Dogday has Autism and ADHD!

Because of his big ol ears, he has bad sensory issues with specific sounds, especially since he can hear so well. Because of that, he carries around headphones with him everywhere, so if you see him sitting somewhere with them on, he is overwhelmed, do not bother him!!

He glows in the dark like a nightlight, but his pendant glows constantly.

When he stims, he does so with tail wagging, hand flapping, and leg stomps/shakes.

he howls at the sun instead of the moon!

He is TERRIFIED of sunflowers. they stare back, he swears they do.

he finds pop rock candy very fascinating! it's his favorite candy.

he likes basking in the sun! and though he may be busy with something almost all the time, he always has an eye out, and is always keeping his friends safe, no matter what!

He 100% puts others before himself, no doubt.

he also has bad memory. not HORRIFICALLY bad, but its not very good either.

his body temperature is warmer than everybody elses, meaning he overheats easily. In contrast to what most would think, he likes cold weather more than summer weather.

It's funny you ask this because I've been thinking about making a comic (or maybe just a blog) of their pre island lives and maybe some post island stuff too! I wasn't sure if people would actually be interested in that though, I also suck at committing to things like that 😭

To answer the question though :D

- Ralph's mom died about a year before the island

- Piggy's parents died when he was really young, probably around 6 or 7

- Piggy has a younger sister (she's his cousin but they've lived together long enough to be his sister). They share a room and constantly fight over things (like stealing each other's clothes or other things, fighting over who's side is who, ect.). They were in the middle of a fight before Piggy left on that plane.

- Simon would sometimes get in trouble for not speaking/being too quiet in school (me fr)

- Simon would try and sing C# a lot (he never got it and never will 💔)

- Sam and Eric share a room and Eric has the top bunk

- Sam and Eric would sneak in stray cats and dogs then get in trouble by their parents

- Piggy's little sister would steal his clothes because she knew it made him mad, she also just preferred his clothes

- Jack would sometimes spend the night at his church

- Jack would throw choir parties at his house, usually after concerts. mostly as a way to get them to hang out with him

- Ralph enjoyed painting, usually landscapes and horses

- Jack doesn't really have friends, skill issue ngl

- Roger sleeps in random alleyways a lot

- Jack was a "Goody two shoes" and strict about following rules before the island. He's also a nerd

- Simon sneaks out a lot at night, just to walk around

- Ralph had recently moved to a new place before the island

i associate jack and ralph with dogs and cats most generally, but for story related reasons, jack is a dog and ralph is a dove :3

jack is a dog because of dog poetry stuff, he isnt a bad kid just as no dog is a bad dog, being bad is taught, not born... and his actions in the book are mainly caused by varying levels of hurt he felt and no matter your theories/headcanons about his home life, hes about 12 years old stranded on an island alone while being stripped of everything that was once familiar to him. his home life, routines, leadership, etc., he is trying to protect and prove himself while coping with the changes ,,, hes also a dog because the poor boy just needs some praise on his leadership skills man :(

and ralph is a dove for very obvious reasons, those being doves symbolizing innocence, freedom, and peace... i think you get the idea

simon is a lamb!!! for!! also super obvious reasons!! he is constantly teehee joked about being the book's jesus, it just makes sense to me

roger im not TOO sure, but i want to say a cat. one thats been mistreated so its resorted to being standoffish and hissy to protect itself, and it takes longer for them to forgive and heal

maurice is also a dog !!! hes just a big puppy,, my only explanation for this is just the part where he tries to cheer up the littluns by falling i think, and also when he quickly feels bad after making them cry in chapter 4... and the way hes initially described in the first chapter

everyone else ive never really thought about it (sorry piggy likers i love him i just havent considered it)

tell me about you + your friend’s 80s au?

oh lord where do i even start 😭 i’m about to be yapping for a long time i apologize in advance.

so, me n my group of friends got together and put an 80’s au together called Island Wheels! we’ve all been working on it for a while and i love it dearly i’m ngl. i write ralph’s perspective (might have been obvious..) and basically his whole character so most of the stuff in this ramble will be about his side of the story!! (we also assume that mulberry boy [we named him maxwell], simon, and piggy are still alive and just got really beat up or something)

we assigned each of the boys a type of skating/something on wheels!! so ralph roller skates (i think piggy would attempt to roller skate too? he just wouldn’t like it very much and opt to play the arcade games or smt lolll), jack and roger roller blade, simon and maurice skateboard, and samneric ride bicycles (or only one for both of them sometimes..)! they all hang out at the local skating rink to just get away from everything though.

to start: his family. i hc that ralph is a middle child! his older brother is robert and his younger brother is maxwell. his fathers name is felix allebach and his mothers name was clara, who passed away when ralph was seven. his father remarried to an american woman named trudy jennings. ralph’s full name is ralph rover jennings-allebach. his brothers are amazing; maxwell looks up to ralph like an idol of some sort, and robert would literally kill for his younger brothers. his relationship with his father is also really good too! the allebachs are british-german, making them practically fluent in both languages as they grew up around german speaking family. their family is more lower-middle class, leaning hard on the lower part.

ralph’s character: basically brother has issues. he has ocd, ptsd from the island, anxiety/hallucinations, and he tends to go into depressive slumps every so often; especially when things aren’t clean or ‘manipulated’ to how it wants them to be. this is what my most recent art was about!! he was freaking out because he looks “like a corpse” and how he can’t recognize himself anymore after getting smoked out of the island. yikes.

last section bcz i don’t want to spoil too much!! how did jack and ralph re-meet?: they wound up going to the same boarding school (wow shocker ikr) and ralph becomes distant after figuring that out. but one night during a party at the skating rink, roger shoves jack into ralph which leads into jack spilling his drink all over him. (fun fact this entire scene was inspired by Ribs by Lorde so um. thanks Lorde?) ralph still like hates jack at this time so jack is like “uhmmmmmhhh ill go get paper towels ahaha” and he just ditches and probably punches roger. and then (shocker again) their sophomore year they get put in a dorm together and simply have to Deal With It! they do end up getting along a little while into it though :)

i don’t want to spoil a whole hell of a lot but that’s a little bit of it :,) i’ve been waiting for someone to ask though i’ve been so excited FJSHSJJS. i have so much more i’m so sorry for the literal paragraphs already BAHAHAHA take some soggy ralph as compensation 🥹

Part 2/Jack's opinions.

Jack- Jack was/is a bit jealous at how easily Ralph was able to get votes in the beginning, and it upset him a lot to have someone to compete with for a leadership title. After the island, when Jack had time to sit with his thoughts and think of what him and the other boys had done, he was filled with a lot of guilt. It took him a while to even approach Ralph, and he's still taking it slow, but he tries his best to show he's sorry, even if he struggles a lot to show that.

Jack thinks Simon is weird and annoying, but its kinda in the way siblings think each other are annoying. He gets pissed off when Simon faints and stuff but he does care even if he absolutely refuses to show that (as much as he tries to deny it he does in fact care about the choir trust me 💔). He definitely gets jealous when Simon starts talking to Ralph and Piggy more than him and the choir, and it's pretty obvious that he's not very happy about it.

Jack still, even after the island, doesn't really like Piggy. He thinks he's weird and annoying and doesn't ever really listen to anything Piggy says. He doesn't know any personal information about Piggy because he refuses to even slightly think abt being his friend, he only knows that his real name is Peter thats it (he still calls him Piggy though).

Jack honestly doesn't know much about Roger personally, although to be fair, Roger doesn't really tell anyone any details about himself and usually only really speaks when spoken to. However, Jack has noticed that Roger's behavior is a bit weird, and he does worry about him, but Roger never says anything when Jack tries to ask. Jack likes being around Roger even if he doesn't talk much. He likes that he follows pretty much every order he's givin without putting up a fight and that he doesn't try to fight for Jack's power. (He refuses to admit this because he doesn't wanna be seen as weak or anything, but he also finds him a bit unsettling).

Maurice and Jack are pretty close, i feel like they would've been pretty good friends before the island, and they had sleepovers at eachothers house a lot. Jack likes how loyal Maurice is to him (This is a pattern for him he likes having ppl around him that listen to everything he says because it makes him feel more 'powerful' than them).

Jack doesn't know the twins well at all since he didn't talk to them before, and they were never a part of his tribe (when they forced them to at the end, but that don't count 🙏‼️). He feels pretty neutral about them.

Lord of the flies characters impressions of each other, but it's all from my perspective/my little au i've made up of them in my head because it's driving me insane and i need to spread it. Basically, it's kinda modern, but the island stuff still happened, they are a bit older/it's been like 3 years, (Twins: 14, Simon, Maurice, & Roger: 15, Ralph, Jack, & Piggy/Peter: 16), they go to the same school, and my sons Simon & Piggy/Peter don't die ‼️‼️

This is part 1 I'm also gonna do one for Jack, Simon, Piggy, Roger, Maurice, and ill do Samneric on one post but still give each ones individual opinions .

Ralph- Ralph found Jack a bit annoying and loud at first but still respected him and wanted to be his friend. After the island, Ralph tends to avoid him and the rest of the choir/hunters (-Simon) because even though part of him knows that the boys have gotten better and stuff he still has that fear/anxiety running in the back of his mind.

He doesn't know much about Roger since he's so quiet and reserved and he doesn't really plan on changing that although he definitely does make Ralph feel uneasy, especially since he had basically tried to kill Piggy (in this au he pushed the boulder but it missed my son 🙏).

Ralph isn't necessarily scared of Maurice. In his opinion, he just seems like a mindless follower in a way. Ralph thinks he only really listened to anything Jack said because he was already used to doing that. He still thinks he's a little shit though and wishes he'd be serious for once 💔💔 (bros allergic to bros whimsy)

He finds Simon a bit weird but likes his kindness and how much he cares for others. He thinks Simon can be a bit sensitive at time's and his quietness confuses him a bit but he enjoys being around him, especially because of how often he notices when Ralph is upset and how he always tries to help as much as he can.

Ralph didn't really like Piggy at first and found him really annoying, but after a bit, especially when Jack and the hunters had started to act 'savage' he started to relize that Piggy was in fact right and he stared to rlize that he had been pretty reasonable the whole time and they started to get a bit closer.

Ralph likes talking to the twins and kinda sees them in a younger brother way. He thinks it a bit weird how they act almost as if they are one person but finds them pretty entertaining and fun to be around.

1. How did you find Tumblr? I am pretty sure a super nerdy/cool friend of mine insisted I joined so we could share dorky stuff to each other. We did it like twice *shrugs*

2. Did you expect to stan your fav band as much as you do now? (I don’t have a defined fav band! I am sorry, I was born like this. Also, I am nice). But no, I guess that’s one of the most exciting parts of finding a band that ends up staying with you forever: The process (fast or slow) of discovering them, to get mesmerized by them and knowing you’ve found something truly special, among many many many thousands of existing bands out there *wipes out tears*

3. What’s one thing you wanna do before dying? Having a decent amount of underwear, and ha-whack Trump on the face.

4. Have you met someone from a band you like? YEEEEEEEESSSSSS. I’ve had that rare chance with Mr. Frank Turner and Damian “Pink Eyes” Abraham from Fucked Up.

5. What’s your favorite movie? What about a short list? I’d put there Fight Club, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Birdman, Back to The Future I, Persepolis, The Addams Family movies, The Matrix and quite possibly something dumb from Simon Pegg.

6. If you had to give someone one life advice right now, what would it be? No one gets remembered by the things they didn’t do. So go do it. Also, you should consider giving me all of your money. I have PayPal.

7. Do you listen to music for the instruments or the lyrics? Most of the time, for B O T H. Although yeah, got to admit, is easier for me to get tired of something (even disappointed) if the lyrics are not doing anything for me. Guess that’s the difference between me loving a band and me living a band.

But still, a fantastic thing about music is, it is a single composition (a song or a piece), but it is ALSO layered! So chances are, you will find something new to enjoy everytime.

8. What’s your talent? Drinking coffee, sleeping, listening to a sickening amount of music, getting my hopes up, daydreaming, laughing so hard until my nose makes a piggy like sound, and not taking things seriously.

9. Where would you be right now if you could go anywhere? At a Caribbean beach, drinking a margarita.

10. Would you rather be immortal and have opportunities to make your life perfect, or have a perfect life handed to you but die early? I’d chose the first option but without immortality. Maybe the chance to choose when it is really time to go, because I am pretty sure that moment exists after a life well lived.

I remember a while ago I reblogged a really cute headcanon post about Ralph, Piggy, and Simon being roommates and I remembered one part of it that I've been thinking about all day. One of the headcanons was that Simon becomes an elementary school teacher... look I don't mean to insult the original poster or anything, this has a lot more to do with the fandom's common portrayal of Simon as a nuturing figure in general, but... I really can't see it. Simon is a nice kid, sure, but he's hardly someone who would choose to work with other people. He's heavily introverted, most of the time slinking off into his little patch of jungle to look at birds and trees and stuff. He doesn't really do stuff for people unless provoked into action (i.e. helping with the shelters when it was obvious nobody else would, giving Piggy back his glasses, giving Piggy some of his meat when it's clear he's not going to get any...). If anybody in this lot was to become an elementary school teacher it'd probably be Piggy, because he seems to be the only one who gives even a fraction of a damn about the littluns, what with trying to gently coax them into participating in meetings and junk, like with Birthmark Kid (and maybe even Simon himself, if my memory serves me right (don't quote me on that though)). Sorry if this comes off like a mean rant I'm just thinking about canon v.s. fanon characterizations.

Opinion on Ralph?

I am justgoing to assume you want me to do the, ‘Send Me a Character’ meme for this, ifotherwise I am sorry.

Send Me aCharacter: Ralph (Lord of the Flies)

First impression:  WhenI first read the book and to an extent, when I reread it now, Ralph wasn’t myfavorite character. My favorite characters were always Piggy and Jack. Anyonewho goes back and reads my compilation of oneshots on FFN will know that mostof my oneshots dealt with Piggy or Jack, just because those two boys fascinatedme more than any other. 

However, I still liked Ralph, and that’s the sameopinion I hold now. Except I didn’t really think too much about how Ralphchanges as a character throughout the novel until a few rereads. 

Ralph is aninteresting character. His changes throughout the book are very subtle, untilyou get to the end where you feel it’s this huge progression from his look onthe island to ‘Cry of the Hunters,’ but then you realize that it’s just beencontinuing in little steps. Ralph’s characterization is one of my favoritethings about the novel, honestly. His relationship with the other cast of boys,especially Piggy (which I will get to in a minute) always interests me, and thedynamic between him and Jack is just unique. There’s not anything like it,really, of course you can make those little literature references as to how itcould compare to another relationship in a different book, but it will morethan likely still contrast in a way or another

Impression now: My impression now of Ralph is I think he’s an incredible character andhis complexity is always fascinating to discuss. While I don’t think he’s themost interesting character of Lord of the Flies, I do still think he has thisrange that is always a pleasure to talk about.

Favorite moment:  Myfavorite moment from Ralph is kind of interesting. 

I really like the scenewhere they chase the pig after they look for the Beast and Ralph gets in on thehunt and becomes so excited about it. This moment is kind of small compared tothe other scenes in the novel but for Ralph’s character is just says so much. 

There’s an actual line that Ralph says (I believe) to Piggy, but he says, “Iwould like to wear war paint, but the fire is the most important thing.” Thisline and that scene make a point that Ralph could easily succumb to savageryand that it is characters like Piggy that keep him away from it. 

It justbasically shoots all of the comments regarding how pure and heroic Ralph is.Ralph is not the hero of the story – he’s a boy that can think and say nastythings (to Piggy and Simon especially). He’s capable of as much harm as the hunters,understanding what had happened on the night of Simon’s death but the fact is he still helped in killing Simon.. 

Thiskind of ties into my unpopular opinion of him as well, but yeah, we will getinto that. So basically, the scene with Ralph getting excited about the hunt.And, also of course, the scene between him and Jack and the shelters in chapter3 – because my shipper heart.

Idea for a story:  Ofcourse, the post-island stuff always piques me. I really love thosepsychological-based works where Ralph has to deal with the aftermaths of theisland and how that plays a role on other characters, like Jack or Roger. Ithink it would be cool to see that Ralph/Jack reunion moment unfold when theyare both adults and see what would happen. I think stories like that are sointeresting.

Unpopular opinion: Basically for my unpopular opinion you can look at my Favorite Momentslot, but it’s just the entire thing with people treating Ralph like he’s thishero in the story when he’s really not, and just that entire thing going on. Justkind of interesting how people conjure up stuff like that and I’m like what inthe world.

Favorite relationship: Myfavorite relationship with Ralph? 

Oh boy, I really want to go the obvious routeand say his relationship with Jack just because I find their entirerelationship incredibly fascinating, as I have stated before. However if itweren’t for them I would definitely say Ralph’s relationship with Piggy. 

Talkabout an interesting relationship, right? His relationship with Piggy thatstarted off just with annoyance turned into friendship in the best way and Ihonestly thank the book so much for developing their relationship like that insubtle ways. A lot of people have said that Ralph kind of just relies on Piggybecause he’s there and  he’s on his side and that’s the only reason,but I personally don’t agree with that especially towards the end of the novel.I see their relationship as incredibly complex. It changes so much frombeginning to end and how Piggy kind of holds Ralph away from savagery isanother facet of the novel I love discussing. Piggy and Ralph’s relationship ismy favorite, besides his and Jack’s.

Favorite headcanon:  Myfavorite headcanon is that Ralph is nit-picky about his things and wherecertain things need to be, he could be kind of OCD and just needs to havethings in a certain order.
