

Maybe I'll post more of her in future!

Shakes and vibrates and thinks about Spiderbitbur for my Songbird AU

Wilbur who was made by the federation both to cash in money for them and to spy on islanders, unbeknownst to Wilbur who thinks his voice box and speaker are just that, but are actually surveillance tools.

Wilbur finding out what his purpose is, that he was created to spy on his loved ones without knowing, and isolating because he's afraid. Isolating because he doesn't want his loved ones to be in danger yk

And Roier who comes up with ways to communicate without making Wilbur afraid that they're being listened to; Roier who starts writing notes and letters so they can talk without anyone else hearing. Roier who promises they'll find a way to make sure Wilbur won't be a glorified listening device for the federation anymore

And ough. Cellbit. Cellbit with so much unbridled rage for the Feds because how dare they. He will rip this entire island to shreds with his bare teeth if he has to because they upset Wilbur and he WILL kill somebody for it fr

sorry for the wait. i was struggling to make this little 30 second clip for this concept of yours (wasn't my original project, but i HAD TO MAKE SOMETHING). i was gnawing on the legs of my desk the entire time! the quality SUCKS FAZBALLS but i'm not letting alight motion watermark my stupid little animatic. it's ugly and gets in the way of my captions ANYWAYS! time for my favorite part of making animatics and pmvs: explaining my thought processes behind them your songbird au got me thinking. in my variant of the proj. bluebird au, jaiden is the head scientist who built the ositos to manage the islanders in their whole. time loop situation and help to "re-raise" them...it's complicated so she's kinda the favorite child not only that, but as a teenager, in many of the loops, jaiden gave cucurucho information cause she was pressured to do so and follow the rules ("bring order to the discordant,") so i combined these aus (aptly named bluesong. creative i know) and figured that because jaiden values giving data and information to the bureau, she's the one who came up with the idea of turning both her and wilbur into "songbirds," little listening devices for the federation to give the "most orderly outcome." wilbur finds out years later. he is NOT doing well! as i put in my planner for this little pmv:

Uglydolls Grab-bag!

I found influence after gawking at stationery stickers from the 70s-80s era: Repeated saturated yet cheap colors, characters drawn in non-exact canon just for the heckuvit, and on occasion the poor cutting job of the stickers themselves! Something about it made me want to try it on the characters lol

Not sure if I got it right (or even close), but they were still fun to draw. I want to draw more involving the standard Perfect Dolls interacting with the Uglys, but we’ll see what happens. Turns out my insomnia wasn’t the only culprit in my lack of motivation lately. Trying to narrow down the suspects...

Not to mention apologizing after being called out would mean nothing, but I did accept it before seeing this. From now on I will be a total bitch about my gifs.

Hi! I appreciate that you reached out and explained yourself, and I accept your apology but you need to understand that tagging the og creator takes a few seconds.

It’s a matter of respect. I’m new to gif making and the whole gif side of the fandom but I put so much work on my gifset and so do others!!! With taking our works (not just you others as well) you demean the hours we spend on them, making it seem so easy to make sets and color the gifs and caption them etc etc—

Moreover, it demotivates us and we have to put our watermarks on them which makes the gif look ugly and no one wants that, at least I know I don’t. You’re not the first and you won’t be the last, but this is disheartening and disrespectful.

I was trying to be kind to remain positive in the fandom But it made me sad and I won’t filter my feelings about it. It was a wrong thing to do because with every like and reblog you can see the post in your notifs. It upset me greatly because I don’t get paid for it, I don’t have a ko-fi or anything of that sort.

And I’m not going to delete the post I made because those were my true feelings. I am deeply wounded and I will not hesitate to say it.

Commission and Custom Body Pillow Update

I really hate to do this, but thanks to too many people getting free sketches and running for the hills to use them however they want. Because some people suck:

I will no longer be providing full, clear sketches before payment.

It's unfortunate, but I will have to ask for at least half the payment up front for commissions and the full payment for custom body pillow order. Alternatively, if you're feeling very unsure about wanting to commission and need a chance to peep at the design first: I can provide a sketch with a heavy watermark over it if you're more comfortable with it. It will not be high quality, the watermark will be massive and probably ugly, and you do not have any permission to use it until payment goes through. Again, I'm really sorry to do this. But I've just had one too many commissions come in that got free art and left me in the dust. This is my full time job, my only source of income is my freelance art, and this is the only work I can do at this time due to chronic illness and disability. I can't keep giving free art out to folks constantly and not get paid. As always, I'm more than happy to do free requests when I can, but please don't pretend you're commissioning me and then screw me over.
